I was really excited to have an alternative to the usual car rental agencies, but this is obviously used by some car hosts to play the insurance claim game, making it not worth the perceived lower cost. If you're going to use this service BE REALLY CAREFUL and take close up pictures of every inch of the car as even the slightest scuff found will have them running to claims for new paint jobs and parts replacements. I've got a clean driving record and years of rental history. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Turo is AirBnB for cars! it's a great alternative to rentals with not QUITE the convenience. I didn't really understand how it worked, this being my first rental via this system. My only advice would be to pay close attn to where the car is, meaning if you're renting it from someone that is 20 miles from an airport that you're flying into, you will need to Uber, Lyft or get some type ride to the car. That is really the biggest con. I had to factor in more cost and time for that.

You might get lucky and have a good experience. You might also get unlucky and have a terrible, trip ruining experience. In my case the host had excellent reviews but on getting in the car, tons of problem lights appeared, including an airbag warning indicator. Thank God we didn't get in an accident on our trip. I left a poor review for it and got lashed at by the host saying garbage responses to all the safety hazards. It's simple - don't use Turo to ensure your rented car is safe to drive.

My experience with Turo was fantastic from start to finish thanks to the smooth payment process and mostly because of the wonderful host D'Artagnan. The Mustang convertible was beautiful and well maintained. The instructions for pickup and delivery were seamless. I agree with others about the hidden fees. I booked my trip back in July. My flight landing time changed by about 1.5 hrs since then (out of my control) so I wanted to push back my pickup time by that amount. It said I had to pay $88 to do that, which was about 1/5 of the cost of my entire 14 day trip! How does that make sense? When I called customer service, I had to talk to FIVE different people, all of whom gave me different reasons for the cost, and none of whom could actually help me.

Pointless as far as I can tell. Not an improvement on the car rental experience. The Fees equal the cost of the rental and the Fees do not include tax or insurance! So if you want to rent a vehicle listed at a cost of $125, the actual cost is $125 plus fees $125 plus tax plus insurance which are equal at least $275 depending on the tax and insurance. If something is wrong with the rental, there are no other options like you would have at a rental company. Utter garbage.

The most dishonest app and website I've seen for a while. When you're searching, they show you a daily price and an estimated total at the bottom of each car. By the time you reach checkout, it'll be nearly double. Example just now: car £60/day, 3 days trip. It shows £153 est. total. At checkout with no extras chosen, it's £246 ! What's worse is they give less than half to hosts and keep the rest to them!! whilst charging trip fees for every customer by stating "this is to help us run". Fraud.

Failed right at sign up!!! Enter your date of birth - no option to TYPE in, instead, you have to choose from the pop-up calendar that back dated to 1980, good luck giving yourself carpal tunnel clicking the right arrow to get to your birth year! Major design FAIL!!!! Update, So I gave in and used the app lol Moved from 1 star to 2 star: Took forever to load! Sometimes fails to load at all!

Excellent service offering a wide range of cars at better rates than the chain corporation's. Saves time at the airport no hassle of waiting in long lines your car is ready to go when you arrive. I highly recommend turo for their rental services and as a host on the platform.

First trip was excellent.. Second one went well despite few cancelations. Service degrades but insurance and turo costs still increased. Host can cancel trip by giving funny reasons(ex: my car is in garage) Latest trip: host was an all star host, and has 4 cars on turo. I booked the car which looked dirty compared to images. Brakes and doors made lot of noise, slightly wobbling, so definitely not safe. Worst thing is I paid host 75$ extra for a small scratch and he is claiming from Turo too.
