ota2GO works with your Tablo over-the-air (OTA) digital video recorder (DVR) to let you download recordings from your Tablo to your phone or tablet for offline viewing or archiving! To get started, simply run ota2GO while you are connected to the same network as your Tablo. ota2GO will find your Tablo, show you available recordings, and let you watch or download videos. ota2GO has two ways to download videos: Time Saver and Space Saver. Time Saver copies recordings from your Tablo and stores the full-sized files on your device. Time Saver is intended for devices with plenty of available storage, and has the advantage of downloading recordings quickly - a full 2 hour movie downloads in 15-20 minutes, but can be more than 5 GB in size. Time Saver downloads also support closed captions. Space Saver copies recordings from your Tablo, but encodes them using lower quality and resolution settings in order to produce a much smaller file. Space Saver is intended for devices with limited amounts of available storage. The encoding process is lengthy - a 2 hour movie takes approximately 2 hours to encode - but the resulting file is significantly smaller. Using Space Saver you can start your download(s) at night and by morning they will be completed, in time for you to catch the latest episodes during your commute :) The downloaded videos are also available to copy from your device to a computer through file explorer, but please ensure that you are using this app and the downloaded videos in full compliance with the copyright laws that may be applicable in your region. ota2GO is designed to provide personal, offline viewing and archiving and isn't intended to support distribution of copyrighted material. ota2GO's internal player supports Tablo's new commercial skip capabilities. The app also supports surround sound (5.1) recordings by allowing you to select an external video player such as VLC or MX to play these recordings with sound in case your Android device doesn't natively support surround sound, as many do not. Just configure the external player in the Settings. In the free Demo mode all features are available, but downloads are limited to 20 minutes in order to let you take it for a thorough test drive. Try the app for free for as long as you wish, and upgrade to full-length download capabilities only after you're sure that the app works as you'd like! Yes, it is a very nice app! I am suggesting to add the choice as to where to download the video files since finding them in a Android environment is a lot more convoluted than in Windows. And speaking of Windows, I also suggest that there should be a Windows version aslo available. As mentioned above, finding the downloaded files is a major difficulty before we are able to move them to a Windows environment.

I love my Tablo, but to playback on Android was constantly buffering and too slow to watch. With this app the playback is smooth. A great solution!

Love the app. I was a little sceptical at first, but after trying it out, I couldn't believe how quickly it downloaded my recordings. I like the fact that I'm able to download to external memory. That way I can download recordings without losing video quality. If something similar existed for the iPad, I would buy it immediately.

When an update broke connectivity, developer was responsive in getting a working version back available. It works to save shows to my microSD card to watch away from home. There are 2 options, the quicker option (about 5-10 minutes per episode) takes up more space, but the video quality is good. The option to compress to smaller files takes considerably longer, but it's nice to have the option.

What a perfect complement to my Tablo DVR and my new Galaxy Tab S6! This app’s look and feel is basically identical to the Tablo app itself, making this super-easy to use. I downloaded an hour-long show to my tablet in 3 minutes in time-saving mode. I love that the app defaulted to my large SD card for saving files. The picture and sound quality are superb. The commercial skip works just like on my TV. Now I can quickly download a bunch of shows to watch when traveling.

Fantastic app, does what it promised with minimal complications! Love that you allow movement to the SD card. Couple requests? Would it be possible to add a feature that I can download a whole series? It's a little obtuse to have to click on each download button, and you can't easily click on more than one download button (if you scroll a bit sometimes it works, usually it doesn't). Allowing to click multiple download buttons would be good to, but a whole download series' button would be perfect!

Great, easy to use app that operates with a similar interface to Tablo. One minor request, though. While I understand the reticence of auto deleting episodes from the Tablo database, I'd like to see a simple "Watched / Not watched" button for each episode. That way, I can easily see which episodes to delete when I get back from a trip.

Love the app. I am a huge TabloTV fan for watching and recording Over-the-Air (OTA) HD TV. This app allows me to easily download recorded shows to watch on a plane, for example. It also is great to archive recordings off the TabloTV device. The interface is also alot like TabloTV's, so getting started was super easy.

Why you need this app! 1) Higher quality is possible on the go. 2) Reduce exspensive data usage. 3) Spotty cell phone coverage. 4) You don't want to pay the Tablo suscription fees to enjoy on the go video. 5) In my opinion this is a better at home video player then the official app because it loads quick and allows me to use MX, VLC, or any other app to play recordings on the Tablo. I had a couple small issues with the app that I might have deducted a star for but the developer was so responsive I'm giving a star back!

Pretty handy. Like that commercial skip works on this app, (the official Tablo Android app currently does not have commercial skip). As a suggestion, I'd like to see a delete feature to delete a recording no longer needed,to be able to delete directly from this app.
