Really tested this app to see its capabilities. Good so far with some complaints. It doesn't block pop ups very well. Pop ups get through as another tab opened in the background. I haven't found a setting for that yet. Also, backing out doesn't bring you to the original search page, which sucks. Playing videos within the app won't allow for auto landscape/portrait adjustment. Overall, the app is ok, but I would really like to see more improvements.

  2. KK Rohit-avatar

test Great App with best privacy features. LOOKING FORWARD TO USE IT FREQUENTLY. Will also use on my laptop and other devices. Feel very secured while browsing, as well keep well informed about who tries to spy on. Great great features to protect the user's privacy and let user to experience the safe & worryless browsing. Highly recommended to everyone.

  3. Beth Jessup-avatar

windows 10 I really like this app & the search engine works quite well. I also like all the security features you offer & the fact there's no ads. I recommend you to everyone I know. There are a few minor things I'd like to see fixed/changed... Backing out of a new tab doesn't return you to the original page, but keeps you on the new tab. It would be nice for it to save logins & passwords. Those are minor issues... Being able to search & find what I'm looking for is great!

  4. Project XVII-avatar

windows Pros:- Keeps things private, blocks any unwanted trackers and the overall layout is simple and easy to use. Cons:- The tabs can be slightly irritating to use, for instance, I was browsing yachts, went to view one in a virtual setting and as soon as I had finished viewing, I tapped to go back to the site and it just yeeted me back to DuckDuckGo's search page. Would be great if that could be fixed. Overall:- A very good alternative to Google and other search engines.

  5. Pertinent Information-avatar

    Pertinent Information

download Better than brave. My only complaint are the icons used to detail the tracking companies/sites. Some of them do not appear in the drop down menu (when you click on the grade given to the page your looking at) I recognize the google, fb a couple of others. It would be very nice to be able to not only look at (display ALL trackers) but have a brief description of what they are collecting. That would be ideal. Overall great tool and keep up the good work.

apk download Its AWESOME! Ever since i saw that add i was really scared. But now i feel safer so no one can get my information! I wish there could be some button i could press that said "Thank you!". Although it does take a little to load but it's very fast to download and search! It even gives you an option to have it automatically open everytime you go on your phone! Some people may not like that but it's pretty cool. I like this app a lot! If your reading this, Thanks duckduckgo!

  7. Taranjot Singh-avatar

app Great browser for piracy needs. I see a lot of reviews saying it needs more features but this browser is not trying to be a primary browser. I think its great because it does not have any of my info. I would use this as a secondary browser to browse sites that I would prefer to not track me and for searching products that I don't want Google to keep tabs and start showing me ads for.

  8. Keyser Soze-avatar

for mac I absolutely love it! I noticed a few years back that Google was not being diverse enough during research and it's gotten worse over the years. Far too tailored to what it thinks i want to see. Imagine going to a library and the librarian only let's you read what they think you want to read..oh yea, and then when you try check out they try sell you everything under the sun based on what you have read..BORING! I highly recommend that if you want the true internet experience use Dickduckgo.

deutsch Good...but could be great!! This browser mis-navigates websites sometimes, when you press the back button once or twice, and for no reason, takes you to a new tab, thus you lose what you were doing on the previous page, with no way to return. The Forward or Back buttons in the navigation pane do not help. Pros to this app however, is that it is safe, secure, and fast!! It will be good to have its multi-threaded/multipart download system, and possibly more aesthetic designs added in.

  10. Gareth Peel-avatar

ios This is a great app! It definitely blocks all those trackers and spyware that you would associate with Google. My usage speed has decreased somewhat, however, hence the four stars. Also, it's a power hungry app and it drains the battery quite fast. I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem...? UPDATE: I've discovered it is not this app that was draining my battery. Another app was causing the problem. Five stars :)

  11. Thomas Appel-avatar

Great concept, a few bugs. On the Galaxy S8, youtube vids don't always flip horizontally correctly (creates tiny video in the corner) and the keyboard doesnt always come up when typing in text boxes. Additionally, there's no refresh button, so reloading pages to skip ads requires navigating to the address bar and manually refreshing it. However, I'm sure these things can be worked out in future updates. Personal things: No homepage option and settings are limited.

  12. Gaurav Maurya-avatar

I have been using this for 3 years and one thing I know for sure that this browser is Better than other browsers especially in terms of PRIVACY .If privacy is your preference then this is what you are looking for. Don't judge this at the very first day it's take some time to get to know this browser or getting familiar with.Edward Snowden recommend this browser! if you don't know him search for his name you get the idea.

  13. Mur Đ-avatar

Best browser I have ever used. To make it flawless, it's activity can be made hidden (sandboxed). (not to awake other processes waiting for the browser use). But , clearly, my browsing experience is already perfect; firstly the device never heats up and it never crashes or stops while loading. These are so valuable for the user side, thank you..

  14. Vladimir IV-avatar

I've used DuckDuckGo for years. There was a period of time I didn't use the phone app, and that was mainly due to me being on the computer most of the time or not on the web at all. I got DuckDuckGo again when I changed phones and I gotta say, I loved it before but it had been improved majorly since I last used it. It's a no brainer that you should use DuckDuckGo if you are surfing the web. Doesn't matter what you're looking up or doing, DuckDuckGo is the right choice.

  15. Andre Bezanson-avatar

My experience with DuckDuckGo has been great so far. Coming in I had spent far too long trying over and over again to setup other browsers to stop tracking. As an example I just wanted to turn off the search history and stop the history list that would popup in the search bar. I couldn't get this to happen dispite toggling the settings for it. The fact that the history remained after toggling settings to turn it off made me lose all trust in the other browsers. DuckDuckGo hasn't done that.

  16. Blasphe May-avatar

I'm very much enjoying using DDG for actually private browsing. It is of a classic style, so you can go from any basic browser straight over to DDG without confusion. I also really love the fire button next to the address bar giving me the ability to instantly close all tabs and delete my history with just one button press. I would perhaps consider moving it somewhere where I'm less likely to tab it by accident, but other than that I am very happy with DuckDuckGo.

  17. Inferno Dragon-avatar

I really love what you guys are doing for the safety of our privacy. The search engine works very well, there are absolutely no ads, and you don't even have to pay a cent. It's a free, advanced, and more secure VPN. There is literally 0 point in not using it. Honestly, this should be used way more often then it actually is. 5 STARS

  18. Derk Scholtz-avatar

I appreciate the fact that it limits the information forfeited to sites when I use it, but for many sites, that's the deal: They give you information, if you give them yours. This means that, quite often, Duck Duck Go is blocked. I haven't found a easy way for DDG to facilitate this transaction. Right now it seems like you just get blocked?

  19. Felix Egbo-avatar

Best browser experience for me. My low RAM device of 1Gb often became unusable when using the builtin Chrome and other popular browsers I have used because I do a lot of multitasking. Which includes editing websites which most other mini browsers could not do. With this after disabling Chrome because it can not be uninstalled, RAM consumption is very low compared to Chrome and the likes. Yet gaining more privacy. Thanks Duckduckgo developers.

  20. Robert Davis-avatar

It bought where, which I really like. But what I like more than anything else is the fact that it gives me search results that are unbiased. The other day I was trying to look up an old christain TV serieson chrome. 8 Ball everything up except for any Christian TV series no matter how hard I looked. I remembered someone recommending duckgo, downloaded it, Did a search using the exact same wordings that I had used prior, and there was first thing, along with many others that were Christian based

  21. Rick Bowers-avatar

The app feels like it's doing what the maker claims. I have to trust that these claims are truthful. How can I actually prove that data and tabs are fully deleted? Still a pleasant experience after months of use on iOS and Android. I enjoy the lightweight and speedy feel of the minimal menu layout. Even runs fine on my old and wheezy Nexus 7 tablet. Update: Still loving it

This seems like a pretty solid start for a different web browser that doesn't track you. Needs some work here and there such as importing from other platforms (I haven't seen that option yet), Saving of login and passwords, etc. Progress takes time though. I'd like to see this become a true contender for a certain Google web browser. I'm still getting used to it and its differences from Chrome. So far I like it. Will keep using it.

Good, but bookmarks can't transfer have to do each and everyone manually, to even have my bookmarks with you. On screen search still in bar only. And it seams you prefer Amazon. I search for something and you mostly 70 - 90% of the time show items from them. Are you getting kickbacks for the big places? Amazon (& Prime), eBay etc?

  24. Julie-avatar

I like it! For those asking about the flame. The tutorial told you the flame wipes everything you searched for. Just press it. I do it each time I'm finished reading or searching. Previous review: I noticed that when I was trying to login back in 2019 to my Dropbox from DuckDuckGo it sent me an email asking me if it was me and it had the time, date and the words "Chrome Mobile" Why if I'm using DuckDuckGo did it say Chrome Mobile? I don't use Chrome or the app to search. Maybe android is chrome.

  25. Maya Lea-avatar

I'm enjoying my Cloak of Invisibility. I tried Firefox for search privacy but would have needed to tweak a lot of things. This app lets me keep everything I had already set up in the Google suite (Gmail, Calendar, screen settings, etc.). It was extremely quick and easy to install on my PC and my Android phone. So far, so great!

  26. Linda Ford-avatar

Love duckduckgo app as it takes up less room than Chrome who don't seem to realize that everyone DOESN'T have smart phones with tons of space! Not only does duckduckgo use less space but it's also faster than chrome! Just one suggestion, would it be possible to have a home button? As it stands either I have to keep hitting the back arrow or close out that page completely which is kind of a pain in the butt. Other than that duckduckgo is the BOMB!!!

  27. Michael Verdugo-avatar

    Michael Verdugo

For the quick secure task of going online. You are notified about the trackers that are following you and the burn button is super helpful. this app is in my top downloads and it's not full of extraneous features like some other good browsers and I am glad it's available for download.

  28. Michael Hutcheson-avatar

    Michael Hutcheson

The best search engine in the world. By FAR. Easy to use, good search results, privacy-focused with no ads. What more can you ask for? With that said, the developers of this app need to fix the "backing out" function of brand-new opened tabs (not exactly sure how to define this) when tapping the "back" button because it doesn't actually take you back to the previous tab. It just remains as a new tab awaiting imput. Minor issue so 5 stars.

  29. Sonny Tassone-avatar

Superiore. Capo di tutti capo of search engines. Google, Mozilla nor Edge have anything close to this. Now after this write-up above, months have passed, no spamming popups and tracking cookies. I might add the newest release of Microsoft Edge has just released a new version and it surpasses every other toolbar MS has done to date.

  30. Gene Clayman-avatar

After using this Engine since 4/20/20, I've come to really appreciate this 'well coded' & seamless application product. Now all that's left is to maintain it & ... no 'face lifts' please. Change doesn't always mark improvement. This is an honest assessment of my experience with Duck Duck Go. Thanks, Gene 😎.

  31. Beth Jackson-avatar

It's the best browser because it blocks all invasive species of internet "looky lou's" that can haunt me with all of their ads, et al. It gives me an extra feeling of confidence to know that I can go to my high security sites and not leave an imprint or internet trail for hackers to find & use. And DuckDuckGo is a search engine that rivals the best. I've been using DuckDuckGo for about a year. I definately give it a five star rating!

  32. Matt Cassar-avatar

I've read so many reviews from so many sources (both biased and unbiased) and have used it myself for months now. Undoubtedly one of the best browsers for security, along with Firefox and Tor (each have their own pros and cons). They keep their promises and have had no ads (or at least, they have been vastly reduced and not as accurate as before) related to my searches whatsoever, meaning what they say is true.

  33. T. Hall-avatar

Would prefer a home screen with a search field other than the address bar. I guess I'm a bit old school. I would prefer to keep the address bar visible at all times, but I can't find any option to allow that. Also, backing out of tabs doesn't work to go back to a previous screen. Instead, when backing out of a link opened in a new tab, I get the home screen on the new tab rather than the tab I left so I must individually close tabs.

  34. Lucy Bowen-avatar

I love this app! Yes it takes a little bit longer to find what you want on the search engine but it's a pretty small price to pay since it's not harvesting your data. It also tells you what sites have attempted to track you and automatically blocks them. Everyone who is concerned about their privacy should use it!

  35. Lee Edgar-avatar

A couple of things that I don't like.. when I click a link a new tab opens which is fine but when I'm done with said tab and press back it minimises the app. Instead you have to close the tab and then choose your previous one. Can pressing back just take you to the last tab?? Secondly, I'm in the UK and search results are never local. Presumably US related results. Other than that it's all OK.

  36. Robert Eddins-avatar

I am getting used to it. It is a little different. So far every subject I asked it to search for was found. So I will keep using it. Privacy protection is a big deal, nice to have a safer search engine. The more I use it the better my cell phone.s chip reacts to. It.s nice to have something that does not WANT something from you!

  37. Belleville Heart-avatar

    Belleville Heart

It's easy to use. I haven't had any issues. It notify me if I'm being tracked and blocks them🤗. You can still use your favorite websites using their server. It Will let you know if there is any sneaky action happening, I love that. I will definitely let my family, friends and co-workers know about this app👍👍👍. This is something you wouldn't regret. You can still use your Gmail account but use their browser. Again it blocks snooping that apps be doing without you knowing. DuckDuckGo 💯💯💯

  38. Mils D-avatar

So far so good. 5 Ducks from me. This app does what it says on the tin and will only improve as it gains more downloads and users across platforms. I do not really notice any increase in page load times and even if there was a slight increase, I'd take that for the extra privacy it affords. If it can take a good chunk of market share from Google it will be a good thing for all. Competition breeds better products and services. DuckDuckGo is now my default for the foreseeable. 🦆🦆👍

I have been hacked & traced online & began getting cyber attacks & ransomware. This search engine was suggested to me by someone who experienced the same. I love the cute messages telling me they're blocking attempts to track me. I deleted Google & now use this search engine exclusively. Some things I would like differently is the ability to share memes & gifs to social media as well as the ability to go back to the previous screen.

  40. Thicc Penguin-avatar

I use this browser and a vpn as a alternative to Tor. This used to have a huge prn problem which made it so turning of the safe search option showed stuff that appeared to be illegal when in stuff like gifs. This problem has seemed to be fixed and now i can watch or view anything knowing that it isn't being passed around like a dinner plate.

  41. Caleb Stark-avatar

Very useful browser. I love that it has a little fire icon next to the search bar that burns all tabs and history at once. That button has helped me cut down on how much time i waste browsing the internet. I just click it before I close the app; then next time I log on i dont get distracted by yesterday's rabbit trails

  42. WOOSH_POLICE-avatar

well when I'm on specific sites that when I click the video to play it sends me to other sites but I can easily just remove them by closing their tabs. But here the sites comes in the same tab as the site I was on which makes it difficult to go back till I reach it and have to re-search the whole thing again. would be great if you added tabs above so I could easily close redirected ones. Update: they fixed it!! Great browser!

  43. Pheonix and The Fool-avatar

    Pheonix and The Fool

GREAT : The only things that I could see in the way of improving-ability, would be along the lines of one possible (among OTHERS) "sandbox"-like scenario; with a few more refinements, and a small-to-significant increased user-friendly interface and significant amount of options, customization, wide-ranging adaptability : various levels of "trust " / for places of membership / and/or frequent use : a kind of multi-level "sandbox" / isolation.

  44. Robert Wright-avatar

Solid app. Much faster than Chrome, and seems to naturally block some advertising. I'm definitely seeing fewer ads as I browse. Would like to see more organization options for bookmarks ie subfolders and order sorting/manipulation. Currently bookmarks are in a single list arranged in the order they were made and not movable.

  45. Siena Trigiani-avatar

I downloaded DuckDuckGo on all of my Android devices, and I'm quite enjoying it so far. I feel a lot more secure nowing that DuckDucGo blocks trackers and deletes my browsing history when I close the app. It is very fast, straight forward to use, and very accessible with the TalkBack screenreader for blind and visually impaired users. However, I'm only able to give it 3 stars as it's missing a very important feature - the ability to synchronize bookmarks across multiple devices. Please include!

  46. newworld order-avatar

If like me you've found covert cov19 software from Google on your phones Google operating systems tracking you. Settings.... Google have a look, and marketing offers related to a conversation Google has listened into on your phone recently and not something you've searched. Duckduckgo is a great alternative! Until I can get rid of Google altogether. I will Never knowingly buy Google services or products again.

  47. Jethro Deemz-avatar

Fantastic app. Has completely surpassed Google in every way. This app allows you to see unfiltered search results without showing you biased content based on prior searches as Google and other engines do. DuckDuckGo does exactly what it says; provides privacy while browsing. It also has cool features like shortcuts to websites, a burn button to erase searches and cookies, and more. Also shows you the companies that are attempting to track you in the search bar. Sad I didn't switch sooner! 10/10

  48. Joel Bayan-avatar

Overall I trust what they say about privacy, others have told me the same. Some even mention Firefox. But I think any browser you use is going to be compromised. Hackers are working 24/7 around the clock to commit fraud. I don't like how you can't your track your own history for yourself and too many open widows that are inconvenient to get back to on mobile device.

  49. William Korp-avatar

I like it as an alternative to chrome etc. Sometimes a curated search result can be helpful. But generally I prefer not to be tracked. So I use this app without any issues 75% of the time. I have been using it for about 2 years now and performance and features continue to improve.

  50. Michael C-avatar

So far, so good. Not only does it hide my online footprint (well, not 100% but much better than most), it also does not 'hide' articles (like google does) that they do not agree with. Try doing an internet search using this app, it brings up waaaaay more articles tailored to you specific search or interest...even if duckduckgo agrees with your opinions or not.

  51. Dory Scott-avatar

I Like It - Searches have rendered more varied items. I've noticed a big difference in my Facebook feed since switching to DuckDuckGo. I'm seeing articles from Friends I've "Liked" in the past. Apparently FB & Google & perhaps even MSoft are coordinating their efforts to squash "thought" they don't like. You'll have to get used to how DDGo works but it's really no problem at all. THANK YOU DuckDuckGo for protecting my browsing privacy!!!

  52. Luis Batista-avatar

I don't know if this is based on chromium but i loved it so smooth so light so private You are navigating and it tells you the trackers that were blocked I'm doing battery live tests The only thing, believe it or not, that i miss is a history because sometimes you are navigating and there's a specific link you want to revisit and you either didn't add it to Bookmarks or closed the app and lost it before you can realize An option to start and STOP recording a local history would be grat Overall score: BYE BYE CHROME

  53. Mia Koenig-avatar

So far so good. I'm not web savvy, but I have not had any problems. I tried a different app prior to this one, but the ads actually made it difficult to navigate and my tablet was acting wonky until i removed that app. No issues like that ( or any others) with DDG.

  54. ssuvansh 051-avatar

The best browsing experience I ever had. The tracking information that it provides makes it even better. I just feel relieved with the security. Thank you and keep it up. This app is a small but crucial step in the process of democratisation of internet and I salute the effort of the developers for that.

  55. Cheryl Cady-avatar

I have not yet been able to apply this app to my needs. Now in theory I love the idea. So, if there could be a step by step instuction manual that could help me out, that would be good.6/19/2020 I love this app! I feel as if someone is looking out for me, not Biggie's Google. Facebook Cloud.... Etc, etc. I have told my friends about it, they'll be joining soon. Thank You, Cheryl Cady

  56. Tracy Venus-avatar

I LOVE this app. They let you know when others are tracking you ??? They dont use keywords in algorithms and social media and the like to Target you for advertisement their advertisement is basic it may be relevant to your basic searches and it's Google that coined the phrase conspiracy theory because there is something called the internet police The Big G and Mr Z are In Cahoots they use algorithms and keywords to Target you for advertisement their permissions are invasive!!!

  57. Lani L-avatar

Like having this option for a private search engine. NOT happy that Google is dominating our LIVES. Have found that going to another "search" requires I delete the page I'm on to start the search. Takes time to learn a new system and obviously Google has been our school for browsing. Will try hard to stick with this service!

  58. Donald Yates-avatar

This browser seems to be working. I'm not getting the ads for the products I search for on Facebook. 4 stars because the back function doesn't work correctly. Pressing back once occasionally sends me back to the duckduckgo tab or closes the browser regardless of how many webpages I have clicked through.

  59. Jacob BD-avatar

Love this browser, I cannot go back to regular web browser after enjoying clean websites with no ads. It is quite amazing how many ads are on some websites. The searching function is not the best and sadly I have to use Google search from time to time but no big deal.

  60. Teresa Spicer-avatar

I've been using DuckDuckGo as my default browser on my mobile for over a year, and I'm very happy. Although not as safe as Tor, unlike Tor, DuckDuckGo will run on my mobile without crashing it, and I've never run into a page that won't load. (Happens regularly with Tor on my computer.) DuckDuckGo is a perfectly adequate all-purpose browser going a step back toward the anonymity of the "old" internet.

  61. Stuart Leslie-avatar

I installed this on my android phone which already had two installed browsers. DuckDuckGo is much faster than either, and has very little lag, while both the other browsers were very slow both to load and navigate a website. I was very frustrated with the ready installed browsers but this is as fast as my computer (also DuckDuckGo) if not faster in some cases. I think its brilliant.

  62. Sonya Walker-avatar

I have had no issues using this and it's no different for me except a very HUGE piece of mind with the PRIVACY. There isn't a voice command with this that I know of but I dont care anyways. Half the time voice recognition doesn't work and I have to type anyways. Good Job Duck Duck!

  63. S P-avatar

Why is this sending me notifications when background data is turned off. How is it fetching this info if it's set to BG data off in SYSTEM SETTINGS for this app? Privacy my axx. Haven't used this app in 3 days, yet there it is, just like every other stupid app in Google Play. You developers are all the same... It's all $$$.

  64. James Helton-avatar

Like the app, but it needs maps, etc. If I'm giving up the notoriously leftist Google, I don't want to press "directions" on Duck and it automatically go to Google Maps. Needs work guys! Let's be TOTALLY independent of Google! I know you'll get there in time. I'm already telling friends to "Duck it!"

  65. Christine Dragoo-avatar

Wonderful alternative to Google. Really nice to have a non creepy search engine. Google has pushed the envelope way too many times. Thankfully we still have some choices left. Never in the history of the world had one company had as much power as Google does, we need to take it back. Duck duck go is great first step. Too bad Google didn't stick to their original Creed to "Not be evil", when you look at what they are doing in China, it gives you a very clear picture of where they r headed here.

just about good enough to use but has some usability issues.______ pro: good for privacy. as fast as others.______ cons: no forced zoom option for pages. it's sometimes difficult to scroll down a page without 'accidentally' clicking something. when scrolling down you often get a warp speed movement. if a link opens in a new tab then you click back it doesn't close that window and return you to the original tab. you can't highlight text in Facebook to copy

The app does what it is told and works pretty well. The only problem I sometimes face is the fact that when ever I hit the back button and try to type in the search bar, the keyboard doesn't pop up. This does not happen when I touch the search bar on the top of the screen so I don't know if it is suppose to do that or if it's just my phone. Besides all of that I still thinks it's a really good app.

A client told me about this app. I'm putting it to the test and so far no problems. I enjoy browsing without all the xtra pop-up ads. Plus the other bells & whistles allow ones & ones to be better informed re: what info can or cannot be transmitted/transferred/stolen/sold to 3rd party entities🤗.

It's a great browsing app. It's simple and gets what you want. It also keeps you secure from invasive ads which tracks you across the internet. Like why? Is that even necessary? Just use this to buy things, so you don't have see the ads from the places to visited.

little slow but site has improved greatly since i started using it in 2013 (3/2019) Edit 4/2020: very happy with the browser, especially since tracker blocking was incorporated. Small issues like lag and nonresponsiveness occur but my phone is almost 4 years old, so these things happen Edit 6/2020 no complaints over here

i like it, it sometimes is a little too generic in it's results. staying with me during a session thread would be better. Now a year on, and my comments are largely unchanged. Search results do seem to be getting "tighter", which is good.

Really surprised at how good this is.. I feel so much safer on here then google. Love that I can see what apps are spying on me.. The loss of a star is because I lost a good site as sometimes you can't go backwards or see history, I spent the rest of the day trying to find the article.. But that's minor.. Thank you for getting rod of the crazy ads also.. Appretiated. ☺

Downloaded the app and started moving my bookmarks over to Duck. But, one major problem. In Duck, you cannot move your bookmarks around (up/down). If you notice on Chrome, you tap and hold the bookmark, then drag it up or down the list. I put the most used bookmarks on top. Please look into this. Thanks 😊

Was surprisingly good at first besides a few missing features from chrome for Android. Ultimately what made me uninstall is that webpages just wouldn't load approximately 50% of the time. I wound up manually copying URLs into chrome or edge to get it to load instead. In the comparison to chrome, I missed the swipe down to bring up all tabs and swipe left or right to delete.

  75. Terry Cannon-avatar

It has one major problem It won't wait patiently on you Like a little child it wants to be helpful. At the wrong times but it's a winner the keeper and extremely useful and serves a good purpose even when its creeping.around an you Really need to uninstall it for a minute) cuz I'd rather have it then be without my 🤗 seven-year-old creep 😝😋🥰 he really does mean well🤗. (This coming from me Is saying a lot I hate to share ! TerryC

WYSIWYG! I have been using this browser for more than a year. It works as advertised. I haven't noticed any negative difference in search quality from other browsers I've used, either. DuckDuckGo will be my go-to browser for serious research, for years to come!

  77. Mary Smith-avatar

Have been using this app 8 months now. And in just that time they've improved searching. Meaning, when I would search a subject I had very few options come up and would end up on googl3 anyway. Currently when searching more option come up and they are getting better all the time!

  78. Saluki-avatar

A great browser! One of my favourite things about it is the fact that your feedback is actually listened to, and the developers also make changes quickly. Also, it's a plus that it doesn't track you, and automatically blocks trackers.

  79. Mark J-avatar

A great browser, however one flaw. Whilst the browser supports a dark theme, this does not work on actual websites, unlike many other browsers. So whilst you have a nice dark themed browser, you'll still be seeing websites with their blinding and battery draining white/light themes. Fix this issue and the rating will be higher!

  80. Siym-avatar

Love to see a browser like this! It's fast, easy, and most importantly of all does not allow being tracked or datamined. I also replaced my chrome search widget with the duckduckgo one! Perfect. So far no complaints from me. Well done!

  81. Eraserhead26-avatar

I'm so happy to have a browser that protects my privacy!!!! I wipe my data often using the fire button in the app and it feels SO good to not be giving my information to Google through their Chrome browser. This is the kind of competition that we need right now!!! Join DuckDuckGo and Ditch Google today!

  82. Tee Jay-avatar

I really wanted to love this! After u enter something to search it doesn't return back enough up-to-date relevant options. I'm been entering the same info into DuckDuckGo and Google and they just don't compare. The last search I did only pulled up 2 relevant stories and 1 was from October and they were from no name sites. Google had countless relevant stories from just a couple of hours ago from CNN, People, Times etc. I have no choice but to go back to Google spying a$$.

I Had No Idea What To Expect - I used DuckDuckGo as my default search engine, but I had no idea that they had an app. This app is really nice because it saves pop-ups and websites that may lead me to other places without me knowing or wanting to. I have been pushing Google since their inception, however they have gotten too big and record our every move now for a profit and information. I no longer trust Google and I hope I can put my trust in DuckDuckGo. DDG, please don't loose site as they did

  84. Lester Bell-avatar

I just started using the app for Android 8.0 mobile system for my Google play store's app for my new website browser, it seems to have a little more ability to hide some of the site's on the internet, for whatever I want to look into that is kinda hidden behind my VPN settings on my android mobile device, thanks to Google development team and the other one in partners with Google LLC. Lester Bell (USA).

  85. Elaine Ekberg-avatar

I feel more confident with my privacy, great search engine! I've only been using DDG for my primary browser for less than a week, and at this point, the only thing I miss that other browsers have is the ability to enlarge what I'm viewing with my 2 fingers.

  86. Pavan Kumar MN-avatar

Excellent browser. Started using it after getting vexed with chrome and its ads. This is what a browser should be, fast, clean and private. Only two suggestions to make this perfect. Bring the task bar to the lower end of screen and enforce dark mode to website content.

  87. John Gibbons-avatar

I like it's simplicity, it runs fast on my old work phone with low ram. It could use a few more options though imo. Accessibility, text scaling it's my first change to Chrome usually to enlarge the text. I'd love a GDPR blocker or auto accept for cookies, that's really annoying.

  88. Rick Deckard-avatar

Consistently FAILS to download files, can not name the files downloaded, can not choose into which sub-folder files are downloaded, can not search for images by image, consistently receiving error messages upon clicking links, webpages refusing to x-out when clicked appropriately, can not import/export bookmarks to/from other browsers, extremely user-unfriendly with an excruciatingly buggy UI. And I've had this app for less than a day! `Eff` this trash! Uninstalled!

  89. vandana bhatia-avatar

There is a sense of liberation and opening up of one's mind while using duckduckgo and it feels intuitive. Excellent browser! However, I cant figure out why it doesn't allow downloading and says" Storage permission needed" everytime. From where can this permission be obtained?

  90. Prince Earl-avatar

Better than I expected, just wish there was a way to get a better street view map as Apple maps doesn't do it for me. But that has always been a problem for every browser other than you know what 😉. Some really nice features very easy interface can't really go wrong here a top job.

  91. Maria Schmidt-avatar

When I search for something, it tells me who are tracking me. Great experience and I feel safe! Plus, when I want to search for news and America's history, I know, it'll give me HONEST INFORMATION. Google gives "Fake News!"

  92. Konrad Nowicki-avatar

I like how much private it is, but I don't like that is not saving my websites that I visited regularly - well I can add them to the bookmark list but is not very handy, also I need to log in to certain websites everytime I close the app even if I select an option such as "remember me". Overall, better than chrome.

I have had this app for under 24 and that's not enough time to know much of anything. So far I like what I see. It would be very refreshing to finally download an app and be given a couple days to explore and find out what it's all about. For now I guess it's the typical 15 minutes.

  94. Gautam Goud KE-avatar

It's nice app, when compare to other search engines available on other platforms, but the reason I am giving four stars is, unfortunately I faced a prblm of crashing app ,after a long time of installing, they need to improve that bug, comes with more privacy...

  95. David Esquivel-avatar

Eats up far too much RAM for a no-frills mobile browser and likely has memory leaks as no browser app should be using nearly 50 memory (1.7+ GB) max use with just one tab open, leading to website navigation breaks and could lead to privacy/security issues. Not multitasking friendly. Needs a lot of work still but each update over several months doesn't improve it.

  96. Glenn Brown-avatar

I love that it appears to block add tracking. It still does not search as well as Google BUT it will include results that Google does not due to Google's desire for "Social Re-Engineering". Google's agenda causes them to elimate results that contain information which opposes their political and philosophical ideology.

  97. Lia Denna-avatar

I LOVE Duck Duck Go, search results pull up more options than standard browsers and do not feel manipulated like they are these days for other browsers. Privacy factor is awesome and my first search resulted in accurate results and a message that they blocked 5 individual entities from tracking my movements online. I recommend Duck Duck Go to anyone with desire to browse privately online while obtaining required results without seach result manipulation due to ad revenue in many other browsers.

This app is very good and best but 1 problem if i download something i don't stop or pause this downloading. So please solve this problem or bug in your system hurry. the way i am from india. And 1 more problem if i download something from your browser so those file is not moved in my memory

I am so glad I can use an app (game, browser, or otherwise) that is not intent on collecting my Metadata for their own selfish advertising purposes or to sell off to the government for tracking purposes like Google does with everything. Thank you for your "above board" services!

There are whole subjects blocked by google! Didn't relize till I tried duckduckgo when I got frustrated that I could not find anything I was looking for on google about a touchy subject. There are so many websites out there still!! Had no ideah. Almost as good as the searches I could do in the early 2000's.
