X-plore allows you to see inside of your Android device. And also outside.

This is a dual-pane explorer, there are two folders shown at same time, and common operation such as copying files are done from one pane to another.
And X-plore shows folder hierarchy in a tree view for clear orientation and fast switching to other location.

You may explore internals of the device, and if you're power user and have your device rooted, you can make changes to system data - backup files, remove unwanted applications, etc.

If you're standard user, you may choose to hide internal memory from view and be sure not to mess with system.
You can comfortably see contents of mass memories on your device, or possibly attached USB memory stick.

Simple app manager allows to see, run, copy, share, uninstall and further explore installed applications.

WiFi file sharing
Access files on your Android device from other Android devices over WiFi.

Access from a PC web browser
Manage files on your Android device from your PC.

Access to FTP and FTPS (secure FTP) servers is supported.
Multiple servers may be configured.

X-plore can display shared folders on other computers in LAN.

X-plore can access various web storage "Cloud" servers, and access their files.
You need to have account in supported web service, then you can access your files stored online through X-plore.

Supported is also SSH File Transfer (SFTP) and Terminal shell emulator.

X-plore contains music player that can play music tracks from any available location.

With Vault function, you can encrypt sensitive files, even by your fingerprint.

Main operations are related to managing files and folders - viewing, copying, moving, deleting, compressing to Zip, extracting, renaming, sharing, and more.

SQLite database viewer
X-plore can show SQLite database files (those with .db extension) as expandable list of tables, each table containing list of rows and columns with database entries.

Main interaction is done by touch screen, clicking on folders or files to open files, or long-click to open context menu which contains options which can be done on particular clicked item, or multiple selected items.
Multi-selection allows to do operation on more files at once.

Opening file may mean to use one of built-in viewer for most popular file types: images, audio, video and text.
Or you may configure X-plore to use system application for opening files, in which case system-predefined application that can open particular file is launched.

Archives (currently supported are Zip, Rar and 7zip) are displayed as other folders.

Wonderful app but tread lightly. I was trying to delete some junk off a share I have set up but ended up deleting a bunch of photos I was saving for a friend. Long-pressing an object and then deleting doesn't necessarily delete the item you long-pressed upon as "selected item" doesn't change...hence the check mark as to which I should have been paying attention.

It is far better than the default File explorer app you are usually given on your Android device. The only thing I would complain about is the fact that there is no password locking. What I am talking about here is when you open the app, you can set up a fingerprint but not a password.

  3. guest-avatar

I found an annoying bug when I open some archives. Just as the archive opens the page start scrolling to the bottom of the panel/list. I occasionally noticed this problem in previous versions too, but it happens too frequently in this latest update. 😟 Edit: bug still not fixed after latest update 👎👎👎

  4. guest-avatar

This app gets by far further than any other app that just tells us "File not compatible to open with, This app??" But with this app you can but it's a very tricky puzzle and I just not sure what I am doing or looking at. I need lots more education for sure ☺️😂!!

  5. guest-avatar

No other file manager is good as it is.. I am using this app from the age of symbian s60. And I can't imagine my phone without this app.. love for the developer, this app of yours makes my phone complete..

  6. guest-avatar

I'm going to sound like in gushing but i love this file manager. everything that is wrong with every other one has found a solution here. already selected 15 files but need to view one by without losing your selections, no problem. don't remember which side of the dual panes you're on? never here. the more time i spend with it the more i can't imagine my mobile without it. Edit: it's time for a GUI update. I'd love to try my hand at it. It's looking a bit dated, kinda like Win 95.

  7. guest-avatar

One of the most comprehensive file exploration apps I found for free. At first it seemed somewhat complicated to use but once I got the hang of it I couldn't believe how well it worked ..I've compared this app to at least 3 or 4 very known file explorer apps (I'll not name) and this app picks up files/folders that the others either 1) didn't pick up at all or 2) $ was required 1st. For in depth analysis of some $is required but so far I haven't had to pay anything

  8. guest-avatar

Excellent, well built file manager. Unfortunately doesn't seem to have a 'select all' tool so I can delete all the files in a folder--which is what I needed. Edit: Well, golly, it does have "multi select". (Tap the first check symbol twice--the one that selects a folder. A little obscure, but you can't have an icon for everything!)

Excellent, free, no adds, works flawlessly, smb, cloud, all package. I had to make a donation. Good work Michal!

  10. guest-avatar

I don't know what you are, but your app is genius! Men, there are two active areas in Norton manner, but one part hides aside until you tap on it. Very convenient and smart. A folder tree shows the entire file system instead of cut featured views. I'd call this FM a device organizer. Definitely, this is a must-have app.

  11. guest-avatar

Dear developer I am using this app from 2009 on Symbian OS. Now using on Android 10 devices. But now missing a awesome feature of xlplore is swipe down or up to mark /unmarked. It's a helpful feature to mark multiple choices file very quickly( not all mark). Please add this feature on android. Please, please and please...........

  12. guest-avatar

    Shane Pettingill

Absolutely brilliant! Does exactly what I want it to do, GUI is nice and easy on the eyes, well laid out. Easy to setup servers etc, switching panes is simple. No fuss, no subscriptions, it just does it! I'm happy so bought the guys a couple of beers. CHEERS!

  13. guest-avatar

GREAT APP #1 Very interesting and very fun to use, after a little learning curve (because there's just so much you can do). But once you figure it out its great. I've used allot of file explorers and managers... ES, google, superuser, ect. And i favor this one by far! Love the batch rename for just changing extensions! GREAT APP #1

  14. guest-avatar

Just amazing, have tried tons of file explorer apps and although this one isn't flashy, it makes up for it by ease of use, simplicity, and awesome tools. If your sick of trying file apps that don't have exactly what you want get this, now! Trust me, your search will end here.

  15. guest-avatar

When an item is moved on the same drive , instead of simply changing directory/ path on drive it copies whole item . . It's a common feature .. how did it miss here¿

  16. guest-avatar

Best file explorer if you plan to use it in your smart android tv. Very unique way to explore make it very easy to control it with your remote control. Also you can add your cloud storage and stream your media from Google drive of any other cloud service.

  17. guest-avatar

App is amazing. Everything i was looking for in a file manager. Even donated to developers.

  18. guest-avatar

I love this apps very much but improve the video player with individual settings & interface like mx player.

  19. guest-avatar

I definitely recommend the app. Hard to use at first but allows you to move files in SD card. The UI seems more like of a PC than an android UI. Definitely worth it. Great job!

  20. guest-avatar

This app is super helpful. It is a must have for me and even if you have a device that is not rooted, I still believe that you should give it a try. The UI may not be exactly user friendly but it is very easy to get used to.

  21. guest-avatar

This is a really good app. The issue I have is the denying of service, the demanding a deposit of no less than 3 beers. I would gladly pay an app that's this good, but I cannot pay after being held hostage. I do not negotiate with hostage takers.

  22. guest-avatar

I gave only three stars, 'cause when I open it, it is like an app killer, it'll close all my other apps opened, they'll be not working at the backround anymore, I don't know if it is occurred only with my phone which is an Android 8.1, correct this.

  23. guest-avatar

One of the best file explorers out there. Very useful and productive, this app is easy to navigate and has a user friendly UI. I love it ! Keep up the good work Dev's!! ❤️👍

  24. guest-avatar

Great app, does it all, move, copy, share, samba connection to windows boxes, WiFi network hookup, file sharing, on and on.... Try it if you want a serious file manager.

  25. guest-avatar

Awesome file manager. This app has all the features needed by power users, yet the interface is simple and easy to learn and understand. WELL DONE!

  26. guest-avatar

Awesome app so far. Access to cloud storage, seamless streaming, file sharing via multiple options. Will be using for a while. 👌

  27. guest-avatar

This app works just great. I want easy access to files on the networked pcs, and x-plore delivers just that. Well worth a donation.

  28. guest-avatar

Very nice app, really. But what is a point of a file manager, if it does not allow to make file associations possible. (. djvu for example) problem opening files with Readera as well.

Use this app over 10 years, when I have Nokia N70, then i take Galaxy s2, and download app for android. Quality and usability are grate, for used x-prore now for galaxy s9+! Good application!

  30. guest-avatar

I'm very lucky that I discover this app. It helps me a lot! Ex. Transfering photos effortless , Subtitles in Movies , Sorting Easily etc.. Thank you!

  31. guest-avatar

Sometimes (after a fail) copy, delete or move notifications stay forever until you reboot the phone or do a Force Stop.

  32. guest-avatar

Any reason why Dropbox support is disabled at the cloud storage options? It doesn't loads up a login screen like the other cloud services.

  33. guest-avatar

This app may can open files, but it requires lot of memory to read a file and it cannot decode some files. I cannot read question marks.

  34. guest-avatar

Great app, but it is hard to copy and paste with the current layout, please consider grid layout

  35. guest-avatar

This app is great for so many reasons. Best file manager app I've used, even though it doesn't come up first in results.

Folder Hide Option not working in Android 10. Even after hiding the whole folder....it shows the content everywhere. Please fix this.

Very good app design. Had been available for virtually every platform (including Symbian/Java). Evolved too fast and competitive with any available file explorers.

  38. guest-avatar

Works great! A little difficult at first moving files, butgot the hang of it. Thanks

  39. guest-avatar

Really really I hate to rate or writing a review for any app. But I am using this app for 4 years. It is a very useful app. There is no app like this app. Alot of thanks for the developer, your app help me alot. Thaaaaaaanks.

  40. guest-avatar

Excellent. One file manager that has a lot of functions, rather than having multiple function specific file managers

  41. guest-avatar

    Shíbíl Sídhík

I'm a user of X-plore since the Nokia Symbian/Java days. I really want to give this app 5 stars. What's restricting me is the lack of GRID VIEW and BLACK (not just dark) theme.

  42. guest-avatar

I was hacked couldnt find a app for along time to find my hidden files or even open them im not tech smart but thos app is great i had to play around with it at times buy i figures it out and what i couldnt they had little notes and that lead you to sites thank you great app!

Copying multiple files through LAN no longer work but it used to. For some reason the progress stuck after 1 file copied

  44. guest-avatar

Easy and simple for transefer file between two different device, unlike idiotic gimmicky app(share it)

  45. guest-avatar

So much more than a storage app. Use it for all sorts of geekery.

  46. guest-avatar

I've been using this file manager since i had a Sony Ericsson K750, it's been the best file manager I've ever used.

  47. guest-avatar

The Disk mapper function is worth installing the app. It allow me to see were all the big files are located.

  48. guest-avatar

Subtitle font in video player is too big. Need an option to resize it

  49. guest-avatar

Superb app, especially for a tablet or android TV. Goodbye es file explorer and mixplorer.

Looks nice. Needs a little getting used to but works very well.

  51. guest-avatar

File xplorer all in one.. i only have one word to describe this apps.. SUPERB! only backward is copy paste function. It's confused for new user.. but after a while .. you'll get used to it

  52. guest-avatar

Awesome app I'm not really computer literate so this app is great it breaks it down so that I understand it

  53. guest-avatar

    Roby Asdasdasdadad

Very good and complete. Also works on Android 8 and 9.

  54. guest-avatar

Easy to use, especially in duel pane landscape mode

  55. guest-avatar

Previous version is better as other Players unable to open next video

  56. guest-avatar

  60. guest-avatar

Very powerful file manager with advanced functionalities.

  61. guest-avatar

My file manager since i use symbian..easy to use with 2 panel Easy use to view subfolder

  62. guest-avatar

This app is by far the most useful app I have on my Samsung S7 (3+ years old). No more cable connecting to transfer files/pictures/videos to and from my computer. You will need to be a bit familiar about where your files are located on your phone and how to set up shared folders on your computer. In my case it was Windows 10 pro. Setting up shares on Windows 10 can be tricky. The app remembers the last directory locations of your last transfer which is really handy once you have established their locations on both phone and computer. I just open the app and checkmark the files to transfer, (usually in the same directory as last time). Since the app has 2 screens, you just swipe to the other screen to check or set location on the computer, select COPY and just wait a short bit. Large video files will take some time. Speed may vary depending on your Wifi and your phone. I looked and looked at other apps until I found this one and I haven't looked back since. I have had only a few minor issues which were attributed to WiFi signal strength.

  63. guest-avatar

I've been using this app for a while and love the feature-set of it as a file manager. It's got pretty much everything you need in a file manager on Android. Developer recommendation: X-plore does not seem to be compatible with FTPS servers configured with 'TLS session resumption' turned on and required during encrypted file transfers. Is there any reason for this or are you planning on adding support in the future?

  64. guest-avatar

    Android User C41F877B

Just brilliant! Ditched ES because it's bloated and it was connecting a China IP. Very slick, I mainly use it for transferring files to my PC via SMB. One feature that would be the icing on the cake; In "copy to clipboard' mode (ie copy file to remote share) allow these to be queued. Currently, when a copy is in progress this option is greyed out. X-Plore is so good I use it to move files about on my computer, when I am not at the computer. With this idea one could copy many Gb remotely.

  65. guest-avatar

I love the ability to use a root folder even when your phone is not rooted

  66. guest-avatar

The best app out there..👍👍 Do you have in plan to update the interface to something like a material design and folders with customizable views?..😌 God job developers, keep up the good work..👍👍

  67. guest-avatar

Light weight , easy to use for mulitiple purpose

  68. guest-avatar

so sick weaird interface at first but sick permissions and root exploring plus ont the go OTG usb

  69. guest-avatar

Best file manager on Android so far. But I think it should automat-ly retry to send files to Yandex Cloud when sending process catches an error (every time there are few of them). When app is sending many files it's highly possible that error will occur, so without automatic retry it's necessary for me to monitor upload process to get it done. And so sending takes about a hour due to these interruptions. Changed score to negative, cause developer seems is gonna do nothing with described problem.

  70. guest-avatar

Samsung s9+, Android 10: I opened a text file with the built-in text editor, then I turned the phone and all the text I was working on for so long vanished! Scroll, nothing! Turn the phone again, nothing, just an empty file. I thought I'd better save my work and as the result I ve got an empty 0 bit text file!!! All my work gone!

  71. guest-avatar

Love the application. Imo probably the best but there is one problem that I have. Mega cloud does not work and breaks my connection to mega. I reboot phone and use the mega app over and over no problem. I use this app to connect to mega and it breaks both apps till my phone is restarted. Basically cannot use mega with this app.

  72. guest-avatar

worst app. i configured a network hard drive. no way to save the password. very very confusing navigation. no way to select partial files from network folder to lical folder. i had 1000 files on network server. i had to copy 900 files one by one to local storage. it took 4 hours. no multi select feature. i can't understand the purpose of mark all feature either. useless app

Goodbye ES Explorer. X-plore Takes The Cake! Unbelievable -- arguably one of the absolute best apps out there. Take your time, get to know and feel how it works, you won't be disappointed. X-plore is to Android what XYPlorer is to Windows; it's simply the best there is. This app has radically changed the way I use my Android. I love the ability to put direct shortcuts to directories right on the Android Desktop. Thanks for this amazing work. I love being able to have a text editor and an image viewer right in the app -- phenomenal when trying to apply an image in Nova Launcher (to the desktop or the dock) and being able to preview the image full screen before applying it. The only request I have, and it's minor -- is the ability to crop images within the built-in photo viewer. THANK YOU!

  74. guest-avatar

A very good app. In fact, the best of all file management app on android. And i tried them all. Two problem on Android 10: X-plore doesn't load video when players chosen are others such as mxplayer. 2nd issue: the xplore image viewer is broken. Can't forward or backward swipe thru pictures. Please fix. Otherwise, 5 stars

  75. guest-avatar

Does not work with smb2. Awesome app, but lets get real, smb1 is a security risk, should not be even supported, if i turn off smb1 on my qnap this app can no longer connect and i get a java.io.IOExceptiom error. At the least smb2.1 should be supported here ...

  76. guest-avatar

Went to Whatsapp the app has no show hidden folder option to check Status Photos and video posted. Uninstalled it.

this is the best file manager I have ever seen. It is better than all Linux file managers I have tried. In Windows file managers are hopeless.Everything works well, even on NAS.Everything were well thought in this app and very flexible.Copy speeds over network to NAS are faster than with any other app. I used ES-file explorer until it was removed from Playstore, then I tried other apps which over network and NAS sometimes did not show correct info of directory size or search was not working well

  80. guest-avatar

This is must for android boxed and fire sticks. The only think i would like to see made is Sprite app for UPnP/DLNA/SMB and asks you what third party player you want to play it with like MediaHouse UPnP / DLNA Browser as MediaHouse UPnP / DLNA Browser is dead app that has not been updated. We need app like MediaHouse UPnP / DLNA Browser but that gets updates and mebe you could fill this gap?

  81. guest-avatar

Using this app from Jan 2020... At begining its worked fine.I also downlod this app on android TV. In both (mobile and TV) its worked fine till 6th Feb 2020. But cuttently its giving some error DLNA not functioning properly. It can't find proper path of file shareing of router. Requesting to developer to look on this.

  82. guest-avatar

Thank you for finding pictures hidden by malware?(i dont really know how they got hidden. Everything bad that could happen to my data has happened. Ive bought new several phones, switched providers, bought security programs and no help. If you have a manual Id love to download a copy. I had my own law firm for 18 years. Im now broke with a house in foreclosure because no one can fix the issues. I hope to find more. I want to understand the acronyms and use more of program. Thank you!

  83. guest-avatar

it is OK. I do not like much the visual GUI to view files and folders. Could not figure out such a basic function as moving one file. For me that function was grayed out. Other apps could do that with ease.

  84. guest-avatar

please support launching youtube video shortcuts in a folder in my LAN when i tap them. thank you

  85. guest-avatar

This is the best file manager for android whether rooted or not. Easy to use and very feature rich, and most importantly its very lightweight. I highly recommend it. Also I don't mind the donations for such a well made free to use application.

  86. guest-avatar

Since nokia n80 era, i have been keeping the xplore in my phone. Love the app.. it would be a wonderful feature to add if image viewer in file manager has the capacity of pinch to zoom to the last pixel of the picture just like in the Window picasa application.. 🙂🙂👍

  87. guest-avatar

Truly awesome job, well done . This is an amazing app that gives all kinds of options not obtainable with factory settings or apps and best yet is the level of care the developer takes to describe things and keep you up to date with changes.

Great to look through your apps and external SD card. If you want to be able to write and edit the root programs you must ROOT your device but if your device is not rooted you can still view the programs.

  92. guest-avatar

Been using this so much since I installed it, played around for a few days then donated to the dev, well worth the money. Love everything about this app and so many useful features. Install it try it then buy it. One of the best.

  93. guest-avatar

The UI is cluttered, but this app is reliable and effective at showing me the files that most other apps either hide or can't view. It's easy to find and delete files, which for some reason, is rare in free file explorer apps.

I have a problem. I always compile my important files to zip with a password. 2 weeks ago I added some files to my zip and it compiled itself. Now that I needed those files, I can't open the zip anymore even after using the same password again and again. How can I get back those files? I've lost my flash drive and that's the only backup I have and I can't access it.

See the more complex a software is, the more diverse it is. And this app is a great example to it. It is also compatible with exfat/ntfs for usb which is a must for those device which supports only fat32. Its power users

Great app until it went crazy on my sd card. First and foremost: Somehow this app persists settings even when all data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. This is very annoying behaviour, please Dev fix this asap. I used the app without issues for 2 months or so. Now, for some reason it started to dislike my sd card. It refuses to write to it, giving unspecific error response (once api24). It even didn't detect it completely at some point. Noting that other apps have no issue with the sd.

Only 1 issue so far, and that is: the app is recognizing that there are files in a specific folder but is not showing the .zip format files. I downloaded this app because my tab doesnt have a native file management... Kind of frustrating

Solidly, reliable app all around. Lots of options to choose from, the greater majority of which are free. Zero problems with ads & best app I've found for file sharing with PCs through Wifi. Just awesome!!!

Thank you developer, I owe a lot to this app for my smooth day to day Android usage. This app is indespensible to me and I can't do without it. This is one of the best apps on Android. Period. It should have a 5 star rating. And those very few people out of the huge satisfied lot who have some king of problems with the app actually have some problems in understanding the functionality, because the app is feature rich and is outstanding. Thank you very much.
