Can't show external USB sources. Android TVs own explorer auto-opens and shows the storage fine, but this app can't see anything unless it's cloud. Useless for USB-connected storage.

  2. Dr Mariusz Skorupski-avatar

    Dr Mariusz Skorupski

apk This is the only file manager (that I know) that allows access to internal Android/data folder under Android 11 OS. Absolutely essential, if you develop apps targetting Android 11 that use SQLite databases.

  3. Dean Connor-avatar

    Dean Connor

windows *edit* the music player no longer play's music files inside archives. Rar/zip etc. Other players work fine 🙄 only the player with the nag screen works now with archives, very suspicious 😉 hmm maybe deliberately disabled to force more people to donate? Even uninstalling and using older versions doesn't cure the problem. maybe some hidden file dumped in the system to permanently disable 🤔 I've used this app since symbian times, now the app is becoming useless to me ☹️ so v4.25.10 works fine! 😉

anleitung The best file manager when using Android 11, I was able to access data file and obb files, great work!👍

  5. Edward-avatar

pro apk Edit: Got used to the UI, but minus two stars because of not being able to rename folders with files in them on internal storage. Moving from internal to external storage, renaming, and then moving back works. If there is a way to report this bug, I will. Review: Great file manager! Thank you for keeping this up to date! This app is able to access the Android folder on Android 11. Has an interesting UI that I have to get used to compared to my previous file manager, but works great so far.

  6. martixy-avatar

fire tv Good but not great. Has good CMB support. Good file handling. Dark theme. Things missing: location bookmarks, per-folder sorting. UI is just weird, takes getting used to. [After an update recently, the app started crashing so I had to reinstall, which meant all my settings were erased. Now it's also draining my battery. So... completely uninstalling now.]

windows 10 Until the last few updates X-plore was one of the best file managers but FX is a close second. But it's now very tempermental with frequent crashes. These crashes are caused by PDF thumbnails - some PDFs are OK and others not. A quick fix would be to give a user option to switch thumbnails off. Personally I don't like the thumbnail view - it must cause a significant CPU load and for little gain. I noticed someone else reported the same problem. He reverted back to an old version.

mod apk Awesome! Enjoy the coffee and cake (it's a lie but you get the idea, there wasn't a dono option for a friendship cube). Please add a button for sort order (reversal) + long press sort options (dialog). Also, please please please add file association memory overrides. System doesn't recognize Acode as compatible with .json (for editing) and wants to run them in termux. Less taps == less brain pain. Thanks for the great work!

tutorial Among the best in functionality. But needs improvement in GUI.

  10. Zeppo 516-avatar

    Zeppo 516

ios Very good file browser: features without killing user experience with bloat, ads or bugging with "my other apps"; only had some quirks on external sd card files deletion but not sure about the reason (might be a trouble arising because of me, but did't troubleshoot further) (experienced on a stock Galaxy Note 4, android 6) . No troubles whatsoever on a Galaxy Note 10 Lite, android 10, similar conditions. Touch friendly while stil powerful! Thanks indeed!

  11. Corey Gilley-avatar

    Corey Gilley

Good file manager with a useful split window design. The only issue I have is when decompressing large 7zip archives that contain several files it gets very slow. An individual file may be only 50 mb for example and it copies fast but there is a pause of several minutes sometimes before the next file starts copying. Edit: I just tried ZArchiver and it unzips the same archives in a tiny fraction of the time X-plore would have taken. Definitely something wrong with X-plore's unzipping.

  12. Michael Palmer-avatar

    Michael Palmer

best file manager ever!!! I've been using it for years and no other file manager can come close to touching the simplicity, convenience and piece of mind you will get from knowing its all you'll ever need..

  13. Hani Badran-avatar

    Hani Badran

Great app, but after I paid the required amount to open some of the features of the application, It requests payment again (Problem resolved, but it comes back occasionally). Another nasty thing, this app calls the price it charges for unlocking the features "donate".

  14. Flerger Bergitydersh-avatar

    Flerger Bergitydersh

One of the first things I install on a new device. Extremely versatile, and works well; probably my favorite way of handling FTP and remote file management on Android. The only in app purchase is a donation link; just download it already.

  15. Dark Naio-avatar

    Dark Naio

EASILY the best file manager on Android. Doesn't matter what kind of user you are from basic needs to root features, encrypted file storage, wifi file sharing, more stuff than I can remember off the top of my head, this app has it and has for years. Favorite feature has always been the double-pane interface, it makes file transfers and keeping track of multiple things at once a breeze and makes moving through your file system faster than any other file browser I've used. And I've used a bunch.

  16. Bruce Wyche-avatar

Lost 1 star: Not perfect Lost files Recovering SD card. + Search should show folder where found. + Showing 2 identical MS Onedrives . Lost ANOTHER star: Shared text file with Droid edit Pro and lost hours of editing as not saved...Been using xplore longer than any other app. Lost another star: Paid for app. Reloaded app after I reset the tablet, but am NOT getting the paid-for pro features. It has turned into P.O.S. I am outta here.

  17. Adam-avatar

Never fails to impress, and do even more as time goes on! I forgot about it for years, as stock managers where fine for my needs. Then I stumbled upon it again, in search of a more robust file manager. That amazing potential snowballed to where it is now! That momentum the dev team worked so hard on, only keeps growing stronger. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a more fully featured file manager for there device(s). Only drawback is the UI,however, with time it's perfect!

  18. David Taylor-avatar

I use this daily. I move files between my phone and file servers. The options available for selecting files are good. The operations for managing files are good. The interface is simple and easy to use.

  19. Jeremiah Berndt-avatar

    Jeremiah Berndt

This was my favorite file manager for both Android TV and Android on my phone. Share is not working at all on this. Tried to email me an apk and also tried to upload it to my Google Drive and it did absolutely nothing. It shows that it tried to for a split second and then goes away. I then downloaded another file manager and it worked flawlessly.

  20. Mandula Abogada-avatar

    Mandula Abogada

After using the video player in this file manager it informed me that this was a purchase item. No problem I paid the $3+, plus sales tax. But after several years of using this app, I still found a few medial infractions that the developer should have noticed but hadn't fixed yet. But overall it's Ok and it played a very good video on my phone. Oh and developer should take a look at the Tell us more (optional) in Google Play store so he can see what's missing for the reviews.

  21. Christopher Benson-avatar

    Christopher Benson

This is the best file manager app that I've used. Once used to the functionality it is very powerful. The twin panes are particularly useful for moving files on a network. ES File Explorer had multiple screens but this is now unusable. I've mapped my network and cloud storage devices without problems. The media players work well with the DLNA server on my NAS. Batch file renaming is also very good. Some may find it too complicated and they might prefer Cx File Explorer which is easier to use.

  22. ptty1956-avatar

This file manager is fantastic! I have no troubles with video, lan, sharing, great functionality easy to use. Just one minor thing I can't figure out how to switch between single pane and dual pane.

  23. Mikhail Tal-avatar

    Mikhail Tal

X-plore has so many useful features that I will mention only one. It can create wireless servers that allow fast connections between phones for the rapid transfer of files a la FTP. Transparent process is easy to use. Excellent!

  24. Jonathan Gowdy-avatar

    Jonathan Gowdy

I went over to this app several years ago as a fallback recommendation when other apps before haven't been bloated with ads and unnecessary features. The usual layout in this app as seen on many apps before shows it's usability and having ready to access file and navigation operations upfront make this app a great step up from the basics on Android.

  25. Daze Daemar-avatar

    Daze Daemar

I am lost without xplore. It is my first choice for file management and one of my top three apps. It's the first thing I load when I get a new phone. Support the developer. They did a great job with this one.

  27. David Vere-avatar

    David Vere

If there is a better file manager available for Android I've not found it. Manage your files on your device, on other devices (windows or linux) on your network, on devices not on your network (by SSH), on Dropbox, owncloud, googledrive, WebDAV. Also allows WiFi sharing and features a secure "vault" where you can store sensitive files. Highly recommended.

  28. Karen Stral-avatar

LATEST VERSIONS FIXED ALL PROBLEMS!!!! Thank you. New version messed up configuration, went from one pane to two simultaneous panes on a narrow screen. Could not find a way to go back to single pane view. Well, they fixed that problem. New problem, I can copy pdf files across the net and open them locally, but I can no longer open pdf files from a net server.

This is by far the best file management system I've had on my phone. I can actually navigate every place I want to navigate to and get there easily. It's one that actually does read all your files. I'll keep this one forever.

  30. a7i3n-avatar

Wow. This is really great. Takes the place of several apps. Makes entire remote file systems accessible from my tablet. Ssh ftp etc... watch movies stored on a remote server on your tablet. Makes one giddy... the possibilities. The terminal is the weaker of all the blades this Swiss army knife possesses ... but everything else is wonderful. Even looks cool. Thanks to the programmer. May you be showered with money.

  31. Götz Veser-avatar

    Götz Veser

The best file manager, hands down. However, as others reported, there is an issue with massive battery drain after updating to OneUI 3.0 on Samsung. Currently unusable until this is fixed. Devs - please update! Correction: Turns out that the problem had nothing to do with X-plore. Samsung battery tracker falsely identified the app as the culprit. Apologies to the devs, and back to 5 stars!

  32. Gyromatical-avatar

It's basically the best file manager ever made for any platform ever, if I may be so bold. I use it for normal purposes + SSH as an extra drive to share files on LAN with Linux file server. It has massive amounts of other features too exhaustive to list. You won't find anything better so just get it already.

  33. Cp Youfy-avatar

    Cp Youfy

It was a bit confusing to use at first. But very useful, I was looking for a file manager to navigate efficiently and move videos with long names. This shows the full name of the file and the dual windows help in moving files in bulk. I don't need many functionalities, but the file manager appears to have many, too.

  34. J F-avatar

    J F

Fast and reliable free file manager. I use it from anything to playing movies off a USB drive to browsing network shares. They should change the default theme to the dark one in settings though because the light blue one is pretty ugly.

  35. Pamela Curry-avatar

    Pamela Curry

Wow I've used FX for years because it allows connecting to shared storage on other home networked devices. Tried to copy a video to storage on my Chromecast w/Google TV and it couldn't but X-plore did, my new favorite Android for manager.

3/14/21 update. The ssh connection keeps disconnecting, very annoying, it should be able to auto-connect. OriginalFinally something I have been looking for. 3 beers is so worth it. A few things: Can you add more player control? The internal player control is very basic, would be great if you add scrolling (using left or right swipe), speed control (for both video and music/audio), memorizing last play speed, etc. Still learning the whole app, will comment more. Keep up with the great work Thanks

  39. Vukasin-avatar

Allows web sharing of clouds to a level where people who shares files with you, their stuff can be seen in the Web Services directory. Not many apps have that feature. This one for sure does. Has option to open with VLC so you can download subs directly from TV and begin watching.

Alcatel 1s with Android 10. Can't rename or move files to SD card, only to see them or to copy files from SD. I tried other file manager apps with same result. Only apps which came with phone can operate all storage (including camera). X-plore gives me this error when trying to copy to SD: open failed: EACCES (Permission denied). When I installed X-plore system asked me to give it permission for media files and I did. I like X-plore and would appreciate any suggestion to resolve this. Edit: Found solution: Problem was that I disabled Google Files app which gives access to SD card to other apps. It is weird that Alcatel gave more power to Files than to his own File Manager or even operating system. (Cleaning system cash from boot menu may have helped also.)

  41. Aakash Arora-avatar

    Aakash Arora

The best app to have on any Android device.... Been using this for about 5+ years. Nothing fancy and does what it is supposed to perfectly. Every app has bugs now and then but this app has never disappointed and if there are any issues whatsoever they are pretty much very basic and can be ignored.

  42. Universal Soul Samurai-avatar

The absolute best file manager for Android IMO. Copy/move for organisation becomes a breeze and the ability to hook up to cloud storage, FTP and SSH in your phone file manager... just awesome!

  43. Kurt H-avatar

  44. H T-avatar

Without a doubt, the best on the market, but without a doubt, the worst UI on the market! I mean I would gladly support the dev by purchasing the full version, but the UI is so bad that I can't even look at the payment page. But all that aside, it's so powerful that I give it 4.

  45. Aaron Morgan-avatar

Crippled/Disabled features unless you "donate" I would buy a Pro version with the full feature set though. Otherwise one of the best pieces of software I have ever used, it's clean and ad free, does what it's supposed to, reliably.

Loving this app for organizing my internal & SD card & USB drive storage. I primarily use the new folder, rename, copy, & move functions. Sooooo much easier to find what's on my phone now. Eventually I'll explore the other features as well.

Love it! Best file manager in my opinion, it work really well for rooted device! Copy and paste files and folder quick and easy! Love the speed and consistency! Apk files, pictures and videos has thumbnail! And it also has its own video player!

  49. Felix Anderson-avatar

    Felix Anderson

One of the most useful apps as far as file management and file synchronization goes. X-plore is worth every penny and more (I bought twice in different phones/accounts). I think the developer and app deserve 10/10 stars for the app. Very well made, intuitive and functional. Lots of features!

  50. John Bowler-avatar

Massive Battery Drain! This had been the best - so good I paid for it! But having used it yesterday 1 minute of use have 30% battery use. I uninstalled it but today my battery had dropped 10% in an hour, usually 1%. com.lonelycatgames.Xplore is still consuming a load of battery. Any suggestions?

    Nemonics Racing

Updated & now it won't find my previous vault files. Even if I select the exact folder... still nothing. "Scan for previous vaults"... yeh, did that about 5 times, still nothing. I've used this for years with multiple phones, if I lose all those files that were supposed to be "secure" I'm 100% done with this app

  57. Steve Hopkins-avatar

Best Andy file manager I've used, video player navigated instantly to any point I selected playing a 19G .mkv from a LAN resource... Copied same 19G .mkv in the background at 5-6MB/s over local 5G wifi connection in just under an hour with no hiccups or drop-outs when the phone went to sleep (su access on unlocked phone)... This is my new go-to Android file manager!

Mean and lean . This app is part of a classification of apps that I call SuperApps with super powers and premissions. This app can look into the heart of your Android without rooting your device. Its great if you need to see or write to the "registry" or if you just want to make sure you dont have any hidden files lurking in your storage. Must have App for sure.

multi select by interval, android stuff like all images/videos are needed on a full touch device. Also copy to clipboard should not disappear if doing something like delete another file.

I really like this app. I wish you would update the vault feature tho. The zipinzip solution feels outdated. Use 7zip encryption or something so we can update the vault on windows/other os without issues.

Be very cautious using this app. Using data tracking and analysis software its evident they send out loads of information to servers in China. Some of it goes to IP addresses accociated with the Chinese Firewall, Huawei, and more. It has the auto-granted permission to read, change, delete and send out ALL system, internal and SD card files in the foreground AND background. It used close to a gigabyte of my mobile data in the month of February. Just be aware of what you're downloading.
