As of the 12/7/21 app update, ATSC 3.0 channels crash the app. Still no ability to watch OTA (over the air) TV when the internet or station programming server is down. I have to use the Live Channels Google app to use my HDHomeRun tuner. I put in a request months ago and so far no change. I am disappointed HDHomeRun sells a product that allows you to watch free local TV, but still is dependent on server and internet connectivity with their app. At least Google appears it can get it right.

Totally dead on Note 10+. Black screen, then after a few seconds message appears: Unable to play channel, no video data.

A miserable buggy app. I can't believe how awful this app is. It crashes every time I change the video encoding setting of the app on my Galaxy Fold 3 and the user interface is a buggy broken mess.

It works most of the time. No issues with video audio sync. I would like to see more control of the video quality, right now it only has (low & med)

  5. Jason Labean-avatar

Doesn't work without an internet connection. Home network is up but ISP is down. Seems crazy that an internet connection is required to watch OTA TV!

No audio on ATSC 3.0 channels on Pixel 6 using Android 12. Works on Android 11 on different phone.

Cannot find device on network and no way to enter the IP address. End up using Channels DVR or Plex since they see the device. Of there was an option to just tell the app where to look, there would not be an issue.

Ignore the 1 star reviews, they are from people who don't understand that this app is a complement to a piece of hardware you buy. It's rough around the edges, but very useful. Development seems to be pretty slow. It doesn't support portrait orientation or minimizing to a floating window, limiting how useful it is for multitasking on the phone. But the core feature of streaming from your antenna to any device on your home network is awesome, and allows me to watch the Olympics in bed. 3.5/5

  9. Frank Catalano-avatar

Doesn't work, just use Plex. Unfortunately this app simply will not connect to my HD home run flex. It offers no way of picking the device if it doesn't detect it it does work. So it doesn't work.... wish there was a way to point it to the device or a way to do trouble shooting but alas 2 buttons retry or give up.

While the app works fine in some cases, and I actually like the interface, the fact that HEVC encoded channels won't play audio is a real problem which needs to be addressed. It renders the device partially useless in ATSC 3.0 markets such as mine.
