requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

read battery statistics
Allows an application to read the current low-level battery use data. May allow the application to find out detailed information about which apps you use.

pair with Bluetooth devices
Allows the app to view the configuration of the Bluetooth on the phone, and to make and accept connections with paired devices.

access Bluetooth settings
Allows the app to configure the local Bluetooth phone, and to discover and pair with remote devices.

directly call phone numbers
Allows the app to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Note that this doesn't allow the app to call emergency numbers. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.

take pictures and videos
Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera. This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.

change network connectivity
Allows the app to change the state of network connectivity.

allow Wi-Fi Multicast reception
Allows the app to receive packets sent to all devices on a Wi-Fi network using multicast addresses, not just your phone. It uses more power than the non-multicast mode.

connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
Allows the app to connect to and disconnect from Wi-Fi access points and to make changes to device configuration for Wi-Fi networks.

disable your screen lock
Allows the app to disable the keylock and any associated password security. For example, the phone disables the keylock when receiving an incoming phone call, then re-enables the keylock when the call is finished.

control flashlight
Allows the app to control the flashlight.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

find accounts on the device
Allows the app to get the list of accounts known by the phone. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed.

retrieve running apps
Allows the app to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks. This may allow the app to discover information about which applications are used on the device.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

close other apps
Allows the app to end background processes of other apps. This may cause other apps to stop running.

change your audio settings
Allows the app to modify global audio settings such as volume and which speaker is used for output.

modify phone state
Allows the app to control the phone features of the device. An app with this permission can switch networks, turn the phone radio on and off and the like without ever notifying you.

read Usage data
Provides access to device usage history and statistics. Usage data is aggregated into time intervals: days, weeks, months, and years.

read call log
Allows the app to read your phone's call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. This permission allows apps to save your call log data, and malicious apps may share call log data without your knowledge.

read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

read the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to read the contents of your SD card.

read phone state
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
Allows the app to read SMS messages stored on your phone or SIM card. This allows the app to read all SMS messages, regardless of content or confidentiality.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

receive text messages (SMS)
Allows the app to receive and process SMS messages. This means the app could monitor or delete messages sent to your device without showing them to you.

record audio
Allows the app to record audio with the microphone. This permission allows the app to record audio at any time without your confirmation.

close other apps
Allows the app to end background processes of other apps. This may cause other apps to stop running.

send SMS messages
Allows the app to send SMS messages. This may result in unexpected charges. Malicious apps may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation.

set wallpaper
Allows the app to set the system wallpaper.

draw over other apps
Allows the app to draw on top of other applications or parts of the user interface. They may interfere with your use of the interface in any application, or change what you think you are seeing in other applications.

control vibration
Allows the app to control the vibrator.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

modify your contacts
Allows the app to modify the data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific contacts. This permission allows apps to delete contact data.

read Google service configuration
Allows this app to read Google service configuration data.

This app makes it so easy to transfer content from the phone to the PC and vice-versa and you are able to even put files in just about any location (Even more locations if the device is rooted). There are very many useful features such as screen-mirroring and remote control from the PC itself. Additionally, there is a security feature where if you lose your phone, you can lock it from the computer and have the potential to find its location (Location must be on, however). $20.00 a year is VERY worth the money considering all that comes with this app. It's light-weight and does not hinder the performance of the phone or PC. (Trust me, my phone is a J7-perx from mid 2017 and still the app works very well with respect to performance).

apk download Fiddly to set up; then disconnects after working well for a few days. Took a long time and a lot of fiddling to get the PC to properly connect to the Galaxy tablet. Then it worked great for a couple of days! Then it failed to connect to the tablet again. I am not going through all of that set-up time-consuming nonsense again. I'm deleting it and will find something else.

for pc I'm a network Engineer and I take a lot of photos of existing client infrastructure. I use the file transfer for photos quite a bit. It's nice to be able to receive as well. This tag-teamed with greenshot (on the pc side) is an absolute home run for me. It gives you that ability to pick and choose instead of sending everything to cloud based storage.

  4. savannah-avatar

apk I just got a new tablet and I use this app to sync between my tablet, phone, and laptop. works perfectly and is good for when I need to send files or messages. wish I knew about this sooner 👍

download This app is trash, dont waste your time. It lets you download it for free but requires a subscription to use afterwards, 200mb limit for transfers... android bluetooth have built in functions that perform this action, so essentially this app does nothing and they trick you into buying it to use functions your device already has.

premium apk Already love it. I left this app a long time ago due to connection issues and usability. Pushbullet started having those issues and became unreliable. Decided to give this a shot again and it's brilliant now. Love the features and so far connects great even with my VPN (something Microsoft phone companion hates). Already paid for premium to be able to transfer larger files. The desktop windows version seems very reliable so far. Also read that transmissions are end-to-encrypted.

دانلود The widget only needs 5x1 ir 4x1 of space, but now it's taking 5x3 for a switch. I have messaged you before but no actions were taken to fix it. 3 stars until you actually update and fix it.

  10. Kenneth Darling-avatar

s Top 5 on my list of Favorite Android Apps Its simplicity is what makes the experience for the user a pleasant one rather then an exhausting overwhelming mess that every other app that promises this stuff gives. Can you follow the couple of directions when setting up a certain workflow? Absolutely You Can and once it's ready then your good to go on transferring and organizing a much needed device storage.

This app used to be flawless.. Now I'm using the text message part and it doesn't show the difference between read or unread tect messages. Like come onnnnnn.. that sucks. 🙄 am I supposed to tell my virtual assistant hey just go through every single.tect because we have no idea what's read or unread

I'm using the free version primarily for seeing phone and tablet notifications on my PC and occasionally responding to texts. As a senior, it's easier for me to use a keyboard than a phone for texting. Sometimes a use this app to transfer files. I had some problems recently with devices not staying connected so I tried some other similar apps but I'm back on AirDroid. It's much better than the competition. I contacted AirDroid support a couple of days ago concerning connection issues and received a response and followup very quickly. Everything seems to be working well now. Great customer service.

Thank you for mentioning the Android 10 popup so early during the installation, when screen mirroring is started, no matter how inconvenient it is to reach the target cellphone. Remote screen mirroring and control of inaccessible cellphones on a local LAN is the core feature I need. Unfortunately that means Airdroid is largely useless to me. I urge you to work with the Android folks to either suppress, or programmatically dismiss the popup dialog, or don't ask more than once, in the next version of Android.

Outstanding and very useful; easy to use. Thank you This app continues to improve over time and adds value in the process. I find that being able to transfer images from my cell phone to my desktop is extremely useful and very quick to execute - literally drag and drop. Another thing that I find quite useful is the ability to transfer Microsoft Office 365 Data files from my desktop to my cell phone to have the information handy when I don't have a good signal because of where I am when I need the information. This is very helpful. Even though the cloud service is good, if the signal is not, then I don't get the benefit.

Tried the free version, it seemed pretty good. Paid the money, soon after I started getting irregular results with some text messages not showing up on the computer client app. And,,, no MMS support. Difficulty with sending error logs for troubleshooting. Not ready for prime time. Save your money.

  27. Bryan Rosen-avatar

    Bryan Rosen

Probably the worst method of transferring files. It downgraded the video quality, cut it shorter, made the audio crispyer then KFC fried chicken, and has a paywall datacap of only 200mb (which is practically nothing for videos). The web version sucks and is slower then a snail that has been stepped on, and no it's not my PC or internet considering I have a video editing rig and Google fiber. Bad experience overall and a waste of my time.

I tried to use KDE Connect, but the computer and phone couldn't see each other, despite following the directions. I installed Airdroid, and within a few minutes, I had the files that I wanted transferred. This is one of the very few apps I'm willing to pay for.

Tried to connect my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (non-rooted) to my Windows PC... followed all of the instructions multiple times. Usually wouldn't connect but when it did it wouldn't stay. the process of fooling the PC side of AirDroid to see the phone as rooted is a PITA. My main objective was to remote control my S20 from my Galaxy S4. Couldn't get that far. Also, AirDroid requires an internet connection, not just wifi. I need to use it where there is no internet. Bummer.

  48. Steve Kelem-avatar

Confusing to use. Which way are "up" and "down"? Am I uploading to my phone or uploading to my desktop? Keeps running in the background. It got to the point that my phone (LGV20) was too hot to touch! I uninstalled, and the phone cooled down quickly. I suspect that, while I'm driving, it's desperately trying to connect to the mother ship. Poor signal (thanks, Sprint!) means it has to boost the power to reach a cell tower...all for a connection that doesn't need to be made, when I need the battery for more important things, like navigation! Ask me if I want the app to run in the background! Don't just assume that you're the most important app on my phone! I don't use AirDroid more than once a month because of poor performance. It's faster, but inconvenient, to email each photo separately to myself, and extract the photos from my email than to locate and transfer files via AirDroid when my phone is right next to my desktop/laptop.

I'm using it to transfer files between a phone and a computer. Aside from some quirks like creating a nested subfolder for some reason when you drag and drop a folder into the web interface, it seems to just work. No login or other BS needed. Looks like it goes directly over the local network. Good stuff.

Doesn't work as a remote droid to droid mirror. Trying to control a Galaxy phone with a broken screen from a Galaxy Tab and it was too nightmarish to describe to decent people in the daytime hours. Uninstalled app. Awful.

I wanted to wirelessly send some videos (large files) to my ipad to see some footages in a larger screen when I was in areas with unstable internet. This app did not work at all to send videos. All I got was error messages. I could send a text to ipad so it was connected, but not working well with a large file. I could not contact them within 7 days and they aren't refunding me, so I just wasted money for nothing. - FYI: I contacted customer support and received poor support as well.

This app is not working with my computer and is horrible all together. This seems like a low quality data gathering software that could originate from somewhere like China or Russia. Use caution. Also has terrible grammar and spelling throughout. So Bad. Force close, Clear Data and Cache, and then Uninstall. So disappointed in Verizon for recommending this pile. Add to that the price is advertised at $3.99/month but when you check out you are charged $5.69/month for premium.

Someone has been using this app to spy on me, as I'm finding out over the past few days and confirming my suspicions from earlier. Someone installed this app either physically or remotely on my phone and has been using it to remotely record video and audio, while my phone received no notification but a subtle fizzling sound. I would consider this program malware and it was used without my knowledge for an obscene invasion of my privacy over an extended time period. I did not sign into any acc

Was Everything I Needed! .. Until BF Discovered It On His Phone :( though this app makes it all too easy to invade the user's privacy, my intention was to solve my bfs porn addiction. After using the app, his addiction took over rather fast, and he became angry he was no longer able to "get his fix" without being interrupted. You can view the user's phone screen live, and be alerted when user goes to certain pages. Great app for price, but not the best option for a porn addiction deterrent.

This app used to be almost perfect. I mostly use the screenshot live streaming feature for teaching a class at a university. It worked great for this, but with the last update, when I go to full screen, it pushes the screenshot way over the right, cuts off parts of it and places an annoying toolbar at the bottom. If I want a full-screen screenshot, I want the full screen of my tablet (Samsung Note 10) to be visible on the computer, but that is not happening. Very disappointing.

I used this in the past, and I think it has gone backwards... It whines about a service not running on the Samsung S8, with directions that don't work. I cannot find a notification that is not enabled. It does not notify of text messages on the Pc. The Pc widget is a pain to dismiss (it should be as simple as a right click). It can leave a ghost box on the screen. I will probably look for a different solution.

I have used this app for years and loved it. The feature I value most, a someone who is somewhat careless and forgetful, is the Find Phone function. It is really convenient to be able to locate my phone quickly - I'm a student so my phone is typically on silent, and being able to make it ring on command when I've misplaced it is perfect! However, every time the stupid app updates, it turns off all the permissions I've granted it. Which means that every time I misplace my phone and I try to make it ring so I can find it, it tells me the permission is off!! Every time, I will patiently just grant the permission again once I eventually unearth my phone, but EVERY TIME it behaves in this ridiculous manner. Why the hell do you need a separate permission to make the phone RING??? Why have I had to turn on the same permission for the SIXTH TIME IN A YEAR??? Why does this app not remember the permissions I've granted? What is the point of using this app if I have to use my phone to make it work Every Single Time!!

This appears to run fine on Android, but is a huge resource lag in Windows 10, running at 3-7 percent of CPU in the background for no apparent reason. Also, the Windows app can't be installed from the Windows Store, and worse, seems to crash or freeze randomly. The system is no good without the desktop end working properly, even if the Android version seems stable enough. The entire experience feels half baked.

Not bad if it's a sunny day. I cannot send SMS messages when I'm on my PC using it on a cloudy day. BUT I can SOMETIMES send on a cloudy day from my phone itself. It's almost like Airdroid is taking a little more "juice" to get those messages sent. So in short, Airdroid WILL NOT work for sending ANY TYPE of SMS messages, which is the MAIN reason i use it. It's never been different, over the 3-4 years I've had it, using 2-3 different phones. Short message, to the point, only. And I tried using it to get pictures off my phone but it's miserably time consuming. Takes longer to DL using airdroid then rooting around for a cable, plugging it into PC an d doing it htat way. In short, it's not a TERRIBLE app, but it's almost as if it were designed in the late 90's and hasn't been updated since. (Update: creator did ask for more feedback, but honestly, there's nothing more I can add. It simply won't send SMS texts, which is partly due to bad connection in my basement, but at the same time I often CAN send with my phone)

This app, and its PC counterpart, are great for moving files between your phone(s), tablet(s), and personal computer(s). It also allows for remotely controlling or supporting from a distance, but I have only used it while on the same WiFi network, and not over the web. I have questions about the security of transmitting across the web, and weather VPN tunneling is used in that scenario. I have enjoyed using this app, and will likely upgrade to a premium account in the near future.

This used to be a great, easy to use app. Now it's become a complex attempt at money gathering. Even though it appears like it, you can no longer just scan a QR Code and get up and running. It will keep failing and other options and menus will pop up with no explanation why you are failing. You will figure out that maybe if you create an account you can move on. So I did. And it did. But then it failed when I went to transfer some podcasts from my PC. It said to check my settings which are as they say they should be. So I come here to find out at some point I will figure out they want money for the app to even do full file transfers. What a waste of time. Be up front with how your app works. Frustrating people this way will give you a bad rep. I'll never purchase one of your products. Ever.

I thought using this app would make it easier to share files between an Android and an Apple device. Wrong. In the time it took to download the app on both devices, sign up, and figure out how the app worked I could have easily just sent the files over a few emails. Very unfriendly user interface and their Help section didn't help much at all.

This is a very great & useful app. I loved it. The only problem I've with it is I can not access (with Airdroid PC) folders of my phone which have folder names starting with a "." (dot). I know a folder, in android, with a name starting with a "." is meant to be a hidden folder: but I have access to them with my android file browsers. Why is not possible to access them with Airdroid PC? Another thing, pls fix the coping speed or allow the file to be downloaded with download managers. Thank you!

I love this app when I am working on my computer. It allows me to make quick replies to text or other messages and see all my incoming emails. What I don't like is not being able to see outgoing messages not typed from the computer. It would be nice to see all sides of the communications without having to go through my mobile devices or to other apps.

Would be five stars, but I'm not happy with the security options. I need an option to only allow connections when Airdroid is running in the foreground. If I'm signed in on computer, even when I exit airdroid on android, the computer can still connect to airdroid and there appears to be no option to disable that. Why? 1- I don't want to use any battery running an airdroid service since I use it rarely. 2- I don't want the security hole.. I want airdroid service to run only when it's the foreground app (if it's in my pocket in a loud room I wouldn't notice the notification) My current workaround is.. every time I need it: install airdroid, use it, and then uninstall again.

No... Just no. Installed this and was able to connect, but it was extremely slow and terribly buggy. Very non-intuitive. Played with it for a bit on the PC until the whole application locked up and I had to shut it down with the task manager. Tried to uninstall after that, but it said that it was still running and to click OK to shut it down and uninstall. Clicking OK just kept giving me the same option and button doing nothing else. Then had to kill the uninstall with the task manager. Finally was able to expunge this thing from my machine using Revo Uninstaller.

Customer service is everything and sometimes is as important as function. igures; I'm personally not willing to pay $2.99 a month, but the app creators responded to my review in a helpful way, and showed a great amount of respect. Why isn't pricing clearer? The Play Store is like a used car lot and vendors love it. I would like a little more information on pricing other than it will run me between $1.99 and $300. So to find out, I have to install the app configure everything on my Android, PC, wait to find out what I'm going to be charged, is it a one time fee or subscription etc. I don't have time for that. My only real complaint is that it won't let me reply to messages from third party apps from my pc. Everything else about this app is great. Loved Airdroid for years. It was the quick and easy way to get files off my phone to my local computer. Now the developers seem to have added dozens of features that I don't need and there are ads everywhere. I spent a 5 minutes trying to find the screen where the app gives you the ip address of your phone, you point a browser there and could move files. Couldn't find it and I'm not interested in upgrading to get it back. We need something else like airdroid used to be. Plain, simple, easy. Update: Thank you to the developer for pointing out how to find the ip address screen.

I like the opportunity of having this app since it's almost impossible for me to connect my Mac to my Android device otherwise, but Airdroid keeps crashing/freezing. It happens several times a day. I always have to end the tasks manually, too, because closing the app isn't enough since it continues to run in the background somehow. It's really obnoxious. I have a subscription and I might just be done with it if it keeps crashing like that.

AirDroid is a pretty good way to broadcat and control your devices remotely. You don't need to do anything drastic to connect your devices, and it's easy to set up (~15 minutes). However, it has about 0.25-0.5 second delay and low quality if you do not have the pro version purchased. Overall, it is an easy way to display your devices and control them, free or purchased.

I don't give 5 star reviews for anything, but this app is well worth the 4! If it weren't for the annoying ads, I would say worth 4.5 stars. I was looking for a backup Utility that was not cloud based since I'm not a fan of giving my data to others to save - I will never use a cloud service to store my personal data/information! So, I found this app and glad I did. It was easy to set up, the client app was also very easy. The only thing I'm not a fan of in the app is creating an account - fortunately you don't have to create an account to back up to a PC with the "Fast Access" option. If you're looking for a backup utility that is NOT cloud or internet based this is the tool!

App does not quit when using back button. Notification remains stating that the AirDroid service is still running. Also no quit button in app settings. you have to force quit the app from Android System settings. This seems shady and invasive. I know that google requires apps that run in the back ground to show a notification. The issue here is that there is no way to actually quit from within the app its self so that it stops running in the background.

I'm using Android Pie and Mac 10.3.5. The AirDroid connection to the remote tablet lasts 20-45 minutes before it drops for no apparent reason. Then you have to click through a couple of screens to reconnect the session. The only good thing I can see about this is that at least you don't have to use USB to setup the connection again, like Vysor. April 8, 2019 Still requires that you reconnect with USB every time you reboot or restart the app. I'd pay for a non-root method that does not require using USB more than once.

Pure frustration. I've changed from a Samsung Note 4 to a Note 9. You would think the upgrade would be easy and simple. The web version just keeps trying to connect to the Note 4 which no longer exists. I'm logged into Airdroid on the Note 9 with my credentials, and so you would think the Web Airdroid could catch a clue that that might be what I use now. But, no, it keeps looking for the Note 4 and never gives me the chance to tell it to look for the Note 9. It's as if they never tested this.

I would advise EXTREME CAUTION if you decide to use this app. It essentially gives access of your entire phone to the developer (or who knows). A huge red flag of the app is the developer's poor grammar, sometimes an indication of a foreign developer (guessing Russian or Chinese). It works, but is it worth the risk? They pulled a bait & switch but I didn't see it til I paid. 2nd to last screen when buying it had the price as $2.99/mth. I assumed that meant I would pay $2.99/mth. Nope. It was $3.99/mth. After starting it, it became apparent I'd need an app on the TV also. Not possible. Airdroid never explained the screen mirroring process. I then sent a request for a refund that was promptly denied. So I paid $3.99 for an app that wasn't worth $2.99 to me. It's companies like these the BBB came to be.

There's no reason I should have to sign in. Really disappointing even if I do end up getting logged in. 200MBs remote transfer limit for free account? You guys are absolutely out of your minds. This app is the best of the many that allow you to SMS from devices other than your phone. But it is so much more than that. File sharing is easier than any other solution I have used for example. There is a whole suite of functionality to enhance your multiscreen life. My only issue is that it does not do MMS. But at least we know. Other apps say they do it but it proves to be quite unreliable.

Bought the full version because it can be used on both iOS and Android. Luckily, it was only a partial waste of money. Connection random drops and does not re-connect while using AirDroid Web. Mobile app says it's connected, but browser says it's disconnected. I have to go into my phone and bring the app up even though the app and services are always running in the background and and it isn't subjected to data save. I can install the desktop version, but it's clunky and I don't want to install it on every device I use. Leaving my screen on while using AirDroid simply isn't a viable option. Please do better!

This would be an outstanding app if it were for two things: 1. The transfer speeds were much better/quicker. They are quite slow, especially for a paid app that supports wireless. 2. A free version of the app, maybe offering even lower transfer rates, ads, etc.

Used to be pretty cool back in the day, you could connect directly to your IP address, but now it's pretty locked down, behind a pay-wall, with a 200 MB (yes, megabyte) usage limit. Enabling screen casting didn't work, but with a 200mb limit probably would have stopped working after 2 minutes anyway. I uninstalled after seeing the new data restrictions. I Won't use it enough to justify paying and it's useless as a free app at 200mb. I already pay for data

You get to do what you need to on this app. You can establish a stable connection between your mobile phone and computer, and can use either one to view & send the phones files. doesn't work if you don't let phone calls permission. it shouldn't ask for this, it's just file transfer. upd: ask your devs to implement this as a separate feature and require permission only if i want to transfer between other platforms. phone calls doesn't help you identify anything but my phone calls numbers. don't lie to users.

It works most of the time, and the interface is decent, but it pushes you to sign for an account and won't work at all without granting permission to make phone calls and examine your call history. Why?? I just want to transfer files between devices. No thank you.

UPDATE. I uninstalled, rebooted, and re-installed. No diff. Tried account. No apparent advantage over Web. Not against ads but greeted by ad when needed help getting started. App started to treat individuals in group conversations individually, so had to return to phone texting. On an S9+. Disappointing. ORIG: Airdroid would not display all my text messages. Some recent ones it did; others it didn't. Sometimes it would not connect via the http. I had high hopes. Quite a disappointment.

Unable to find my device. same account on computer and new phone, followed the instructions exactly, unable to find my phone. But for some reason has a death grip on my old phone and won't let it go. Try "lite mode" if no connection. No direction on what that is or how to do it. Oh. Gee. Thanks.

Was cool, but had to delete because I couldn't get rid of the creepy "Notification Services running" notification. Can't figure out how to stop it, and tapping it takes me to "My Devices". I'm not a huge fan of unidentifiable notifications, since this app gives people remote access into my device.

Deleted app because of suspicious behaviour. I haven't used AirDroid in months. I did not use it last night either. Yet, this morning, somehow it was active on my phone. An app that requires permission to access files on my device magically activates itself when I haven't used it in months? No, thanks.
