    Santino Zaccuri

I would say amazing: perfect for planning tours, perfect user experience and perfect features. So why 3 stars instead of 5? I cannot connect the app to Google Fit as 90% of such apps do, so I'm forced to use another worst app that has this simple but essential feature. If they add the possibility to link to GFit I will for sure change the vote to 5.

  2. WalesOutdoors-avatar

I bought the maps and yesterday went for a walk. The app didn't record my route in any detail, just straight lines between a few points and it seems to have deleted half of the photos I took on the day. I've NEVER had an issue with photos and now some great shots are lost. Please REFUND ME FOR THE PURCHASE and I'll delete this dreadful app...

  3. Dave Curwen-avatar

    Dave Curwen

First time use seems great. Looking forward to seeing what other features this app has. Bit annoying that the bar at the top keeps reverting back to upcoming direction as opposed to splitting by direction and stats. Would like to see stats up there constantly rather than having to tap the screen. Maybe there is a way?

  4. B R-avatar

    B R

One of the reasons I got this was for the Garmin Venu, except after purchase, now it turns out it doesn't work on the Venu, because Garmin policy?, which Im getting sick off. Spent the last 3 weeks looking at watches, and AGAIN doesn't do what I need it to do. Komoot notification feature isn't working, so pretty useless for me. Annoyed with IT nonsense. When it works it is pretty cool, for the most part, except settings cam be confusing, and how to turn record off is unclear

  5. Karl Cleveley-avatar

    Karl Cleveley

The 'Record' button needs to act as a simple tap 'Pause' button as well. Keeping your finger down until its timed out with the option to 'Stop' or 'Pause' is not ideal for any cyclist. Much confusion is the subscription fees with downloaded maps from £3.99-£29.99 - is this monthly or annually? And then theres the premium subscription of £59.99 per year, which works out quite expensive. I prefer to pay £4.99pm - safe in the knowledge that the app is going to continue to work for the entire year.

  6. Stefan Daler-avatar

    Stefan Daler

Map fails to distinguish visually between paths that you can or can not cycle, which is a fairly major fault for a cycle touring app. For example all around me are lots of Bridleways, where cycling is permitted. Also a footpath through the local golf course - not permitted. Both marked the same as a solid black line. Also you have to pay for what are open-source maps. And then subscribe as well if you want map features specific to your activity.

  7. Karina Miller-avatar

    Karina Miller

I usually ignore invitations to rate apps, but I love this one so much that I had to take a minute to give it five stars! This app provides something I needed but never even considered possible. It blew my mind! Plus they care about customer feedback and continual improvement. Also mind blowing!

  8. Steven Williams-avatar

    Steven Williams

I mainly bought this app to build routes and cycle courses even in familiar areas, but on the app, I'm having to spend more time trying editing the auto built route rather than plotting my own. I'm struggling to work this out in regards... "Why have you gone there?" and editing is waste of time and a ball ache on the app that I can't fathom out in my short use. Nightmare.... Update, Now used the PC version, much easier, but still, if you're out in the field you're not going to carry the PC for route changes. There should be an option for free hand, instead of the builder always doing auto route and editing, as sometimes I'd like to build a course that the builder can't cope with.

  9. Francesco Di Maggio-avatar

    Francesco Di Maggio

Excellent app. I have used mostly for navigation and in comparison to Google map it is better suited for bike riding. First example it does not replan the route straight away if you take a different turn, and it takes in account the type of bike that you have

  10. Mark Skinner-avatar

    Mark Skinner

This app has good and bad. It's a good at letting me plan a tour or day trip if I know where I want to go to/from. What it's really bad at is letting me find completed routes from people nearby. They must have millions of public routes stored on their servers, for the love of God give us a good way to search the database, the competition "Ride with GPS" does this very well. I could be missing out of loads of good bike tracks that are right on my doorstep.

  11. Tony Rowe-avatar

    Tony Rowe

I use for walking/hiking. Just moved to Cornwall so have no knowledge of the area. Accurate and super helpful with voice prompt navigation. Can plan a route in advance and know distance, elevation and surface. Tutorial on YouTube on how to plan a route. Bit more fiddly on mobile app but OK once you know how too.

  12. James Bridges-avatar

    James Bridges

Well thought out app without any of the stupid bollocks around 'segments' 'KOM's and leaderboards. Turn by turn navigation works really well and following someone else's route is a breeze. Even better you don't have to do it from a laptop as the app works so well

  13. Yasmine-avatar

Great app! I especially love the spirit, the community aspect, the great tips on nice rides, and the fact it doesn't go for the whole **** calories business, obsession with fitness and all that stuff. Love it.

  14. Matthew Norwood-avatar

    Matthew Norwood

Fantastic app for route planning and mapping to guide you around to where you are going. Very good for the recording of routes whilst out which can then easily be shared, I'm only using the free version but wouldn't hesitate to pay/purchase additional packages as the need arose. I've used other mapping /tracking apps but this is by far the best in my opinion and is great for cyclists and mountain bikers.

  15. Sanjay Thapa-avatar

    Sanjay Thapa

One of my favourite apps for running and cycling. I have installed komoot on my Gear S3 & it works offline too, no Internet required after synchronisation. Awesome. Would still prefer more features on the watch app. Keep up the good work creators. KOMOOT IS THE BEST.

  16. Chris S-avatar

    Chris S

Best cycling app by far. Few things I would like to be added though: - customisable navigation screen, so you can increase the size or change the metrics your interested in - better sorting of planned routes. Also better division between public and private ones

  17. damo King-avatar

    damo King

Fantastic app, really really useful even for a novice cyclist and hiker like me, so far has all the off road maps I'm looking for and not put a foot wrong yet. I've even invested in the world wide package so that I could have recording and offline use. One question however, I seem to have lost the discover tab all of a sudden and that was one of the best features? Any reason? Only noticed today

  18. Michel Fischbach-avatar

    Michel Fischbach

This app provides wrong information about the meters climed while cycling. It's always about half of what is shown in other apps and other devices. I have already contacted support twice and they only say in general terms that the bug is being fixed. That was more than a month ago. They don't seem to understand that this information is important while cycling...

  19. Mark Headlam-avatar

    Mark Headlam

Having had a poor start to life with komoot and being charged for an extra region instead of getting it free!!! ive used it now for some time and its actually quite a good app its simple to use, gives good information, they throw a couple of offers out there. no crashes, no bugs, no adds. You can also share data with friends quite easlily I'm a basic walker and cyclist this app works great. does exactly what i need I would recomend you give it a go.

  20. Edouard Goloubev-avatar

    Edouard Goloubev

Doesn't work with my Yamaha ebike. The iPhone version works however well. It finds the bike on list, pairs but ebike doesn't show connected and does not communicate with the app. Another apps connect to ebike and ebike shows connected. So it's not a phone problem.

  21. Mike Wanders-avatar

    Mike Wanders

UPDATE: The GPS issue was fixed in April and the app is once again my favorite. Keeping it simple and accurate, without having to rate every hike, run, or ride is great compared to another app. Thanks! No longer works as of the last update in March 2020. Constantly drops GPS, stops and starts.

  22. Ananda Brown-avatar

    Ananda Brown

Really love the app and I like the feature where I can see the highest points on my route.. I would love to have a MAX SPEED statistic . Please haha 5* it planned a lovely route to me and she was very good and concise where her instructions. I also like the drop button very clever app I like it alot thanku

  23. Long Talker-avatar

    Long Talker

Useful tool for hikers, but stillLacks many very basic functions, and developer doesn't care about suggestions from users. The good thing is, Google maps is closing in fast on the hiking niche so will make this app redundant pretty soon.

  24. Francisco Schulz-avatar

    Francisco Schulz

I like the maps that you can buy for hiking. They are not too expensive and I found them to be quite useful and accurate. However, if not looking at maps I use the service to plan a route which is well done for the browser version, but in the app it is just terrible

  25. Tim Bright-avatar

    Tim Bright

This is a fantastic app. I don't do reviews but this app is so good. Basically a GPS Sat Nav for paths and tracks. You can plan a route showing distance, elevation and terrain type in some very nice graphics. Then go hike and follow the route all in the same app.

  26. Martin Murphy-avatar

    Martin Murphy

Only used it once so far but really like it. Especially when it gives turn by turn instructions, which is helpful when you are on tracks that are easily missed! Good app.

  27. Sam Lloyd-avatar

    Sam Lloyd

The perfect companion to my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt. It allows you to plan routes and then sync with Wahoo to easily transfer the routes over. The planner suggests lovely quiet roads giving you information on surface, distance and elevation. Highly recommend for cycling!

  28. colonel cornflake-avatar

    colonel cornflake

This app is near flawless in my eyes, it's really easy to get in and use straight out of the gate. Its landmark feature is really helpful, it makes me able to find places I'd like to ride a lot easy which also means my passion keeps well stoked. 9.5/10

  29. Frank Caponecchia-avatar

    Frank Caponecchia

Still not there. Yet to complete a cycle tour with this app. Likes going from a to b only. Everytime there is a road that covers a return route it picks that up and tells me to return then no longer re routes when i keep riding straight. Likes a to b on the route it sets out. Don't diverge.

  30. Laureano Lopez-avatar

    Laureano Lopez

I generally like this app very much. However, as a route planner, it seriously fails in that waypoints cannot be renamed. In long routes this is very frustrating. Until this is fixed, ViewRanger is a better option.

  31. Luqian Qi-avatar

    Luqian Qi

I like this app especially the offline map feature, it save data usage, its accurate. the only thing i don't like is the route planning interface, it's not user friendly and easy to use. suggestion: please add number of steps and calories burned in stats.

  32. Philip Ward-avatar

    Philip Ward

Planning a long tour and tried various other cycling sat navs but none seemed a better option to google maps. Stumbled on Komoot and this does everything I was looking for, more intuitive than Google maps and works perfectly. Love it!

  33. col-avatar

Excellent app although not completely intuitive. Would benefit from a summary to share to social media rather than just a link. Ave speed is higher initially (because of auto-pause I guess) but lower when the gpx is downloaded & uploaded elsewhere.

  34. Tanya Dorney-avatar

    Tanya Dorney

Not sure if I am being thick or this app is incredibly unintuitive but I paid 8 quid thinking it would unlock great cycling routes I could just pick from but all its letting me do is plan my own route! If I could plan my own route I would not need an app!!!

  35. Isaac Samaniego-avatar

    Isaac Samaniego

I have used this app twice. The first time it was awesome, it was cloudy and GPS had no issues. 2nd time it was sunny, a little windy, but GPS sucked. Both ways of a round trip.

  36. Phill Arrowsmith-avatar

    Phill Arrowsmith

Prefect cycling and walking app! Absolutely love Kamoot! I use it for gravel riding, road cycling, hiking and walking. Really easy to use, really helpful with training.

  37. Simon Waite-avatar

    Simon Waite

Amazing tool. I use it for mountain biking routes. Very fun and simple to use (app and web). Sometimes I use the hiking routes to help me avoid roads when with the 7 year old!

  38. Bob R-avatar

    Bob R

Brilliant, easy to use app, that gives you the freedom and confidence to plan your journey with ease and simplicity with all the stats and data at your fingertips.

  39. Cindy T-avatar

    Cindy T

I'm told I have an outdated version but I just installed from the App store. The version I installed won't open and keeps redirecting me back to the App store for the latest version.

  40. Kevin Lye-avatar

    Kevin Lye

The only app that I've found that works 100% of the time. No gaps in the record. So after about 12 trips it's a 10/10

  41. P Cz-avatar

    P Cz

When I try to plan it selects the road not the bikepath right next to it. Also does not allow to use the same street both directions. Useless.

  42. Rex Ezard-avatar

    Rex Ezard

One of the best apps I use for cycling, running etc. 100% would recommend. Especially amazing for planning bikepacking/bike touring and backpacking routes

  43. Craig Rowan-avatar

    Craig Rowan

Love this app, very accurately, my daughter loves planning family cycles on it, would genuinely give it 6 stars if it was an option

  44. Auric Duck-avatar

    Auric Duck

Really good app to track your rides walls or runs. Record your journey and take photos along the way to share route If you want with friends or the community.

  45. Rob Milston-avatar

    Rob Milston

Great for selecting trails and highlights. Super easy to use although it's a bit jumpy on the planner sometimes

  46. James Demin-avatar

    James Demin

Komoot is a useful tool at the free level, but now that I'm close to my next tour start date I have upgraded to premium, and it's well worth the cost. So many useful features for a long-distance touring cyclist. One thing I would recommend adding is some bike-touring specific phrases for different languages, like 'Can I camp here? '

  47. Ki Talbot-avatar

    Ki Talbot

Not bad. 5 stars if open cycle maps were available in app and not just desktop. The galaxy watch companion app seems inconsistent but when it works it's great

  48. Georges Kesseler-avatar

    Georges Kesseler

Could you add a friends only feature? I was expecting that private tours, when tagged with friends, would be visible to them only. But instead I have to make the tour public to the world just to share with a single friend.

  49. Antonio Markovic-avatar

    Antonio Markovic

I enjoy using this app, what stops me giving 5 stars is unable to share the purchased maps with family member. For example, when we have long hike my battery often dies because of constant enabled GPS, it would be nice if we could continue with my wife's phone without purchasing the maps for her phone. It would be nice feature. Thanks

  50. Anja Kennedy-avatar

    Anja Kennedy

Good App for planing and reviewing but it would be much easier for me of I could sort my planed walks etc in e. g. personel regions or countries.

  51. Fabiano Abate-avatar

    Fabiano Abate

I've finally found an app with a descent voice navigation and route planner. At my first trial it did work well on road and off-road. It guided exactly as planned and wisely adjusted the route when I needed. It's worked just fine using my phone's GPS. I quite like its features that allows us to see and share different plans with other users. Initially I had issues to set up the voice navigation and to download the offline map, and to plan the route, but I managed to resolve. Well done!

  52. Joseph Gilling-avatar

    Joseph Gilling

Seems like it has some good routes, but as there is no way to search on the discover tab for routes near to where you live it's pretty useless. Damned if I'm going to spend all day scrolling until I find something relevant for me. EDIT - raising the stars from 2 to 4 as, although what I said above is still true, this app is actually excellent for importing routes via .gpx .kml or other GPS files. Something Google maps still can't do.

  53. Dawn Morris-avatar

    Dawn Morris

Voice navigation has completely quit and last time I went out on a planned route it spent the whole time showing a u-turn although I was on the exact route which was saved for offline use. Planning is also annoying. I usually do a loop so I don't want to put in a destination, just a series of way points and preferably avoid main roads. Was hoping the issues would be resolved so I could buy more maps but not going to commit now.

  54. Danny Child-avatar

    Danny Child

Best route planner and GPS I've found, and I've tried a few. Set it to do my normal commute, and it took me a quieter route, less traffic lights, so overall faster than normal. I made a couple of detours to avoid even more traffic lights, and it rerouted me with no fuss. Online planning on pc was simple, and super easy to send route to phone.

  55. Samuel Jamieson-avatar

    Samuel Jamieson

Brilliant app for recording your mileage for walking or cycling. You can also plan your routes using this app and share them. It has a nice social aspect so you can see where other people are exploring to give you an idea where to go. The free basic account gives you plenty of features. Ignore the bad reviews these guys must have crappy phones.

  56. Elric Prynn-avatar

    Elric Prynn

The route builder is great and it has a good feel, more stats needed and heart monitor compatibility

  57. Jeff Chong-avatar

    Jeff Chong

As with most other people with negative reviews, the GPS is absolutely terrible. App is always "Unable to track position" and you have to exit out of navigation and restart the route to re-acquire your location. My GPS works perfectly fine with all other apps except this one. I've never been lost as many times as with this app. I'm giving it 2 stars because the ONE time it worked without issues, it worked well.

  58. Shareef Awad-avatar

    Shareef Awad

The navigation is just idiotic.. And that's coming from someone who uses a Nokia symbian device for navigation not even a garmin, and yet it proves that 2012 navigation technology is still better than this app. Also dealing with maps is just frustrating. just because some id**t went inside a train station I too have to go inside it otherwise it just won't move on and reroute. Good for planning your ride from home but on the way it's total garbage, you constantly get lost and have to go back.

  59. Michael Bedford-avatar

    Michael Bedford

Excellent app. Works well. Only using the free option due to the annual fee is to expensive.

  60. Aditya Jayaram-avatar

    Aditya Jayaram

Pretty terrible at tracking your activity. The GPS on my phone works well with other apps, but here it is just all over the place. I never get a good reading of the route i took on a mountain trail. It also doesn't calculate elevation changes well. The "time in motion" is absolutely wrong too. It's only useful for looking at trails on the map. But i wouldn't pay for this app if that's the only feature. Overall poor experience.

  61. Abhishek Chakraborty-avatar

    Abhishek Chakraborty

The app is great from functionality point of view. Excellent for hikes. I gave it 5 stars after using it for the first time, but soon realised that it eats up battery like crazy. My phone generally last 2 days without charging. After installing this app, it barely lasted 4 hours. I uninstalled the app and my phone is back to what it was before. I am giving a 4 stars due to this reason. It does have a big potential once the battery consumption is more optimised.

  62. Bhashitha Gamage-avatar

    Bhashitha Gamage

very useful app. I used the free version, but it filled with many important features.

  63. Ed-avatar

I have enjoyed many routes which I would never have found without this app. I love it! Only improvement I would like would be ability to easily adjust suggested route on the planning screen. Not a huge issue as you can navigate very well en route using the app .

  64. jayson king-avatar

    jayson king

Trying to find official routes.... no chance.... this app seems more designed for people who have done routes before, rather than people wanting to try new 'official' routes. I'm not sure I trust a random guys route in the middle of nowhere... and it seems pretty difficult to find even editors specials on here....going back to All trails app.

  65. Mark Boden-avatar

    Mark Boden

I've used Komoot for the last 3 years on some faily lengthy and challenging bike adventures, it's my go to bike navigation. I don't use it for anything else. It's helped me navigate in some tricky parts of the world, and whilst it's not perfect it works well enough for me. Each year as more people use it it does seem to be improving. I've become even more fond of it since taking part in a number of recent webinars, this has allowed me to use it more effectively.

I find this a very frustrating app to use. Route planning isn't intuitive - select roundtrip and at each waypoint I try to add it keeps reversing my route. No obvious simple user help. Constantly trying to get me to buy Premium at a big upfront yearly cost; either let me have a free trial period to see if it's worth it or accept monthly payments. Downloaded a "pack" of my area but now cannot locate it anywhere. Won't save a route I've planned; just hangs. The frustrations go on and on.

Now I own a Wahoo I use it to upload routes I've planned. Very easy to use. I like looking at other people's rides and using them either as they are or for inspiration. Options to hike ,walk or gravel too. Gives you the terrain. Great app.

Good! Finds paths I never would have found! What would be nice is having less information via voice navigation. I need a 'turn left' info not the whole street name. Far too much detail. And as already mentioned one needs to be able to choose the voice language! My phone is set to English and I can't select another language. Another point: why can I not change the average speed? Bike's are stuck to a low average speed but with an electric bike makes no sense. We have to be able to change it!

Junky cash grab. There is almost always an error when I try downloading offline maps. After about ten tries I'll finally get it to begin downloading and it stops at 99.8% and never completes! I tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling- nothing. Tried contacting customer support and haven't heard back. Also, I purchased all the maps only to find out that I would have to subscribe to a premium version to get the actual features that I wanted.

Wasted potential. This app should have export to GPX but it just doesn't work and they boast that it's a fresh feature. Haha. Also other things are so not intuitive. I save possible options for hikes and when I want to look at the list it's sorted in a strange order you just don't find your home. Etc etc etc. So cumbersome! The team needs to learn about UI and usability.

Works quite well. A shame it needs network to plan a route even if I have the full map on my phone - so I'm using it for now but always on lookout for an app that could plan routes without a remote server. What if I go somewhere w/o Internet connection and need to replan? This is really a sad oversight that is easily mendable - the fact that this is not done for so long feels that the company wants to keep the users on the leash of their servers.

"GPS needed" " GPS needed" "GPS needed" NO IT DOESN'T AT THE MOMENT, SHUT UP! Also, the app keeps crashing and resets everything rendering the recording and the pointless "social media" features entirely unusable. Always have an offline copy of the current tour. If you use this app as only tool you can just about use it, albeit with lots of frustration.

Awful, how on earth do you plan your routes. It says you can plan it to the finest detail, yet there are no instructions on how to do it and when I try it just takes me round in circles. The footpaths are there I can see them on the maps, but for some reason its taking me miles out of the way to get somewhere the footpath would take me straight too??

I had some problems with the app early on but now it works great. No need to stop and look at the map Komoot kept me on track the whole way. Plus, it let me know what to expect with distance, trail type, etc...

Great app. Awesome for planning routes and syncing with my Wahoo Elmnt Bolt. Much more functional than Strava, which I only use to compare with other riders. Only fault is that when installed on my Samsung phone and Tablet the tablet seems to get all the notifications, unless I sign out. It'd be better if they both got the notifications or you could choose.

Great for seeing how far I have walked when I'm out with the dog. Shows the route you've taken. The other day I wasn't sure where I was ad I'd just followed paths to see where they led. App showed me how to get back by showing footpaths as well as streets. Love it!

I lost many times while using the app. It helped me discover new places, but time to find an alternative. Just to name a problem: - the tracking mode drains my battery, if I enable battery saver, it doesn't track - doesn't show and prefer cycling routes, sometimes sends me to high traffic road even if there is a cycle route nearby - after a few hour of usage sometimes it totally losts the original planned route

I love riding but when making progress especially on a TT bike I was either stuck to route I knew (boring) or had to stop and constantly check where I was supposed to go. Having unsuccessfully tried a garmin as I kept forgetting to look, often caused by me 'zoning out', I thought I would try this. Wish I had found it years ago. I went a knew route today, everyturn had one ty of warning. Happy at 20mph knowing I wont miss my turns. This app is an absolute must pair with my head phones.

The app has some UX opportunities for improvement, specially when creating routes. The overall experience is great. I'd include some more features to it like suggesting routes intelligently and more options to discover new places.

Kind of useless. Route recording doesn't work. I tried twice. First, it stopped recording after I cycled around the block. Second time it just didn't record the route. It keeps on losing GPS connection even though I'm in 3rd zone in London, I can't imagine using this app on a longer trip out of town... The only useful feature would be examples of possible routes but if it loses connection then what's the point?

I am more than willing to purchase an app, even if it's more expensive than the average competitor, but I refuse to pay for the same app again and again every year. No matter how good an app is, I will not get conned into a subscription. £30 to have all maps and £5 per month... a joke!

Good app for planning road bike routes but pick your "free" area wisely or if still available when you join take the world mapping at the discounted price of £19 - I wish I had done this. I use the app to create routes and send them to (this is the offline option) Wahoo Bolt to follow easily without having to stop and check the map etc. Note you can only safe to offline routes that are from your 1 x free or bought maps. Would have given 5* if the world map was not so expensive. Thanks

Brilliant app the I've used it for 4 rides now , and it's just the best easy to use as well, i am very impressed with how good the GPS is ( you can tell which side of the path you've cycled down ).! By far the best free app money can buy 😁😉👍

A very good app. But I'm missing the possibility to use the satellite layer in the app. I would highly recommend to have the possibility to mix the satellite view with the map with all paths etc. Or is it possible and I'm just too dumb?

Pretty poor at best. The mtb route planning is a waste of time. No use of any heat maps that I can tell. No accurate knowledge database of on the ground condition or even what surface type your routes on. I doubt really understand why this is better than Google maps.

Beware, the app is full of bugs. I raised 4 bugs, the support just closed them without any solution. The only one bug support confirmed is fixed (in Komoot version 10.5.5) is not fixed at all, i just tested it.

Great app. So far is accurate, voice direction very useful. I would give 5 stars, but loading an imported route (from gpx) file on mobile is at time cumbersome, not consistent. Seems to work "OK" if u go from file to app. Selecting the file from app is the issue.
