An update at last!
This brings the app up-to-date with the latest version of Android, so you can continue writing and publishing anonymously on Write.as. In addition, we've made the following changes:
- Removed support for publishing over Tor
- Changed how backups work -- PLEASE NOTE they no longer persist when you uninstall the app
- Renamed the app to "Write.as Anon." to show that this only for anonymous publishing on Write.as
- Updated Settings
- Follow us on Mastodon, instead of Twitter

Write.as: Anonymous is a quick, anonymous way to share your writing on the web. There's no sign up — just open the app, write something, and publish. Share the link with your Twitter followers or friends, or keep it to yourself to keep it private.
This is the anonymous side of Write.as — it doesn't allow you to log into a Write.as account. Want to create a blog or newsletter? Join us on our website, Write.as, and sign up or log into your Pro account.
