Hotpads is the best rental app I've used thus far. The search engine is amazing, I wasn't bombarded with three million filters to select in order to narrow my search like ALL THE OTHER APPS. I selected a max price range and number of bedrooms and boom, the info Hotpads pulled in for me to view made me see that maybe I should venture outside of my zip codes. Like most realtors, the number one gripe about the paid listing is how complicated it is to use. Going forward I'll be using Hotpads.

I have been using this app annually when my lease expires. I have found my last couple rentals through hotpads. I like the layout, the ease of use, the alerts, and the fact that the postings are immediate and current. It has remained my favorite place to find local rentals all in one location.

For this last housing search, I used 4 different apps, but quickly found Hotpads to be the best, because it provides more info (including how many people are competing for any given property you'd like to rent). It also has a message center where you can keep track of all the places you contact, and monitor all the communications from various complexes and landlords. Looking for a new place can be a real bringdown, but Hotpads makes it fairly simple and straightforward. Highly recommended!

I like HP is my favorite! I had to learn how to hunt and apply,and hot pads taught me how! Plus they follow up! I was having credit problems, plus no refs, but I found a place through HP I almost got,but I was too slow! Now my credit score just jumped up over 100 pts, and so I know I will find a place now,HP! Realtors don't reply fast enough from hot pads . It's really frustrating to see a listing you've been trying to get for 3 months or 2 months filled an off the market. Then they will text you one email to the hot pads mail and when you ask them a question they have no reply in regards to the listings. Time consuming and very poor service. All I need is yes,no answer that's all simple second response. It made me go on other websites. Now I get quick responses for same listings.

There's a lot of stuff that this does better than other apartment apps, but it's far from user friendly. It is still rife with misinformation from bad posts, often lacks photos at all, and nobody uses the chat feature. I would kill for an app that works better for pets: X dogs and/or y cats. Small dogs defined as 'below x weight' and large and extra large breeds also called out. 4/5 apartments get manually filtered out for 'small dogs:

The only thing I'm having problem with you is I cannot afford anything over $800 and I need a one bedroom y'all keep sending me these matches that aren't exactly matches for me and every time I fill out the filters no matter what I put I get zero matches so I don't know what to do
