Reviews From google play store

It does as advertised but some questionable design decisions and too much monatization makes it a drag to use. Issue 1) neighborhoods. They needed to break up suburbs into smaller pieces so you end up with "neighborhoods" whose names are arbitrary. For example the name of my neighborhood is something I've never heard of in 6 years of living here. The result is you never really know what area people are referring to in their posts. 2) too much advertising. 1 ad per 2 user driven posts.

Very good... Only complaint is the amount of notifications (doubles up through the app as well as emails etc however I am sure this can be turned off or reduced I just haven't looked into it yet) found the app particularly useful for Halloween trick or treating and I love to see people helping each other. It's hard to be in contact with neighbours in a busy city.

I wish this would be seen but it most likely won't be. A feature that should be added is in messages when you send your address it is only veiwable for 1 hour so if the people end up not showing up they don't have your address anymore. Since the address stays it leaves me vulnerable to home break in and such. Just a thought

Great informative app....lots of neighbors on the app...and lots of information being shared about going ons in the neighborhood...and not just gossip...useful information....plus the sales and free stuff , during Halloween there was a "treat map" so we knew almost everyone who was handing out candy and haunted houses....Nextdoor is a time saving wonderful app...

Your board is user friendly and easy to understand. Especially enjoyable is the absence of melicous posts. Your leads do a great job of keeping the feed "G" rated. The information shared on your board is relevant, useful and timely. To know that so many people near me care about our neighborhoods is wonderful. The Public announcements are also welcome. I do enjoy being a member and utilizing your app. Thank you, everyone, for providing a useful and helpful tool. Liz

I thought this app next door was for Neighbors to help each other out, I find out that the third-party hackers are starting to destroy this app, Like Home Advisor. Many Co. making money on other people's hard work. Other than all pop-up ads. This is a great app. There's a difference between sm. business then big commercial companies that sit in a office on their computers dipping into as many pockets as they can . This Rises the cost for our neighbors . Why not just pick up the Yellow Pages

Wasn't able to use. Had to fill out a lot of forms asking for personal info and info about my neighbors. Created my login, but app kept saying my password was incorrect. Requested password recovery twice, but they never sent it. I've heard of this app before so I assumed it was a real thing, but based on my experience it just seems like a scam to collect personal info. I deleted it.

This app would be pretty neat if it worked properly and didn't have limitations to neighborhoods. Any time you want to look at a post or really just look at a different page, you have to sign in again. I created a post about a lost cat, people from other neighborhoods but I couldn't see it because it was in a different area. It's now telling me my password is wrong even after changing it so I just deleted it.

There is no rhyme or reason on how posts are ordered when displayed on in the app. Used to be newest to oldest. Not it just seems to be random. Not very useful and a waste of time trying to determine if new post are available. Also, when mobile notifications are sent to my phone, the posts are not at the top of the list. This makes the notifications pretty much useless.

The idea is there, but it's not executed well. There is no way in the app to easily copy a link of one post onto another post (in the case of say a missing dog, you can't easily share that post to someone who has found a dog). When the push notifications tell me about a post and I click on it, it takes me to the home page where that post is no where to be found. The organization of the app is terrible. It has potential but needs way more.

Forced loop which refused to allow me to use text to verify and also wouldn't allow me to send a postcard to myself to verify. So the app might be useful, but not if you can't get past the verification. My husband could get the app to work on his phone about 30 min before, and I did everything he did, to no avail.

Easy enough to advertise but it takes quite a while uploading more than one photo for each item added to sell. I don't understand why everytime there's a message or notification the app has to be updated though Google Play store first. Whoever is in charge of the running of the app/website should take notice of people who flout the rules of animal advertising!

I love this app. It has allowed me to have my furnace repaired by quickly and very reasonably by Fortune's Knockout Home Improvement and to use the Trick or Treat map to take my grandkids out on Halloween. Also, I am able to look up events/gatherings regarding anything from book clubs to crafts (crochet, soap making, ...) being held in the neighborhood. ❣

A great way to keep informed and social with your neighborhood, including local businesses and events. In a month's time, this app helped me find lost dogs, local contractors, and yard sales. Our community worked together through Halloween's tricky weather, and even alerted us when two individuals were helping themselves to unlocked cars at night. This app's usefulness is dependent on your community's interactions with it, but it provides many ways to get everyone engaged.

Extremely user unfriendly with no support staff. I have been trying to help my elderly mother and my non-English speaking mother-in-law navigate this app and for some insane reason it has merged the two accounts. Even though I have been careful to use their own email accounts and their own passwords. When you select help all you get is an email giving instructions that are hard if not impossible to follow. Half the self help links don't work. My requests for help are repeatedly ignored.

I really like it very much. Keeps you informed about your neighbors. It is a nice way to welcome your neighbors without leaving your house and possibly getting in their way. I would like to update my review and ask whoever made this app to work on it a little more. somebody keeps getting into mine. I changed the password, I reinstalled it, and I reported it, however to no avail. I use malwarebytes, and it detects nothing. whats up with that.?

It's really nice to have a platform that allows me to connected with other people from my neighborhood that I would not have known otherwise. I have received recommendations for local businesses and small business owners, updates on community happenings both good and bad, and was able to post information about my pet in case he ever gets loose so that he can easily be identified. I have found that the conversations are useful, respectful, and informative. I recommend downloading the app.

It is s great site to get to know neighborhood and to hear comments or get recommendations. It also feels safer when trying to sell or buy something. It is a bit hard getting your own neighborhood to be part of it. Seems like if you want to be a member and your next community doesn't object, then you should have a place at the table.

I've heard lots of good things about this app and I'd love to be able to say good things also but I can't even get past opening up an account! I put in the info it asked for but I don't have this "code" needed to verify my address. It says you're supposed to get one in the mail but there's no option to order one! I thought maybe it automatically mails it if you click "I didnt get a code in the mail" but I did this a month ago! Can't use the app w/out it. Tried today, still won't work. Deleting!!

It use to be ok, but a few weeks ago they changed it and it is no longer in time order. Old post with no activity are on top, I can't find new people that sign on to welcome them. Use in our area has dropped drastically as no one can see anything new.

I have downloaded it in the past. It was helpful regarding a post notifying theft in the neighborhood. I uninstalled it because it seemed to be more of a privacy risk than a help. I have since received emails regarding a neighbor demanding a answer from me. I have also received a written invitation to join but there isn't a postmark or return address..just a code good for 7 days. It seems an app wants alot of info but I know nothing regarding who demands info of me. Creepy.

Was pretty excited to try Nextdoor. I downloaded it, and input my address. Next I added an email and password. Now the next step is tricky: it wants your name. So I input my nickname. That's what people call me right? But it says "check your name". What? Ok maybe they checked public records? Maybe they want my full legal name? So I input my name. "Check your name" What? This is where I gave up. I mean really? What?

This app is okay, but it refuses to verify my account until I get a post card sent in the mail! Update: no postcard, but my account was verified and support is being more helpful now. Could really use a 'help' button on the app! Thank you so much, it is much better to use now.

Nice app. Great for keeping up with the pulse of the neighborhood. Would be nice to have a feature the would allow us to message officials: city, county, state etc. The forest and fire service has joined our Hood and it is great to get their alerts and be able to communicate with them

Great idea. However without any publicity it won't get anywhere (there have been other websites and apps that have tried and failed). My local neighbourhood has very little activity - 3 posts in 3 weeks. Oh, and I have two residences but the app only allows 1. So doesn't help much there either.

I live in two different states but can only have one next door app. I downloaded the 2nd nextdoor app and I do get the first few words of my 2nd location but when I hit "read more" it only shows my first app... I'm 74, and this electronic b s is out of my understanding.

This site is a disorganized hard to enter mess. I entered the code downloaded the app, then it asked for my email which was already entered with my code. Will not let me log in because I already have an account? Endless loop . Fraudently obtaining personal information.

This app is great in keeping touch with our neighbours. We can see what is happening in our neighborhood. eg. Coyotes in the area. Facebook connects you based on your relationships with others; Nextdoor connects you with one another based on where you live.

This app wants your address and full name to sign up...I gave my neighbors address about 20 houses down...I like the idea of the app, but have no idea if I can trust it or not (so I literally have to pollute their dataset just to try the app out...smh PMs n Devs) Also, thing just keeps asking me to check my first name and then last name...can't get past the sign up screen in the app because of this..

Can't log in, got an email from nextdoor saying my account has been disabled until I send them a scanned copy of my driver's license. I told them to go ahead and delete my account, because I would not be scanning and sending them anything.

In a society where neighbors rarely wave or in any other way acknowledge each other's existence, I think the "nextdoor* app is a great way to get to know the people in your area. People can express their concerns, ask for help, or find people close by who enjoy the same activities they do. Maybe this will be the new way to organize block parties or community yard sales , so we can all like, maybe meet in person!

I keep seeing the same posts repeated thrice in my feed. Someone will comment on a really old post and it'll shoot to the top of my feed. It's really hard to see the latest posts since I last opened the app. Not really usable for starting up to date with my neighbors.

Posts are never in order. New posts are often below posts that haven't had any activity for days or weeks. As a result, a lot gets missed. Not even worth opening most days, and I'm checking it less and less.

A quick. Informative. I hesitate on 5th star as there are many hesitations, with me at least, OPENING the app. Constantly seeing "There is a problem. Try again later."

Good When it works properly Worked well for months. With latest update, I can't scroll . Only shows 2 or 3 posts. Uninstalled, reinstalled, no difference. And now it tells me trouble connecting, try again. Really poorly executed app.

When viewing recent, older items keep coming up first. That defeats the purpose of viewing by recent. Additionally every few post is an ad. I love this concept for a neighborhood app but it needs work.

When I first joined, the app had 2 neighborhoods I was familiar with. Now there seems to be 6 to 7 that I have no idea where they are. I don't care what's going on 10 to 15 miles from my neighborhood. It takes much longer to check what's going on! I'm disappointed to say the least.

I had difficulty signing up. Once i was signed up i realized i was signed up at the wrong address. There are no edit options. This app isnt user friendly and there are no help option, very disappointing

Cannot log in. I have reset my password multiple times and the site claims my account info is incorrect EVEN THOUGH they sent me a one time sign in code after submitting my username and password. Can't make another account since my email is already registered.

Great idea of an app. I think it's great. There's a lot to build upon but focus more on the neighbors piece. Also, Grant done sort of rep to those that post and have legit credential behind them. Like a gold neighbor or something. But a great app.

Very displeased with this program. I created a page for my business. It will not let me access my own business page. I am unable to locate my business page. When i go to create a similar but different page. I get a notification saying my business is taken. This app and program suck

It is helpful!!! Once in a while you get people that have to have their opinion known and they can't be wrong whether they are not not me to judge. But it's like any other social media but for the most part it is a very helpful.

So far I have nothing to complain about. I like that it's my neighbors and surrounding neighborhoods. It's very resourceful. I hate downloading apps to my phone but I think this one is worth it. It's also easy to use and mostly relevant information.

Wonderful app to stay up to date on neighborhood happenings, lost pets and packages as well as recommendations for services and resturaunts and such. Also if you want to meet neighbors with similar interest and lifestyles this app is a winner!

I love having first hand knowledge of what's going on in my neighborhood, getting recommendations, seeing items for sale & yard sale info. Love this app!

I like the concept of neighborhood social networking. Every community has particular challenges that close by neighbors are able to better address than monolithic global apps. I like the Nest Camera integration.

This seems to me like a helpful mechanism to tie neighborhoods together, like a Neighborhood Watch, and then some. Too many adds, though!

Ok app. Can't view profiles. Keep getting an error saying unable to load on most profiles Some work, some do not. It doesn't seem to be a privacy setting

Nice! Only been hooked up with Nextdoor for a couple of months and I really appreciate the neighborliness (if that's a word) of it all. The app works great and it's nice to be tied in to the neighborhood. Thanks!

A lot of noise, but ultimately a good way to resolve several types of situations and get information about hyper local happenings.

Great app. I very surprised at how friendly everyone is to each other. Some of the neighborhood apps have residents that are pretty mean to each other.

Great source for recommendations re: home maintenance, local businesses, restaurants,lost/found pets, resale posts + photos.I've also seen people being "kicked off" for expressing an opinion on controversial HSV issues. IMO, NextDoor did a disservice to its supporters by limiting discourse. Property owners needed INFORMATION from all sides about critical issues with long term impact on everyone "with skin in the game." ND policy was used for censorship when facts were crucial.

I have been trying to change my address and nothing is working. There is also no way to reach nextdoor that i can find. I love this application think it's very beneficial but I give up.

App works well and good to connect with local community. Not sure about privacy though. I feel a bit weird about people in the forum knowing where i live, maybe a London thing being worried about nutters LOL.

Good app, it's very handy if you're looking for electricians etc and good way to see what's happening in your area as people share news etc good little app!

I cant belive how poorly done the application verification process is. Waiting for the verification in the mail well over 10 days makes my blood boil. Thumbs down. Poorly done.

Great app for knowing what's going on around you and being more social with nearby people! I would love a subcategory under "Hobbies" for interest in electronics and/or video games

Galaxy Note 9 on T-Mobile with Pie. As an alternative to Facebook, you can get to know some people in your local community fairly easy by posting messages and pictures. I will have to use this application for a while before I can write a higher quality review but it initially seems okay. Where is dark mode on this application?

I love it so much because this is the new age village raising there kids on the internet, neighbors meeting each other for the first time, neighbors watching out for one another it's just AWESOME IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE, thanks for creating this app now I don't feel alone anymore because of it ,you all have a blessed day thank you very much and God bless you. Sabrina Wright

Posting seem to have a mind of their own. I can see no consistency in timings of postings - my wife gets them at different times than myself. And, advertising and business postings have become much more prominent.

So far so good. I have used a couple of neighborhood recommendations . Excellent handyman Anthony Santiago and and Dentist Michael Dote DDS in Gardena. On the other side sometimes very negative text. I definitely need to learn more about the next door app.

concept of the app is great however the layout , search format and a number of othet things related to the program itself , really need to be tweaked and a bit more organized

Awesome app. Keeps everyone connected in the neighborhood, informed with what's trending, anyone can ask a question and get answers.

Way too meany " updates " every 3 days is not weekly. And every week is too much. Love being able to connect to my neighbors though.

Nothing in particular, however i love the connection, it allows me to stay up to date with what's going on in the neighborhood! I love it!!!!

Keeping neighbors in the loop, is the best way to feel at home in the area. I love this App! Too bad neighborhood watch doesn't have anything like this.

So much better than Facebook when it comes to local issues, concerns, and best of all lost pets! I've seen so many pets and their parents reunited oh, it makes me happy for all involved!

It was great until people started using it to complain and get political..I think people need to be carefu of what they are falsely and negatively posting it can have devastating consequences. Although, i love the local new and sales

This app is very helpful. You get to find out what is happening in your area. Sometimes you need some help finding a resource or you can be a resource. There are ways to buy and sell. You get to meet new people. Great app.

I have downloaded the app on my phone, everytime I see a post I am asked for my password and do I want to install the app!!!??? REALLY? This is a great site but terrible app monitoring.

Every time I try to reactivate my account I get a password error. I have just reset the password twice and am still getting the error.

I'd give it 5 stars if it didnt give me so much trouble with posting pictures. Sometimes it allows me to post them and other times it doesnt or it will only except one of the three I'm trying to post. Other than that I love staying in the loop with my neighbors.

It should be called gripedoor. There needs to be a different way Leads are selected. Leads can decide what is right / wrong with their only attribute being, they were first ones on in their neighborhood. Nothing else, abuse runs rampant. The ads are every 2nd or third post (some appearing as if they were an actual post from a neighbor) I do like to hear factual things going on in area, the only reason I stay tuned.

Good for getting to know your neighbours and local recomendations. Too much false advertisements in the classified sections. Free things that are not free at all.

Love it! But I tried loading a Surveillance video once and it wouldn't load.? Also, the ad platform cost way too much for local small businesses.

Love it. It helps us know things that is going around our town bad and good and to keep a look out for pets if they are lost.

I've been using this app for a few months now and it's a really good community/neighborhood app. I have gotten help with my inquiries and recommendations. So far, I'm pretty satisfied with it. Let's see what future brings.

It's useful at times. I personally dont need to know what's going on with the same 3 neighbors who post everyday and comment on everything. And you better not Express your self unless you can do it 3 year old language as to not offend any of your neighbors.

Too much personal information. I couldn't even see any features of the app because you need to be fully signed in before even seeing anything.

I love this app! It's a great way to keep informed about the goings-on in our neighborhood. Lost pets, crime, events ECT..

Have requested an invite postcard so many times and have never once received one meaning I've never been able to actually use the service.

Most recent update in Nov 2019 has made the app fail on my Galaxy S7. Main screen just says it cannot connect to NextDoor and shows a "Try Again" button.

Excellent way to keep up with things going on in and around your neighborhood - lost pets, meetings, tips and ratings for home repair companies - a great app

This is a great app, but as a Canadian snowbird I could not access my American home from Canada! Please fix this.

I love this app! So great to chat with neighbors! Local news, politics, questions answered, lost pets, police activity. Find out what's going on....

So far it's been a great app. Fair amount of info provided be responsible homeowners in the community.

This app is great for getting news around about a lost animal or anything important that's going on in the neighborhood. We got our cat back and before this app we would have most likely never seen her again!

Would be better if I could change the notification sound away from the default. And the "timeline" didn't have so many sponsored or ad posts.

Good information, but it will not display in landscape mode. I will uninstall it, because I don't read stuff on my tablet in portrait mode.

Ads are getting out of hand. As soon as one leaves the screen a duplicate takes its place.

I just downloaded the app. Tried to log in after creating username and password. And it keeps telling me either one is wrong and can't log in. Created new password. Didn't work!! Help!!

Next door no longer works. Keep getting error that cannot connect to next door and try again. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix the issue.

If you enjoy a platform to read old people whine about various subjects......this app is for you. Pretty much only good for checking on lost pets.

Where is the sort/filter on recent posts? This topic stuff is trying to turn the app into another social media trashcan. The usefulness of this app has been degraded significantly.

I have to admit I like knowing what's going on in my neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods. I'm not a neighbor who socializes with other neighbors but I like being informed. I like knowing about blocked off streets & detours, when there is trouble brewing (crime), which by the way comes with the extra bonus of quick neighbor responses. Also local garage sales, one item selling, neighborhood events, missing or found pets, neighbors looking for work or looking to hire. I love this app!

I use it all the time! especially for recommendations and have been really pleased with the info and results.

I cant verify my email, I never received an email. The only option is by postcard, but I havent gotten one in the mail and there isnt a button to send another card/email.

The new format is terrible it's very confusing. I've recently posted about it and I seem to not be alone on this. as I stated in my post it's as if you mixed it all together and then threw it up. Sometimes less is more sometimes by adding all new bells and whistles you take away the simplicity and the user friendlyness. Unless your intent was to do so because you got tired of being referees to a bunch of children whose world revolves around their belly buttons !!!

Most recent updates aren't great. I enjoyed being able to switch between recent and top posts. Now its all blended and full of ads.

Great for connecting with neighbors and keeping up to date with local info,if you can overlook other's squabbles.
