X-plore allows you to see inside of your Android device. And also outside.
This is a dual-pane explorer, there are two folders shown at same time, and common operation such as copying files are done from one pane to another.
And X-plore shows folder hierarchy in a tree view for clear orientation and fast switching to other location.
You may explore internals of the device, and if you're power user and have your device rooted, you can make changes to system data - backup files, remove unwanted applications, etc.
If you're standard user, you may choose to hide internal memory from view and be sure not to mess with system.
You can comfortably see contents of mass memories on your device, or possibly attached USB memory stick.
Simple app manager allows to see, run, copy, share, uninstall and further explore installed applications.
WiFi file sharing
Access files on your Android device from other Android devices over WiFi.
Access from a PC web browser
Manage files on your Android device from your PC.
Access to FTP and FTPS (secure FTP) servers is supported.
Multiple servers may be configured.
X-plore can display shared folders on other computers in LAN.
X-plore can access various web storage "Cloud" servers, and access their files.
You need to have account in supported web service, then you can access your files stored online through X-plore.
Supported is also SSH File Transfer (SFTP) and Terminal shell emulator.
X-plore contains music player that can play music tracks from any available location.
With Vault function, you can encrypt sensitive files, even by your fingerprint.
Main operations are related to managing files and folders - viewing, copying, moving, deleting, compressing to Zip, extracting, renaming, sharing, and more.
SQLite database viewer
X-plore can show SQLite database files (those with .db extension) as expandable list of tables, each table containing list of rows and columns with database entries.
Main interaction is done by touch screen, clicking on folders or files to open files, or long-click to open context menu which contains options which can be done on particular clicked item, or multiple selected items.
Multi-selection allows to do operation on more files at once.
Opening file may mean to use one of built-in viewer for most popular file types: images, audio, video and text.
Or you may configure X-plore to use system application for opening files, in which case system-predefined application that can open particular file is launched.
Archives (currently supported are Zip, Rar and 7zip) are displayed as other folders.

Copy/ move fuctions is a mess. wont let me select or change destination folder. Edit: I figured it out without any docs, eventually. It is still non-standard. Nobody should have to read a manual to for a basic copy/move. Maybe it is more intuitive if you have a bigger screen and both panes are seen side by side, but I dont have that. Other than that, great app. Lots of stuff on interface that may be distracting, but I suppose it is thourough and focused on being a good file manager

Yet another version with the same flaws 🙄 still can't play music files in zip/rar archives since version 4.25.10 😔 I mean via the basic xplore player! *Edit* I'm sure you know there are 2 versions of the player in X-plore. I use the basic version (without donate nag screen) that appears when the box in "Use own viewers>Audio" is deselected! I've been using it for years, then suddenly it stopped working.... 4.25.10 was the last good version for me! *Edit* pffft I give up, older versions better!

The most intuitive and user-friendly interface of all the Android file manager apps I use. Yes, it's good to have others - e. g. MiX has ad'l view settings like gallery & grid that can be helpful when dealing w images, and I'd love X-plore to have. But most of the time X-plore's GUI and ease of use is what I go to first and definitely my recommendation for most users who'd be put off by the interface & learning curve of other file manager apps.

Excellent threaded, dual-pane file manager. And small. But one of its best features??... possiblity the smallest, smoothest HTML Viewer on the Play Store! EDIT 2021-07-10: HTML viewer doesn't appear to be working properly: if I press a link to another local HTML file, it no longer works; it just opens up a blank page.

I like that I'm able to browse and edit files on my Google device but the text editor is infuriating. I need to edit a playlist file in retroarch but the text editor isn't letting me put the cursor where I want it to be. I took a video with my phone I'll try to send it to you so you can see what's happening. Five stars but for this text editor. Edit - I was able to connect to my OneDrive account copy the files over there edit them on my laptop and then copy them back.

With the lates update 'Use X-plore USB-Driver' checkbox is not respected if the USB drive is unplugged & plugged again. It's very unplesent to need to uncheck and check the box in the menu to load the driver again. Needed to downgrade to stable version for Android TV.

The functionality is great! But I wanna konw why I can only see about 1/5 of all my data which is just a small part of total. I have known about root privilege, but the percentage of hidden files and directories is so large to be 4/5?

With Google Play store doing SCOOPED STORAGE now with Android 11. Which is preventing access to the Android data files/cache. This is the app to regain access again.. Thank you so much for making this application.

I think the latest update targets to Android 11(effecting scoped storage), because of which I am now unable to access several folders and files. Please fix.

Not amazed by it. .. it's logic seem counter intuitive it's pretty bad, a dismal failure. It's nice for batch file processing, movement or deletion, but that's about it. I like to select my process files, and then pick my target folders. This seems simple and logical, normal! Do that with this app it defaults to move files in opposite direction; you have to undo inadvertent move, reselect files to operate AGAIN.. Developer must be a Asian -- everything in reverse logic. Hard to adapt! Yikes!
