It pays to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle.
Simply put, UnitedHealthcare MotionTM 1) gives you three daily walking goals and 2) rewards you financially for achieving them.

Our walking goals are designed to promote health and wellness. Reaching a high daily step count can be important, but there’s more to maximizing the health benefits of walking: Motion’s “FIT” goals are a prescription to move with Frequency, Intensity, and Tenacity every day.

Did you know that even a 1-hour workout may not be enough to reduce health risk factors if the majority of your day is spent sitting? We lose two hours of life for every hour we sit, Dr. James Levine, a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic, writes in his book “Get up!” Let Motion incent you to get up frequently for brief walks every day.

Money may be a good incentive.
UnitedHealthcare Motion gives you the opportunity to earn over $1,000 per plan year for out-of-pocket medical expenses by doing more of what you may already do: walk. You can earn for one, two, or all three goals each day. Earnings are deposited quarterly into an HRA or HSA, as applicable.

Why are Samsung devices no longer supported? The world is divided between two types of devices, iSomething or Samsung. I now use my personal Garmin fit watch with my UHC-M app. It was a rough go when I first started doing so, but now it works like a charm. I like the program because every day you have the same goal to reach but you are fit, and it helps to manage your weight, strength and flexibility.

I didn't leave a 5 star review. I've had this for almost 2 months and am getting message another update needed. This is ridiculous! Update after another 4 months: No issues with updates. Everything had been going smoothly, but starting 2 weeks ago, I stopped consistently getting credit for time spent on walks, frequency of walks. Only consistent credit is for distance. With the issue not getting credit for all time and consistency, I don't qualify for credit from my health insurance 🤨

I didn't think this app could get any worse but it has. Crashed 4 times in the past month losing all my data for those days. Their support doesn't seem to want to fix their problems either. This crashing has occurred with 2 different phones and multiple tracking devices. Just horrible and I will be glad to be with this soon!

Had to switch to Google fit app to sync my progress, will not sync with my Samsung watch anymore. I lost 245 days of activity this year.... Don't waste your time it's a huge rip off. I'm sure they want to fix the app. Cuz it's just stopping them from paying out what they owe you... If you could only see my sarcastic eyes roll so far back into my head I can see my own brain!... If I could give 0.25 Stars I would cuz that's how much they are willing to pay you for all the walking you do!

The connection to "hardware", such as Garmin devices, and "software", such as Google Fit, are too limited. Hopefully the future update can make it even usable for serious users. Hardware connection wise, none of the higher-end Garmin watches are supported. Software connect, the widely used Strava cannot be directly connected, but only Google Fit. Seriously? not much serious runners, walkers, or bikers use it because again it has very limited hardware connection capability. So limited hardware connection + limited software connection = really not functioning much at all. A quick suggestion to connect all Garmin gear, just provides direct connection to Garmin Connect. It will help a lot!!

Low quality app. It does not automatically sync to my watch; I have to open the app and manually sync. Every time I sync, it goes about halfway, then closes, saying it couldn't complete the sync, or they're too busy; try again later, or the whole app just crashes and closes. But, eventually, after 2-3 attempts, it finally does sync, which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of the 1 it probably deserves. Sometimes, after a successful sync, it does not record the correct steps data.

I absolutely love this idea and program! However, the app itself has a few significant bugs that need to be worked out, all with syncing. It takes several tries each time I attempt to sync with my device. There was a period of a few months where I could not get it to sync, so I lost all that effort. I get different errors or it just times out or crashes. I also wish it would sync automatically instead of me manually doing so, but I would overlook that if the syncing errors are resolved.

Sooo many problems. Logs me out. Correct logins fail. Won't sync. Slow. Errors all the time. I may have to give up on earning $ from UHC. Not worth the frustration. Update 8/16/21. UHC announced that ANY 30+ minute exercise would give credit for Intensity. I've been on 4 forty-minute bicycle rides this week. All show in the Fitbit app, none appear in UHC Motion app. Update 10/18/21. Been trying to get response from support on support of Fitbit Charge 5 for over a month.

Updating my review again to drop another star. Glitchy is now thebrule not the exception. Limited watch selection is, hard to believe, worse as they drop the o lowering a star... almost always glitchy, has trouble syncing between the watch and the app. Lousy watch selection and they don't seem to care. Orig review: Sometimes glitchy, doesn't support newer Android full function watches like galaxy watch or any newer garmin... it would be nice to be able to use a nicer newer Garmin for running.

I would give 0 stars if possible, this app misses my steps on a regular basis. If there is an update any steps prior are lost, maybe it is my tracker (Garmin) but I never had these problems with my fitbit. Today my trackers battery died and I lost a couple thousand steps when it is re- charged. Seems to be a little better.
