Brilliant streaming program when it works like its designed to. Had this on my phone and it worked well twice and then I kept getting the "Cannot connect to server" message.(which happened every time i turned it on. As long as this version doesnt go the same way, I should hopefully be good. The concept is great but what good is a concept without the engineering to back it up. If you have a working version, dont update it!

Superb personal cloud software; Especially for beginners, it seems like even children could easily manage to set this up. Nothing more to it than simply install Server software on your chosen device (say your desktop computer or a Raspberry Pi), install one or more clients (your Android phone for example). Log in, and you're done! No port forwarding, no firewall troubles, nothing. You should notice however that this remains free for about one month from installation! As I'm writing this it's 30$ a year,, which equates to about 1/5 of what a Netflix UHD account costs. Sure, you could set up your own, truly free, solution but in my humble opinion it's well worth it unless you're a seasoned computer user, as well as already subscribing to a DNS service.

OMG! This is the app I've been looking for, and free to home users. The only inclusion I'd love to see is the ability to cast a video from my computer to a tv anywhere, for example if I want to cast a home video from my computer on a friends tv via the video player in this app. Might be too much banwidth perhaps but would be awesome.

Works really good, except for it's never allowed me to complete a full sync of my Photos to my server. I've given it special permission in Android so that it can continue to use battery etc. but it still freezes after 15-20 minutes of copying. I have lots of photos I'd like to backup (8,000+) and it'd be nice to let it run overnight but it won't.

Well I have only used Tonido a little, so I dont know how consistent it will keep working. But it rocks. Very simple to turn your PC/Laptop into a cloud storage device, without major setup/configuring. Tonido was very very easy to set up and its free. I feel that it is secure & evey time I have needed to access my files on my Cell Phone the Tonido Android App worked great & easily pulled files, videos & music off my PC. Im sure it would work great on other devices, anywhere. Must have.

app will NOT start without you giving it Contacts and Telephone calls permissions!! The whole purpose of using this setup is to get away from the free cloud services that do a really good job already, but grab use and sell your data for their own purposes. Your free server software on windows works great, but now your phone app requiring these permissions puts a huge element of doubt into whether or not your entire service really is private and non-monitoring... what are you really doing?!

Fantastic App. I love it.There are no hassles at the download end. But your computer has to be on and connected to the internet to access your files. I wish there was a way to access files even if your pc is off, like dropbox. One can't download all files on pc to phone. Even if you download files to your phone you can't send file links via text message. It only allows option to email it or share through other chat apps. Function is totaly limited. No way to download single files.

Cannot upload photos from an SD card yet most other apps can. It will only back up from internal memory which totally defeats the value of an SD card. You can navigate to specify the SD card location but it won't work. Otherwise it's okay, but that's a big issue. Happy with the tonidoplug but can't update the OS to allow virtual disk mount. After 4.4 update : still no way to select SD card as camera upload source.

Making a easy cloud is good, but this app has lot of issue 1 it cannot access external storage even if the permission is granted to the app manually 2 If i upload 5 files, first file always wont get uploaded only remaining files get uploaded here there is a loss of information 3 cannot share from media or different apps to this app directly and save to my server 4 auto image sync to server, if the connection is interrupted the file gets corrupt in the server 5 There is no retry option if error
