Microsoft Edge, now available on Android, creates one continuous browsing experience for Windows 10 users across their devices. Content and data sync seamlessly in the background, so users can browse across devices, without skipping a beat. Familiar Microsoft Edge features like the Hub allow users to organize the web in a way that cuts through the clutter, making it easier to find, view and manage their content on-the-go. Microsoft Edge is designed for Windows 10 users to browse the web how they need to, wherever they are, without disrupting their flow.

Continue on PC: Go anywhere and pick up where you left off by seamlessly moving content between your mobile device and PC (requires Windows 10 Fall Creator’s Update).

Data Sync: Your favourites, passwords and reading list are synced across your devices, so no matter the device, your browser is always personalised to you.

Hub View: With your favourites, reading list, history and books all in one place, finding and managing your content is made simple.

QR Code Reader: Easily read QR codes at the touch of a button. Microsoft Edge will pull up the reading and information right onto your screen.

Voice Search: You can now use your voice to search the web. Ask a question or speak a prompt to use the web in more natural, familiar ways.

InPrivate: When you browse with InPrivate mode, your browsing data (like your history, temporary internet files and cookies) isn't saved on your PC once you've finished.

It's fast, it looks good, and the sync to my laptop works very well, especially the "send to device" option. All in all I'm incredibly happy with the effort MS has put into this browser (when it works), but for some reason it keeps crashing certain tabs, forcing me to reload. Have tried reinstalling, but error keeps coming back. If they fix this, I'll revisit the review and up the score

Ok. So finally managed to login to my account. Not bad, but I'd have preferred if the most visited sites had similar shaped icons and if we could choose which sites would appear there. Also didn't like the layout of the menu. I think the mobile version needs to resemble Chrome browser both aesthetically and utility wise. Hopefully a future version will come along which will appeal to me more.

  3. Marek Šlahor-avatar

Excellent browser, the UI feels much faster compared to Chrome or Firefox. What's a bit strange and hard to understand is the synchronization of browsing history and a list of opened tabs between the Edge mobile and Edge for Windows 10. It was fine for the old Edge (legacy), but since I upgraded to the new Chromium version, hmmm... (and yes, I've switched to the new Edge in the sync settings)

  4. Aron Jones-avatar

A good browser. Easy to use, enjoyable ... and you can tailor it slightly to fit your preference. My favourite part of it is; not only can you exclude the many vile, info-thieving 'third party cookies', but you can set Edge to clear as little or as much browsing data, site data and cookies - on exit. For that alone ... "It's a yes from me." 😊👍

I too have the 10% loading freeze as another review wrote, for long time It's mostly noticeable not long opening the app, but can continue to happen, mostly random new tabs, but not just then either. I can't pin point a particular website. After the site finally loads, it's often faster but other browsers remain so much faster I've also been told random sites aren't safe to open, including the Xbox website. I've still to use the browser and Bing (though results are mainly US not UK) Please fix!

  6. A Google user-avatar

Top and bottom bars? Check. Fully customizable menus? Bingo. Boatloads of features? Of course! This browser is so good, I disabled Chrome, and that was even before Edge's latest UI upgrade. Even if you aren't going to use Edge on your desktop or laptop, you need this mobile browser. It has not crashed or failed me since I first downloaded it. I wish I could give it six or seven stars. It is one of, if not the, best apps on my phone

Honestly I didn't expect Microsoft Edge to be that good! It's fast, works well, shows less advertisement compared to Google Chrome and has the main bar at the bottom that really makes sense when having a phone with big screen ! I don't know why Google Chrome keeps the same issues instead of fixing them but, hey, I switched from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge and I'm happy! Well done Microsoft.

  8. Jasim Afnan-avatar

The passwords are not syncing across the device..I complained it, but they didn't resolve it.... thought it would be better than chrome...seems like it's a better replacement , but due to the issues with synchronization I'm switching back to chrome.....I hope you resolve the issue .... I'm ready to try for once more.... Goodbye for now.....

  9. Robert LaBella-avatar

Very good app, much better organization in the hamburger pull-down (top right) than previous versions. Settings are easily configured. Extensions from the Edge Extensions Store are easy to install and helpful. I miss the OneNote integration concept wrt the ability to highlight on screen and add notes whole browsing but since that never really worked well in prior versions, the OneNote extension works just fine.

  10. Kelly Starns-avatar

Problems first: Not as fast as Chrome, and I seem to be having trouble with favorites. My favorites bar was on the browser, but now I only have mobile favorites. Not sure how to fix it, but I'm making do. Overall, I like the privacy and ad blocker, so I'll stick with it for a while longer.

  11. Mi Do-avatar

Everyone can visit: ( BrowserGood. Com ) to install the best browser app. It's BLOCK ADS PRIVACY and FASTER. I would like to congratulate Microsoft for making their browser not suck. It still has a few things that could be improved on but I am very impressed by how much more useful it is. (Still not gonna search with bing. Sorry) gonna switch the default browser in my computer too

Well it's exceptional in its own words. I used this app for almost a month but one small thing is annoying me. Translation. Online webpage translation it sucks. Chrome is way better in this aspect. Well if you fix this (by supporting Google translate or maybe something better) I will definitely come back.

These are the options that will be a plus for me 1. Very important; a SEARCH option to search for a particular domain/url whiles in the password. You have this option on PC. I don't see one for mobile. 2. An option to auto generate passwords in password fields. 3. A VPN So far it is my go-to mobile browser except when I need to search and copy a password from my account, whiles on mobile.

  14. TheRedFox-avatar

This Edge is so much better than the original Edge. Before the original edge came out, I was exclusively an Internet Explorer user. But when Edge came out, I was disappointed, this caused me to switch to Chrome. But now that the new Edge is out, I can safely say that the new Edge is my browser of choice. Good job, Microsoft.

  15. Bryan Robinson-avatar

I really would like to use it as my primary browser, but the loading bar seems to get stuck at around 10% when trying to go to a page. It will eventually load, but the delay is very irritating. Chrome does not do this. If that is fixed I would continue to use it. Edit: I can mostly replicate the issue when searching from the address bar- default search is set to Google. The loading bar sits at around 10% for maybe 30 seconds then eventually loads the search results. Does not happen every time.

Please remove the navigation menu as android has a default navigation menu at the bottom and move the settings menu from bottom to right to the new tab page settings like Google Chrome! I used to like Edge but after the last breaking design change does not feel comfortable with Edge. Moreover, news feed thumbnails are too small too read. Please make one thumbnail per row like Google Chrome. Thank you.

The browsing experience on this sleek, beautiful, easily customizable new interface is delightful. The bookmark manager on the mobile version is weird enough, better than the one on the Windows version. What I'd really love is to have more third party extensions (esp. anti-tracking ones). I enjoy using Edge for light reading/browsing on my mobile device, the sync works great & fast, but it still has some catching up to Firefox on the adds-on front to be my default cross platform browser.

  19. Greg Allen-avatar

Pretty solid browser. Like it's tab system though wish you got a thumbnail for all tabs -- sometimes you get placeholder. That quick nav at the bottom is leaps and bounds better than Chrome and has a bit more utility than Brave. Have also had issues with it playing certain videos that are playable in vanilla chrome.

  20. Cara Cheryl-avatar

Everyone can visit: ( BrowserGood. Com ) to install the best browser app. It's BLOCK ADS, RPIVACY and FASTER. Most Microsoft products just work well for me, whether it be windows, outlook, office, their mobile launcher and browser etc. Very approachable, very predictable, professional software. Some would argue the GOAT when considering Windows, Office, and Outlook. I have been using Microsofts extremely flexible products since I touched a computer.

  21. Brad H-avatar

No support! Ever since the last update, bookmarks gets stuck in a sub folder. It only will randomly go back to the main bookmark folder. I contacted Microsoft and got no reply. I have no access to the other 90% of my bookmarks. Edge is close to uninstall.

Typical Microsoft bloatware. 256MB memory usage compared with chrome at 113 MB. The address in the address box, being I presume an omnibox, has not provided a facility to edit the address. For me me this would prove to be a continual frustration. It does seem to be slightly quicker than chrome and does not freeze the way chrome does incessantly. I tried edge as an alternative to chrome as I have found chrome dysfunctional in the way that locks up. I would not recommend either of these browsers.

  23. Alex Rivas-avatar

It's a very good browser, it is smooth and doesn't have any lag. However it should have some couple of functionalities more. For example you should add a dark mode for websites. Ahh other thing is make able to edit the link in the bar address, it appears only in blank now and we have to copy and paste the link for editing

  24. William Clark-avatar

Actually a really great browser. I have switched over to using this on all of my devices instead of chrome. The cross compatibility is immense and operation is more clean and security focused. One of my favorite features that blow chrome apps out of the water are PWA's (persistent web apps). Only thing I could ask for is that more syncs between the different clients like extensions etc.

  25. Wuhan Virus-avatar

Everyone should visit: ( BrowserGood. Com ) to install the best browser app. It's BLOCK ADS, PRIVACY and FASTER. My favourite browser. My Blackberry Key2 came with this preinstalled. It's funny how relieving it is to be able to search and not create a new tab. It's prevented my 'million tab' issue. I primarily use it for quick searches, then if I want to save the search I either open it in Chrome or save the page to evernote

  26. Mystogan-avatar

Just a single issue that I noticed, it downloads images to the data folder, therefore it doesn't show up in my images and makes it very difficult to get downloaded items, could you please make it download to the default downloads folder or add an option to choose the location, thanks!

  27. Chris Jones-avatar

I didn't expect to really USE this. I installed it just to see what it looked like, curiosity having gotten me. But this is REALLY GOOD. I've actually made it my default browser. I had been using Brave but certain UI bits were somewhat annoying to me and I'm finding the layout in Edge to be good for me.

  28. Dave Bentley-avatar

I have my home page set to custom and everything is off. When I touch the search bar it moves to the top. Why is there icons for garbage underneath this. Don't want it Can't remove them Let the user remove them. So want to get away from chrome but little things like that are stopping me Just updated and still can't remove the spam icons from the home page Uninstalled

  29. KUNG FLU PANDA-avatar

I would give it five stars but when you download something and click on the notification it brings you to the download page in the browser instead of opening what you downloaded... And once you choose a download location (i.e. sd card) you are unable to change it. Until that's fixed... UNO ESTRELLA ESE

  30. C G-avatar

It is my default browser on phone from a long time and I like its responsiveness, UI and features like adblock, sync. However, I recently also used Opera and absolutely loved their dark theme which also extends over the web pages we open. That feature should also be included in Edge as it is a very useful and much needed UI element.

Not bad!! In contrast to the previous Edge the idea of having the menu items at the bottom of the browser works well! I can conveniently keep lists of previous browsers searches without refreshing the browser...very nice. I'm still using the browser. Be prepared for further updates....

  32. Terraj-avatar

Works fine with an easy to use interface, my ONLY problem is that the "multi-tab page view" is reversed, so most recent pages own are at the top instead of the bottom. If there was a way to switch it, I would give 5-stars.

  33. Xryzxn-avatar

horrible, it says clear all browsing data on exit, what does it mean when you exit the app? do you really have to go press "exit app"? or just clearing it from task also exits the app? I dont get it woth this app, no difference from firefox. whn i exit the app it saves my browsing data unless i press the exit app button. but it is still in my tasks. so how is that really exiting the app when its in my tasks? id rather kill the app in tasks than exiting through app but it stays in my tasks.

  34. Sourav Das-avatar

I love Edge! But, when I use Edge for Facebook, it is not showing like(love, angry etc) icons. Also videos are being played from after 5 sec on Facebook! I'm using Redmi K20 Pro, fix that otherwise I'll need to switch back to Chrome (which I don't want). Thanks

Decided to try Edge a month ago because Chrome kept killing my battery and honestly it was best decision I had made in a while. I can't tell the difference between the two performance wise and my battery lasts atleast 4x as long. Seems like Microsoft really got it right with this one.

  36. Keenan Austin-avatar

This browser is for some reason locked at 60hz. It looks terrible. Please update for use on 90hz and 120hz screens. Otherwise, I really like it. Just can't really recommend until this is corrected though, since other major browsers have this feature.

  37. Enea Çoku-avatar

Runs a bit sluggish, feels like its unbaked app. Crashes a lot on a daily basis even though I try to update it every time. Other than that its pretty intuitive, has great potential and its sync features with the new edge for pc are great. It can be the nomber one alternative if they fix these crashes and stutters.

  38. Jim Mski-avatar

I really liked Chrome, but didn't like Google having my search info, but now I just let Microsoft have it. Edge works very well, don't know what else to say, it's a great browser. Highly recommend.

  39. Mahendra Kumar-avatar

Really good browser but my phone screen is set to 90 Hertz and while scrolling through content on the browser it's extremely laggy and doesn't feel like it's on 90 hertz. Don't have this problem on Google Chrome though, scrolling seems smooth there.

  40. Morgan Field-avatar

Fantastic! Comes in the Spanish language with lots of interesting articles about all kinds of subjects. Pleased I can translate into English if I don't understand the Spanish. I wish it were easier to hop between both languages.

Great engine searching application.Have been on different other ones and am satisfied with it.Have kept installed for sometime and no thought of uninstalling.Having a problem bringing it up sometimes but not due to application not functioning.Nice suggestion articles to choose from or do my own search.

  42. Hidde Moll-avatar

The browser is slow on my phone, partly due to having too many animations. Animations for the bottom menu button are too slow which makes the browser feel sluggish. Would love to see the possibility to turn down/off animations.

Update March 20. Syncing this with desktop no longer works. Had to go to other browser till it all works again. Tried everything for past 2 or 3 weeks but nothing solves problem. Sept 19.Works very well and early issues seem to be gone.

Nice Alternative to Chrome, even though based on the same frame work, I'm the type of guy that likes to switch things up every now and then, and this works. Mainstream, yet different

  46. dogmaJo-avatar

Great browser with annoying bugs. For example: when I watch YouTube videos through the browser & like/comment, after that I'm unable to scroll up or down, I have to reload the page again.

  47. woojae jang-avatar

So far, better than chrome Chrome's been having some issue with Web pages not rendering and not saving the preferences properly, even after multiple re-install. Downloaded Edge and all those problems are gone.

  48. Neon Gigolo-avatar

It's my primary browser now but there is one thing that keeps it from being a 5 star service. The integration of Google pay or Microsoft pay (which technically doesn't exist)

World's apart from what edge used to be... Amazing in comparison, I even use it in place of my original browser on my PC (Chrome/Firefox for PC), the Android app is, I feel, a superior browser.

  55. Arturo Pardo-avatar

Never thought I would say this, but Microsoft Edge has become my number one browser on all platforms. Faster than Chrome and Firefox, compatible with everything Chrome, amazing.

  56. Eli Vst-avatar

Would be good but the bottom enormous bar (with back/forward, setting, share buttons...) doesn't have a way to temporarily close it OR minimise it OR move it AND it covers essential buttons of some browsers. Useless!

Hello! Microsoft team. Very good! There is an issue when download something; you cannot find it out in the device storage. Tasted on Mi A2. Thanks.

  58. Hazel-avatar

Mostly snappy and performs well. One issue - the first time I use Edge, after not having used it in a while, the page takes extremely long to load (>10s).

Just fabulous. Was a little disappointed when they started using the same base as Google Chrome but great job. Fast and intuitive.

I like it, I have this, Kiwi and Lightning on my phone and I find myself using this more and more. The Adblock works very well.

Until now i enjoy it so much, it's smooth, fast an the design it's pretty cool. I can sync the mobile and desktop version which it's a plus.

  62. Gaurav Pandey-avatar

This is so better than chrome right now.. seamless experience with useful features. My only issue is that downloaded files are not available in default download folder of android.

  63. mark eright-avatar

So far so good. Also a big plus for Microsoft Edge is the fact that it works properly for the DMV website, where Chrome does not.

  64. Tony Fok-avatar

Why are there Chinese characters when I hover my s-pen over the navigation buttons on the bottom if the browser? Pressing Back does not return me to the same position on the previous page. This use to work but not anymore!

  65. AJ Perkins-avatar

I love this app. MS have really pulled it out of the bag with this browser. It's fast and linked with the desktop app it's seamless.

Quite pleased! After being a Chrome and Firefox user for several years, I found the new Edge really familiar, with great integration between mobile and desktop apps.

Hi, I wanna congratulate you for creating the one of the best browsers for Android. After switching from chrome, I miss only one thing - chrome flags. With this feature, Edge would be unbeatable.

  68. Physics Man-avatar

One of best browsers. Yes, even now , it deserves five stars. I request Microsoft to make Phone app, calendar app, people app etc so that professional people can switch between phone & pc.

  69. Jethro Minnie-avatar

The settings have much more versatility than Chrome's. I.e. Clearing browser history upon closing so your search suggestions don't get clogged up, and other exclusive features.

  70. Dale Moss-avatar

Just as easy as using every other IE but just like most user application I dont see why programmers have to move menus around and you have to re find them. But it's not bad.

  71. Game Shark-avatar

I like the app. I use it daily for all my Internet things. It's more compatible with the places I visit than Chrome, so I love it.

  72. Drew Kamper-avatar

Can almost always find exactly what I'm looking for. The only way it could improve would to be understand the phonetics of my line of thinking. Lol

  73. Herman Mueller-avatar

Best browser that Microsoft has ever created. Love the performance and the fact that it is cross platform. Would love to get a Linux version as well.

  74. Joe Gannotti-avatar

Great! It has been updated, but still some websites say it doesn't use edge and some pages may not work properly.

  75. Kyaw Win-avatar

I had to settle for Android phone after Microsoft stop making Windows phones. My desktop, laptop and tablet are all Windows and I only used Microsoft Edge. I don't use any other browsers. On my Android phone most of my apps are Microsoft apps. Microsoft Edge is safe and super fast.

  76. Brihaspathi-avatar

Its faster than its counterparts. However, some sites aren't accepting this hoast. Needs to be fixed. Its otherwise awesome.

  77. Damon Crawford-avatar

I enjoy how multiple tabs work, with them all being on one page. I haven't gone to a page yet that didn't render correctly. AA+++++

  78. Curtis Wyatt-avatar

Works great, but I wish it would integrate with Lastpass better. I also wish there was a scroll bar to easily navigate long pages.

  79. Sam Shendre-avatar

For so long I was looking for a browser which could act as a replacement of Chrome. No, I don't hate Chrome it's perfectly fine, it's just I was looking for a different experience with best of the features. If you want to have smooth user experience, a good reading mode and most importantly a built in ad blocker then EDGE is for you.

Tap on any word to trigger a contextual search and get results without leaving the page. • Choose to sync your favorites, passwords and other data with the new Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Edge Legacy. • Customize the layout of a new tab page. • Tracking prevention: Select a Basic, Balanced, or Strict amount of blocking. We’ve also made some general bug fixes and performance improvements.

Using edge on all of my devices. On par with chrome with some bonuses. Most importantly light footprint especially desktop version. Does not eat as much ram.

  83. Erin Hastings-avatar

Great browser and cash rewards for searching. I've earned several years of free Xbox live just from using Edge on mobile, home, and work PC. 👍👍👍

Review for: Chromium Edge (latest build as of 2-29-2020) on LG G7 ThinQ with Android 9. Favourites get stuck! Example, I select website A in folder 5 in my Favourites. Page will load. Next, I tap on the Favourites icon in Edge to go to another website and I can not use the < key to reverse to go back (step back from Folder 5 to the main Favourites folder). Instead it will just go back to the web page. The "<" key should let me go in reverse up the hierarchy of my Favourites like it did before. The Favourites get stuck at whatever last hyperlink in whatever folder it's in. I can't navigate my Favourites! I've tried everything. Reinstall, clear data, cache, restart the LG G7 ThinQ. Tried signed-in, signed-out, legacy, new Edge sync, nothing works. So, the browser is useless. Personally, I don't like the "Honey" add-on. For me, that's just another data-mining spyware. For performance, browsing, Edge works as advertised. I'm stumped on why I'm unable to navigate my Favourites. Hard to pinpoint what's causing it.

  85. Joe Wainaina-avatar

Great to use all round, never crashed on me and it's quite smooth using. Overall it's a great experience.

  86. Bob LaPierre-avatar

Never thought I'd say that I love an MS browser, but here I am. Switching to the chromium engine was the best thing they could have done.

  87. Zack Garten-avatar

Migrated from Chrome. Seems to function almost identical on both desktop and mobile platforms. Uses 1/3rd the amount of system ram on desktop 👍.

  88. John Chien-avatar

Latest version has news in the lower half of home page. No way to turn it off, so it wastes my limited data. Trashing Edge for Firefox.

  89. Yee Kien Lee-avatar

Smooth experience, the only drawback that causes me to switch to other browsers is the ABSENCE OF A DARK MODE FOR WED CONTENTS/PAGES, other than that pretty good!

  90. Ameen Wassif-avatar

All what you need from a browser and a search engine, very fast to load, gives the same search results as Google, neat look, abd more.

  91. Peter Shea-avatar

Has some nice points, like the tabs summary page, bit so SLOW when loading pages with JavaScript in comparison to Chrome, I ended up uninstalling it.

  92. David Shoopman-avatar

Absolute garbage. Constantly buggy. Quit while you're ahead Microsoft. Scrap the entire browser and quit trying to force it on people.

Almost ready to switch to edge. One big problem. When I click a link in my email, I get stuck. I cant bookmark or anything. It's like a temporary browser is opened with no option to open in edge. Opera and chrome didn't have this problem. Also I prefer new tabs opened to be at the bottom of the list. It seems the tab order is so backwards. Other than that, I would say the browser is fast and solid.

  94. Kegan Turnbull-avatar

Do like the edge browser. Much better than old explorer browser. Love the favorites bar. Like Google chrome browser but like edge just little more.

  98. Miha Jereb-avatar

EDIT: from 5 to 4 stars - when typing in the url bar, the whole page you just visited is covered by the url suggestion popup. Disabling this in the settings doesnt work. This way you can't search for keywords you see on the page (some pages like Alibaba disabled text select/copy). Easy accessible "bottom bar" menu with many many usefull features, left-right swipe to go back/forward, easy sync of bookmarks, certificates and password from your old browser that you can uninstall right after.

  99. Biju G-avatar

Browser is got smooth running ...It would have been 5☆ but recent menu updates make it bit messy..You need to press more to read your favourite webs...MS Try to make it more simple

  100. John Perez-avatar

The browser is phenomenal, but there are now three things I think you guys should add. 1. Extension support here on the mobile version would be really great, 2. The ability to add a new search engine to use as default instead of the pre-existing search engines that you guys have available and 3. A built in password generator (like what Chrome and Firefox have) for the mobile and even desktop versions of this browser.
