    My love for HBO content is only surpassed by my utter hatred for the HBO NOW site and app. Absolutely horrendous playback experience - buffers frequently and forever And no, it is NOT my internet connection - Netflix, Hulu, Youtube all work fine in full glorious UHD while HBO sputters on.... for $15 a month! I expect at least a base level competent service. They don't even have a 10 sec forward button, or a "Skip" for the annoying ads or intros. I already paid for the content! Nope, this is definitively NOT a Home Box Office experience.

    apk Don't know if it's the app or quality of WiFi from so much use in the neighborhood during this quarantine, but I have a hard time connecting to HBO, it says it "can't play the movie at this time". I have no problems with NETFLIX, HULU or AMAZON PRIME so I assume it's the app. I can watch it on my phone because my phone has data but who wants to watch a tiny screen all the time? Also proves my point. Too bad, I like HBO.

    Just like the HBO Go app, this one has pushed a broken update, the video plays for 5 seconds and says "Can't Play Video... We're having trouble playing this video, please try again later." Before you tell me to try your steps, I already did all of them. YOU forced the update, it worked fine on the version before the last few days. Don't gaslight me. You can repeat it on all videos, even hitting the skip forward button throws the error. Works fine on my PC. I would go back to the old version, but you forced it. Do not force updates unless they are compatible with all devices. 😡

    Like everyone else has said, Chromecast support is terrible. Back button actually goes forward and the time slider is completely inaccurate. And to HBO support on here, please stop asking us to file a ticket or go to your troubleshooting page. With this many people complaining about the same thing, it's obvious the problem is your app.

    $15 a month obviously goes to content and not IT resources. The app is buggy especially when using with a Chromecast. Not to mention the catalog takes forever to load when browsing titles. Either their app is so overwhelmed on resources to load or someone after ripping a line of coke thought it was a great idea to purposely added a load delay. It's obnoxious when trying to find something to watch. The moral of the review is fix your app. HBO has content, but they lack in app development.

    Thanks for nothing, HBO. You pushed an update that disabled support for my Android device and left me no way to log in on any other device. Password reset doesn't work. All I can get is "Try Again - Service Code H-blah-blah-blah". Absolutely infuriating. Send me a password reset link or give me a refund.

    Extremely buggy of late. Constantly freezing, skip forward and back 10 seconds aren't working as they used to. Please fix it. Maybe your servers are overwhelmed after giving away access but you won't win over many people with this experience. Update: After deleting data and cache, reinstalling the App, checking internet speeds, restarting router etc... The app continues to be unwatchable. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR APP.

    This app stinks. I pay $15/mo. When I start a show I get to watch HBO adds then it says "having trouble steaming try again later" which I do and it does the same thing. Can't figure out how to discontinue the service either. I wish HBO wasn't so profit driven and could come to an accord with the satellite carrier so I could watch on TV instead of tablet.

    Not sure what's up, but used to really love this service. Still do. But ever since I reactivated my subscription, it's been acting up. Can't sign in on my tv, and on the computer, it lags and fails to play. It's seems to barely work on my phone. Questioning if I should've re-subscribed now... After a while, they've been doing well. Personally, Love HBONOW! Check your ISP first. That's usually the problem. Highly recommend this streaming service.

    I am disappointed in the price. I signed up for a free trial. It was only 7 days which was disappointing because the Showtime app gave me 30 days and is priced less. I thought it was $10.99, definitely not $14.99. Very disappointed when only watch one show (Insecure) and one movie on it the entire 7 days. I wish the price was less. I have more options on Showtime and Starz apps.

    HBO programming is great. HBO NOW programmers...not so much. Fast forward and rewind functions don't work correctly with Chromecast. Press 10 sec rewind, it fast forwards 3 minutes 2 seconds. Press 10 sec fast forward, it fast forwards 2 minutes 13 seconds. It has been this way for weeks. Emailed the developer to assist. Their reply was, " you have a different device you could use?" Do you have the right people to do the job and fix the app? Put them to work, or find competent people!

    Only gives error "can't play video: we're having trouble playing this video right now. Please try again later". Never works. Don't waste your time, and use a better, more reliable service. Tons of reports of this all over the web, apparently they've never fixed it. Terrible service. Use literally anything else. Steam their shows illegally, if you have to - because their proper app is trash that doesn't work

    So 15 dollars a month just to stare at 3 dots change color and never load a picture or anything. How is that worth 15 dollars. So there is no point paying for this anymore if I can't watch anything. I can pay way way way less and get way way way better stuff and stuff that loads. You guys don't think stuff through. Just like the HBO Max app, why would you make a whole new app and keep your 2 existing ones and not combine any of them. That makes sense right? I take it hamsters run everything.

    Functional app, but buggy with poor thought on UX. When casting the UI is poor on controls. The subtitles are the largest ever and there is no way to adjust them. When you exit the app after casting, the notification bar still contains the casting, and you have to force close the app to remove it. The button to go 10 secs backwards goes forward 20 secs. I could make a whole list of issues, but it's clear to me they are missing a proper UX/UI design team. Make your app simple and intuitive guys.

    Shows are great, but the app lacks basic functionality and has too many bugs. Doesn't have recently watched to continue off where you started, have to keep searching for the show I'm currently watching. Doesn't continue on to next episode. Please include option to skip intros. Half the time can't play video due to some random error. App needs improvement, is way behind competition.

    Started a free trial but now the app is in a loop of asking me to finish signing up and that I'm already subscribed. I've cleared cache, data, uninstalled, restarted my phone. Tried linking subscription to Google play. Google play shows a subscription. I have a confirmation email from Google play. HBO's app is the problem. update: works after I found direct payment option on website and just paid for the subscription.

    I'm new to this app, downloaded it, it worked for about 2 min, just enough for me to see what they have, and then it has had an error message ever since, for hours , and not even a way to notify HBO-- so much for the nation's premier pay on demand / cable add-,on station- I just left SLING thinking it was so bad because it was amateur, SURPRISE!!😂😝

I have done everything your customer service has asked me to do and it still doesnt work. I hate to cancel but it looks like thats my only option.

    This app sucks. I continuously get the "Can't play video" error about 5 seconds into watching a show. This has been going on for about two weeks. I cleared the cache and even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I'm still getting the error and am unable to watch my shows. Very frustrating.

    App needs a lot of work; Skip Intro while casting, recent viewing history, 'continue watching' from home screen, title link to episodes, episode link from casting screen, 15 & 30 second FF and RW options, cache search history, better alignment for text viewing within app(some info cut off). Confusing how basic functionality and ease of use so popular in other streaming apps seem overlooked here. Edit: Episode selection forward/backward..from anywhere. Lack of continuity after close/open app. Edit: 5.4.20-- Review is now 1 star. Still none of the above addressed, also the app flips upside down very often when re-entering it and gets stuck like this. FF/RW is supposed to be 10sec, however, it seems to fluctuate from 1sec in each direction to 20sec, with no apparent reason. App also frequently gets stuck and closing doesn't fix this. You have to force stop the app then reopen. Continuing to watch something often requires you to re-search the show, with no record of recent activity. Come on HBO....

    I love the shows that HBO has come out with. This one star is directly toward the HBO App. It is consistently problematic. The app won't load, error codes cannot play video, error code for trying to resume an episode, extremely slow and now a new problem, no sound. For as amazing the the Series are and how they are acclaimed you would think they could invest a little more time and money into the interface that actually allows you to watch them.

    3rd revision: HBO's content is far better than their interface to consume the content. Its capabilities to manage content is poor. Its playback features are buggy, and the features themselves are pretty poor, very limited. It lacks many features of Netflix and Prime have. HBO's service delivery is highly improved but no UHD content. They also release their content on the same schedule as TV-only viewers, which can be frustrating. Note: Sending feedback and reporting issues to HBO is messy

    I like this app overall, I don't know everyone's complaining. It has some bugs which need work. But it's reliable and casts to my Chromecast without issue. One HUGE feature I just looked for and found missing is that usually omnipresent "share" button; like, you know to share to a Instagram feed or send a show to a friend. Just something I'd like to see. Otherwise, good work, and thank you for keeping man entertained.

    Shows are great! The app needs some improvements: 1. Fast forward/seek doesn't work well. When trying to go forward 10 seconds multiple times, or trying to select a timestamp to view, the app just gives up and starts over from the beginning. SUPER ANNOYING as then you have to rewatch advertisements and intros again. The WORST! Fix the buttons! 2. Casting works great, but if you exit the app before stopping your cast then the cast bar gets stuck in your notifications and you can't get rid of it.

    This thing is a piece of junk, I like the content but the app on Android locks up or does other goofy things all the time. It is impossible to watch on an Android tablet. I've tried both Samsung and Lenovo Tablets basically the same result on both. I am in IT, it is not the hardware nor is it the connection. The connection is over a hundred megabits per second the hardware is pretty standard hardware and the OS is are fairly clean with barely anything installed. The product works fine on TV.

    The app lags a lot. I'll be watching a show and it stop a few times and then it'll stop all together and say something along the lines of "We're having trouble streaming right now come back later" and I'll click ok and the show stops. when I do come back it still does the same thing. It's done that since I've had the app which really sucks since I spend about $12 every month. None of my other streaming apps does that so I don't know what's going on.

    I love their content very much. I have this app both on my playstation 4 and my samsung Galaxy 9 note. Both of these devices work wonderfully even with other apps that I DONT pay 15$ a month for. However, with HBO Now (on both devices ) I have experienced it completely exiting out & showing error screens in the middle of a show, and continuing to do so 6,7,8 more times before I just give up on using the app. BOTH DEVICES ☹😣

    I cant believe HBO has the audacity to charge people for this. Their player acts like it's from 2004. If I'm paying for something, I expect it to play. They do not have a skip forward option so even though I pay for their service I'm still forced to watch their Ads. Their player fails to work on google chrome??? Ridiculous.

    The app on my Sony TV always stalls and freezes if I try to rewind. It will play normally for about 30 seconds and then the frame freezes and the 3 blue dots appear at the bottom of the screen for about a minute, and then it either starts playing again or stops completely and says the app needs to restart.

    The UI is very cumbersome. It takes 3 clicks just to get to a place where my keyboard pops up so I can enter a search query. And why cant it remember the episode/place I was at for each series? And why doesnt it list the most recently watched items first? If you want to compete with Netflix, you need a more snappy, intuitive interface.

    2 stars solely for the purpose of it eventually doing what I want...but very frustratingly so. This app is pretty terrible by all accounts. Very commonplace features are absent or extremely buggy. A few examples: - Chromecast controls from the notification bar are unreliable. Lag in pause/play. Time incorrectly displayed - Tapping on Chromecast control panel for HBO Now doesn't take me directly to the app. (super trivial feature) - I have about 10 more but not enough characters to type them :(

    Great content, but very buggy if using Chromecast. And it seems they never seem to fix it with any of the updates. It often will just give an error saying it cannot communicate with Chromecast,so you have to close and reopen the app. Volume randomly wont work. Volume fluxuates on its own. And most recently, the skip buttons dont work: should be 10secs back or forward..but when you hit the 10sec rewind it skips forward 30seconds? And the 10sec forward akips forward almost a full minute

    Love hbo, absolutely hate this app. Using an android tablet and the videos stop after 5 seconds saying "video cannot be played at this time, try again later" software is up to date and I've tried "clear your cache and restart your device" I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice and the issue persists.

    Let's just say... I hope that HBOmax will be a lot better. Other competitors like Hulu and Netflix have much better app design and seem to have more content. The way this app suggests and shows off the content it has is a little underwhelming. You need to search and find things yourself instead of seeing it while browsing usually. HBO itself is good though, and I'll stick with it for now. Hopefully it will get much better. Also, please make HBOMAX available on LG smart TVs, or on Xfinity.

    Keep getting "cannot play video" error. Tried everything. Just shocked how crapified this app and HBOs service is compared to others. Cannot be effectively used in the county. Contacted HBO and they are absolutely uninterested in getting their service to work at anything but optimal download speeds. Interesting that Netflix works well, though.

    Decent but it could remember what shows you are watching withiut you having to add them to some queue. We all know they're collecting our data, they might as well use it to our benefit in some way. Also, i want access to HBO Brasil with my subscription. If its all part of the same parent company, why keep the content separate?

    Very buggy app. The UI is clumsy. It constantly disconnects from the Chromecast device when I'm casting to the TV. Takes a few minutes to load a show. These issues persist despite having a good wifi router on a 5G connection and a fast internet connection. Once I'm done with my show I'll cancel my subscription unless they fix all the issues.

    Worst streaming app on mobile. Rewind and forward function does not work and some episodes also won't load for some reason, but works no problem on a regular browser... Release an app that works if you're going to charge people for the subsciption. You'd think HBO would have figured this out by now.

    Just a really horribly designed app, especially for use with Chromecast. It gets there job done but you can't even tap the player in the notification shade to go back into the app. No ability to skip intros and ads for other shows at the start of every episode. Menu navigation is clunky.

    I decided to give this app a try since having to stay home more, gave me more options of movies to watch. The first 3 days were great, but since then, it wont stream right. There is a message that pops up, saying it cant play at this time. Today was the end of my 7 day trial, and I cancelled. Hoping I'm not charged.

    Always getting service error messages and video cant play right now. Takes 2 hours to watch a one hour show. I tried doing all the troubleshooting and nothing helps. Cancelled my subscription after only my 7 day trial and 3 days into my first month. Not worth the money for all the aggravation.

    Realisticly, the app is good and has many great shows and movies. "continue watching" needs to be fixed because it doesnt display all of the shows im actually watching, but episodes i have already seen. It could be improved if it provided a feature where you can have different profiles, maybe up to three or five on one account. Also, the user interface is ugly/ inefficient and there is always a promotion before the movie starts which is annoying. There should also be a "skip re-cap" option.

    App is out of date and doesn't work well. Casting is difficult because the app makes you play a show, and change orientations, before you can start casting. There is no obvious way to save favorites. There is no autoplay next episode, and playing the next episode is not very easy. Progress on shows is not accurately saved. For $15/month you should really be able to deliver a better software package. Very disappointed. 😔

    This app sucks, keeps on crashing, showing double channels when connecting to Chromecast. The whole thing is confusing, you can't go back to the last show you watched, so had to search it again, also the search bar does not remember previous searches either. Either this app was poorly tested or the developers couldn't care less about improving it to be honest.

    Playback just keeps stopping and won't load. This app is so glitchy and freezes anytime I cast. I tried the advice HBO gave below this review and it's useless. HBO, look at your reviews. The problem is on your end. Fix your app. If Max is anything like this I'm canceling.

    The skip forward 10 functionality is broken when casting, the timeline includes the preroll but the show does not so skipping forward multiple times skips you forward more than 2, minutes ahead and skipping back skips forward because of this mismatch in streams. The developer support replied with a generic support article...

    Great content, but the app is very unreliable. One second I'm casting to my Chromecast, the next I can't control anything via the app. Very disappointing, as this has been a problem for a while, with different phones, different WiFi networks. Never have this issue with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, or Disney +.

    I have always been a fan of HBO since the early 90s. I haven't had cable in about 10 years. I tried this app out on Android and ps4, works great. The content available is not worth $14.99 a month. What's new isn't even good, the older selection lacks titles that grab your attention, UI seems dated when compared to Netflix's or Hulu, but I do like the simple layout.

    For all the great movies and TV shows on here, this app truly sucks. I usually don't write reviews but this is so frustrating that I have to. The app does not work well casting. You can't fast forward or rewind easily. The "reverse by 10" seconds button goes FORWARD by a few minutes. The app constantly crashes and the notification bar stays stuck on the screen after I've stopped watching. I have to force close the app for it to go away. They need to rework this app and fix these trivial issues.

    Worst interface of any streaming service in existence. Fast forward and rewind? Nope. Skip ahead and back are so broken they should just remove them. Sliding with your finger is a crapshoot. When binging it will occasionally just skip an entire episode. Response to Developer 1) software was just downloaded, brand new install on a brand new device. 2) connection speed is 97.3Mbps down and 34Mbps up... Or fast enough for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. to work. 3) done 4) done UI still sucks.

    Tge buffering, kicking me bk to the home pg, the fact that it takes damn near 90 mins to watch a 50-60 min show really needs to stop. My service is awesome considering im across the street from the tower. I pay extra to have unlimited data with no restrictions. Also.... Just so ya know.. My netflix that i pay extra on because more than 1 person watces on it ... Its cheaper than yall wth very few glitches. Thanks for ruinong my excitement that i had for being able to afford you

    Hitting fast forward 10 seconds quickly actually rewind it. App is buggy and requires constant restarts. No ability to change the aspect when watching on a phone so most of the screen real estate is taken up by black bars on all 4 sides. No effort to optimize it seems to have been taken. When I called the customer support line I got an automated message that hung up on me. You guys are willfully bad and I really dont see why you deserve my business.

    Where to begin? This app makes you watch every preview, without being able to skip ahead. While casting, the app will literally just close completely out, resetting to the beginning of the program for no reason. And now when you try to rewind, using the minus 10 seconds feature, the app instead advances minutes ahead. All for the price of $14.99 a month. Just sloppy and irresponsible.

    HBO NOW needs to add an option to download and watch content when offline. I work away a lot and don't have internet access to stream. It sucks i have to pay for something that I can't watch when I want. NETFLIX has it figured out, why can't HBO NOW!

    Bad cross device experience. Start an episode on my tablet, later use the my roku to try to resume the episode and I'm at the beginning. Knowing where a user is on a different device is standard for other major streaming platforms hopefully the upcoming HBO max will have what Netflix, hulu e.t.c have offered for years

    It used to work great. Over the last couple of weeks, however, the 10-second rewind moves it forward in the program when casting and then you have to drag the thing back to where you wanted to rewind to begin with. I emailed customer support and have tried everything they said to do. It did not work. If HBO can fix this malfunction, I will adjust my rating.

    It would be awesome for the content. If the app didnt always kick me out and say cant play video. I've got plenty of internet. Fix it or lose more customers. A message comes up that says cant play video. Then I gotta restart from where it left off. It would be ok if it didnt do it every 30 sends to a minute or less at times. Theres much more to say fix it or lose money. I told you here I'm not telling you anywhere else.

    Compared to the other, numerous, streaming apps, this one breaks the most for the remote control aspect (casting to a device) . Frequently, it loses connection to the TV, and after finishing a show, the app will stay in the notification bar without a way to close it, only rebooting your phone will fix it.

    The HBO app constantly kicks me out of the video saying they can't play the video, forces me to go back to then relaunch the video. I watched a movie where I had to do this about 50 times no joke, this is the most annoying Thing of this app. It would be one thing if it didn't happen on every show but it happens every single program I've ever watched and HBO since the moment I installed this app. I hope HBO has a fix for this because I can't believe I'm the only one that this is happening to

    I'm paying $25 a month so that ten minutes into a movie the app can stop working. Permanently. Turn the console off, uninstall the app, switch to a computer, it doesn't matter, the playback ends and won't go past the marker it first buffered at. And yes, it's across all my devices. I can watch Netflix, Hulu and Prime all in 4K but HBO, the most expensive one, crashes constantly. According to the help line, my internet download/upload and latency is more than DOUBLE what HBO requires to playback HD video. Their solution? To email me later when the "app developers" think of something. So answer me something. Why am I paying a monthly rate that is bonkers expensive compared to other streaming services for an app that quite actually has more buffering than a movie streaming site that will show me this title for FREE? The only thing this app has going for it is the original content which, while great, you can find anywhere else online with less buffering. And that doesn't cost you $25 a month.

    This app needs updating. First off, when I'm browsing and click on a movie, I would maybe like to see what the movie is about first instead of it immediately starting to play. I like adding things to my list to watch later and it would be nice to know what they are about. Maybe I'm missing something ? Netflix, Amazon Prime all have more convenient app features that HBO now doesnt have.

    Horrible app. Casting is very buggy. App buffers way too much. Rewing and forward by 10nseconds dont work consistently at all. Sometimes rewind and forward move 10 or 20 or 30 seconds or anything in between. Poor UI, non intuitive and looks amateurish compared to Netflix.

    A nice UI although I encountered several bugs using Chromecast including issues with the 10 second rewind and fast forward. Using those buttons in the player while casting jumped arbitrary amounts of time, minutes at a time. Would be nice to skip intros as well.

    App is a slow as molasses running uphill. Was enticed to download this app after multiple stories on my news feed. I have Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Disney+. I read the reviews and at 3.1 they are awful, but I decided what the heck since it was a free trial. I can truly say after never getting the show to load on my tablet I can confirm that this is the worst streaming app on the planet. Or probably 2nd worst since HBO'S other app has a 2.7 rating. Why contact you? Your app should be Load-N-Go.

    I had this app on my Galaxy Fold for months. Without any explanation, my device was removed from supported devices. After multiple canned responses from HBO, they finally explained it was because of the device's unique screen size. HBO did not publish or notify users of this change in any way. It's absolutely absurd to think you can just remove support from a 2019 flagship android phone instead of fixing whatever display issue they seem to think it has. Until HBO does the proper thing and adds support back for what is basically a brand new device, I'll have to consider this a one star app. Honestly it should be zero since I can't use it thanks to them. Edit: Their supported devices list says Galaxy Fold is compatible per Android Phone section. There is no exclusion for the Fold.

    Updated review. Last time I gave it two stars for not having very good video playback. Iv paid for this service for months not even using it after game of thrones ended. Now I use this app months later and STILL has video playback issues. Last time you told me to email someone at hbo to figure out the problem but thing is IM PAYING YOU not the other way around. I dont wanna pay for something that doesn't work I don't have issues with Youtube, Netflix , Disney Plus, or Hulu. CANCEL SUBSCRIPT

    I've tried several avenues to attempt to resubscribe to this and none seem to work. I've even emailed both Google and HBO for help. Google at least got back with me pretty much immediately, it's been 2 days with HBO and still nothing save for someone wanting screenshots of what was occurring. Those were sent within 5 minutes of them requesting them.

    Look at the number of 1 ratings, says it all. I would have chosen 0 if an option. I got charged on day 1 of a 7 day free trial and now I have to jump through hoops to get my money back through the developer!! This should be easier and you should not charge people during a free trial.

    HBO is great, but this app leave much to be desired. The really need to shrink down the movie cover art so I can see more than two options at a time on my phone. Also, some movies and shows immediately play when you press them so I'm unable to put said shows in my profile list to watch later on.

    The 10 second back button actually skips ahead... EDIT: Did some more digging! When just playing on my phone, it works correctly. But I don't watch it on my phone. I cast it to my Chromecast, which is when it acts buggy in general. The rewind button then fast forwards 59 seconds. Of course, almost all my streaming apps act buggy when cast to Chromecast - I just want the skip back button to work.

    Great content in the HBO catalog, getting even better with MAX. But I wish there was a landscape UI for the menus. it's annoying to have to pick up my tablet to change the content I'm viewing. Hopefully the MAX app will have that.

    Overall: great content but frustrating connection issues....The app is slow and unreliable. I have alot of connection problems when the app boots up...I get the 3 dots... of it loading... i also experience frequent disconnections when streaming to my google cast device.

    This app SUCKS! Slow, buggy. Doesn't buffer when you pause. So convoluted to continue watching a series, I have to search every time. Cant skip intros and the commercials for content I pay for are unacceptable. Plus kills battery life. Lazy programmers should focus on usability and not their idea of aesthetics

    This is for content only, it would be higher for that but good ol' HBO seems to be falling behind the the competition imo. As far as functionality... Worse than a mobile apk. On a laptop. Waaay too many bugs. Constant boot out and error messages. I use 6 other streaming services/apps. and sadly this one gets used less and less. Much better than STARZ, nowhere near as good and reliable as AMAZON PRIME.

    Worst streaming app I've ever used. Started the subscription to watch game of thrones. On my Amazon fire stick it constantly goes into loading while watching episodes, sometimes it wont come back till it goes into an error mode and re-starts itself. On my galaxy s10e it hardly ever opens the app. Will be cancelling my subscription to this trash of an app as soon as I finish game of thrones.

    Their goal is to steal your money! It is literally IMPOSSIBLE to cancel my HBO now Subscription. If you try to sign in on the web page it sends you to the free trial sign up. I cannot sign in on any device without being redirected.

    Was excited to watch the free content as someone who could never afford HBO and missed out on what everyone else watched but nothing will play. I press a show or movie and nothing happens. When I try again the app crashes. Happens with HBO GO also. I restarted phone and everything, didn't help. I guess just a publicity stunt and can't actually watch.

    My least favorite of the streaming apps. It's buggy (why does clicking back 10 seconds instead skip ahead 2 minutes?!) And the interface is inferior, taking extra taps to get to things that are on the front page of Netflix or Hulu. I might try subscribing through Amazon to see if that's a better experience.

    Needs a selectable video resolution switch. Not everyone has blazing fast Internet. Kudos for offering some free programming for everybody stuck at home. UPDATE, yesterday it automatically selected and smoothly played at a lower resolution, approx 360p, wo hiccups, same thing today. Since it's now auto selecting an appropriate bitrate for the bandwidth i get, and the free shows, I'm updating from one to five stars

    The ten second forward and back both skip forward a couple minutes. Cannot rewind. Just skios around. It also skips the first minute of season 3 episode 2 every time. Have tried to watch it from the beginning 5 times and skips the first minute after the opening graphics. Very frustrating.

    Thought id try hbo out and watch some of the free stuff thet offer during this time of isolation. Unfortunetly nothing will play for me. The commercial plays just fine but as soon as the show starts an error comes up unable to play. Have seeen the aame commercial 15 times without getring anything to play. Worst app ever.

    This app needs high speed internet to work, at least 5mbps. So if your internet is slow the app won't work. Not so much HBOs fault. Fyi. I gave 3 stars because I like their shows but I mean dang I wish the app worked with my crappy internet.

    A buffering mess. Netflix, Hulu, prime video... no buffering. HBO buffering. Crappy navigation setup as well. I will be letting my HBO expire soon since I won't be able to watch it in my apple tv after mid may for some reason.
