Reviews From google play store

Very easy and intuitive to set up and use. You have to press on stop for a long time to convince it you have actually finished though.

Disappointed, I just asked for directions to a favourite route of mine and the app directed me to the busiest, most dangerous highway to cycle. There are lots of other country roads in the area that are much safer to ride. I did not see options for these choices.

It is very intuitive to use, quick, and uses sufficiently detailed maps, depending upon your level of zoom. Great that it is free to use. My only problem is operating the maps, where sometimes it can suddenly zoom in on somewhere in Siberia!; other times it won't pan or zoom smoothly. However, overall the good points override these and it is my go-to app for planning routes

This is now my route planner of choice, yes i did have problems getting used to how it worked, but all good now. it's really easy to import a route to get turn by turn directions for it Thanks for the link to that tutorial (I got it translated to English), makes a bit more sense now & with bit of playing around I can now get it to do what i want. Would be good if you could export a GPX from the app rather than having to use the website. Really good to use with Wahoo bike computers

An extremely good and accurate map, and I loved the fact that it was free. I would consider using it for other locations. The only reason it didn't get a five star rating was it crashed once and I had to reload the route, but that may have been loss of GPS or maybe the device?

Update has restored navigation accuracy and stopped annoying voice directions that were too frequent. I would like it if you pinch or slide on the map whilst it is orientated to direction of travel it would stop changing to North orientation without me asking it to (if I want it to do this I can press the location button) but I do appreciate by zooming with the + - button it stays properly aligned. Google maps does it better - keeps chosen alignment but allows you to switch using compass button

After extensive use I have to lower my rating a bit. The app is exceptional for planning biking tours. It allows you to choose the path with the maximum level of detail and you can save the tours. Unfortunately the navigation part is not as good. It has many bugs especially related to pausing and restoring a ride, sometimes it is unable to connect via GPS (but at the same time Google maps works perfectly), it duplicates the tiles for speed, distance and the map zoom level is not enough. I would suggest to fix the annoying bugs rather than add new features.

I love Komootits the only mapping system I have found where I can get audible directions. I have quite a faff because I have to plot the route in Strava download to pc then upload from pc to komoot. Only little bits I don't like us if you go off route it won't re route you until you are almost on top of your route again, it just keeps repeating make a u turn. The 2nd thing is if I start a route it won't let me join it in the middle I have to go to the beginning

This is one of the best if not the best apps for cycle routing on the market. It is a good investment and worth paying for the premium to get the world maps of you are a cyclist who uses navigation a lot. I use this on my wahoo element head unit to route my rides and works flawlessly.

Great for planning a route, and then navigating along that route. But overly frequent instructions while riding. Every 100m or so it tells me what my next turn is, even if that turn is several km away, which kind of spoils the ride. And the navigation reads maps rather weirdly. It sees forks at T junctions, tells you to turn at the next junction when in fact it means for you to carry on the road you are on and not turn into the side road, turns where there is just a bend in the road.

Not flexible handling of routes. Had to Google how to reverse a route because its not that obvious. When you start halfway a suggested route and the route is a loop it only guides you to the start/end of the route when it was created, but does not guide you to the point where you entered the loop. Wanted to combine multi smaller trips into single trip. Also not possible. When basic route funtions are not there, what's the purpose of the rest? Then decided to use Google maps. Works better.

Pretty slick routing and navigation as compared to RWGPS. Voice instructions are way too frequent though and get annoying very quickly. I don't need to be told to go straight every time I go past a junction. If they fixed this I would up my rating to 5 stars.

I really love this app, the tour planning is easy and amazing and can be easily done on the smartphone without a computer. What i dont like is the auto pause function: After I complete a tour my "movement time" is really really low. Can you please provide an option to disable that functionality if one dont want to use that? That would be awesome.

They just want your money, dont bother with this app. This could be a good app but when you have a free region and you cannot access it then its no good. All it tells me is that region is not available yet and wants me to purchase. I prefer to try something before i purchase to see if it is useful to me. I cannot see the maps etc.

I find the app superb. Over the last two years I hiked over 800 miles in Britain. The app does not disappoint. Never crashes (I often do 9-hour hikes taking lots of photos), keeps you on path and good enough map detail. It's simple to use too - not overloaded with features like many other apps. I'm impressed enough to have just gone for Premium!

Incredibly useful for hiking! a must have. voice navigation is buggy and misleading!!! The Android Wear OS app is useless. Better in every aspect than any other similar app that I have seen, but the "sport specific map pack" is ridicolosuly expensive (premium for 60 Eur per year!). What I miss is the painted hiking path signals (on the side of trees). Too expensive for a small single country (only tiny areas are an option to buy or the planet...). And planning does not work without internet!

The apps navigation and tour recommendation are excellent. But it would be even better if there is Autozoom function when riding. Currently one can set the zoom level themselves before beginning the ride. And need to adjust it accordingly when needed.

For cycling: much better than Google Maps at routing along less busy streets, but no where near as good at parsing destinations. REALLY wish I could make simple edits to text already in the destination field. Lastly, some screens support landscape mode while others don't. This makes interacting with the UI quite difficult when my phone is sideways (like when mounted to my bicycle) -- screen layouts keep flipping around as I navigate app screens.

CAUTION!!!! I would NOT pay them for any product they are selling.I bought the regions before they rolled out the last update with "premium" features, and now I cannot download any region or see any regions. This had worked before the updates. I emailed them and have not heard from them in weeks. The responses I got was probably a robot that provided a list of FAQs. I did try the FAQ suggestions. And yes, I reinstalled the app while waiting for a response.

I really like this app and I would give it 5 Stars if they would sort out the pain full voice navigation! It's such a pain to follow, it's confusing at times and has far too many notifications. For example while cycling on quite B road with no road intersecting it do I really need to be reminded that I need to follow that road when it turns right every 100-200 meters for 3.5 kilometres?? Then on an busy A road I'm told which exit to take from a roundabout once as I approach?

O.k. After getting passed the login problem, it proves to be a quite mediocre app of this kind. Route planning is horribly designed. The paths drawn are ridiculous and the direction on automatically generated paths is by 80% or more wrong. Uploading your recorded routes and make a plan on them results to a quite funny result. It simply does not work.

Amazing route finding and information for bike touring using Komoot. However several times we have been sent on rough gravel roads when we were carefully avoiding that surface type. Yesterday our route took us to a staircase walkway when one block further we could have ridden easily at same distance but we had to backtrack up a hill and around. Also cannot figure out how to change Cyrillic names to ones we can read and understand. Big problem for us in Montenegro and elsewhere.

Very useful app, both as a planning tool (distance, gradient, etc) and as a very accurate navigator so you're not constantly checking the map (although you should, of course, carry one!) I use it for mountain biking in summer, and hill walking in winter. Has a more relaxed 'feel' than Strava, i.e. Recreational as opposed to Competitive!

Very handy for planning walks but also great for tracking ad-hoc excursions. I've used it for a few walks now and it's been consistently excellent. Best hiking app I've used and it's correctly shown the footpaths across fields.

(Road cycling viewed) Truly inconsistent and now horrible. Riding through Europe it worked a charm. Occasionally sending me down gravel 'shortcuts' but not the end of the world. Have got to Japan and HK and does not work, crashes, beyond frustrated and completely useless. Have not had one positive use with the app while in Asia.

I love this app, I'm using it for planning bike trips here and there and I'm super content with how it works. BY THE WAY if anyone from the company will read this - my girlfriend would love to work with you as an UX designer!! She loves the app as well and her dream is to work for Komoot <3 (I'm not joking!)

Would love to be able to suggest map (route/surface) edits, so I would not need to use off grid segments for places that are defiantly walkable/rideable. Otherwise exceptionally great app. I tried a lot of other route planning apps and this is the best I've seen. Try it and you will see why.

Just used for the first time and... Excellent!!! Voice navigation is the best I've come across and the app is so easy to use. Is like apple products used to be - you didn't know how much you needed the product until you trued it. Highly recommended.

If the app gets a more detailed analysis with power, max speed, and details like the strava app..That'd be a done deal..Other than that it ticks all the check boxes that is needed on the route..

This is my favourite MTB app. It has intuitive route planning and arrows to indicate which way you need to go on your route line. It's useful and forward thinking, thanks!

Constantly frustrated by the lack of offline functionality....I travel in more remote locations where i am often forced to change my route....and without a good 4G signal i am stuffed....so its back to Maps.Me.....and Google maps.....I have been a paid user for more than a year and do not see any improvement......

Disappointed that there are no regions in Australia. You have to buy the top level package in order to use this app, and that's AU$50. I'll revisit this app when regions are introduced in this app for Australia.

I downloaded Komoot for a lake district ride from Ambleside. I wanted to follow a route and the voice navigation was great! Very easy to follow and it kept me right for 35 miles! Thanks

Syncs with other apps perfectly, very intuitive and pretty UI. Would definitely recommend.

Grest app once you get a route but the app needs serious working on to make it more user friendly. Adding waypoints becomes very tiresome with no undo facility that is easy to spot. C'mon Komoot put some work into this potentially superb app.

Not a bad app, but it is impossible to just be closed without fitst pressing 10 buttons and eventually saving the route. Thus it's dangerous for biking!

Frustrating learning curve on the routing but once you've got it it's a great tool both for following routes and creating new ones and the stats make sure you can push yourself on without being over ambitious.

i guess i don't get this app. not very user intuitive. you pick a trail and the route dont even highlight to see whats involved. if its that hard to figure out how to use it, cant be that great.. back to allTrails 😒

Fantastic app. Would highly recommend. I've plotted my own routes easily, followed them and added pictures along the way. Also a lot of great routes to download and follow.

Great app, very clear and easy to use. Awesome multi activity set up, normally use my old Garmin watch but this is so much more interactive and interesting. Well done ;)

Very good app for planning cycle routes. Needs more options for what sort of roads to use/avoid. For example I don't want cycle paths but would like it to avoid big A roads of death like dual carriageways

I use this app for running and biking. It does a pretty good job of tracking and calculating the metrics. Happy with it so far.

A great way to plan hikes according to your needs! It contains detailed information and navigation works nicely, especially with the option to save for offline use! Love this app!

Does the Job! Better than the OS App in use, even if the mapping is not quit as good. Plotting routes is easy on the pc and upload them to the phone for use. Recommended.

Great app! Use it for planning bike rides or walks, or just measuring different routes. Paired with Wahoo Elemnt, works great.

good stuff..love the voice, Wish it had satellite for planning. Fairly easy to learn intuitively..riding bike across Portugal only a few turnarounds and I am trying some way way back road

Very good, but where are the photos that I have took from the in-app camera interface? Very pleased with the planning and turn by turn navigation

Buggy app to the level of uselessness, unlocked all regions and could not use it. To the answer of komoot: i logged in with the right profile and i saw in the app that i purchased the maps. The app was though buggy, could not load the maps offline and was always crashing.

Cool app. Helpful to plan rides. Turns Garmin into a Sat nav for bikes. Easy to plan routes via road or off road.

Great to have on a 3 day bike trip in New Zealand, just need a power bank to charge the phone over night. With voice nav it's like Google maps nav is for cars.

Perfect for mountainbiking. Easy set up good planning for new places links well to a garmin edge 820. Love it so far.

Best bike navigation there is. I love building tours around recommended places/segments and discovering new routes throughout my city that way.

Great navigation tool, easy to use maps. Spot on for mountain biking so far!

Love it. I love on the bike, and the sound and visual indicators are perfect. Access to recommendations also ab fab

Love it. There are some things I'd like to see improved, but the good far outweighs the bad. It's been a great tool for planning and logging my bike trips. 👍

Seems okay but I'm getting nothing but error messages when trying to connect with Garmin, which was my primary reason for using this app.

Usability is top, plus the features for biking could only be made by bikers. Great job!

Fun and useful app, love the tips for visiting unfamiliar places. Details about gradient, terrain things to spot really good.

Great app, that is very useful for route planning and navigation either by bike or hiking

Very good app kept us the right path all the way, would definitely have been lost without it going over haystacks.

Great features and route calculation for cycle paths. The focus is sports and touring, but I use it even for commuting and when going to buy groceries.

Excellent for route guidance. Simply enter start and end of trip, komoot will rapidly calculate a route, then follow it. Get a phone holder for handlebar.

A good app for cycling ... 5 stars if you can add like garmin the elevation in degreesin live when we are riding also a graphic with the elevation will be amazing...

Awesome app. Really works in the outdoors. Highly user friendly.

Just installed but keeps crashing when I try to create a route. So disappointed. Gave away my email address for nothing... :-/

Great for planning tours in areas where the best and safest route is not always obvious.

Used as backup gps and works perfectly, can upload my planned GPS route and it's there in the app just what I needed, thx

Used komoot for my L2P route took me down some great roads I wouldn't have chosen but were great (a few that weren't) integrates into my wahoo. Just a shame you have to buy regions

Planning routes on the screen can be a bit laborious. Otherwise well working and very helpful!

Runs on every device; i have used it for every hike; wouldn't climb or hike without it.

Excellent footpath mapping for almost the whole world!

Good app for planning tours by foot or bike. Use alongside the website for the best experience.

Crashed after 7 km, I was testing it since strava isn't working anymore on my Oneplus 5T.

Easy to use // great hikes // ability to store, plan and save all activities

good tracking and nice route planning features! havent used it much yet but so far only positive.

Took me 5 min to find an amazing hiking route. Got off trail several times but the offline maps got us back in Everytime. My wife loved the hike so much.

Great app. I like the road surface rating. Would be great if there were integrations with Strava or MapMyRide, etc.

Perfect it tells about elevation, single tracks etc ...best app for off road and roadbike as well

Seems I can't now see open cycle map to plan my route unless I pay more for the premium version... Not impressed!

Great free app. Use a pc browser to build custom routes and upload them to your device!

Easy to use and full of info to make a bike ride special

Love it, just wish be connected or easier way to upload to Strava.

100% the best app there is out there for biking and hiking. Looking forward to testing the skiing this winter.

great app & helpful. its complex in only one app. easy to use & recommended for hikers

Great app, good maps, and realistic times to do the routes you create

Wish we coild ipload tracks from other systems and it also allowed driving and offroading tracka rather than marking tgem as other.

Excellent website ans app. Ability to store maps offline is great.

Very impressive when you get the hang of it. And also to get any value from it you have to pay!

All good except screen is off during ride. How to make it always on?

Great app. Would be good if you could download route directly to gps.

very accurate gps navigation and super recommendations for the coming weekend.

Very usefull app if you want to plan a tour (bike, walk ...)

deleted this after it paused automatically on my walk and stop tracking again which makes it useless only recently had this problem

Amazing app! Helped me a lo with such a routes! I truly recommend!

It's like having sat nav in your car. But on foot and footpaths with clear vocal directions

Simply love the options it offers to different kinds of cycle rides.

Without a doubt an excellent app, I use it for hiking.

Just started. Liking it already. Can't wait to use it with my Sigma iD Tri which is on its way..

Great for hiking and cycling shows walking paths and cycle routes

Brilliant. Easy to use. Perfect app for cycling
