This weather app is not affiliated with NOAA or the National Weather Service. Products provided by NOAA are in the public domain, and this app's use of those products is compliant with NOAA/NWS terms of use. This app provides forecasts, animated radar, hourly forecast, and current conditions, all in an intuitive and easy to use interface. Just the information you need, provided accurately, quickly, and for your exact location. ★ "A no-nonsense approach to show weather data on your phone, but done well and great looking" - Android Central This app uses NOAA point forecasts from your GPS location to get the most localized weather available. Point forecasts are great for climbing, hiking, skiing, or any outdoor activity where weather from a nearby city isn't accurate enough. GPS on the phone will provide the most accurate location, but usually isn't needed. Nearby cell towers and Wi-Fi networks can also provide this information, and will be checked first to save time and battery. You can also enter a location manually. To provided highly localized forecasting, this app uses point forecasts from the National Weather Service (NOAA/NWS), and is therefore only available in the US. If there is severe weather this will display at the top of the forecast. This app currently does NOT support severe weather alerts or notifications. NOAA is providing this service directly through cell carriers. You can read more about the service at https://www.weather.gov/wrn/wea. There are also several differently sized widgets available which can be placed on your homescreen to provide some basic weather information, without the need to open the app. Forecast discussion is available through the menu button. Permission: Location This app requires your location to provide you with the most accurate weather. This is fundamental to how the app works. You can still add manual locations as well if you prefer. Permission: Photos/Media/Files This permission is required by Google Maps so that it can cache map tiles for faster loading. It sounds like the app is doing something with your photos or media, but it is not. The permission means that the app has permission to access your files (which includes photos and media), but does not mean they are actually being accessed. It is a subtle but important distinction. Contact me if you have further questions about this. These are the non-simplified permissions as listed in the Android manifest: android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION" (location access listed above) android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" (check for network connection) android.permission.INTERNET" (download weather) android.permission.VIBRATE" (for zoom feedback on old radar) android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" (this is Photos/Media/Files listed above) com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES" (required by google maps) FAQ (Frequently asked questions): http://graniteapps.net/noaaweather/faq.html Please contact me if you have any further questions or problems. This is the ad supported free version of NOAA Weather. You are also limited to 3 saved locations. Upgrade to remove ads and this restriction. This is the only weather app I've found that doesn't use up my battery when out walking, slow my phone to a crawl at times, use mobile data even after I set it to never use mobile data, flood me with notifications, spam me with ads and distract me with come-ons every time I open the app. So this weather app gets five stars and all the rest get uninstalled.

App doesn't work. Every time I try to open the app, I get an Error message saying, "Forecast Update Error, There we're Errors downloading the forecast, please try again in a little while. There's a bug causing this problem. No good. Bad. Piece of junk. Totally useless. Uninstalled. REJECTED!!!

This app is stable and gets closer to the weather that actually occurs in my area than a lot of the others. It has a lot of selectable data options, hourly forecasts, weather maps, and a good widget. There are ads, but I haven't found them to be too annoying and they don't interfere with the app functions. Overall, this is a solid app that meets my needs.

This is my favorite weather app. It's easy to use, and I can customize the information it provides. There is a free version as well as paid. I've been a paid user for several years, primarily for the additional number of locations that provides. It's been a great investment!

Have had trouble with this app in the past. Ended up deleting it over half a year ago when nothing would work. Kept getting error messages telling me to try again later. I recently tried app again and was still having trouble at first. For whatever reason it could not find my location. It still wouldn't work after manually adding location. Apparently it eventually found my location after a day and seems to be working. Not the best, but not the worst.

Looks like it could be a really great app, but it never fully loads and comes up with a pop up saying that it's exceeded NOAAs downloads. This is the 3rd time I've tried the app and it's still not fully loading. 3 stars for the development and design but without any real useful info l can't keep it

Can not download the forecast. This is unacceptable. I have never had a weather app with this problem. This isn't a game or toy app. Weather can affect people's life. A weather app needs to work.

This app is great! Even if it's forecasted to rain you can see the estimated quantity to see if you can still go out and when. It's also great for dodging storms with the radar feature. I have used this app for decisions on sailing, harvesting alfalpha, and planning various outdoor activities. And it's FREE!

A very good way to get a long range forecast. I use it as a check on my other wx apps. NOAA provides more info with respect to warnings which will be helpful as winter nears.
