I love this app! It helps me clear photos off my phone to save space and it keeps unlimited amounts of my photos. I also love that I will get random "stories" that it creates to relive special times. It also sends me notifications to look back on special days from years past. I have not had any problems with it and I've used it for years. The prints are great and easy with fast delivery. Thank you Amazon!! I wish you could save more videos (w/out upgrading) but still, this is a great app!!

I'm from Ukraine. Few days ago my Photos plan, which I was purchasing for several last years, has expired. It has happened accidentally - I didn't want this to happen, just missed. Now I want to re-purchase the plan again, however neither web-browser version nor the app allows me to do this - it doesn't show me any plans at all. In addition, there's no way for me to contact the support (at least, I can't find any way to do it). Everything this is more than ridiculous!

  3. Kara Bevis-avatar

I like that the app uploads automatically and has a family vault. The app does not delete pics from the app when the same pics are deleted from the phone. I guess they do it in case you are just clearing space on your phone and want to keep the pics, but it can be annoying having to delete them from two different places if you just don't need that screenshot of a cat anymore. :) Overall it's probably better to be safe than sorry as far as pic deleting is concerned, so I'm still happy.

I would've given 5 stars if Amazon didn't delete my photos after I declined to buy more storage. Apparently prime only gives you a limited amount and if you go over and don't pay for extra, photos are wiped from your phone. Thank god I have my photos backed up. I get it, why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free.....ayeee!! But other then that I do like how easy it is to organize my photos and when I'm looking for a certain date or album that too is easy to find.

  5. Hils Williams-avatar

I would give this app no stars, if I could. Since installing, it has randomly uploaded some, but not all, photos from my phone and has messed up what's left. Where I should have photos, I have screen after screen of blackness or a grey triangle with an exclamation mark in it in their place. I thought this App just backed your photos up to the cloud but it has left me without so many memories. I'm gutted. In addition, it fails to connect for any length of time and only transfers a few photos

  6. Alteneda Martin-avatar

I really wanted to give this app 5 stars. The only issue I have is once you match a face to a person there is no way to change it. I accidently matched a pic of my infant to my toddler and now both of their photos come under one name. It is for this reason that I just use Google pics and not even open the Amazon app. I also like the way Google makes cute automations out of my videos and collages out of my pics vs Amazon. Once Amazon allows me to correct my error I will change my rating.

  7. Breanna Dexter-avatar

Excellent for seeing all my photos backed up to the cloud! I have backed up about 7 years (40,000+) worth of photos. Family vault is great too. Note: the app pulls the photos from your phone but you need to ensure its backed up to the cloud (see cloud symbol on photos). I can access from any device when signing in. Improvements: Better option for selecting bulk photos at once - instead of selecting each one individually. Customize the upload/backup to not include screenshots, documents, etc.

  8. Landon Campbell-avatar

Nightmare to navigate. Can't easily sort between photos on device vs what is already uploaded. Folders are automatically added to backup, even after being removed repeatedly. Overall just a pain to use for something that should be intuitive. No, I dont want to back up EVERY folder. And I want to be able to see what is where and sort accordingly.

  9. Tim Law-avatar

Honestly the face recognition is horrible. But I like the Amazon ecosystem and I want to see Amazon photos rival Google photos. That means Amazon needs to improve the attributes of this app considerably. That said...if it does there is a lot of potential for having a store, an app, books, music, photos entertainment...more than Google

  10. Danny Sieg-avatar

Just installed will let you know after I have reviewed and determined how it works for me. Being a Prime Member, taking advantage of the unlimited storage space for silent photos on Amazon Photos. I may not be thoroughly aquatinted with all the options and benefits of this App, but I do understand a great opportunity when it's offered. Updated: 9 May 2020

  11. Charles Maheu-avatar

Good app and great service. App needs polishing. The app doesn't behave as smoothly as Google Photos does for example. Going full screen on a photo makes it "jump" on the screen, the animations are not consistent (swipes to open a photo and zooms out to go back?), some gesture don't work all the time (like swiping down to close a photo : only works if the photo is fully loaded ?!?). Works great but isn't a smooth experience.

  12. Nick Di Blasio-avatar

Great app . Like the idea that it backs up my photos . So if I were to lose my phone there all back up . Just like Google photo app or Google drive for backing up file . but this app is great for photos , if you wish u can back up files as file . Makes u make different folders as well . Thx keep up the great work hope they add more features in the future.

Amazon Photos has collected the pictures of my life that I had thought I'd lost over the course of my life and when I signed into the Amazon Photos app, I found things that I had thought lost forever. This app really made me smile and I am really impressed with this product and would recommend it to anyone who is hooked into the Amazon system, music, photos, Kindle, Audible, all of the applications for Amazon. And this one saved my photos. Thank you very much!

  14. Diana Brown-avatar

Amazon fulfills my needs as a reader & a photo editing nut. I enjoy the books provided, the editing app for pictures as well as prime video. However, after loading the apps it can be difficult to open them requiring more than one try. While streaming videos can be frustrating when they keep freezing up or won't rewind/forwarding. Books are sometimes hard to download & open up to read. Nevertheless photo editing is a smooth running app I use daily & storing the pics w/sharing are the cat's meow.

  15. Hayley Murphy-avatar

Downloaded this app last week, I've been out for 2 walks and wondered today why all of my mobile data has been used when I have only left the house twice and not used it. Turns out this app has been running in the background using data and sucked my whole months data while out on my two 1 hour walks!

  16. Kari Huff-avatar

Good app. Backs up pictures as soon as I take them or snap a screenshot. Good amount of storage space... Plan is included in my paid prime membership! Overall great and convenient!! Deff recommend to anyone looking for a good back up app and you can also order prints right from your app and through Amazon! It doesn't get more simple and convenient than that!! πŸ‘πŸ‘

  17. Frances Snider-avatar

I absolutely love Amazon Photos with one exception. First, let me say that I have a Google 3a (I know don't laugh). I have always loved Google until I got the phone. Don't get me wrong, I still like Google BUT don't get me started on Google photos. They SUCK and I'm not stupid, they just don't work! Anyhoo (lol), the only thing in Amazon Photos is, if you create an album and move pictures to it they still show on the home screen. When deleted /hidden they disappear in the album too.

  18. Ken McVay-avatar

The upside is the unlimited space for images, and the ability to disable geo-location & tagging to maintain privacy. The downside is that no social interaction is possible, beynd allowing 5 family members to help maintain the Family Vault. Navigation takes so getting used to as well. I use it and like it, but seenits shortcomings.

  19. Debbie Lawhorn-avatar

I love the photos I have printed but the last 2 days I'm to edit some I have ready to print and it takes me to a screen that says oops lost connection try again or cancel. It will not let me edit a photo at all, please fix this or let me know what is going on.

  20. Christina Graziano-avatar

    Christina Graziano

I love that my photos automatically sync up. The best part is that my husbands photos sync up too, so I get access to the ones he takes too. The pictures I have ordered have been great! The place I was ordering from was cutting off the image and coming back blurry. Amazon prints have been flawless so far.

  21. Eddie Craig-avatar

Does what it is supposed to do. Helps by giving daily anniversary of photos so you can recall photos you've possibly forgot about. Can switch on and off backing up. Ties in with other Amazon photos apps that you have on other platforms so you can find your photos in the cloud

  22. Bessy Wang-avatar

Very happy! Amazon photos backed up all my photos from computer and cell phone quickly, keep them well organized, easy to access, look up. And saved lots of space. The best part is storage of photos is unlimited. I took thousands of photos on each touring trip. No longer worry about lack of storage!

  23. Steve Warhurst-avatar

Excellent backup, free with prime membership and lovely reminders for photos taken on this date in years past. Have tagged family and friends and Amazon now recognises these when future photos are taken - can search by date, name and if geotagged by location. Faultless sharing selected images with friends and happy to remove photos from my phone knowing they are safe 'in the cloud' 5 stars!

  24. Ryan Morris-avatar

The best photo sharing app out there. Great for both videos and pictures. We have Andriod and Apple devices. Works perfectly across both. Great to see memories from the past. Easy to share pictures with family as well. Great design and great application. Highly recommend.

  25. Lisa Kay-avatar

A great place to store photos, videos as well as organize albums and create prints. However, I can't add my SD storage to back up so most of my photos are still stuck on my phone. Although Amazon Photos has more features, Google Drive will back up all photos and videos no matter where they are.

  26. Joyce Watts-avatar

I love the idea that my photos are all in the same place on Amazon. If I download from any device I know where to go track them down. In the past I would have the on disc and thumb drives and then have to take them to be uploaded this is so so much better. Win win for me

  27. T A-avatar

Way too hard to organize, delete online photos especially if you have over 3,000 images. Some functions are disabled when you have over 3,000 pictures. Went back to Google Photos which essentially mirrors your hard drive... 1000x easier to use.

  28. Ashic Mahtab-avatar

Mostly good. Prime allows for unlimited photo backup. Raw files are supported. Albums can't be shared with family account members... The photos can be shared, but not having albums available to others in the family makes organising a bit annoying.

  29. Nagalakshmi Vairamuthu-avatar

    Nagalakshmi Vairamuthu

This recent release version has problems on android phones. There is no option to select folder to link to upload/ auto save. No photos are getting loaded. Shows incorrect folder but no way to deselect, save and select new folder. Please look into it. Fyi - Previous version was working better.

  30. Jamelah Saleh-avatar

excellent, amazing you can focus to distant phenomena such as the moon with a Halo around it. Amazing I never saw this phenomenon before. You just have to see this with the picture of a framed holy Quran the picture of the moon is over it beaming in brightness. Such a blessing phenomenon from Our Creator. Thank you very much. Maybe it coincides with layl Al qadr in the holy Quran.

  31. Alicia Frits-avatar

I really enjoy this app! I wish you could organize the photos a little better but it's a great place to upload everything. I like that I am able to have it upload photos every night so I am not worried about remembering to back up my photos after so long.

  32. Robyn Funk-avatar

I love this app for all the memories on my TV to share with any visitors. I also like the ease of use, the ability to order pictures. I haven't even learned all that it can do yet. I look forward to discovering more and more.

  33. jillian moss-avatar

I think it's good that you get updated when an upload is complete along with options to delete from Amazon Photos and/or device. It really helps to keep on top of storing rubbish images. I like the memory pop ups too.

  34. mike duerr-avatar

It works great at backing up my photos. Automatically. I also enjoy my photos of the day. It's like a glimpse in history. I have Prime, so I have unlimited storage. I'm not sure about other plans.

  35. Sassy Devil-avatar

So far, so good. I'm hoping I don't lose any photos if my plan runs out. I don't remember how I have it set (automatic payments or what), but I'll look into it later. I saw the reviews mentioning this could happen, and that worries me. There's too much to keep up with on the Internet. If things remain good with this app, I'll raise it to 5 stars.

  36. Jeff Kastner-avatar

Took forever to transfer my thousamds of photos but it finally happened. App does a good job of organizing them and even sends me daily reminders of my photos taken on that day in history. App would merit a perfect score if it stored more than just a minimal number of videos.

  37. Rachael C. Black-avatar

    Rachael C. Black

I use this app far more than I'd originally thought. For years I've done even the simplest edits in PS, using the crop and text tool alone is worth using the app. Since I have Amazon across virtually every device I own (even my MotoG6 us Alexa enabled lol) the photo app is Handy as He*l πŸ˜‰.

  38. Frankie Mathis-avatar

The app is good and when you go over the free limit, the additional price for storage is affordable. The one feature I cannot find is when you orders prints, etc., how to remove. It ask do you want reorder but no remove. Thanks

  39. Grey-avatar

This app was syncing all my pics and there was no way I could see to turn it off so I uninstalled. Half of my pictures have now been deleted. I'm not the only one reporting this issue. Do not use this app. It should be removed from the store.

  40. Jennifer Anderson-avatar

    Jennifer Anderson

Every picture and video is uploaded automatically when I am on wi-fi. Very intuitive. Enjoy the "Memories" feature. Also, you can order prints and photo gifts from app!

  41. Gitana Morena-avatar

If I delete a photo on my phone the app starts scanning from the beginning all 4,000 photos I have and it makes my phone very hot and drains the battery. Is a paint, and awful app any little change scans everything from the beginning. Google photos are a lot better!!!

  42. Brenda Rithner-avatar

I love the convenience of having Amazon Photos automatically collect photos from my phone. This helps me with an ongoing project to document my orchids. It is also very easy and quick to share photos.

  43. Mo Alhussainy-avatar

All in all it's a good app the only thing missing is when uploading pictures it needs to open options to gallery or something similar that makes it easier finding the pictures you looking for if you have alot of pictures you will end up looking for the pictures you want for a long time

  44. Kristin Riehle-avatar

I love how it gives me alerts to photos that happened this day a year ago and so on. Fun to look back and remember those memories. It's easy and quite fast to use and organize albums.

  45. connie stamps-avatar

Pure awesomeness at your fingertips. Makes storing and sharing photos while traveling so much easier than sorting with a mm camera (which is still just as awesome in it's own right).

  46. A Google user-avatar

Insists on displaying every image file on the device being used (eg everything sent to you on WhatsApp etc) and not just uploaded photos. Cannot seem to resolve this and makes it unusable on my phone to view my uploaded photos as i have to scroll tbrough so many other images.

  47. Debra Lemay-avatar

Never ever have to worry about losing photos is what I love about Amazon photo. And easy to use. All i had to do was install the app, Amazon does the rest. Perfect.

  48. Joseph Conley-avatar

It's good but you can't see your videos in amazon photos you have to get amazon drive. I wish I could get back all of my videos that I deleted permanently. It's not going to happen even though they are probably archived somewhere.

  49. nikki ammons-avatar

Great for sending photos to my grandma without having to go to the store. Upload photos to Amazon photos from my phone, then order the prints on the Amazon app!!! So amazing and convenient!

  50. Stephen Neal-avatar

It's easy to use. The editing is also easy to sharpen the photos. You can make albums to highlight individual events. I think it's great would highly recommend. πŸ†

  51. Melissa Dickey-avatar

I love the automatic backup of all my photos! I wish that Amazon would include video storage as well without having to pay extra on top of my Amazon membership. It only backs up my photos, but I still love it!

  52. Dave Pergola-avatar

Great with the Pixel 4XL, I use this for automatic backup of my photos at full resolution, something that Google no longer offers for free with the Pixel series phones. Sharing to customers at work is also a breeze with public sharing via the app.

  53. Michael Evans-avatar

Just downloaded this app. to get 6k free spins on CoinMaster. It has not worked yet so I decided to rate this site based on that. When I get my points I will change my rating. However, thanks for saving my pics to the cloud, i have lost many pics from broken phones and phone company deleting.

  54. John Gavar-avatar

I use Amazon Photos as well as Google Photos. I like that I can have two places for photo backups. Amazon has a different look and I appreciate that look.

  55. Monica Harward-avatar

Great place to store your photos and free up storage on your phone. They are easy to get to when you need them and I love how it shows photos you took every day in years past.

  56. Donnie Reinhard-avatar

    Donnie Reinhard

It uploads photos automatically. If you decide to delete a photo the app asks whether to delete it on the cloud, or on the device, or both.

  57. Laura Hoo-avatar

Awesome, easy to use and organize my pictures. Plus if you have an Amazon account, it can store all you photos free! Love it!

  58. SARAH REYNOLDS-avatar

Love the options you get with Amazon photos and I love seeing them appear on my tv screen while using Amazon prime which I love dearly for all the superior tv shows, films and other ranges of programmes.

  59. Cierra Teichert-avatar

    Cierra Teichert

I like that I have unlimited space, supposedly. I also like that I am able to delete things in app and on the phone or just one or the other from the app. Im still figuring out how to seperate things in folders, it doesnt seem to want to do what I want.

  60. Beth Patterson-avatar

Great app, I love that we can use our photos as a screen saver on the fire stick connected to our TV. Sending the photos to the fire stick is easy and quick. Thank you.

  61. Liberty Broughton-avatar

    Liberty Broughton

It's nice that you can auto backup, but I wish it would jeep my photos organized how they are on my phone. For example, all my photos go into an album, but then I have to remake the albums in Amazon Photos which is tedious.

  62. Eric Hamada-avatar

App is frustrating to use. Constantly jumps back dozens of photos when scrolling, defaults to showing you photos on your phone even if you don't back them up, downloads the full res version very slowly. Only using the app for quicker viewing than the Amazon Drive app.

  63. Kaz Tabrizi-avatar

You can search for pictures by kewords instead of scrolling . I searched "truck" wanting to find the logo/ name of a landscaping truck that sometime ago I took a picture of. Image recognition capabilities

  64. Rodney S.-avatar

I like the editor in Amazon photos it's much better than what I normally use which is Samsung editor on Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Google photos editor on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Ultra 20 + limited edition for the Rich and Famous.

  65. Matt Wise-avatar

Sweet app if you're a prime member, unlimited storage and great photo organization and people identifier. Crashes and slows down sometimes on older devices, all in all a must have for the firestick screensaver slideshow setup.

  66. Ross Durant-avatar

I haven't receive my picture yet but the app was easy to use. I try going to target cvs always a problem to link up but with this app I just tap on pictures and size and wait for deliver at home it

  67. Dave Shuler-avatar

Great product, nice to access all of your photos in one place. Love the daily pictures from years past and the calaborations they out together.

  68. Phillip Browne-avatar

Very easy to use! Everything is automatic from the install, you have the option to exclude folders or even file types.

  69. Chelsea Hutsler-avatar

    Chelsea Hutsler

Thanks to amazon photos, all of my 7,000 photos were backed up when my gmail failed to back up my photos and also saved them when my phone completely crashed. Not to mention all of the fun perks!

  70. Ed Dutton-avatar

I do believe that the Amazon Photos is easy to use and makes sure your photos are saved and are secure. If asked, I would recommend this app for their photos or drawings of all types. Ed

  71. Linda Johnson-avatar

Love how I can store all photos in one place and access from all my devices and my tv. Love the search options and the way to sort photos by facial recognition.

  72. Paul Bratby-avatar

Really simple to use, great that it backs up the full resolution of the pictures when you have a prime account.

  73. Gareth Brewin-avatar

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Uploads instantly, has great storage and is really simple to use. And I like simple to use!

  74. Alexander Howard-avatar

    Alexander Howard

It's great when it works. Often, it stalls automatically backing up the photos and takes a few days before it finishes

  75. Elaine Brady-avatar

Really great for backing up photos, but it can be slow loading if you have a lot of content in your cloud.

  76. Clarence Lyons Sr-avatar

    Clarence Lyons Sr

Sometime my photos doesn't show all of the photos that i had taken with my phone. Plus, i had updated my amazon app repeated several times, but not all my pics show on my amazon app image.

  77. Jay Williams-avatar

Amazing. Sharing online or hard copies is effortless, and if you're an Amazon prime member, it's really inexpensive, too!

  78. Kelli Potts-avatar

So far so good but I believe I have tooooooo many photos because it's always trying to upload more . But has been helpful freeing up space on my phone .

  79. Corey Coker-avatar

Just a great app don't know what else to say it really gets the job done it saves and it saves some more then you give them a little money and it saves more

  80. Sandy Skibo-avatar

Didn't use at first - now it is great for hiking trips and also screen savers on our TV. Plus, it saves my pics in cloud so I dont lose them.

A few times important photos have been lost or deleted by glad to know I have back up! It also frees my camera space as I do alot of pictures and videos!

  82. Ben O'Neill-avatar

Love having the option of backing every photo up to an unlimited folder! I just wish it wouldn't immediately back them up... I've got about a thousand duplicates from when I crop photos or edit them...

  83. Christina Woods-avatar

    Christina Woods

I really like their privacy policy and love that I have storage for my pictures and know they are safe! I also love how my pics go directly there!!!

  84. Marian Cortese-avatar

Very easy to use once I take a picture it goes right to Amazon photos, no need to figure out how to do anything or remember anything, very simple!

  85. Travis Waltz-avatar

Great way to back-up photos and easily order prints. Upload is a little slow at times but it goes in the background so it isn't noticable.

  86. Laura Williams-avatar

I love this app. I've lost so many pictures over the years on my cell phones but now I've put all of them on my Amazon app and they are always there. Cherished memories should never be lost πŸ₯°

  87. E H-avatar

I should have an option to only view photos I have uploaded instead of seeing all of theocal photos on my device. Very cumbersome and why are photos unlimited but videos almost $2000 for the top plan? No one in their right mind would pay that.

  88. Amanda Heckel-avatar

Love that it backs all my photos up and I can print them off right from the app. Plus they're the best priced prints and they're really good quality

When I make a album to be displayed on Alexa I don't need Alexa to show photos that I deleted off Amazon photo. Delete means just that..Display album means just that..It doesn't mean display and show what you want to show display 😑😀

Great for storing photos safely. I don't have to worry losing them if I break my phone and I can access them from other devices.

This is a good picture app. I wish it had ways to catalog your pictures for easy retrieval of photos. I have to scam through all the photos. Got to be a better way...

Easy to use and included with Prime. I like how it is automatically when I'm on my WiFi. The yearly flashbacks are an added bonus.

A real good app. I have broken so many phones and could have lost so many photos and memories. It's just a case of remembering the password and it's like it never happened.

Must have (especially with Amazon prime). Seamless integration, unlimited storage, no problems with upload. Dropbox is out. Amazon photos are in

Reliable, but despite turning off auto sync it does auto sync my photos. Also I can not actually put photos in the trash. I keeps them.

Kind of basic but functional. Could use more options for organizing photos. Kind of a dick move to pull random photos off of my phone to show on "this day 2 years ago" stuff rather than ones I've expressly uploaded. I really don't care to see some random thing I happened to screenshot or download. Otherwise, it is photos. Hosted by Amazon. That's pretty much it.

I love it. It automatically saves my pics to a cloud and gives me daily trips back a few years. Great app.
