Obviously all technology needs improvement, but for what it is I'm really glad I got an Alexa. We call ours 'Computer.' I will say my favorite voice is the Australian. Its easy to understand and friendly. The UK English voice is a bit muffled and quiet, as if there is a pillow on top of it. Maybe thats my device messing up, but the other voices aren't like that. I love the timers/reminders & easy app access. I'll note: I haven't been able to get the timers to save on the Aus and UK voices.

I would like to be able to sort my lists, myself. I'm happy that the categories can be hidden, but it's still cumbersome if I have an extensive list, to have to scroll through the whole thing for one item. The favorites list is intrusive; it should be optional, and now my lists keep adding back items that are completed or deleted, and sometimes new items don't appear at all. Dropping to two stars.

Slow app. RAM hog. With older Echo devices you need to switch phone's WiFi to the Echo's WiFi while in the setup. But because this app is so bulky, it immediately unloads the moment it's minimized/switched to the WiFi screen. App then restarts when going back, exiting setup. Can't stay connected to the Echo's WiFi either when reopening the app to add a device because Internet data is needed in the very first step to add an Echo! Seriously, only big 3D games take as much RAM as this app does.

I love this app but a lot of the times it Miss hears the words that I say and gives me gibberish back which can be quite frustrating when you're trying to get the answer for your 13-year-old daughters science fair project. Or you're trying to find out something in front of your kids and something else comes on or you can't find all the podcasts. I'm trying now to figure out how to link my Spotify but I do love Alexa I think Alexa Siri and Google should have more conversations and jokes about eac

App is great unless you have more than one device. Then it is constantly screwing up. Commands don't make it to your devices, but the devices get hung up and can't be given commands manually so everything has to be reset before you can even say "Alexa, play music" and have any of your devices actually respond or play music. It's a great idea of all the bugs get worked out but no matter how I trouble shoot my issue, these things just don't work together

I really like mine, it's set up to Remind me to take my medication and to turn my T.V off, and if you program it, it would call emergency number first, and then a dedicated family member & their doctor, all they have to do is talk loud enough for their Alexa, to hear them , it's just a thought? I simply love mine!!!

    - Updates to layout happen too often. - totally rubbish on Android - can often take 20 seconds to respond to a key press !!! Ridiculous ! I know others are experiencing this yet is has not been resolved for over 12 months. Summary: you'll only download this if you HAVE to. Edit: problems logged, zero response. Reduced to 1 star. 31.07.21 - upgraded phone, problems still persist. Unacceptably the SLOWEST app I have ever used.

Great app. Voice control of of electrical devices such as lights and light dimmers allow you to easily install lights without the bother of running wires to switches. For example I used an Alexa enabled switch inserted in an existing socket to power under counter lights. Now, to turn on the lights, all I have to do is ask Alexa. Previously I would have had to run the wires to the under cabinet lights to a new switch in a convenient location. This is a great AI for control of household devices.

It has needed an update weekly to do absolutely nothing. Apparently those updates were to make it so their planned obsolescence could kick in, sense the instant thry started the echo dot lost its connection and keeps saying to use this app yo reconnect it, but since this app "can't find the device" while sitting 2 inches from it both are now entirely useless

Asks for unnecessary permissions. Example setting up wireless speaker recommends location enabled 24/7. If the user does not want this setting it quits you out of the app setup. Many of us do not like getting our location tracked by every company... Please make the UI more acceptant for declining unnecessary permissions. Work around is to disable location in app permissions afterwards. Bad user experience.
