Microsoft Launcher provides a new home screen experience that empowers you to be more productive on your Android device. Microsoft Launcher is highly customisable, allowing you to organise everything on your phone. Your personalised feed makes it easy to view your calendar, to do lists, and more. Sticky Notes on the go. When you set up Microsoft Launcher as your new home screen, you can either start fresh with your favourite apps or import your current home screen layout. Need to switch back to your previous home screen? You can do that, too!

This version of Microsoft Launcher has been rebuilt on a new codebase to make new features possible, including dark mode, personalised news, and numerous performance improvements (improved load time, less memory use, better battery performance, and fluent animation).

Personalised news:
· Stay informed with a personalised news reading experience that is consistent across all your devices.

Customisable icons:
· Give your phone a consistent look and feel with custom icon packs and adaptive icons.

Beautiful wallpapers:
· Enjoy a fresh new image from Bing every day or choose your own photos.

Dark theme:
· Comfortably use your phone at night or in low light environments with Microsoft Launcher’s new dark theme. This feature is compatible with Android’s dark mode settings.

Improved performance:
· Microsoft Launcher now loads faster, uses less memory, is more battery efficient, and offers fluent animations.

Landscape mode:
· Microsoft Launcher supports vertical and horizontal orientations to enhance your viewing preference.

Microsoft Launcher asks for the following optional permissions:

· Microphone: Used for speech-to-text functionality for Launcher features, such as Bing Search, Bing Chat, To Do, and Sticky Notes.

· Photo and video: Used for getting features, such as your wallpaper, Blur Effect, and Bing Chat Visual Search, and to show recent activities and backups. On Android 13 and higher, these permissions are replaced with the ‘All file’ access permissions.

· Notifications: Needed to notify you of any update or app activity.

· Contacts: Used for searching contacts on Bing Search.

· Location: Used for the Weather widget.

· Phone: Allows you to call your contacts with a swipe in Launcher.

· Camera: Used to create image notes for the Sticky Notes card and to search for images in Bing Search.

· Calendar: Used to show calendar info for the Calendar card in your Launcher feed.

You can still use Microsoft Launcher even if you do not consent to these permissions, but some functions may be restricted.

Installed this on my work phone, Samsung Galaxy A50. It did what I needed it to do, put my apps in alphabetical order rather than the complete randomness of the stock Samsung launcher. Does it with no ads too. Finally my work phone is one step closer to my personal phone (Pixel 3a XL). Too bad the Pixel Launcher is "incompatible" with the Samsung phone. The Microsoft Launcher seems to be an adequate substitute thus far.

I would give it a five star, but it's an android application. I hate it when Microsoft surrenders to Google. It's 3-stars for not being Windows Phone and for not looking like the Metro interface. And the weird useless recently used apps panel gets in the way when trying to reach for the Quick Panel. Recently used apps panel is only good for using memory space and processing resources. Never functional.

Ok so I've been using this for over a year now. Here's what I came up with for bugs. When you put your phone in landscape and then back, the homepage is jammed in the middle and won't return unless you restart your phone. The gestures, you have to do twice in order to open. I have a dual screen (lg v60) and I used to be able to have 2 screen set up but during one of the updates that is no longer available. I wish these bugs could be resolved because it seems like in order to fix them restart lot

I have been using the Microsoft Launcher on my Huawei phone for over a year and switched to the Samsung S20+ thereafter. The synchronization automatically arranged all my applications & folders as they were on the Huawei seamlessly, and kept all my launcher settings as previously set. This launcher is my personal favorite of the various ones out there that I have tried.

I recently migrated from Nova, as I really like the widget page and find it extremely useful. I would like to be able to search within icon packs when changing an app icon, as sometimes there are thousands icons and is really difficult to find what you need. Other than that, the backup option works well and restores the position of all apps even not installed ones. Perfect when you migrate from another phone. I would like to see some more customisation options for icon size.

While my experience is overall good, I just got a new phone and opened up the Microsoft ToDo app, and there's a section that lists all my flagged emails. Great, right? Now I don't have to scroll through dozens of emails to find the ones I've flagged! When I opened the flagged section all my flagged emails were there...Including emails I deleted 4 years ago, in no particular order, AND including all the emails flagged by SPAM senders. Come on, Microsoft, that's not what I need on my to do list.

I like the lightness of the launcher overall unlike some others that are too packed with complex settings, don't miss the pixel browser much. However, there is a glitch while opening the task manager and it's not as smooth as my standard pixel browser. Kind of annoying. Also, for no reason the calling app shows for a millisecond everytime I unlock the phone.

Just installed on my old Huawei P10. Discounting the fact that I had to rebuild my well organized folders for each group of apps (like media, maps, utils, etc,) and I have lost my folder with the pinned web pages, it is 90% similar with the MIUI of Huawei. Do not get me wrong, it is an amazing launcher, and seems faster but it did not offer any substantial advantage in comparison with the native Huavei launcher. Especially if I have to get used to a new one,

Great launcher, almost ideal, but a couple of minor suggestions: (1) "Largest" icon size is still too small for my tastes, so how about an "Extra-Large" option? (2) For icon editing/customization, the launcher should open the icon pack app so that the user can use the search function; searching 5,000 icons manually to find an alternative Notes or File Manager icon is time-consuming and impractical. Otherwise, most of the other features are on point. Using on both a phone and a tablet.

After an Android update a bug occured. I cannot swipe away the apps from the multi task view. I can only press the clear all button. This makes the app almost unusable. I will give back the five stars when it is fixed. Thank you. Edit: Thank you for acting upon the problem, the app deserves 5 stars. Much more customizable than the default launcher, also you can resize widgets to your liking. It's great, I hope the bug is fixed soon.
