Tired of being tracked online? We can help. At DuckDuckGo, we believe online privacy should be simple.

DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser has the speed you need, the browsing features you expect (like tabs & bookmarks), and comes packed with best-in-class privacy essentials:

Tap Fire Button, Burn Data — clear all your tabs and browsing data with one tap.

Escape Online Tracking — automatically block hidden third-party trackers we can find lurking on websites you visit, which stops the companies behind those trackers from collecting and selling your data.

Search Privately — our private search engine comes built-in so you can search the Internet without being tracked.

Enforce Encryption — force sites to use an encrypted (HTTPS) connection where available, protecting your data from prying eyes, like from unwanted snoopers and Internet service providers.

Decode Privacy — each site you visit gets a Privacy Grade (A-F) so you can see how protected you are at a glance, and you can even dig into the details to see who we caught trying to track you.

Signal Your Privacy Preference with GPC — with Global Privacy Control (GPC) built in, you'll invoke your legal privacy rights (e.g., under CCPA, GDPR) by telling websites not to sell or share your personal data by default.

Privacy, simplified.

requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

Allows the app to write to the SD card.

install shortcuts
Allows an application to add Homescreen shortcuts without user intervention.

So far so good. I just started using it and will reserve a more informed review of this search engine/web browser for a later time. All I can say right now is that it's just as fast as the other vastly more popular search engine and no crashes as of yet. Now as far as privacy, who the heck really knows. To be paranoid is best when dealing with anything online.

test There are minor tweaks which could make the app even better. The quality of search results seems to lack slightly. There is an overall difference in creative display in comparison to Google. Give more alternatives to Google products. I believe all these things will come in time when more users get involved. On the whole I like this app and intend to keep on using it.

  3. Matt-avatar

deutsch Very fast and easy to use. I only have two complaints: 1. It's far too easy to swipe to refresh accidentally, which is worsened by the fact that swiping in both directions can trigger a refresh. 2. The browser reports its display size incorrectly when the status bar is visible, which prevents footers from displaying properly on the screen.

  4. lisa monaghan-avatar

    lisa monaghan

windows So far so good, I didn't really think about how much I was being tracked and how often and via which method, which seems to be by all Google mediums. There are some searches that we will all do at some point that don't need to be viewed or known by any other means except yourself and duckduck is great for making sure those searches remain private to you. The layman wouldn't know how to hide their web footprint so they get 5 * from me for that alone.

  5. Bob Morris-avatar

    Bob Morris

windows 10 Last time I tried this it was clunky and difficult to use. After reading recent reviews I redownload it and I am glad that I did. It is now attractive looking and actually works like a browser should. No silly trendy experimental stuff making it difficult to use like Firefox, it is easy to navigate and privacy features are really appreciated.

download I've started using this browser recently after a long break and I am pleasantly surprised by the improvements. It definitely feels like a full fledged browser now with all the functionality I need and expect. It also seems to give more relevant search results than before. That combined with the huge privacy advantages over the competition means I won't be going back to chrome any time soon if at all! Keep up the good work!

  7. Mark Stetson-avatar

for android I love this app! I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's exactly as advertised! We all know that our data gets collected by a wide variety of apps but I never knew it's as rampant as it is! They notify you when they block someone from accessing your data and/or location and they tell you which app was attempting it! I'm thinking about deleting my Facebook and Google accounts because they seem to be the worst offenders by far! Takes time to get used to using this but it's well worth it!

  8. Mitchell Golden-avatar

for mac I love the concept. It's great watching all the trackers being blocked. But it doesn't seem to be doing much to stop non-session cookies. Chrome incognito mode is better for that. Also, as of a recent update, login autofill doesn't seem to be working at all. If they get the autofill back, it would be 4/5, and if they block the cookies, it's 5/5.

  9. Baker_Shop-avatar

app This is a must have app! Forget chrome. This app blocks other sites from your searches and protects your privacy! They respect our privacy and freedom on the internet. Bravo! (P. S. For Developers: I'm having problems suddenly trying to open the app. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it's like it's broke now. Tried clearing the data and nothing still. Lmk what I can do. Thanks!)

  10. Ellen Tonkens-avatar

ios Fine for browsing but sometimes buggy with other app integrations. I have issues with logging into the ikea app, something with the redirect goes wrong. also, the DigiD app doesn't get recognised in your browser. Also, downloading and opening a PDF hardly ever works. It's nice to have a private browser, but it's nicer to have a fully functional one without having to think other apps are broken all the time..

I don't notice any creepy ads popping up like, remember me? You were looking at me, or you bought me yesterday...see you soon! Duck Duck Go browser is good at minding it's own business, maybe (cuz who really knows these days). After using it for some time, it's not obviously spying which is a better searching experience.

  12. iz-avatar

I strongly believe that DuckDuckGo is the best alternative to Google's search engine. It crashed the first time I used the app (I've been using the desktop search engine for a while now) but after an update everything works perfectly! I haven't considered switching search engine since I began using it. Strongly recommend.

What a delight to be able to search for something and not get ads the next five days from every other app opened. For example shoes, then one sees ads in every news service. I've made this my default browser. It returns excellent search results. Greatly appreciated. I should have carefully looked into browser choices a long time ago. Bruce in Dallas.

Fantastic browser that doesn't spy on you or block any of your searches or websites you might want to visit. I was looking for a ln item for the Switch which Google was blocking but with DDGo I find it within minutes. Will be using this instead of chrome. Only issue is the widget. When you go to search you need to do an extra press to start typing. Not a major issue though. Highly recommended for privacy conscious individuals

The app works well for me and what I need and expect from A Browser. It' easy to use and the settings are limited but I like that... This is a privacy browser, it should only have the setting selection it has if it had more, it'd be a very fine line with the privacy promise... I love customising but not at the expense of my browsing privacy. I can't help but think that there's gotta be a better/cleverer name for the browser that is still on brand, is there somewhere I could email about this??

  16. Ryan Collins-avatar

    Ryan Collins

Great privacy features, but the tabs are cumbersome to use (you must click on the tab view before you can close a tab?) and there is no way to enable Desktop Site by default (it always loads mobile versions, which causes a lot of the sites I visit to complain about unsupported browser until I remember to click that every time and then go back to the URL I originally tried, which is super annoying)

  17. Dr A S-avatar

    Dr A S

Google app and chrome were giving me the creeps with those super annoying ads and the stalking. I didn't install DDG with a lot of expectations but I was pleasantly surprised by how efficient this is! It does what it promises, and that's enough. Browsing experience is so smooth. I even like using Instagram, yt and fb on DDG because- Absolutely No Ads! One feature that I love is checking the tracker sites DDG blocked whenever I'm on a site. So creepy, yet satisfying!

  18. La Ha-avatar

I noticed when after I set Duckduckgo as my default search engine, it would show everytime a site was trying to snoop. I liked that. The problem though, was when I would click an email, link, etc. it wouldn't open it, but would launch a page I had been on in Duckduckgo instead. Also, some pages wouldn't scroll correctly or play audio(on a brand-new laptop). Talk about frustrating.

  19. Emily Wilkins-avatar

I do love this app and search engine, yet I do have one concern. When I change the color of the app icon, and the app is on any screen (LG/Android), it disappears after a reboot of my phone. I've tested this many times and it still happens. I'd really like to change the color and have it stay on my screen.

  20. Josiah Rojas-avatar

    Josiah Rojas

I still have issues with the new tab behavior. If you open multiple external links from an email, for example, and then press back to the email, you end up with a bunch of open tabs. On one hand, I get it but wish it were optional. The addition of fireproofing sites while still blocking third party tracking is awesome. Upgrade from three to four stars.

  21. Keith Barker-avatar

    Keith Barker

A superb app which works like a dream. I was plagued by pop ups and highly intrusive adds when using Chrome, to the point it made using my phone a nightmare. After changing to DuckDuckGo this activity became less and less over the the first week. I haven't experienced these activities at all since. I tried this app following a friend's recommendation and have no regrets so far.

  22. Christopher Pilcher-avatar

    Christopher Pilcher

I do not just use DuckDuckGo. I still have passwords saved in Chrome, I still use Firefox for compatibility with certain web features. But this is not a slight against this browser. That I have this set as my default browser speaks volumes. I don't want Google knowing every stupid little thing I open from friends on Telegram. I do not need webassembly compatibility when I'm just reading a few static pages on Wikipedia. DuckDuckGo satisfies the everyman use case, and it does it without invading.

  23. Malcolm Reynolds-avatar

Just installed this app and I love it! Much better than Firefox Focus, and DuckDuckGo has held my trust for years now, so grabbing this was a no-brainer for me. Firefox has lost their way, so it's time to move on. And you can customize the color of the app icon. I've never seen any other app offer that feature. Edit: I just removed a star for the all the DDG ads it puts on sites. Are you serious right now? I'm already using the freaking browser. Why are you advertising it to me?

  24. Kathryn Reinhardt-avatar

    Kathryn Reinhardt

Easy to use. DuckDuckGo keeps data collection at bay, unwanted attention away from your searches, and doesn't filter or drive your results based on search history (which can be a challenge if you don't remember that article, site or reference you found before but didn't "save".) All-in-all a nice change from other search engines not offering this type of service.

It is a good non google alternative. And unlike some search engines I still find whatever I'm looking for on the first page. Without any google ads or tracking. I also like it's browser purge to clear tabs and stuff. I still use mozilla(with non-default settings for more privacy and DDG search) but I find myself using this more and more on my smartphone. Only potential downside would be a lack of history if you wanted to find something you looked up previously but that's by design for privacy 🤠

I feel more confident with my privacy, great search engine! I've only been using DDG for my primary browser for less than a week, and at this point, the only thing I miss that other browsers have is the ability to enlarge what I'm viewing. Now that I've been using the app for awhile, I have the need suddenly to download documents and there is no option for downloading, so I am forced to use another app. 😕

I am trying this after Firefox changed their look, which is a disaster. I have 2 issues so far: First, why can't it set a homepage? Maybe there's a reason, but it's a pain. I have to use multiple clicks every time i launch just to get to a page i choose to see 1st. Similarly, bookmarks are also inconvenient. It takes 2 clicks to pull down the menu, then click bookmarks, to see mine. Why not have a button to go right there, or an option to launch right to your bookmarks?

  28. JAM-avatar

No probs to date. If REALLY does what it says, thanks...can anyone fully trust any company today? We'll see. Stable platform, automatic blocking. One site (Square) would not play well so I had to use Chrome, DuckDuckGo still lead blocked for that site visit even in a different browser. I'll be interested to see if I get less spam and magical buy recommendations...

Just trailing at the moment, but so far it has been pretty impressive. However have only been using it for like 2 days, will need to see how it performs with other tasks I haven't tested yet like running videos through the browser as one example I havent tried as yet. Will report back in about a week, should have a better overall perspective by then. :-)

  30. Jonathan Call-avatar

Great browser to avoid being tracked online and being harassed by ads. My two small complaint are: 1. If I put my phone to sleep the history of a tab becomes lost. For example if I have a complex filter set up on a shopping site and let my phone go to sleep with it open on an item from that search, then I lose the search results page and everything that preceded it. 2. Start pages would be nice. Especially after a 'burn'.

There has been a security breach if that's in fact was the issue with your browser security algorithm. I've noticed the only thing this browser does is block ads and not personally information because while using your browser I got an email after I logged into a credit monitoring website, the email asking was it me that just logged in through a Chrome Web viewer as the connectee . I sent you an email in detail explaining what I got back.

Best app for privacy. It is very fast. But give it 3 because of some reasons that mentioned below. 1. I can not set any web address at interface. Every time I have to write it on address bar. It is little difficult. 2. I can't change default search engine. 3. Desktop mode is not working. Please fix this problem. Overall I like this browser.

An outstanding app! Google's analytics have always concerned me just on principle as well as the targeted ads for my area. DDG does a great job. I tried both it and Google when I was looking for truck tires. I found a great local shop that did my tires for $150 less than any of the Google ads for the same tires. I found it on page 4 of Google. It was on page 1 of DDG. Nowadays, privacy is worth everything. Anything I can do to increase mine is worth it. THANKS DDG!

I just started using it so I don't have much to say. It seems to do what it says it does. The only drawback I have found is that there are no settings for permissions like microphone and camera. so anything that requires microphone or camera permissions online like a televideo visit are out of the question. The upside is that it is very informative on The trackers that it blocks.

This browser is a really underrated one, I prefer DuckDuckGo much more than Chrome or other prominent browsers. Not only because it provides privacy and security, but it has a number of features as in controlling search regions, themes and it's very own search engine (appreciate the !bangs) . The ' fire button ' is a really useful one. However I would like to see the dark theme to be applied to all the websites I visit, and not only the homepage. It'd be much better for the eyes. Thank you

I've been fairly happy with it up until recently. Whenever I try to use the bar to search for something, the bar loads halfway, stays there for a few seconds and then I get a timeout error. I have to restart my phone for it to start working again. Reloading tabs I already have open works just fine but I can't search anything new. Made sure the app was updated and still having the same issue.

  37. Edward Dehelean-avatar

Everything is just as advertised. No trackers and everything is cleared on a click or automatically if you choose it. The one thing that would make it perfect would be to "pin" individual tabs to prevent them from being burned. Like, selecting the tabs that are fireproof, in addition to websites as a whole. Also, if anyone from the team reads this, is the "bookmark" and "fireproof" feature select that specific, individual website, or is it the website as a whole?

  38. Stephen Andrews-avatar

Love it. Just give me an easy way to transfer my chrome bookmarks (I have many, and they are organized into folders) and then I can pull the plug on chrome as much as my phone will allow. (At the very least, I can delete most of chrome's storage and hopefully deactivate the app, even if I can't completely uninstall it.)

I haven't had any problems with this app, it's wonderful. I recommend it if you want a safe, privafe browser, and you don't want corporate grips on your private life (data, search history, and so on). You don't get any weird ads, advertising something that you had a discussion about earlier. This browser is also unbiased, in a time where there's tons of it. TL;DR No problems, private, no creepy ads, no bias. It's amazing.

Used it for about a week so far and have really enjoyed and appreciate it! Just wish there was the ability to do bookmark folders (or at least I'm not seeing it if there is. If there is than I'd give it a 5 star). Also curious about using it on non-phone devices and to learn about Amazon and pinterest browser buttons. I plan to use it full time once I break my habit of using Chrome.

  41. nickthelight-avatar

Burn feature and tab count etc have moved to the bottom of the screen. Here they are obscured by the keyboard. Please return to the top. This feature has returned to the top. Excellent. Please now can you ensure that when a page is 'save to home' the icon is not the DuckDuckGo, rather the relevant sites. Thanks

  42. Tammy Davis-avatar

I came across this app by accident and I read that it didnt take all my information and store it for ads, it didnt take my searches for sharing my likes and information for further purposes of selling my stuff to 3rd parties and I decided to try it...I'm very happy with this app and it's TRUE to its word. I've had NO problems with ad ons amd other parties popping in while I'm using it! Excellent job and a very SAFE FEELING !! Definitely beats GOOGLE !!!

  43. Spencer Kime-avatar

It's a fantastic search engine that protects your data as much as I can and I quite enjoy that, but there is a issue with loading. Most of the to time you have to exit the app and load back into it for it to load properly which kinda sucks but it's something I'm willing to deal with because at this point any search engine will do besides Google and chrome.

  44. Beau Chisholm-avatar

I've only just started using this on my tablet, but honestly so far so good. I realise that the nature of this browser is not to store your information, but i would have liked to be able to see my own history, even if it's just a week or even a few days. But seriously a really great app and such a great concept too, to show you which sites were trying to tract you.

  45. Lumabi25-avatar

In general I don't mind this app, but I'm finding it buggy on my Chromebook. Moving around a page with the trackpad it behaves as though I've "right-clicked" on something, or sometimes it's as though I've highlighted a word on the page. I often can't scroll to the bottom, and reloading the page when scrolling beyond the top of it is annoying.

  46. Douglas Bennett-avatar

DuckDuckGo provides me with, I consider, an excellent selection of search results based on what I have searched for. I appreciate the safe search options provided, that searches aren't kept and DuckDuckGo limits or blocks tracking. This does impact the ability to access some sites obviously demanding more user information, however based on several years experience using it, I highly recommend it.

  47. Aaron Smith-avatar

I prefer duckduckgo b/c I'm not a fan of Google's intrusive manners. If you look at and follow all the default and recommended settings on your smartphone, google will know just about everything you do on your phone and where you are when youre using it. With stories like Alexa turning on people's mics, google might be spying on you through your camera without you knowing it. Privacy is the way to go. I am not keen to the idea of giving google all my passwords, contacts, and banking info.

I have had no problems and all is going smooth after having downloaded the app. and using it as my primary search engine for a couple days now. I will see how it does over the test of time & if its steady as we go then i will make it a five star app. in a final review. Ok now time tested & 5 stars to this app. it has been not only a great scouting search engine but also a warrior standing in defence of my privacy. All for nothing but only to watch a few ads. A war eagle in duck feathers!!!

It's good and it claims to be private, but as I'm browsing and open a site I get a pop up that reads, "your browsing is not completely private" it may not be those exact words but it is telling me what I don't want to hear. So where do I go from here. I'm not out to do illegal task, or enter a dark web so, what is the bottom line? Is there such a thing, or is private browsing a myth? Just curious..... Robert n.

I don't use any search engine other than DuckDuckGo, mobile or desktop. DuckDuckGo is my only mobile browser. It is the best by far. The customization options are good. The automatic clear feature is cool. However, i wish the automatic clear timer was user defined instead of preset options. Also, i would appreciate it if users could change the order of the bookmarks. Both minor complaints. Overall, a great app.

  51. Wispy-avatar

There is nothing wrong with the app I would recommend you use it if your uncomfortable having google watch your every click and information. The reason why I gave it four stars was because I accidentally deleted it when freeing up space. And if it had just gotten rid of all of my tabs I pulled up and all of my bookmarks that would be fine, but because it also deleted the music and my downloads be warned, this app does not save any of your save data, at least not that I'm aware of.

So far, so good; this app has not disappointed! It sends a little message whenever Google is trying to search your info so you feel more protected. Once I've gotten used to the look of it, this app works exactly the same as the more popular option for internet service. Would recommend!

This is a very good app that has reduced the amount pop up ads I have been interrupted with as I navigate through the web. I don't always mind the intrusion when searching for purchases. But, most of the time I am not interested in ads generated when I am researching how migrating giraffes during mating season find their mates.

Fast and secure browser where you won't get tracked. Only improvement to be made would be the ability to block pop ups when using the browser. However, please add the ability to inspect elements/edit HTML. As a person who never uses a computer, the lack of this feature is a big disadvantage. Edit the recent update has made unintentional refreshs of the browser. This is very annoying as you often lose important progress.

I like the concept of still getting relevant ads without the need to keep track of everything I say or do in my searches. The app feels very similar to the Chrome app, although it is a little bit slow in comparison. I wonder whether it would be possible to have a setting to automatically reject those annoying accept/reject cookies messages from websites. Otherwise, great app/concept.

The concept is 5 stars, though, the refresh system is irritating. I'll be scrolling down a site and instead of the usual "swipe from the top down" refresh system. It will do it when I reach the bottom. How the frig am I supposed to know when the bottom of a page is meant to occur? I finally get to the part I'm after right at the bottom n boom refresh, start looking again. Oh sorry did you not remember exactly where the bottom of the page was? Refresh, do it again hahaha lasted 1min b4 uninstall

I stopped using Chrome because it constantly ask for proof that I am a human user because I use VPN. I like DDG, but the constant reappearance of the address bar even if am only scrolling upward. When the address bar reappears it constantly showing a "G" icon with an animation that crosses out the G, then the G disappears. Please do it just once. I don't need to see it many times while viewing the same page. If you cannot effectively hide the address bar while up-scrolling then make it static.

Loving it so far. Have been a long time FF user until "Daylight" threw me into the Dark Ages. The DDG browser is doing what it is suppose to; letting me browse. Whereas FF has failed miserably recently. I have used DDG to verify all sites that FF choked on are indeed working fine. The issue was not the site or my phone. It was FF. That said, DDG folks; please resist the temptation to implement a never ending expansion of "features". That will be FF's downfall, like so many before them.

I love the privacy of the app and for the most part I have a smooth experience, but it would be nice to have some kind of download manager integrated into the app. Downloading on the app is a pain and sometimes I just resort to Chrome to download with. It would definitely bring my review to 5 stars

The app used to be pretty good but became almost useless over time, at least for travelers. Whether you search for places, accommodations or restaurants, all you get is very repetitive marketing garbage and hype from the major "travel" sites. You have to go down pages and pages to get to the info you want while Google often displays the info on the first page. Have informed DuckDuck several times but no improvement, as a matter of fact the searches got only worse and more useless over time.

I've been using DDG for about a year and a half. As sites and devices get more and more intrusive, the more grateful I've become for its added privacy protections. Occasionally it trips up payment transactions and I haven't taken the time to figure out how to circumvent that without going to a different browser, but I'm still a very satisfied user.

As a rule of thumb before rating any app as I would think most people would do the same and that putting it through it's paces, as for this app I have not had any problems with it there were some concerns as to it " having some DNS leakage and deeming it not as private as some have been lead to believe I on the other hand have been very happy with ( duck duck go) and content to keep using it....

HI,I really like using DDG,but the reason i only gave it four stars, instead of five,is because when i go on a site, there are pieces of the page dosn't load, but if i disable the privacy protection,it loads the paige fully,is there a reason why,and anything i can do to fix the problem, but other then that,DDG is a very good engine, when i need privacy,DDG is the engine i turn too,Thanks for such a great product GREG

I liked the fact that I wasn't being tracked every time I hit the search bar, but it did make search speeds a little slower. I thought it was just my phone at first but then I tried Google and it was quicker. I still love this search bar and continue to use it. Good app!!!

Great app, have been using now for several years on various tablets and laptops. Does everything it claims to, is far superior to Chrome and Google and unlike them you know that no one is keeping track of the sites you visit (like silly cat videos) nor for how long. Truly a great app in an age when it seems every app or site is designed to track your every move and hand that information to the USA government, looking at you Google caught red handed and WE don't even live or work in the USA. A+++

This app is a must! You wouldn't think that a simple Google search could kill a phone's performance, and yet here we are. After ditching Google and Chrome for DuckDuckGo I can actually use my phone again! No more trackers slowing down every single interaction and harvesting your data. Just browsing as it should be!

Love DuckDuckGo. Kind of a weird name but whatever works... right! Only one thing bugs me that I would like the Developers to fix. I would like to keep my Bookmarks in separate folders. It keeps everything more organisedised instead of just having one very, very loooong list that you need to scroll down through.

I would've given 5 stars because it performs as advertised, but I couldn't justify doing something like that when there is no capability to IMPORT/EXPORT BOOKMARKS!!! From Chrome or FireFox. I'll amend my rating when or if that happens, but until then it's a 3 from me. Really, I almost gave it 2 but too good an app and browser for just 2 star rating, so 3 it is! Please add the import export feature. If I were developing a browser that'd be one of the first things to come to mind

Some of this privacy protection goes too far, cuts in too soon. Trying to make a payment something goes wrong so one has to hit the back button to return to the site's checkout. But do so and the whole thing goes. Not only no checkout but no indication of which site you'd found to order from and no way to find it or get back. All painstakingly entered data lost. Not even a forward button. Such clearance should be under user control and only kick in when the user has clearly left.

The back page, forward page and refresh are inconvenient as well as getting a new tab. Day 1 of using the app and love the customization of it. The different colours, fonts, oh I didn't know web browsers could actually be personalized like this. I'm hoping this browser actually does what it claims and is private and secures my data so big corporate can't make as much money off me for free. 4 stars cause nothing is perfect and I'm sure I'll find a flaw sooner or later. Thanks for the customization on the app, I now have a personalized web browser.

Amazing to see the number of sites blocked from tracking me. And especially moved away from Chrome to DuckDuckGo when my kid started to get explicit notifications on Chrome, though I had set him up with his own email ID(as a kid) and it had all the restrictions for a kid and though I had blocked the notifications from Chrome.

After installing duckduckgo, google started to interfere with your app.Having read that ddg uses bing for it's search engine, I then disabled chrome and google. At that point, android waged war on duckduckgo. It made it run super slow & would flash the "results" page, but not let it establish it's self. Frustrated, I would minimize the flashing page. When I checked it later, page was there. As soon as I clicked for further action, the flashing would begin again.I re-enabled google & DDG works.WOG!

You can't install an ad blocker like Firefox. The desktop site button doesn't work. You can't rearrange tabs. If another app opens a tab and you back out of it, that tab will not close itself like it should. And you can't change where it saves downloads. Edit: 4 months later, none of these fixed.

Nice app, very handy. I use Duck duck go search engine every day. Cool to see they incorporated it into a web browsers also. Could be better if I was able to swipe to delete a tab in the tab view. Would be nice if back button closed current tab after backing out of all previously viewed pages. EDIT: I can now swipe left or right to delete tabs. The back button now closes current opened tab and returns me to the previous opened tab. Very nice improvements.

Fast, but can't block annoying ads and no tools for managing or export of bookmarks. Add an export option for bookmarks or an option where we could sync bookmarks with an online/email account. Privacy is at the core of DDG. I would never get ads for things I read or search on DDG. The only reason I rate Duck Duck Go 4 stars is, The app lacks an option for a email address. I looked into it and couldn't find it. I truly appreciate the fact that DUCKDUCKGO alerts me with certain apps trying to track my inquiries, doesn't sell or use my info and keeps my info private. I'd really love to have a DUCKDUCKGO email account to feel really secure in my daily affairs . If there's any reason why DUCKDUCKGO doesn't give an email option. HONEST non biased search results - Thank you very much... DuckDuck Needs a search box interface that appears ALL THE TIME. I hate initiating a search from the http Line - always cluttered with left overs. Also the http line from the last search does not clear itself. I end up having to open a new tab to get a clear typing line on the http line... This not NOT a good design. Not Handy... Always something in the way that I have to clear or open a new tab to do a new search... VERY UNHANDY.

Great browser, fast, safe and secure 🔐. But needs so much improvements like, including FREE VPN, more integration with Facebook and Google as many FB features are not accessible using this browser. Please include FREE VPN on your browser that is your major weakness.

I like the app a lot and really appreciate my privacy. Love that it tells me how many trackers were blocked, but it doesn't let me use my microphone to voice record. If that were changed, it would get 5 stars

Updated 10/11 bc said "bug fixes", instead of fixing, it introduced bugs. Icons beside saved urls are from other pages. Loading pages hang. Will not access pages. Since I have quite a few saved urls I don't want to delete & reinstall app. Annoying!

Would still love to see a phone and products from this group. A phone with a browser and programs that respect privacy would be a huge hit in my book. The reset on the widget was aggravating. It is supposed to be fixed now.

9/25/20Not loading, freezes, too slow.Tried to ID mystery icons; no help/ instructions Poor support at other companies isnt a good excuse to follow suit. The intro help wizard lacking substance. Try INDEXING: proven for hundreds of years to work well. other device hates DDG 8/25/20 I'll still use DDG engine, but in another, working, browser..... Uninstalling 7/11/20

Overall great, but quite laggy sometimes. It glitched over and over when I tried to view all the tabs I had. 52 tabs seem like a lot, but most of them are just image links anyway. Had to remove all data and tabs to restart it.

I like the search engine but it needs a way to type using the mic instead of physical typing. Perhaps there is a way but I haven't figured it out yet. People with physical handicaps are limited in typing ability.

I hate giving ratings. The request to review will pop up, then you have to divert from what you are doing to rate your experience. It's a pain in the rear. An app ir service has to be enough of an extreme to justify me doing something I don't like to do. DDG has been extremely good to me. I get relevant and non skewed search results, plus privacy. DDG deserves the 5 stars and the time it takes to give them and leave a review.

I love this app so much. My friend told me to use this and when I first used it I fell in love I love how it blocks your history and stops the scamming. THIS APP IS PERFECT. This is the only search engine I use for my phone and computer.

Love the app. Just one tiny request... When you press the widget on the home screen, if it could have the option to automatically go into voice text and if typing using swipe method, if spaces would be placed between the words. Thanks!

I've only started using this app, but so far, so good! Really impressed with this browser already, it is amazing to see the amount of tracking it blocks (and which I was totally unaware if using other browsers).
