Reviews From google play store

I'm really sorry to say but I expected a lot more. The app is useless if you want to work with multiple workbooks, pivots, other functions in desktop version's "Data" tab, etc. Data analysis cannot be done, only data presentation can be done with this android app. It is injustice done to your powerful phone's capacity when all you can do is fill data and format it using this app. I hope MS comes up with a much more powerful & complete app, up to the standards of MS Excel desktop version.

Everything works well enough if you stay in one account. Good luck, though, if you have multiple accounts (I did this by accident when I bought a new tablet), because this app will only let you open one at a time and gives you the run-around if you so much as want to sign out of one and into another. It says to reset, but if you manage to reset office, it still will not allow access to a second account. It keeps defaulting to the first you signed into on the device.

Every single time that I switch between applications or close this app, Excel logs me out and I have to sign in again. Every. Single. Time. It has been doing this for weeks, it just started spontaneously one day. I had been using it for years without incident on my Kindle fire. Now I'm forced to use WPS software to create my spreadsheets. Nice job, Microsoft. I sincerely hope you get this fixed soon

Would be great if it had all the stuff as regular microsoft excel pc's have. I use a chromebook for college and bought the monthly for like a month or 2 now just to find out this app has nothing compared to the regular microsoft excel. This app is useless once you have to do something complicated. Has like 1/4 the stuff I need. Please fix.

It can get a bit confusing on my phone but I'm unsure if that's fixable. Opening documents on my computer I can edit things in a way that doesn't display the same on phone but iv been working around that. It's still very useful and used often enough on my phone for my family budgeting. I'd say 4.5 star's if I could ultimately I feel there is room for improvement but no big glitches which is great. I have recommended.

Needed to make an invoice quick, first I couldn't use this without internet, got internet then it tells me I need to activate a subscription, 30 days free then an automatic charge on my account? Now here I am looking for an alternate because I'd like to own software so I can use when I desire, not rent software for life continuing to pay just so I can use it once a month. Greedy companies get no business from me. I suggest finding an alternate so you can save that money.

Using this on a Chromebook. So very frustrating. Basically it's just the mobile version of the program so it's WAY trimmed down, as in most useful functionality is gone. If I need to do any real work I have to get out my macbook, which isn't my work computer, and then save it to the cloud so I can access it on my chromebook. I have found most of MS Office to be borderline useless on the chromebook.

Why is it that I have been able to use Excel on one tablet completely fine (as in able to edit/etc) and now that I have upgraded to a newer tablet - I can no longer edit any files without having to purchase an Office 365 subscription and this is with the SAME excel application version on the new tablet? Once difference I see is is on the old tablet - you can only Disable excel where as on the new tablet (both Samsungs ) you can uninstall...??

I have been using this app for work for years. I only need excel to do my work timesheet which takes me 30 minutes every 2 weeks. I opened the app today, and it says I can only read files, and cannot edit because of the type of decide I have. Why do you think all of a sudden I'm going to pay you for that? Especially when you didn't give any heads up or warnings about the change. Now this app is trash and will be deleted.

Great app, but the app logo should be different from microsoft word, they seem to be the same after downloading it but different in the app store. In the app store, Excel is green with an X letter on it but if you download it, the logo becomes blue just the same as Word. This confuses one of Word and Excel. If the change can be made by making the downloaded app logo the same as the one in the store it will be really nice for convenience sake.

Not impressed, I've used the app for the last 6 months on my phone (S9+) and tablet (S3) however I've just upgraded my tablet and now I have to have a O365 subscription if I want more than just read only. The level I use the app, once a week for 30 minutes across both devices, does not warrant paying £5.99 just because my screen size is 0.4 of an inch bigger than their requirement. Also their support email doesn't work, get a bounce back saying this address is not configured correctly.

I can work around the limited app functions. I can work around the incredibly small screen. What I can't work with is the inability to use the app across all devices. The app will only open old spreadsheets. So if Im on the go I can't just open my work since I made adjustments/corrections using a computer yesterday. My solution was to resave the computer spreadsheet with a different name, each time, and use the app to open that new spreadsheet. Defeats the purpose of the app.

I love the Excel program because it is helpful for my buziness reports, my husband's Estimates & Invoices, and the Daily Schedule looks like it will be useful. I am used to my desktop but this app is working great on my tablet so I'm very impressed. I definitely recommend, oh, and the automatic Save feature is awesome, I recommend this app!

Good app not 5 yet , but I allready see good improvements from updates.I like that you can create new excel documents now . I do not like the replacement of the tool bar being at the bottom or I guess you would say split . I love the intuitive feel of the os it makes since and has subtle gestures that once you learn make since and ease of working off a smart phone. I just hope the future improvements are well thought out!

It's been years since I last used a spreadsheet & I must admit I am quite afraid of using the app where once I was considerably gifted. That's all changed now but I need to get back on the horse again. I have given a fair rating until I get comfortable again and attempt to regain some of my imaginativity once again.

Have been using Excel for a long while to fill out time sheets for work. Only recently moved to the mobile app. Works in same fashion with a few changes in user interface. No major complaints or comments in the few months ive been using the mobile app. Subscription service payments add up to a few cents per day per year, as far as i can tell.

Ever since the update last week , I have been unable to open a spreadsheet schedule that I have been able to open in the past with out issue. Nothing has changed on the senders end when I try to open the spreadsheet it tells me.that I am unable to because it is protected with a password. . It doesn't give me.the option to put in a password . And none of the other email recipients get this message.. I should mention that this issue only happens on my android phone .

I give it an email, I give it the correct password. It says, no. I change email accounts, the same. I keep track of my passwords, I know they are correct. I have not 'forgotten' them. In fact, this is a common problem using Microsoft. Much of their popularity lies in their supposed ability to cross-reference applications, yet they seem incapable of maintaining passwords across these applications, and blame the user rather than admit their own failings.

Incredible. I started up excel on my phone for the first time to do some first time budgeting. I clicked a page to take me to the excel template and automatically it placed all my expenses into the template. I literally had to do nothing but a few price adjustments. Love Microsoft.

Really good to have Excel on mobile, but I encountered some bugs, 1. The charcters sometimes disppear on the top input field though typed text is still visible on cells while typing 2. Whenever I switch from 1 app to excel, it will frequently freeze for a while, this doesn't happen when editing same file on google sheets

The Office 365 subscription is way too much money. I renewed ($109+) and less than a week later (ran a few apps a few times) was told that it had now expired, my apps were disabled for most functions, and I should renew again. Over a hundred bucks for less than a week. That's too much money to pay for an office spyware package.

office 365 Excel Sucks! Half the options I needed for my project were no longer available. It said "switch to the desktop version" except, as far as I can tell, it doesn't actually switch to a desktop version. I can't add a header because I can't open a stupid desktop version! Even after I allegedly paid for an downloaded Office for $112!

I use the apps from the start of their availability in Android. My problem with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint that I see is... It scales into Tablet on my Galaxy Note 10+, which has 6.8 inch display, very close to a tablet size (7 inch). This isn't a problem on the workbook/document/presentation view (the ones that we work or see with). The problem is on the new doc/xls/ppt and opening files). The content is hardly seen. Fix it.

Only now, after decades does Excel work as well on PC as it does on mobile. Inexcusable that it took this long, but there it is: working as it should as though the app were developed specifically for (in my case) Android. Nothing sexy, excel is all about spreadsheets and here nothing feels ported, it feels native and intuitive. Solid app, "NOW ON MOBILE".

I got this app mainly for reading excel files that I've saved and backed up to one drive and it works perfectly for that. Much easier to navigate around than using Google docs. If you really want to edit a lot of spreadsheets I wouldn't bother with this, use a laptop instead.

Installed onto chromebook, doesn't look like the destop version with labeled dropdown or menu options, making it extremely difficult to navigate for a new and unfamiliar user. Sub-category dropdown menus don't respond to mouse clicks at all and must be activated through the touch screen, stunting the rate of work.

After working on a file, and adding more data, and resaving several times to one drive and then to my phone I was distressed to find only my initial save to onedrive was there. All my work was lost. The save to my phone was nonexistant. When a friend sent me a file to work on by email, I opened to find it was read only - not what I needed. Just another unhappy microsoft experience.

I love this app on my Android smartphone. I can store lots of information, and even have multiple sheets per spreadsheet. I store all my medications and supplements, so when my doctors ask for this information I can just hand them the phone. I track all the Christmas gifts I've bought for each of my family members and their cost and whether I've wrapped them. This way I can ensure I'm being fair to each of them and I don't forget a gift I've bought earlier in the year. So many uses!

Good app. Needs more flexability to add or change data. The current process is very time consuming to figure out how to get it done. I have been using Excel for many years on a computer, and use the app as a reference to those sheets created on said computer, since the app is not as flexible as the computer program.

I would consider myself a near 20 year user of Excel, maybe black belt user, not just accounting, but make extensive of Solver and macros, and it has never failed to solve complex problems. Excel has never told me "no". Use the forums, and the only limit is your knowledge. I build solar power plants and could not do my job without this program.

Trying to use for college and I am unable to access downloaded data files. I can see where it is downloaded but it isn't bold so I can click on it, it is obviously in the background. Tried it from my HP laptop from microsoft and it works almost perfectly but i can in no way, shape, or form open my downloaded class data files on my chromebook.... would have never bought this had I known that...

Have always liked using Excel! The capability of using cloud storage so I can edit using any of my laptops, phone & tablet is great. One issue I have not resolved (and I'm confident is user error) is I keep getting error messages telling me it can't save an update because it can't merge it with other updates. I know I exit the application every time I edit so I'm not sure what is failing to happen. It's like some file lock is not releasing... stay tuned for updates :-)

For all Microsoft Office apps, it works pretty good. I've got a Chromebook, so it really comes in handy when I need to look at and adjust emailed docs and don't want to use Google's online doc-processors. Obviously, the app can't do EVERYTHING that the desktop version can do, but it can get the job done.

Will not work on my Android Tablet! I've been using MSO for years at work, home on both computers and on my cell. I have a paid stand alone Pro version at home. I have always been able to edit and create Word, Excel and PPT docs on my Android phone without issue. I just purchased a new Samsung tablet and can not create nor edit docs at all whether from One Drive or local drive. I can only Read Only. I keep getting error message I have to purchase ANOTHER subscription for 365!!!

Been using Excel for decades and a few of its predecessors for years before that. The newest edition is by far the best even though I will probably never use much of it's incredible functionality. Its just the best.

Excellent spreadsheet App. Does Password protection and runs Desktop Excel workbooks, including graphs, just fine....except the mobile version doesn't do visual basic. Not even short macros. Someday soon I hope MSFT will make Excel Mobile have all the power with macro visual basic programming features of Thier Windows 10 OS versions

Taking my money and not allowing editing of documents. This app worked great until recently. Now I am unable to edit even though I have a paid office 365 subscription. I keep getting the error "can't complete task. Sign in with work or school account you use to access office 365" I'm paying for this monthly and it's not working. Absolutely useless now.

This app doesn't work for anything that you'd actually need excel for. Let me edit the graphs, at least! All it will allow is adding or removing visual elements; there is no point in even having this app. Really all of Microsoft's Android apps. Please work on all of your Office applications. They're trash as it stands now.

Microsoft Excel is the best data book for save data, calculate & many more. it's provided the Same function like desktop version. It's easy to use and user friendly. I like this application. I thankful to software development to provide us Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel is the quintessential spreadsheet program for anyone from beginner to intermediate and advanced users. I still prefer the Windows version any day of the week but in a pinch you can muddle around with the android version and make a professionally prepared spreadsheet look like it was done by circular referencing amateur in a few hours of frustration! 😁

you need to fix the latest Excel to work with all Android op systems. I can't get into it on my Moto Z2 anymore. I pay for this usage so I expect it to work with any of my equipment. I'm not buying a crappy iPhone and my company doesn't anymore either. You want to remain competitive quit trying to force people to use your crappy hardware.

So far good. One and only app that I use to work on my excel sheets. There is no other app to replace as of now. Sync option with onedrive works without any issues as I am a desktop as well as android user and this option is more important for me. Great work Microsoft team.

This is as close as you can come to the desktop version. I am using the functions to calculate my working time and travel time and I am learning how to use functions I didn't know existed. I just wish I could get more built in help to explain the functions rather than going to the internet. Otherwise, this is a great product.

It's pretty decent. I like the continuity with the desktop app. For my use, it's all I need. I REALLY wish it would actually close when I back out of it. That's the reason for only 4 stars.

I Would be lost without it. I've used a spreadsheet for my bills for years, it helps to track what bills have gone out and what bills are still to go out. it auto adds and takes away so I know exactly how much should be in my bank to cover bills. It does take time to set it up but once it's done it's easy I just copy and paste a column and change the date at the top we get paid four weekly so this really helps to track bills providing you update every time a bill goes out simple to work out.

I don't need your cloud storage. I don't need to use this on my PC. $7 a month just to edit something is STUPID. I only need excel and word. I will find another option.

I use this app as well as microsoft word on my chromebook, and it is unfortunate that microsoft office is so common in the business and academic world, because trying to use these apps is an absolute nightmare! These are utterly pathetic excuses for microsoft office and Im looking forward to the day when Google or ANY alternative takes over. In the excel app I cant drag and drop cells at all or edit all columns and rows at once and there are a host of other basic functions I simply cant do. BAD!

Is really handy to be able to use Excel on the go but some things are really hard work via mobile. I've downgraded my review as I'm finding that this app is hugely less stable than it was on my Microsoft 950XL handset & keeps telling me I need to open files on a PC to fix them!!! 🤬

Broken functions and formulas. The good old desktop excel worked well that I find it strange that the complete functionality of some of the formulas and functions didn't get migrated over. E.g value formula doesn't convert as many diff types of text numbers to values like "-$123.45", find and replace doesn't pick up ' symbol in cell contents.

Takes a minute to learn how to use it on Android since it's not navigated the same way. At first I thought it was too difficult to use on Android but after you familiarize yourself with it I actually LOVE it just add much as the desktop! Microsoft you are always hitting it out of the park, Thank You !

App used to work. I got a new phone and on Android 9 but Excel app does not recognize my Microsoft sign-in even though Outlook does. I can not save any files now, received or created in app. Not worth downloading any more and I have since deleted the app.

This Android app does not have a cell note function, only comment threads, which do not display properly in older versions of Excel. This makes compatibility poor for following notes, as the hover displays a message instead of the actual comment when viewing in Excel 2013. Fast scroll buttons are easily touched when moving the view of cells, making the location jump several pages by accident -- if not noticed, this can trick you into editing the wrong cell, totally ruining the totals.

Excel perfect but I have had to do an online repair to Office 365 several times in the last few weeks in order to open Excel on my computer. Something wrong somewhere!!

Really upset with this as not everything is the same. It's missing parts of the program. As an excel user I would like to see everything the same as the computer version implemented into this version for me to rate 5 stars.

Great for being able to do quick tasks on the go, but shame about some of the functionality missing. Not being able to have more than 2 sheets open at a time is the worst thing. I spend a lot of my time copying and pasting from one to another but it takes me 10 times longer like this.

Almost as good as the desktop version. Works in a pinch in the field when I have to collect empirical data. Even better if I have made a phone friendly template.

I use the app frequently. But it gets stuck at 'Opening file' without loading any further. Other times I type but the word is not seen. Please fix them so I can stay with Microsoft! Thank you

Very useless app. We need to give permission for file to be sent online ti Microsoft servers for 'conversion' before it can be opened by Microsoft Excel. WPS office is much better, it just opens any file. I would have given 0 stars had the option been there. Instant Uninstall.

I had rather use this making lists and a schedules than word. Great spreadsheet. When I was working, we had a monthly timesheet to fill out with work, sick, and vacation time to fill out and balance. I put this on Excell for myself to eliminate errors and the whole department ended up using it. Payroll department appreciated it.

When I wanna sign in always says only onedrive account can you add go to settings and reset well this I cant find so I cant use this app.Unfortunatly I creat a onedrive account a year ago , but I cant access it and Microsoft dont deleting it super secure :/ so is up there in the cloud wasting space co2.

Unable to now edit between computer and mobile. It wants me to save a copy to continue editing on mobile. This defeats the purpose of having the capability of going between computer and mobile. Gave it 3 stars because it used to work amazingly well and at least I can now load files...

I have a good experience with Excel overall. My only problem is using the awkward keyboards and small screens on my tablet and smartphone. I haven't had any problems with functions not working on the Android versions.

Good to see Ms back on its track again.....I thought I'd they keep as before.... Less features and Costly subscription then many others would have cornered MS office... Nice work thanks for Coming back with good features n all...Also best of luck to keep improvising

Really like it, i use it every day as workout log, grocery list, calculate macros and sometime open school related sheets. But I hate how a lot of times I'll enter a range of data and then the sheet automatically converts them to dates, and it seems like the formatting doesn't stick.

I have been using the Excel app for android for quite some time doing all sort of things you can with it (except VBA). I am really impressed with its abilities and convenience the only thing I need to point out is that you need at least 5'5'' inches screen.

This app is misleading. "Review your work or start a budget on the go. Customise your spreadsheet your way with robust formatting tools and great features. Excel lets you build your spreadsheet to meet" but only if you have an office365 subscription which you find out after you've installed it.

What can I say? I can create and edit Excel documents on my phone. It's easy. I don't think you'd want to create anything hyper complex on a mobile device, just because it would be annoying, but you could!

It's a great program. I hadn't used it for awhile and this newer version has me stumped for things I used to know where to find. How to do something I used to do is either on a different screen or deleted. But I am sure that with some time and practice, I will be fine again. 🤗

This is a very good app for monthly budget and many more works. I loved this app very much. I would like to recommend this app to my friends. This is a very useful app for the daily working. Microsoft Office is always useful to me for my daily working. I can represent my data in a very simple manner.

It is lacking in so many things such as prediction, quick summing up of figures, it suppose to be easily renamed and the various books should made plain for easy sorting of the choice book. And it is difficult to return to the previous book

Every time I clock the app icon from my home screen it restarts and has to reload my document, sometimes it won't even load. If you don't specifically click Save or click another cell outside of what you just typed and you leave the app, it won't save your most recent cell. Super annoying.

Just like the original windows product. There are some adjustments you have to make, especially if you are a ''right clicker' as the options are not the same. Other than that it does the job of a spreadsheet as you would expect.

It's so nice to be able to make spreadsheets etc from my phone. This app really came in handy planning a party, was so convenient to easily update the list as people texted me on my phone.

Tried to open my shift table with an external file manager w/xl: It requires online service. Tried within the app itself: no online service required. Are you by chance cheating to spy on me Microsoft? I then renamed the same file to share with my colleagues. The exact copy file can be opened by Excel unlike the very same original file from which the renamed file was duplicated and could be opened before. Total nonsense and privacy concern. Use better 3d party apps for your xls files

Very helpful in keeping information together and easy to access. I am not an expert with excel but my wife is smarter than many. Love that I can use it on my phone and desktop.

I open a file, just take a look, wanna close exel, but it asks me if I want to save changes. It's a bug that they haven't fixed for over a year, it started wen I updated once.

Chrome OS apps suck, you can only open one office file at a time. So if you are working on two excel or word documents you have to constantly close one document to open another.

Sufficient space available error fixed. Very powerful app. Can perform many of the Excel functions that are in the desktop version. Also, very stable. I've never had it crash. It integrates well with cloud storage accounts.

Excellent job for the developers. Few days later, there is an update. And finally it can be opened again as usual. Now, I just need to wait for the Word update to fix this same problem as Excel. Hopefully, they are the same developers.

I've only had 1 issue with this app this far, & that, despite being devastating has only happened once. I haven't been able to recreate the incident. ( I had a spreadsheet disappear entirely, as if it never existed.)

Good app. I felt that I'm using desktop. In the beginning I felt difficult, later it becomes easy. Dragging numbers from 1 to 50, and applying formula in each cell would be tedious. So, please provide dragging option as we do in desktop.

Excel is my bestfriend in PC for work. Glad I can work on my business using excel in my phone. I am just curious how to freeze panes, though. But overall, I am satisfied. Thank you!

Its a wonderful app, works like a boom. I was looking for the option to convert the documents into a PDF and couldnot find the option. If there is please guide me

I can't describe how convenient it is to be able to access my desktop documents and edit and share from here. It saves me loads of time when I don't have access to my computer.

It's nice one, But page setting and print preview is missing. So for the purpose you must have to use PC, Laptop, which is very annoying.

Great program. Didn't no problem opening files on sd cards, but after this last update, it will open file once or twice on sd card and then keeps showing error and won't open. File is lost. When I save to cloud, there is no issues yet.

Fumbling with a mobile device is never productive. Using the world's best productivity software on a mobile is not fun but the app delivers a great experience in simple spreadsheets that you can take to a keyboard mouse and large screen any time. The office 365 cross device integration is the best thing since sliced pie.

Very Adaptable. Easy to use and, in my case, a better option than Access for recording information and data. I have used it for recording accounts, names & addresses, birthdays, anniversaries etc. After One Note, this is my next go-to within Office.

Quick and fast to open attachments when on a mobile device. Easy to read. Great for catching a quick look at a document to address critical issues until you can get to a computer.

Love having access to files on the go. Generally a great app. The past couple of updates, before I log into see any files, I have to clear my cache or files don't open.

Please add the option for the app to moved to SD Card. Low end devices suffer from a chronic problem of low Internal Space. To make it worse MS Excel eats up a further 240+ MB out of it.

Very easy to use, has all the festures I need, files are compatible with desktop version, allowing me to use either platform for maintaining spreadsheets on Onedrive

this app is great for those people who don't have computers and laptops they can easily create the data on this. just add some features like data validation

Very convenient to be able to take a quick look or verify data at your fingertips on your phone. The format is always accurate and easy to zoom in on.

I was use to the entire Microsoft Excel edition from my office computer. Whereas this app takes some getting use to and doesn't have ALL the characteristics and abilities of that edition, it's does do what I need given its limited abilities.

Mobile version takes some getting used to coming from a traditional laptop. Love the sharing between devices, so seemless and very useful.

I've used it since DOS. Yes, that Was an OS once upon a time. Once you learn how to find add-ons, you are limited only by your imagination.

Handy if you want to add a few figures etc to an existing sheet. Don't bother if you want to do anything else. Way to cut back and frustrating.

As a retired accountant I have been using Excel for many years. It's an excellent program that I now use for on accounting purposes.

App works just fine - until, once in a while it just freezes and after reboot dumps a number of lines of previuosly saved input. This is MOST annoying in deed!
