Got faster in just a month. And fixed is the captive webview issue with LastPass not detecting the website correctly to get credentials. Not fixed: the main menu is not innovative, it's just plain annoying and redundant. The Edge-specific features aren't a value add, I'm in it for privacy and chromium compatibility and desktop pc unification. I wish the energy spent on Collections, Rewards, Honey, Newsguard, Reading List, Shopping, and other useless clutter we're spent fixing this awful menu.

review Please make the animations better. The animations are really bad (or non existent). Also make the tab switching better. Make the squares at the bottom since phones are very tall these days. Also give a home button at the bottom. Also please give option to not show mostly visited sites when you tap on the search bar. I will change my review to 5 🌟 in the future.

  3. off911-avatar

for mac Works fine, but the homepage is half baked rendering it useless. You can set one in the settings, but you cannot use it as an actual homepage. You have to use Microsoft's default home screen, that I dislike. While on that page, the homepage button (for the one you set) is grayed out. Still, I like the fact that you can disable the tab restoring (continue browsing). Still better than Chrome, Firefox or Opera

windows Pros: embedded ad blocking, options to limit tracking, read aloud (my fav), ms rewards. Cons: Does not support 3rd party password mgmt like norton password manager, does not open links in external apps like youtube videos for example, and as much as I'd like to use bing as a search engine, to boost competition, its results are not nearly as optimized as google's, you can't define more than one language for preferred results. It forces english on you even for foreign searches.

apk I think the page layout could be a little different, also have a few ideas for interactions that could help make it more user-friendly. I think that Microsoft is a leader in cutting (Edge) tech that has top notch security. I hope to see Edge step up in providing security for more then just your site but the whole phone, computer, or tablet. SSm

free download Almost perfect. I've been using Opera lately (still using it though) because of its other perks; Night Mode & Built-in VPN. I don't have much of a problem in Edge, but it would be good for my eyes (and for others too) to have a Night mode. Another option is Extension Store (like the one in Mozilla). I don't know how Mozilla managed to do it, but they have extensions for their mobile browser. I hope Edge team will at least listen to our review and doesn't repeat the Microsoft Launcher fiasco.

app It's slow compared to chrome. That's kind of annoying. If I search something on an already opened tab it takes ages to load. I tried to switch from chrome to edge several times. But I can't . The speed is low. I can't bear it. Please fix this issue. I love the features edge offers. I really wanna switch. But speed is a big issue.

control Have run the update today. Please explain why when I select a website from the search page and then go back to the search page, it takes me back to the top of the search page so I have to scroll down again, please correct this, wastes my time because I have to look at information that I've already seen.

I know it will take a while for edge to get perfected. I'd say it's biggest quirk is that it won't let you save any media to the common 'download' folder, but within the app's internal system folder instead. This means you can't access any downloaded content from any other app 'easily' and also with that logic you'll lose any downloaded content when you uninstall the app. I've had to resort to screenshots, which also fails with OnePlus's expanded screenshot feature. Please fix it. I'll try beta

Not as fast as Chrome (awaiting experimental flags though), but otherwise it's fantastic and perfectly integrated with Edge on my laptop. *Why not 5 stars: when I have multiple tabs open, when switching to multiview the UI should snap to the tab I was just on, not all the way to the top. I may have 50+ tabs open that now have to be scrolled through. At least create the option for this. Thanks.

  11. Eric Peltzer-avatar

    Eric Peltzer

Tab management is primitive. No close X on other tabs, only on the current one. No "close other tabs" option. So you have to go to each tab, and close it individually. Very tedious. Can't pin a tab. Would like to be able to slide Collections open and closed quickly. When open, it's in the way. Would prefer an actual page refresh button without having to open a menu or scroll to top of screen. Syncs well with other machines, probably the best thing about Edge.

  12. Joe March-avatar

The Browser is actually very good. I am using it more than any other. I woukd like two options if possible. 1. A home button easily available 2. One button to clear data takes 5 steps to clear data and history. One step button please!!!

  13. Joey-avatar

Duckduckgo and Firefox are broken down to the fundamentals, Chrome is not secure anymore. Here I get results, with links that work and load fast. The security is trustworthy and the rewards system alone is worth it. Though I would change the share button at the bottom right. I keep hitting it and I'd prefer it be an optional feature. Also, the news feed "personalization" is terrible. All I see is politics, coronavirus and the 2020 election, even tho those topics are unselected. Its so depressing

  14. Rhea Kelly-avatar

    Rhea Kelly

I liked it a lot. It is a lot like Opera that I like but I wish that when I open Edge it would automatically open to a new blank window instead of me having to always do it myself. And I wish that when I clear my browsing data that it would not automatically close all of the other tabs that I want to leave open ON MY SMARTPHONE. I like everything being at the bottom.

  15. enzovirus-avatar

Runs faster, smoother, kinder to my battery,, less buggy and glitchy than Chrome. Tab window is set out well opting for a grid over chrome's windows, making it easier to keep on top of multiple tabs and choosing or closing them far easier. Private tabs is always easy to get to and not hidden away behind a few clicks. The tab, menu and back/forward buttons are places easily for single hand use, with several extra options a swipe away, they thought about phone users!

  16. Vincent Agosta-avatar

Overall, Edge is a decent browser. I started using Edge when the last Firefox updates rendered Firefox virtually unusable and found Edge much easier to use. Features that I wish Edge had were a much better bookmark interface with folders, ability to open a link in a new window, and better ad/popup blocking, cut/paste on a web page, and 3rd party extensions. BTW, you can set the Home Page to a specific page of your choice.

Recently switched to Edge on my desktop PC.. Figured I'd give it a try on mobile as well.. So far, I haven't been disappointed. The layout takes a moment to acclimate to, but the pages load fast and it app hasn't crashed yet.

  18. Chewie-avatar

Much better than Firefox! Haven't had a single crash yet, pages load faster, I should have switched a long time ago. The only downside is there's no "I don't care about cookies" addon, so I have to deal with the all the stupid cookie warnings that no one cares about, which is why I've only given 4 stars.

  19. Jason Ulbright-avatar

    Jason Ulbright

Amazing. So much better than Google Chrome. And Bing works just as well as Google search, better for videos! Edit: every update changes default 3 dots menu and tabs menu from list view to icons and visa versa. It's really annoying. List view makes no point on mobile, requires extra clicks, and needs to go away and not come back.

  20. Marios Plenchidis-avatar

Edit: Seems to be fixed now Sometimes when opening a new website it takes longer than it should to open it (15-20 seconds) it even happens when changing from the Browsing to "All" into Browsing "Images" most of the time it works good. The hide search history on the search bar doesn't work as expected. Also it would be nice when looking at the "saved passwords" section to be able to use a search bar to find a password faster

Life is simpler with one browser across devices. Edge is good enough now that I can get away with removing Chrome & use it full time. Ad blocking is very welcome. Chrome on Windows insists on running 'swreporter' in the background hogging 100% CPU so it was better to remove chrome and just use Edge on all devices.

I've been using ur app for several months but these days, there is crashed when I watch videos. when I rotate the phone screen while watching something, it crushed and closes window. it's either plug in issue or what. please fix or ot at least reply me I don't see it's only my issue online. thanks :) it's seamless synced and fast. the new main menu (... menu) is buggy and keeps autoscrolling to the top. Also, the default order of the items of this same menu does not make sense. Commonly used items should be at the top, but this is not the case. Finally, history and tab syncing is important functionality, still not there. Should be prioritized. Things keep being added that are not so important. Overall, a good, nice browser, but a little unrefined, buggy, and missing some important features.

This app is amazing in every way and provided a great alternative since chrome refuses to work for some reason 🙄. That said there is one thing that proves a headache and that is drop down menus on websites, for some reason they either half crash tabs or dont work at all which is frightfully annoying. Fix that glitch and i will up my rating to 5 stars.

This bug has been present for sometime now, when ever i transition from portrait to landscape mode sometimes the app just crashes for no reason and it has been this way for the last 5 updates, so i hope that the devs could fix this pretty annoying bug because when that happens when i'm in private mode, i lose all my tabs and i have to reopen them again which is not a good thing at all for productivity

  26. Puppy Puppy-avatar

Dreadful. With typical Microsoft mediocrity, this latest dump slaps an intrusive unremoveable microphone icon into the Bing search edit control, substantially truncating available typing space. Even worse, the control fails to properly display when opening to include a second entry line. Insultingly untested trash out of the gate.

  27. Frank Zou-avatar

    Frank Zou

The browswer serves the purpose, but the position of new tab plus button is just annoying. When you open more than 12 tabs(yes Im the guy who opens a lot of tabs), the plus button will block the last 2 tabs so you cannot close it. Please move the plus button a bit left, of move the closing tab button to the left so they dont block.

  28. Usman-avatar

Yeah. I like the smoothness and design. Plus compatibility with Windows 10 on desktop. I totally use Edge on desktop. But there is a downside to my working experience, becuase I use Chrome for mobile. So I really cant sync both browsers in realtime. 😩 Don't use Edge on mobile most of time because it is slower and very annoying.

I am so happy I made a quick switch of browser. Using Collections, I can easily organize pages and topics I'm researching about or things I just want to read. Reading mode makes pages easy to the eyes when browsing on mobile. The card view of tabs is great but I wish there could be a way to re-arrange them. Thank you!

  30. Burt Stanton-avatar

Quick browsing, but garbage gui. Convoluted, counterintuitive, psuedo-ergonomic, buzzword garbage. Why do browser designers think spreading things out and hiding them behind multiple menus is better? And WHY do they think we need multiple shortcuts to facebook plastered on every dang menu/page, a website few people ever use anymore. Ill never know.

Users are not able to login to Reddit on Edge mobile. This is essential for my browser. I cannot use a browser that blocks Reddit for whatever reason. Hello dear devs, Thanks for this awesome browser. It is better than chrome in some ways and i love it . But i just wanted some additional features like- 1. Option in download settings to allow me to use a third-party download manager app(ex-adm or idm). 2. Support for extension/addons just like PC(kiwi or Firefox does support) 3. Importing and exporting saved bookmarks from my google account, which i had saved in chrome. Etc. 😊🙏 Thanks for you best work.

Really have no complaints. I prefer Edge to Chrome, as I'm trying to move away from Google Products due to feeling less secure on them and wanting to cut down how many services have my private info. Edge is fast and i like the overall layout. It's also simple to use and does everything i need it to.

I hv been in love with this browser the second I downloaded. Since almost 2 months it been my primary browser. I hv only 1 PROBLEM. When we check for TABS ITS IN TILES VIEW. CAN U PLZ MAKE IT LIKE IN SAFARI OR CHROME. ITS DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE THE 1ST TAB BY DRAGGING UR FINGER ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP OF UR PHONE. Apart from this, I hv nothing to complain or suggest. But look into this minor yet VERY ANNOYING thing n I'll give a 5!

I'm trying to switch from Chrome to Edge and the following are a major drawback: 1. Can't have multiple personal accounts on android edge. 2. Can't sync work account between android and windows. Needs administrator to enable it! Both of these aren't a problem with Chrome!

Good app brought down by the fact tab switching isn't easily available. When you start scrolling the bottom bar is removed and the only way to get it back is to tap the URL bar, hit back to remove your keyboard and then if you're lucky the tab bar will appear.

Adopted Edge after Firefox fail. At first seemed good but now finding it frustrating. Never loads my homepage and Home button is greyed out so no way to access it. I love the overall design over any other browser. And the downloads and bookmarks management in this browser is incomparable. Finally a notable browser I can recommend. P.S. Only feature I would want to be added is to be able to close inactive tabs. Otherwise I've to click a tab to focus it first and then close it.

  43. Ken Mortimer-avatar

You only get 2 stars because everyone else has decided to wreck the usability of their own browsers, so by comparison... Is it really too much to ask for "open in app" like Firefox had? P.S. It's pretty obvious you don't do testing when the download notification covers the tab button EVERY TIME. I have to wait for the thing to disappear before I can continue using the browser 😑

  44. Culmination of Thirsts-avatar

⟨ CONS ⟩ Having more than only 40 background tabs opened makes this browser terribly stutter. It also doesn't let synchronizing of history, opened tabs & a lot of other important things with its PC version yet. ⟨ PROS ⟩ Webpage loading speed is great & oftentimes it even feels faster than Google's Chrome. And this one comes with features like in-built & activated Adblock Plus, tracking prevention enhancements, Honey (a coupon search for shopping), NewsGuard (a news credibility check) 👍🏻

All of the above makes it easy to explore and use Microsoft Edge. I still find Microsoft Edge to be the best of most search engines I have used in the past. Thank you for all the current tips and explanations for using them. Keep those updates coming. Will "save for later" be coming back?

I'm really liking edge except for one thing that's kind of ruining it... Why can't I manually add a search provider? I don't want to use Google, but ddg, Yahoo and bing (sorry ms...) kind of suck. So to use my search engine of choice I have to either manually go to it every time, which is so 1996, or go to another browser.

I like using this app, but now the updates are getting ridiculous,.. Now the app on my new phone is lagging and slow to actually open, Chrome is quick to open, smart and much more intuitive. FIX the SPEED on Edge, the biggest tech company can't even get Windows 10 right and Edge is no different....

Needs an option to set desktop view as default on tablet devices. Also need to be able to close tabs without clicking them first when the appear at the top on tablets. The x button seems to disappear on background tabs and you have to go the tab first to close it.

So far so good. Needs more customization. Search "suggestions" are ads, essentially, I would like to change/remove them. I can't find a way to make custom search engines, maybe they will sync from desktop. But good.

Moved over to this from Firefox on Android because Roboform was no longer working properly after latest FF update. No issues using Edge. I am surprised how good this is. It looks like it will become my default browser. Who would have thought.

Good overall, but bad on Surface Duo. Frequently unresponsive when trying to launch, and when it finally does it launches multiple sessions. Tabs disappear at random to reappear days later. Also, basic sites like Seattle Times are unusable.

So slow. Takes a very long time to start loading a page, even when its the only tab open. Love the syncing with pc, and collections. Justvwish it would actually load. This happens both on my tablet and phone, so neither device nor android specific issue. Shame, as otherwise it's great.

I like the user interface better than Chrome, and it goes towards supporting browser diversity even if it is Microsoft. And while Microsoft was a bit like a monopoly in the past, Google is about a hundred times like that now.

So far I am loving edge. I am typically a chrome user. I love chrome and love all the extensions and features that it has. I do believe edge may be a definite contender against Google chrome. I will keep using it to see which I prefer. The only downsize is the integration into the cloud and the office documents.

I'm not allowed to use it profanity to describe this app. It's some horse manure. How on this green earth do the developers think that the choices made are ok? Do you want to sync settings? Look somewhere else. Do you want to type a sure and have the browser bring it up? Look elsewhere. Every site you type will turn into a search for the craptastic Bing.

Having an adblocker and a customisable tracker blocking feature is good, although a feature to block malicious sites would make Edge better. It would also be good to have a feature to block or automatically accept cookie notification like Opera has (Opera with VPN, not Opera Mini).

Microsoft is using Chromium (Google's generic development browser), even though they're supposed to be an 'innovative software giant.' But, they never did get Internet Explorer right, refused to attend to its serious development even though they pushed it on us all despite its awkward render faults, etc. Edge does work better, but does it fire off who-knows-what data off to whoever, now? And it does NOT allow real privacy or scam protection, or allow real ad blocking. Resource intensive, too.
