Still cannot locate the car or lock / unlock from the app. No real improvement in the app in a year, how can it be this bad? :-( I've had my ID3 for 9 months now. The app and the vehicle software continue to be way behind my previous 7 year old BMW i3. VW have a long way to go to catch up with 7 year old technology, let alone make the ID3 up to date. I wished I had stuck with the BMW i3, even though it had cover 200,000 kilometres 😞

A minimum app. Does a couple of simple things but not more than that. I had the hope the app was in full development since the ID.3 is new...but there are no new features added to this app. E.g. I can you see a map with the location where I am....but why can't I see the location of my car? Handy if you parked your car somewhere in a big city or if someone takes your car (hope I will never have to use the last one🤪). And there are a lot of extra features I can imagine...

There are still glitches and many major technical issues with the app including simple connectivity to vehicle. Key features are still missing: car location, locking/unlocking. It's also annoying that climate control turns off after 30min and if I try to run it multiple times after the 2nd attempt I'm blocked from using all app controls. That might be just another bug.

Since I wrote that 6 months ago, The App has improved a lot. The login problem seems to have gone. However, this morning there is an update, and Google Play Store will not install it. "Unable to install app". I have tried all the recommendations Google suggests. This seems to be fixed, somehow. But now I have the new version installed, I noticed that in the app home screen the range is in km. I can't see a way to change it to miles. Can I?

Plenty of room to improve this app. Limited functions and customisation of home screen. Cannot switch units of driving distance in app (setting doesn't exist) and units not synced to vehicle settings. Prompts to enter service partner at top of screen cannot be removed unless a service partner selected, have had prompt reappear after selecting a partner. Should be better given this is from VW. Car is brilliant, app is not.

Very limited functionality and connection to the car is a bit unreliable. However, it's still very useful to remotely see the state of charge and it seems to usually work when it matters (the car is charging). I'll update my review if these problems will ever get solved. Love my ID.3 nevertheless. Edit: The connection issues might be also caused by the car itself, but it's impossible to say. Let's see if the first OTA update improves something 🙂

Compared to my Land Rover remote app which wasn't perfect by any means this We Connect app is very average at best. It feels very rushed in design and thought. It contains basic information only. Would be good to see more widgets developed. Basic functionality such as opening and locking the car remotely including windows closed. Trip info such as last destination and distance. A view of total miles the vehicle has covered. Consumption stats. Headlight flash and horn assist to locate vehicle.

Not sure what you have changed but since updating I am getting serious battery drain on my phone, before the update no problem, now app has been put to sleep no problem. Also, when is it going to be sorted so the location shown is the location of the vehicle not the location you are running the app from. I know where I am when running the app because I am there running the app, I don't know where the vehicle is and that is what I want to know.

Not overly impressed, Home screen is extremely limited only 2 cards displayed, begin charging and initiate aircon, much more needed. Remaining range of the vehicle is displayed in miles not km as is the standard unit of distance in Ireland, I have been onto support and followed their recommendations but it didn't work. Navigating the app could be a little more intuitive. It's as though this app was a last minute thought and VW rushed it to market hoping customer's or end users wouldn't notice.

Rubbish. Half the features don't work, like sending a destination to the vehicle or starting a charging session. Now it stopping working altogether. Several attempts later I still cannot connect to my car as it won't scan the QR code. The level of incompetence for a company of this size is staggering. My next car won't be a VW again.
