I've tried many other news reader app but keep coming back to Taptu. I use it daily because of it's simple to use & aggregates the news really well. This app haven't been updated in a while so I wish the developers haven't abandon it. Hopefully they'll add a few features in the future such as full screen mode for Kit Kat & server side image compression to reduce data usage.

Nice program. Fast and can merge streams easily unlike flipboard but needs golloeing modifications. Add option to view individual stream stories or selective stories like pulse. Better seatch because some rss feeds can not be seen through bing search. n.b.you can add rss through direct adress which is unique tothis program. The facebook should show friend post and not only pages. Where is google+ stream. last the option of card view like fredly should be allowed.

I was surprised by how hard it is to come by good apps that can show home screen widgets for your social networks. I like this one because it does that. There is an odd lack of features in some places, like that you can't favorite a tweet from within the app, (though you can bookmark it, which is a taptu-only thing.) You can view a linked article directly in the app for twitter, but not for Facebook. Still, I'd say this app was the best I found for what I use it for.

It will not let me log into my linked in account in order to get the feed, but facebook, twitter and other feeds do work well. Also, sometimes when you click on an item in the stream it just shows the loading wheel forever and you have to go back to the previous screen, which is already updated, so you can never find that item again. Aside from these bugs it's pretty useful and the widgets are good looking and really customisable.

Used to be the best! All sorts of news that is easily accessible....I used to love taptu but consistently recently I keep getting service errors. I restart my phone thinking it's the phone... But no--all other apps work well. For some reason for the past month Taptu has not been the same. Uninstalling until fixed.

Image captions should not appear randomly throughout each article, they should only appear underneath the image and perhaps in a different color/font to stand out from the article text. Should be a setting where every article always opens in Chrome as opposed to having to press the view in browser button every time. Articles with videos in them should show the video a either allow us to play or let us click to open bid in external app (YouTube etc).

Swiping is not fluid; sometimes sticks. Most articles don't have enough detail. Also, the pictures don't always match the stories; often uses the same pic for several different stories. But overall this is a good app. It's free, and doesn't stick ads in your face like flipboard. It allows a lot of customization for feeds. I got rid of Flipboard and now use this instead.

This is what I've been looking for for such a long time. The "merge streams" is exactly what I wanted. This replaces Pulse, Flipboard, Currents, and feedly all at once +Update+ Two things: would be super if you could select text within articles, and also if long pressing links within articles would bring up the share menu

Hi Taptu team! I have to say I've been using your app for a long time (can't even remember a time without it). I love it and was sad to see the message on the app that it's being retired. If you open source it, I will become a contributor. If not, I might have to start coding a replacement. I have to say I've tried feedly, g2reader, flipboard, and news republic but I can't find anything even remotely good besides Taptu.

Twitter gives 403 error, time zone missing. I don't know what to do with that. And it would be great if you include VK (the most popular social network in Russia). I know it is not so difficult, but this increases russian audience significantly!
