    So bad, on every platform. Always has errors, always freezes, never remembers your login or where you stopped playing a series, always take you back to the home screen and you have to navigate all the way through to where you want to find something, you can't follow a tv series but it makes a follow on the season.. horrible usability and experience

    Terrible app. Great programming, but downloaded content gets erased, it never remembers what you watched last, or where you stopped watching, can't even differentiate between seasons. It's got a looooooooong way to go. Can't hold a candle to the Netflix app. Just bad code, lousy interface. Shame.

    Worse app ever. Freeze all the time. It doesn't buffer to keep streaming when Internet signal 📶 oscillate. YouTube works fine and Netflix, they don't freeze. I think I am gonna cancel my subscription. And who the hick had an idea to put music each time I open the app? This person should be fired. No one like this stupid music each time opens the app to let everyone know I am watching Hbo. This is terrible. Users. Don't download the app, you will lose your money.

    No matter how good the content is, arguably the best series in the history of TV, I give up. There is no excuse for how bad this app is. It crashes and freezes. Subtitles from another show sometimes come up or for no reason are missing of a few episodes. For 3 months I had to authorize my TV every single time I would launch the app. And the best, offline watching impossible if you are not... online! I might be back if I hear they asked the Netflix folks to do a complete makeover of their app.

    This app is absolutely garbage. The whole HBO UI/UX is the worst I've ever seen in a streaming platform, netflix is not perfect but still light years ahead. Please throw it all out and just copy what they did, it's easier and better for EVERYONE.

    The worst streaming app so far, except for the content itself I can't find anything good to say about this app. Badly designed and inconsistent UI. Need to clear data and repeat login daily, as the app says my session was invalid. Connecting an Android TV device fails with no reason. Hard to find content except for the ones being pushed as "featured", for series I often have to go through the A-Z tab which means picking one-single-letter to browser for content. Seriously, get this fixed.

    Complaints: Annoying vignette when you open the app; no skipping the opening; the app does not show you in which episode you stopped. Very poor app for such a big company!

    The content is good. Vut I strongly recommended development teak to spend 15 minutes on competititor apps like Netflix and Disney +. They will understand what should be done.

    The worst streaming app ever! I do not know how a huge company like Home Box Office allows such a poor and mediocre app to be developed and released for its customers. I do hope one day a serious company like Amazon, purchase HBO and make things better.

    The support keep asking the model of my tv and phone and version of the app, but every single person here is having the same issue. It just doesn't track where I left in any series ou movie. Extremely annoying. Not to mention the whole impossibility of usage of the UI. Lagging is the law. The worst stream service. And quit with that loud awful intro. If wanna focus on HBOMax shut this one down at once.

    subscribed for simultaneously transmission of GOT, as many of the users here. I haven't received what I bought. Went through support online and they limited to say that the problem was only in my side of connection, which is hard to believe since all other apps and service were running fine. Additionally, a lot of user experienced the same issues that I presente to technical team. So disappointed with such horrible service provide in all ways, from support to the stream service.

    The content is great but the app itself has a lot of troubles. It jumps two or three episodes automatically and it's a pain in the ass to get around and back to the episode I want to watch. Sometimes it take something around 10 to 15 minutes till I can get things right again. It's frustrating but I hope you guys update the app soon solving this glitches. Again, great content. But to keep the subscription, the app can be a deal breaker if it becomes an obstacle.

    I can't even sign me up. Whenever I try to proceed to the next step I just see "ERROR". And it seems my account was created, but when I try to login, another error. No wonder the app has less than 3 stars. You are about to make millions, but you arr gonna lose the opportunity to make more millions. I'll sleep without seeing got =\... Maybe tomorrow...

    I don't usually post reviews, but this time I need to express the worst experience i've had! I've already used most streaming apps (at least the 3 biggest ones). And i signed up for HBO GO because the quality of the series (at least for me) seemed be superior to that of its competitors. So I thought, even the price it's a bit salty, it will be worth it. Big mistake! It doesn't solve anything to have super productions, where millions of dollars are spent, if you don't invest in servers and try to improve your software and player. To begin with I think that your software is not even tested (from so many errors that I could notice, both in usability and in grotesque errors that the programmer could see if he/she had did the tests). Every time I watch it is the same thing, come back and it looks like I’m watching the content in 240p, when it doesn’t crash once and just keeping buffering. But it's your internet, with the passage of time the internet has been accessible all over the national territory here in Brazil, so it is common to find 100MB of upload and download in homes, as is my case, great fiber connection. Connection that would support running up to 4k, another thing that the company is far from offering, since the super quality is limited in 720p. Not even the first week has passed and I already canceled my signature. I don't have money to spend with garbage.

    It's good that they offer 7 days for you to try their app, so you can see it's not good before paying for it. I only tested to see if I would be able to watch GoT, and it didn't even login last Sunday. There is no app for neither my TVs (but they do have Netflix), and streaming from my tablet works, up until it doesn't. Then I have to reboot everything - including Chromecast - to be able to continue watching anything. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

    The app the a total garbage. Every time you open it plays HBO intro at full volume to let everyone knows that you ran out of options on Netflix, YouTube and anything else you have. I actually like the content but the app can't deliver. I actually got so mad that I stopped what I was doing to come here and give it 1 star. I wish it could be zero. When I try to play on my Chromecast it always get stuck and on my phone it's the same. I can't even properly search for a show that I know they have.

    it has the worst experience I have ever had in a streaming app. looks unfinished, does not save where i have left on an episode. I does not show my last watched show, so every time I close the app I have to search for the show and remeber in which episode i had left. It has presented several connection errors specially on sunday night, making impossible to watch any show, or even navigate in the app. it charges a high price for a service that is poorly provided, the content is good. app sucks.

    I downloaded the app and paid for the subscription but every time I try to use it, the app crashes, and I cannot watch GOT or any other movies or tv shows. I cannot understand how a TV channel of the size of HBO can still not support several users accessing at the same time. Every Sunday is the same thing. Really disappointed.

    The app works well, even with Chromecast. But there are some things that could be improved, like subtitles personalization (for some reason, the Spanish subtitle is white and the Portuguese one is yellow). There are also too many loading screens: app starting for the first time? Loading screen. Wanna see info about an episode? Loading screen. App starting for the second time? Loading screen. Are you in the middle of an episode? Loading screen. (yep, while you're watching). C'mon HBO!

    Nothing seems to work. It does connect to my chrome cast, but when I press start it shows me the message "impossible to connect", even though the HBO brand is already showing on TV and says it's ready. So, I tried to watch on my phone and then, when I press Start, another message pops up saying "PurchaseParameter.authXML is empty". I've checked payment method and it was Ok, I've turned the app off and tried it again... got the same bad experience.

    I'm trying to understand how such a big company like HBO releases such a ridiculous app like this... The app doesn't work well with chromecast; it's not ready to work with screens like Samsung's Galaxy S series, what means that they crop the image when reproducing videos on such devices. Now the best part: I did a factory reset on my Galaxy S8 and then, when I tried to reconnect to the app, I got a message saying that my account was nonexistent on their databases and I lost the free trial. Thx

    Had to create a new subscription because the app didn't processed it correctly on the first time. But for my surprise, the first subscription was created correctly on Google Play and the "new" subscription was charged right away!!! I didn't get my free trial and I was charged BRL 92,90 incorrectly because of app internal issues!!

    Every Sunday night, there is a breakdown on the app. And that's something predictable, because happens EVERY SUNDAY, when GOT's new episode is released.     Good content, but the UI is crappy. Every time I open the app I need to hit search to find the series I was watching some hours ago and find the exact episode, because this crappy app does not save where I was. Also, the navigation sucks, you have to hit some small almost invisible button to get into the results, it's unbelievable. Please, put the developer team to work!

Too expensive for the worse service an streaming service which is supposed to deliver the best experience along with outstanding content.     App keeps crashing when casting to the TV via Chromecast. Stuck with English subtitles when casting. Can't change that. The app was updated yesterday. It got even worse. So frustrating. Not worth paying for unless you only intend to watch it on the small screen of your mobile phone.

    The HBO original content is no doubt the best thing about it. It is a shame though it comes with the worst UX possible. And forget about using it on a Smart TV, at least while they don't fix those rage inducing bugs that freeze the screen from time to time. A shame indeed. I hope someday they fix it, so I can enjoy the series and all the original content that I loved for years

    I have a 10mbps internet speed, it's a good speed rate but your adaptive bitrate streaming make it sucks! It auto scales to the highest quality every time, but it lags! It might be due other people using my internet, but usually it would be much better if we have ability to choose which bitrate we want to stream instead of the only automatic one like YouTube does. This application needs so many improvements and changes to make it finally fair for the paid service!

    horrible UI, no connection between app and smart tv whatsoever. Most horrible thing is how the Samsung smart tv app shows a qr code that can't be used by the app... oh and btw, the Samsung smart tv app gets zero stars :( just fyi the pause/play UI does not work, movies/series do not resume from where you stopped...just poor UX... go learn with Netflix please!

    May 6th and the apps kicks you out, prevents you from logging and the best thing: it was workings fine UNTIL GoT's new episode. Seems that we, HBO Go users who are PAYING for this service can't expect anymore to see things on launch. Once the broken account creation processes is over and you manage to get into, the app fails to load miserably when is the GoT day.

    Just as other million of people, I subscribed for HBO go in order to watch GOT the moment it is aired. However..... I couldn't be more disappointed. The app does not support the demand. We can't login right away, and we aren't able to start streaming it the moment it is aired. I'm cancelling my subscription right now.

    i thought that an company like hbo would make a more robust streaming platform . its simply impossible to use it when a new GoT episode gets released. Even if you manage to login, you cant start anything because everytime you get an error " failed to communicate with hbo servers , check your internet connection" . Netflix and amazon prime work flawlessly , while hbo go cant if keep thing working when there is high demand . that definitely a shame ...

    Same old, same old, tried to watch game of thrones on premiere, but it's nearly impossible to. Aside from that the UX kind of sucks, limited subtitle options, and streaming quality is very poor. And it's quite expensive for what it delivers.

I have it downloaded on my android TV and on my phone and both of them I get this message as soon as I open the app "5006 we have experienced a problem connecting to hbo go. please wait a few minutes and try again" Unfortunately I will have to cancel my subscription, because I can only watch it on the computer.

    I like of the HBO's programs, but this app doesn't work well, unfortunately. I often stayed leaving and backing to the app cus it had bugs like don't change the language, for example. Besides, in the TV's app we get in and sometimes doesn't load the movies or ever the own app.

    what a lame app and business model. I clicked on the ad here in Google play.. and for my surprise i had to get a membership to the full HBO Go. I just want to watch the Game of Thrones, damn it. I don't want the rest. I'd pay 30 bucks for watching the full season for 3 months. Imagine how mucb revenue. just for one series. damn it, if i could only watch GoT

    It doesn't remember my audio and subtitle preferences, need to change every time. It doesn't remember which episodes of a serie that I already watched, neither have different profiles for different people in the same house. It takes too long to load the preview images, really slow CDN.

    For the second sunday in a row it won't let me log in to watch GOT live.The rest of time it works ok but it shouldnt be advertising that you can watch GOT when it never works.i wish i had subscribed to the channel on my tv. Don't download this app if you want yo watch GOT live. i will cancel as soon a GOT is over. Not happy

    Doesn't work with my android tv. I open it on my tv and it says it has stopped working. When I open on my phone I am able to cast to the tv but after a few minutes the video just gets completely messy and the screen gets split in two. Half of the HBO logo in one side, half on the other 🙄

    Awful app. Every time when the network broadcast a new episode, it's impossible to watch,and you're charged for it. A complete disrespect with the costumer. Subscribe a new cable tv system but do not pay for this app.

    Worst app I have ever used. Thank God they give you a 7 day trial so you can unsubscribe. I honestly wonder if HBO Go North America is as bad as ours. I managed to log in a couple of times after failing so many times only to get error messages when trying to watch some series.

    Awful. Just started paying specifically to watch GoT and guess what? Two hours after the episode has aired and I still haven't been able to watch it. All I'm seeing is a variety of error codes. I want my money back and my subscription cancelled. This service sucks.

    Unbelievable that you don't have a feature that displays the last watched movie or TV show or keeps track what was the last episode I've watched. Also, everything I try to watch starts with spanish subtitles God knows why.

    Was logged in and when GOT started it jist decided to automatically log me off and didn't let me log back on, with only an error msg popping up. Each time the error code/ID is different, so no troubleshooting available On laptop

    Awful UX compared with other streamings: no casting option (medieval); no english subtitles (in Brazil); no saving position on the episode/movie - not to mention the streaming lags even on a stable/fast internet. Too bad the app doesn't meet up with the HBO standards.

    Not only the app is awful but the whole HBO Go service is. They give the option to login using your service provider account but the username and password are always invalid while I can easily login the service provider website using the exactly same user and password.

    Have to reinstall every time I try to use it, and still not always work. I expect so much more from HBO. Most free apps work almost flawlessly, while an app from a multimillionaire conpany cannot. You guys seem to be asking for piracy.

    I'm in Brazil and there's no option to choose English subtitles. I was planning to utilize the app to watch my favorites tv shows and to practice my english reading/listening, but no English subtitles it's a big deal breaker for me

    This app does not work. Ever. It's way better and faster to find and play piracy than it it to use the official plataform.     Awful experience. We pay a considerable amount for not getting an even reasonable service. Every time there is a new episode release (e.g. Game of Thrones) the whole service goes down. Unacceptable for such a company like HBO.

    Bad streaming it keeps loading on TV a sometimes on phone, there is no scene selection, no doubly Atmos, no option for multiple users. I signed up for a 3 months payments plan, I will just cancel it when 7 days trial are over. Hbo got a good library but a terrible terrible librarian!

    A very rich content with very poor innovation management @HBO. This is one of the worst apps I've ever used, both in smart TV and phone. I'm sure you guys could arrange some budget to improve it, you definitely can compete w/ Netflix & Amazon - please do it quickly before it's too late.

    How do you expect to get some customers on the streaming service if your app is broken from the registration process? I just tried to create my account and it tells me my email is already registered. When I try to retrieve my password, it tells me the email does not exist. You simply don't feel confident enough to pay for a service when your entry point for it is already broken. The whole world is about to use your service, and something tells me you might not be ready for it. Be professional.
