It is so conenient to have a little "list" app. From shopping lists, christmas lists, to-do lists, to longterm notes that can be ordered and filed for reference. The best thing is tgst it is shared across devices so I can make a list on the PC snd access it while on my phone, all changes are live. I haven't been able to cross link lists. Which would make it better. But maybe you can and I haven't discovered it yet. If not then that would be one thing I would change.

Best cross platform note taker EVER and I definitely recommend using this over everything else! The normal notebooks even have full Samsung Note Pen integration!! BUT - for some reason both the Sticky Notes and the Badge Quick Notes don't seem to have this same pen integration, so I would love to see that included. Also 2 suggestions - coloring text could be easier to do and the notebook-sections-pages menu is easier on the desktop version, so making it more like this would be nice. Thanks!

Over all good app for notetaking. Faster and more functional than evernote. I only have few gripes with this app. ¤》Its search functionality is too basic. It only allows search across all notebooks. If i want to limit my search to a single notebook or a single page its not possible. That's a show stopper in many ways, since i have hundreds of notes and the search results are almost always too many to be useful. ¤》You cannot sort out the notes in order of dates. ¤》And no way of adding tags.

Not extremely User Friendly. The various versions make learning the diificult. MS has a special knack for not distinguishing one product/version from've just got to figure it out on your own. Seems like a newer version should have more capability than an older one...but not with OneNote! Concept is great, and as I learn it I'm appreciating it more and more, but, you can't rely on MS to help you understand their products.

One of the best note taking apps. But could be still better... I'm disappointed by the fact that it doesn't have the full screen mode due to which the bar on the top sticks and reduces the screen space while reading the notes Also, I don't know why one note doesn't have the smart look up thing which is available in Microsoft office and word app. It would be really helpful if these things are brought up in future updates...

Missing a features on android version: (1) The app does not provide a preview of the page title in a notebook if it is handwritten (only when typed). Not great for finding notes - this feature is in the Windows app, it should be reflected in the Android version as well. (2) Ability to turn off pressure sensitivity - so that handwriting can have uniform thickness.

Its nice, I have been using it for quite a while now. However, one change which I wish could be there was a tool that allowed us to string pages together into one continuos thread. So that we could read pages one after another without having to go back and forth multiple times, and without having to click on muliple pages separately.

This is an excellent app I've used my last 3 phones a Nexus 6, Pixel 1 and now Pixel 5. There are many struggles though. For one, recently the app crashes in my Pixel 5, it does not accept input from the Gboard, only wants to Paste the last item in memory. I have to stop the app and relaunch. Another pain is associative graphic input had never worked. Take a picture or as a graphic and then write on it. As soon as you change something, the notes move apart from the picture. Please fix these..

I continue to use this app regularly and it has become my favorite office app far and away. The problem is, the whole "eggs in one basket" philosophy. I really, really want to like Evernote, but the compatability with my devices and the familar office interface make this app the winner.

  10. Jonathan Melton-avatar

    Jonathan Melton

I didn't even realize I needed this. Awesome app! Great spot to keep random musings and notes on various things. I had notes stashed in documents all over my computer, but this provides a central spot to access them whenever I need to.

  11. Dan Chirpich-avatar

    Dan Chirpich

As another reviewer noted, trying to make a selection or move the cursor around to an intended spot can be infinitely frustrating. OneNote is very good at placing the cursor somewhere other than where you're trying to select.

  12. Andrew Gutierrez-avatar

    Andrew Gutierrez

Very useful app for productivity & sketching. The only issue is with the home-screen widget. The dark theme is broken, with half the text left in light theme, & half in dark. It's small, but it is a touch annoying to look at - still very useful, of course.

  13. Kip Chastain-avatar

    Kip Chastain

I've tried the others (won't name them) and I keep coming back to OneNote. It's so convenient once you've disciplined yourself to use it properly and cross-platformn is icing on the cake. Great for work and personal use.

  14. Daniel Simonds-avatar

    Daniel Simonds

Updated review based on Samsung tablet usage with S Pen Things it does well: • Infinite scrolling • Syncing and categorising notes. Things it does poorly: • Terrible palm rejection (have to reset zoom constantly) • Only 4 pen presets with a tiny range of set colours • No customisation for line spacing (using ruled page template) • Moving or resizing images, lassoed text etc on screen is buggy • etc TL,DR - This app is incredibly clunky, and very basic compared to the desktop and iOS apps

  15. Nikos Gs-avatar

    Nikos Gs

Works very well for me. My only complaint is that starting the mobile app is kind of clunky, and that certain features (such as selecting a default notebook, or setting up a notebook shortcut) is somewhat unintuitive and hard to figure out. Other than that, all is good.

  16. FARHAN KASSAM-avatar

Lots of bugs. I love one note on my pc. However the android app is riddled with bugs. In my usage the keyboard stops responding (I'm using the gboard keyboard - but it happens with MS swift keyboard too). I can't move the cursor or even enter type text into the notes app. And I'm an office 365 user. Horrible experience.

  17. Dennis Kesner-avatar

    Dennis Kesner

Love this app. Instantly updates changes on all my devices PC and Android. I keep this as a recipe book, quick reference to wisdom and witty sayings I have collected for my ministry, conversion calculations (mm to caliber, muzzle energy, etc) and a reference guide to high potassium foods (yep, potassium can be harmful to your health.) Handiest app I have I my arsenal.👍👍👍

  18. M-avatar

Constantly crashes when re-opening after app has been minimized or running in background for a few minutes. Sync doesn't always work, will get page conflicts error, even though I only use this app on one device. Sometimes if edited a page offline, upon connecting to the internet I will lose my changes.

Telugu language is not correctly rendered inside notes. For example "సాయంత్రం " is rendered as "స ా యం త ్రం" This is happening since long time. This happens even in PC app on Windows. Please fix this. We are waiting for a fix since a long term.. Otherwise we have to migrate to other more taking apps...

  20. CK구리스틴-avatar

Works very well for everyone who needs to write down notes with different topics, It helps me to organize my school notes for every subjects and compile them as one notebook for the whole. The best thing I like here is that it can be share it across all devices i have so it's very convinient. I highly recommend this app for everyone!

  21. Rohit Kuna-avatar

    Rohit Kuna

It's the most unreliable mobile app, its always asking to sign in and if I try to sign in ... This error is shown "Can't connect to the server" a hundred times, fix this bug first. I've stopped using this app because I can't access my notes. Very disappointed, such a good featureful tool but totally unreliable.

  22. Nigel Wrightson-avatar

    Nigel Wrightson

OneNote continues to be almost impossible to use as the cursor constantly freezes or simply disappears while one is editing a note, requiring a backward step out of the note and back in again, or it randomly deletes or adds back in previously deleted text. No tools to assist with drawing diagrams, tables, etc. Your notes will show up in the desktop app, but that's just about the only connection they share.

  23. Mark Burgin-avatar

    Mark Burgin

No instructions or guide when you first enter the app. Info on Microsoft website (as is we've come to expect from Microsoft) is utterly useless and bears no resemblance to what you actually see on your phone. This may be a good app but I don't have three hours to try and find out.

  24. mindy wood-avatar

This app has saved my tail when it comes to keeping my various projects organized at work. I love that it syncs across my devices, making it super convenient to check in on what I've accomplished and what remains to be done. Wonderful organizational tool!

  25. Paul Tomalin-avatar

I'm still having the issue where no notebooks are showing in the list when trying to move a page to another notebook. Raised a ticket and literally nothing has been done to fix it. The latest version still has this bug. Very disappointed.

  26. Salvor Hardin-avatar

    Salvor Hardin

Page list is able to show about 15 characters of each title. That's not really enough to tell what each page is about, especially if titles have a common prefix. There's no thumbnails (at least the Win10 version has tiny ones) so finding a page is very difficult. I create a notebook. I create a section. 20 minutes later it is still syncing. Not too useful.

  27. Rod Lancer-avatar

    Rod Lancer

I would say this app should be in beta as it has a lot of bug like always redirect to wrong note and sometimes assignment features are broken. If there is multi-image, some of image may disappear. You should improved your application

  28. Dragonzord-avatar

At this point I might as well cancel that yearly Microsoft 365 subscription that I was paying for and delete every Microsoft app on my phone. They'll cater to Apple's iOS but when it comes to Android OS this app lacks many features. There's no excuse!

  29. Geraldus Dimas-avatar

    Geraldus Dimas

Great handwriting feature. All feature in this app is totally free and it's awesome. One of the best note with handwriting feature, but the program still laggy (especially when i do handwriting, also pinch and drag with two fingers). But overall it's good note app

  30. Maa Ny-avatar

The perfect muti-platform note-taking app, I love it and have been using it since my Surface 3. I aslo use it on Galaxy note 9, my PC and also on iOS on my iphone. Works perfectly regardless of the platform 😍😍

Sharing a webpage to Onenote no longer works. I've tried it on three different Android devices and multiple browsers. It times out everytime. This is a shame because I love Onenote its usefulness is diminished.

  32. Prawesh Pradhan-avatar

    Prawesh Pradhan

Been using OneNote on windows so I liked this android version. There are few things that's annoying out here like only one level of grids unlike 3 in windows, only one way to erase ie the whole stroke gets erased unlike we can erase just the portion of stroke in windows

  33. Rj Learningz-avatar

    Rj Learningz

A very good app. The only thing is that it can't add straight lines or shapes, although overall, it works completely and fully functional. 😊

  34. Leandro Almeida-avatar

  35. Andreja Kojanić-avatar

    Andreja Kojanić

I'm a big fan of One Note, using it consistently at work; however the usability of the app is greatly reduced for me since the sharing to ON from the browser or other apps doesn't work at all. It gets stuck on the "preview" pop-up and even if I hit Save without waiting for the preview, it doesn't go to ON at all. It's making me do additional work with link copying.

  36. Jair Steele-avatar

    Jair Steele

Good for quick notes or more thought out notes. Has a nice UI with text formatting options that are useful but unobtrusive. Online syncing is very useful, with a desktop app so I don't have to open my browser and find my notes.

  37. Darius Mong'are-avatar

    Darius Mong'are

I like the feature of "notebooks" which helps organize information. Also the righting page has no width limit. You can right as far right as possible which is very nice too.😀 Best note taking app in the world.

  39. Brandon Beckley-avatar

Good for note taking on the go. Easy to work with. Though the menu for making adjustments to the page itself (such as changing page color, adding rule lines, etc)seems limited though that just may be me.

  40. Mikhail Nemtsev-avatar

Cannot insert images inline from my device (only inserts images as embedded attachment). I would like to be able to insert images and write on them. A very useful app otherwise.

  41. Rohit Mishra-avatar

    Rohit Mishra

Some words disappear randomly from my notes and Undo works when it feels like it. The cursor freezes randomly and if I draw something, it moves and gets on top of the text written above/below it. I used to love this app so much but it has become pathetic now. I lost so much of my work recently when I accidentally deleted them. No recycle bin? Are you serious?

  42. John Pellarini-avatar

    John Pellarini

Despite many requests, OneNote for Android still doesn't support Samsung S Pen properly. You cannot expand text selection using S Pen, instead you have to use your finger or a non S Pen stylus. Real pain! Emailed developer a number of times - Nothing!

  43. jackson schmitt-avatar

This app pisses me tf off. It works fine except that you can't rename or delete notebooks. Literally if you accidentally make a notebook with random letters for the name suck Microsoft's dick you can't delete it or rename it I hope you don't have OCD.

Downloaded to open .one files. Files dont populate in app. When I try to select file through my files, says no programs can open file. What's the point? Internet says need some kind of sharing from pc, but not everyone has that option... pretty disappointed.

  50. Mike Hilario-avatar

Still checking out this app but so far pretty good. I'm just confused about the difference between "Onenote" and "Onenote for Windows 10". Seems they are completely separate apps as one stores your information in the one drive cloud and the other on to your local pc.

It's a great app for sure but there a re few things that really tick me off. The major one is the unbelieveable lag. I'm a bio student so you can image the amount of drawing I need but everytime I go to the draw feature it is always at least a second behind my stylus. Not only that but when you want to quickly go from drawing to note taking, you can to stop the drawing then exit out of the tab and click "home" or "view" in order to start typing. It's a little too slow for my taste.

App lacks many of the features found in the desktop version. My biggest annoyance is when viewing a note it floats around on screen. Missing feature would be to resize the note to fit the screen with a font that can be read. Forever having to resize note, stretch and scroll around to read it. Being able to open to the my notes list would be better than opening to the recent pages list. Syncing works well.

I've used OneNote for years on my PC. It's convenient to be able to access all that content offline on iOS, Android. Being able to add photos, sound etc to a note from my phone is great. No distracting ads or additional charges BUT: positioning the cursor, adding suggested words, formatting, selecting text... all touch and go. Often I need to make multiple passes just to write a line of text. The typing experience is so wonky, I'm testing other note taking apps.

I had some very important text that I had on a sticky note in this program. While I was highlighting, the keyboard perceived I was swipe typing because of the scrolling. It wiped out a large chunk of text. THERE IS NO UNDO. Why didn't I use a notepage instead? I was in a hurry to dictate and not able to navigate through sections, etc. It really doesn't matter why. It's not like Microsoft can't program a simple undo. I couldn't find a single person or reference. It's just lost now. 😡

It's a pretty good app. But lately I've been having the worst issues with it freezing up and glitching. The words get frozen in place on the screen no matter how much you move it. Sometimes it won't write at all. Now it's hardly syncing anymore. I've been having to restart the app more and more. It's a shame because it is a good app for note-taking.

Please, for once can there be a Microsoft program that doesn't randomly move the cursor into the middle of a previous word repeatedly? It's so old and obnoxious. I'm trying to type and the cursor keeps jumping around into previous words and I have to keep deleting and re-writing everything. This doesn't happen any other time unless it's with something Microsoft

Absolutely adore both pc versions of OneNote but I think the mobile app could be better. The widgets really need to be more attractive cause their sharp corners and awkward sizes make them look very out of place on a modern smartphone. Sounds a bit petty, but it's honestly quite important for an app. The app could use a little more modern design and a few more smartphone specific functions for convinience. But overall a great app, and a perfect replacement for the disaster evernote has become.

I started using OneNote when Evernote became unusable. So that's good? No. The OneNote app on Android is missing crucial features: (1) Sorting notes (alphabetically, or by date created) (2) Selecting multiple notes (for moving, deleting, etc) (3) Displaying more than a single line of a note in lists. If you're a software developer, there's a great opportunity for you to create a killer note app that combines the best features of Evernote and OneNote. Make it happen and you'll make a fortune.

Lost so much work because it allowed me to delete pages because it comes up in my OneDrive as a webpage. So when I went to clean up my folders, it looked like garbage, extra files I didn't need. Well, there was no recovery option, so years of writing was gone cause I decided to delete HTML files. Obviously, my fault, but at the same time, it wasn't my fault. It should not be stored in my OneDrive, or if it HAS to be, put it in a special folder. You suck for that

Unstable when switching input language and/or using special symbols such as " ( , *, &, etc.). It often moves the input position randomly, so I don't know where I'm typing. Simultaneously, automatic deletion of some parts of the text occurs. Very problematic and unreliable. I also don't like the built-in emojis (eg. national flags are missing) Improve stability of typing and I'll give 5 stars, bc the sync process and overall design is very nice and still much more stable than Evernote...

Personally I just wish that it worked a little bit more seamless with the Note 20. Right as of now I write things down with the Ipad as well as the Note and they sync seamlessly together and that is like a perfect pair between getting things done. If you have Office 360 as well with OneNote installed on your computer if you can go through those notes as well, make them as complicated as you NEED. I'm still having a hard time wondering how people are not believing that this is that simplistic.

We clipper fails miserably, most of the time it times out or gets stuck in notifications. Seems they it has issues for years when you search for a solution. Not a suitable Evernote replacement unfortunately :( So many UX fails in this app. No sorting of notes in the app. Wacky editor where scrolling up and down the page moves side to side. If viewing a long note and the screen locks, when you unlock the screen it scrolls to the top of the note.

I decided to go back to college and needed a notebook, but the thought of a bunch of spiral notebooks did not sound like a great idea. I tried Evernote first, but I found it complicated and not at all user friendly. However, OneNote is amazing. I tell everyone to try it. The only issue I have had is that I originally started it with my school email and there was no way to export the notebooks. I did find a work around though, so all is good. ♡ it!

DEVELOPERS: I once chose this over Evernote... THEN, I password protected a file and forgot it. I lost a lot of unique & necessary data that day for lack of a password reset option. Also, I went from PC to phone and tried to use it. The lack of mobile-friendly Auto format made the note useless. Three things that MUST be fixed for OneNote to be taken seriously: 1. Password reset for protected files 2. Default text box size at screen width. 3. Mobile and tablet friendly formatting *Add checkboxes

It's pretty good, could be more refined. The interface feels pretty clunky (since it's so similar to the desktop version, which works fine - on a desktop, not on a phone), but overall you can get everything done that you want to. I prefer OneNote to Evernote partially for it's interface (especially on desktop), and general ease of use - you have notebooks, those notebooks have section tabs, those sections have pages, and a single page can be any length. Overall smashing, and very effective.

Never works properly. Constantly bugs out, refuses to open notes and makes my phone freeze up. When it does open a new note most of the time I'll be unable to type, and if I can type then I best not want to come back and edit it anytime soon, or go out of the app and expect to be able to edit the note on return. Amazing, your last note app. Gave it 4 stars because 1. I can't write on a password protected page after reinserting the password on the re-prompt (I have to leave that page and then open again); 2. When opening a page on OneNote for Windows that was created on the Android app, the top part is cut (the space above the title is removed, while the ones created on PC look just fine); and 3.The "recent" section on PC and Android are slow, and sometimes don't even register changes from each other.

I've been using OneNote to write out my DnD campaign info in a neat, universally accessible place where I can make changes from any device. The app had its fair share of bugs like notebooks needing to be sync'd twice before changes appear, but now it is totally unusable. Since the last update, OneNote has been unable to connect to the internet using my wifi, which it did perfectly fine before. The best notes app for serious notes-taking by a long shot. Only annoyance is Microsoft's love to their default font, which I prefer to change, but this mobile version doesn't allow changing, so all notes made with it default to Calibri. My solution is to have a template note made on PC (I prefer Verdana for readability) which I just make a copy of. Small extra step, not a real problem.

The only complaint I really have is that the app opens to recent pages instead of either your notebook list of just the top level directory of your most recently opened notebook. I'm sure some enjoy the current functionality, so an option to choose repair be nice. Otherwise, the interface has elements which are superior to the pc version, such as the side bar view which allows you to see all your tabs and groups while viewing a page or tab inside a group. This used to be an option on pc.

Using it more when I got fed up with Evernote. It's great for flexible note taking and I use it for classes regularly. But the web clipping function needs serious work because right now it's completely unusable. It stalls out and says to check my internet connection, even if I'm literally standing right next to the router. The app is also lacking some useful features from the desktop version, namely displaying my custom tags I created there and allowing me to filter by them.
