One of the challenges of studying Ancient Greek is to memorise its unfamiliar vocabulary, and the many forms each word can take. The most reliable way to learn this material is by constant practice, which is where Liberation Philology Ancient Greek can help. Wherever you have your phone and a free moment, Liberation Philology Ancient Greek is ready to drill you on Ancient Greek vocabulary and grammar with a continuous multiple-choice test. Your answers are immediately confirmed or corrected, and reinforced through repetition. • Vocabulary: 110 levels, each testing the translation of 10 words between English and Ancient Greek. Additional sections contain 220 levels of Homeric, and 210 levels of New Testament vocabulary. Interspersed among these are cumulative levels reviewing what has been learned earlier (giving a total of 609 levels). • Nouns: Tests your ability to parse and decline all classes of Ancient Greek nouns. • Adjectives & Pronouns: Tests your ability to parse and decline all classes of Ancient Greek adjectives & demonstrative pronouns. • Verbs: Tests your ability to parse and conjugate a range of paradigmatic Ancient Greek verbs. • Participles: Tests your ability to recognise and decline Ancient Greek participles. A further Reference module allows you to review the vocabulary word-list and the noun and verb paradigms. Beginning students also have the option of displaying Greek text in transliteration.

Helpful for vocabulary learning and quizzing.

When I open it I get a message saying this is built for an older version of Android and I should check for updates. I do, and see it hasn't been updated since 2018! No excuse for this with a paid app. It's such a pity the author has abandoned such a worthwhile project.

I love this app. Since I purchased it around 7:00 last night I've been alternating it with the Ancient Greek app that I also bought from you guys about the same time. It is now 9:30 a. m. and I'm still at my apps. It's very hard to find Old Norse material for a beginner like myself. This more than satisfies my needs and expectations. Thanks a million, y'all.

A very good vocabulary/quiz tool for learning ancient Greek, although for five bucks I was kind of hoping for/expecting a more full language-learning package and not just a good flashcard program. It does very much expect you to be learning somewhere else, for which this is just a supplement. Something that would help usability a bit is being able to put more than one level at a time into the quizzes-- like putting them on a checklist you could choose the ones you want from, rather than just one

The app is excellent for review and reinforcement of paradigms. Very, very helpful. I only wish that the app would wait for user input after each response before advancing, a la Duolingo. This would allow students to take a moment to reinforce a lesson, and would be especially useful in the case of incorrect responses.

Thanks a lot, such a helpful app. I desperately need a search function though.

Incredible app, can you make one for Polish?

Very good vocabulary builder. Allows one to pick up and practice Greek words quickly in several different vocabularies, not just New Testament. Practicing declensions is a very nice feature! One oddity: the vocabulary lists for different units often include the same Greek with a different English gloss or the same English equivalent with a different Greek word. This much is good because it teaches one that the same Greek word can have different shades of meaning (καρδια is both 'heart" and "mind") or the same English concept can be expressed by different Greek words (several different words can all mean "to take"). Where it becomes troublesome is when the app rejects correct answers. For example: αγαθος shows up in NT unit 8 and 22 as "good" and "useful" respectively. Καλος likewise shows up as "beautiful" in one unit and "good" in 22. So, in unit 22, the app asks for "good" expecting καλος and rejects αγαθος. It is perhaps not hard to figure out when walking through each unit the first time: a wrong answer or two indicates the problem, but it is strange when reviewing and forces one to try to remember which unit expects which answer, which is useless information (even memorizing Strong's numbers would be more useful). Better glosses for these overlapping terms, context in quiz mode, or better handling of ambiguous questions would be appreciated.

The app actively opposes your attempts to learn. When you enter a wrong response, the correct answer is shown for 1 second, then the app automatically moves to the next question. The lesson really should advance only on user input.

Very good app. 2 feature requests: could wait until a tap before showing the options at the quizzes. Audio would be nice, although I know there would be some polemy about the pronounciation.
