Although it's getting better, my phone app still spontaneously cuts out. Most annoying. Often causing me to your competitor KAZU, which Has never cut out on my same smartphone. Same with My last phone which is why I bought the newer, better one KDFC is still my favorite station. I love the sunny voices of Jennifer and Diane.

This was a super app, but like all good things... marketing departments need to ruin it. Overnight (literally) the work function disappeared! Loved using the "share" option to investigate new works or composers for later perusal after my first few coffee. I'll need to find a replacement and will uninstall. Unfortunately, the actual radio broadcast is too weak in Marin, so I'll have to stop my contributions as well.

Edit: Newly updated. Glad to report that it now works again with Android9/Pie. Thanks to the developers. The app has not been updated since September 2018. It was working just fine for me on Android 8/Oreo. It stopped working when my phone was updated to Android 9/Pie. It has the same symptoms reported elsewhere here - central icon spins endlessly and music is not played. Android 9 has "tightened up" on some of aspects of app writing to improve security. I reported this problem to the developers of this app a couple of weeks ago and they reported they are working on the issue. I hope that fairly soon we will see an update that restores the KDFC app to full working status for those of us on Android 9 and for the folks on earlier Android releases as they upgrade.

I have taken a real liking to classical music just within the last year. I first heard KDFC on my way from San Francisco, the music sort of GRABBED me. When I heard there was a music app I installed it right away. After installing the app, I would continuously have to reset it sometimes after less than a minute but sometimes it would play for over 20 minutes before shutting off. After a year, I kind of just stopped listening to the app because it was shutting off more often. I installed the app on my new phone and noticed it was an updated app...AND NOW...no more shutting off! I can enjoy the music with zero interruptions. Thank you for updating and improving the app.

Turned it on by accident and had trouble turning it off. It was my good luck this time that i was alone in the office and no one else was affected by the burst of Khachaturian. i fought back panic and remembered to check the menu on upper left. Bingo. But shouldn't the music stop if you use back button to exit the app?

Works well and is great for traveling outside the Bay Area while remaining tuned-in. The well-crafted photography featuring the greater San Francisco City area is synchronized, in presentation, with the time of day, and the still-images combined with an aesthetically pleasant panning effect. It's background presence seems well-engineered for hours of uninterrupted listening throughout normal device use.
