app download I bought 2 Nexus7 tablets and my S4 BECAUSE of Currents The fact that it would update all my news automatically so it could be read offline made it unique. Now that is gone with this auto update to Newstand. P.S. Newsstand is working well offline now. Only thing, one needs to press the back button to switch magazines, but overall close to Currents now

  6. Brad Durandetta-avatar

g suite The app was okay, but it never captured my attention for very long. I always found myself going back to a normal RSS reader. Newsstand works better for me as a kind of RSS supplement, so I'm glad the latest update removes Currents from the app drawer. It was a good first attempt at a graphically inspired reader, but Newsstand is much better. So long Currents.

  7. Jason King-avatar

vs slack Google Currents was the nicest reader I've used, very clean minimal visuals. I'd previously used Google Reader. But the replacement, Newsstand is nowhere near so good. Yes it looks great on a 7 inch tablet. There's no way to stop it bringing up a random stream of articles. Many perfectly valid feeds don't load properly when I try to add them. It doesn't have the simplicity of Currents. The only reason I'm still using it, is that Newsstand lets me read articles offline - although not with the ease that Currents enabled it.

  8. Vince Bohlier-avatar

wiki There is a huge amount of sites I see that you are pulling info from. I was so happy to see great articles posted, where pulse fails google excels! My only complaint is when I download what says "google currents", I open the app and when im done I find my shortcut gone. Its being replaced by Newsstand.

  9. Sierra Duffey-avatar

apk Newsstand came as a preinstalled app on my phone yet I still discovered, downloaded and kept Currents. Why? Because I hated newsstand. But now Google decided to combine the two very obviously so that it becomes easier for its users to purchase subscriptions. But I was very informed with just the free news I received easily and quickly with Currents. Now I will find it much more difficult to read the best news stories on a regular basis. Not satisfied with this "replacement" one bit.

  10. Emil Vulkov-avatar

release date Currents was THE BEST news app. This is a nostalgia rating. Still keep the icon. A reminder of how Google can screw things up. Newsstand is not bad, but it lacks in customization and actual readability. The UX is simpler, true, however the enjoyment of really getting into what you're reading, especially on a tablet, is completely gone. Sad... I don't particularly like Flipboard, but that's what I'm using now.

  11. Kenneth Gower-avatar

I can't believe you ruined this. It was a great app. Now when I open it, it just makes me open up Newsstand. There's no point in even having this app installed or in the store. The functionality of the old Currents is completely different than Newsstand, I don't know why you would try to replace it with Newsstand. Screw you Google.

  12. Martin Cerny-avatar

Dear Google, I was very happy when someone put Microsoft under pressure. But lately I'm more and more disappointed with apps and services. Apps keep coming and going without any notice. Bye bye, there is nothing left for just lost one client BTW: why I can't give zero rating? this move would deserve nothing else....

  13. Devin Turner-avatar

Currents was better than Newstand and here's why: Currents had my very favorite home screen widget ever that let you thumb through different article headlines right from the home screen. Seriously, it was fun. Currents paginated all the articles so you actually moved through them rather than scrolling. Much more enjoyable and makes big articles less intimidating. I didn't even mind the ads. There doesn't seem to be a single stream you can see all your "My News" feeds in at once. You have to pick them individually to see their articles. The best thing about Currents was being able to pick the most interesting articles, from several sources, quickly. Most insulting, Newstand automatically adds a bunch of junk magazine and news subscriptions even if you were an existing user from Currents.

  14. John Baum-avatar

Google Currents was an amazing app which downloaded great content automatically for reading on the plane or train or any offline location:. Why on earth would you kill such a fantastic tool in order to try and sell more electronic magazines? Tried for last hour to download anything; total fail not worthy of even 1 star

  15. A Google user-avatar

Seems like Google has been furiously working to make the worse news reader possible. Currents had a very limited selection of optimized feeds, but were organized somewhat. Google Newsstand just jumbles them together and has no configuration options. It's a blatant revenue move.

  16. Jamie Spudich-avatar

You completely fouled up one of my favorite apps. All my favorite articles were nicely grouped and well organized. Now everything is all over the place. There is no way to organize things and I have to sort through a bunch of stuff I have no interest in seeing. You guys really bombed with this one. Bring back Currents.

I used currents since its release and have never had any issues with its great layout and navigation. Now google has decided that I should use there bloated ugly and poorley coded news stand app instead !! I want currents back or I will have to look for a new news reader. What a shame another great app ruined, can't they just leave it for us users and not update it instead of forcing unwanted software on its users. What a shame RIP currents !!!

  18. Jex Thomas-avatar

First of all, this app is beautifully designed. The layout is wonderful, and I would imagine it's even more amazing to behold on a tablet. That said, this app is lacking some really important features, like the abilty to share stories. It also seems to have no functionality for displaying slideshows, which is unfortunate. When these issues are addressed, I'll make currents my go-to news reader. Until then, I'm finding something else.

  19. Ty Taab-avatar

I wish i did not update. This last update is NOT an update but the kiss of death for the currents application ! It will force you to move to newsstrand that is much less powerful than currents. No more offline reading for me... I used to sync the news at home and then read offline... Impossible now. I need to find another app. So don t update if you can. Google will get you too one day but you can delay that moment of pain. At least you will know.

  20. Isaac Fischer-avatar

No longer can stories be marked as read or hidden once they are read. With a large amount of news, that is one key feature that makes Newsstand a non-viable solution for me. Also missing: Feed customization. What if I don't want to see all sections? Too bad for me.

  21. Aaron Hay-avatar

I loved Currents because it perfectly synced all content seamlessly for reading on the tube. It was always ready. Not once have I seen this replacement load the content I want ahead of time. I end up reading days old news. Get automatic syncing working properly or I'll be finding a new reader!

  22. Kobia Kobia-avatar

This was an excellent app. Made articles very readable. The development team and promised me they'd not ever kill it. But they did and I'm not even mad because Newsstand is even better. The logo is not as beautiful though. Currents 5 star, Play Newsstand 5 Star !

I personally love the Currents UI over Flipboard's but the major problem I have with it is performance. Each time I swipe to view a tab it lags and its okay if it happens once in a while but this is a constant issue. The app is gr8 though, I hope that the next update will fix these issues and make it a smoother experience for us! :-)

  24. Andy Fairhurst-avatar

Very disappointed in Google for discontinuing Currents. The replacement, Newsstand, simply doesn't work on a Wi-Fi only device like my GOOGLE Nexus 7. News feeds don't download properly even after making them available offline. Makes it useless for commuting

  25. David-avatar

I am one of those people who don't read newspapers. They are too depressing or full of pointless 'journalism' on what celebrity is dating the other. Everyday I would use Currents to get my news. I had my favourite topics at the tip of my finger. It was simple and effective to use. Bottom line was I enjoyed it. But now it has gone and a misguided change has taken it's place. Newsstand is terrible. The simplicity has gone. Why has this replaced it? Please change it back.

  26. Erik Lentz-avatar

I'm really disappointed that Google is discontinuing Currents for Newsstand. Currents has a sleek UI and doesn't get clogged up with celebrity nonsense. Newsstand has no way for you to prevent seeing content from worthless sources.

  27. Sam Gilmore-avatar

The key change with this update was to allow news sources to add paywalls and place more prominent ads. Also news on app is no longer readable if you go offline which is a leap in the wrong direction. UI update looks nice but it's only superficial.

  28. Ben Peoples-avatar

This used to be easy to use and a great app. Now useless! Who approves apps to go out, ever heard of screening by non Then you could have been told you have ruined it before forcing everyone to ruin it via the update

  29. Martha Dunham-avatar

There is no "instant transfer". Instead I have to start all over figuring out a new app. IT IS NOT BETTER. That's the most annoying part about the whole surprise -- to be told it's better when it was JUST FINE the way it was. The truth in advertising laws are still in effect: "When consumers see or hear an advertisement, whether it’s on the Internet, radio or television, or anywhere else, federal law says that ad must be truthful, not misleading, and, when appropriate, backed by scientific evidence. "

  30. Steve Moores-avatar

I used to be able to flip through dozens of articles, now I have to push a little button and seem to have around eight stories, where's the feeds, where's the functionality. One huge step backwards. Please respond to your users and fix this.

  31. A Google user-avatar

This app is pretty good but it takes up lot of space... Both Internal and ram. Overlooking that... Isnt the saved articals synced...? I lost them couple of times when I had to format my phone.... This should be improved... Edit: c'mon... You should have discontinued newstand instead of this.... This was atleast better than that crap... :(

  32. Jay Kimsey-avatar

Killing off this application was a good idea, and I stand by Google Inc. for making this choice. However, if they are going to kill an app, they should destroy it permanently. Stock Android needs an update so the application will be gone for good. Having another app icon in my app drawer is pointless if the application is dead. Now, this application is the exact thing that stock Android should never have: bloatware.

  33. Keara Spoor-avatar

Hate all required Google content in latest android versions. If I wanted Hangouts et. al. I would choose to download it. I shouldn't have to choose between the security of not jail breaking the device & the insecurity of having apps installed that I'll never use & require sharing private content w/ other apps I may or may not choose to use.

  34. Sam-avatar

Why the hell have I done this???? Google currents was the most amazing app and now it is gone. I am angry with myself for updating the app without reading the reviews. I might as well throw my nexus away. This phone is useless without currents. PLEASE GOOGLE FIND IT WITHIN YOUR HEARTS TO BRING IT BACK!!!

  35. Tanya Beck-avatar

What happened to scrolling forward and and backward through the articles from the news and magazines I had chosen? I do like the adjustable size of articles, but wish it would show more text and not just bigger pictures. Please fix the scrolling function and stop showing random article from magazines I have not chosen.

  36. Michael Thomas-avatar

awesome!!! so no more widget? I looked at that thing everyday for my custom news. loved that app... and the widget was choice. I always hated Newsstand not only its my favorite news widget gone but its making me use Google newsstand?!? (In Will Ferrells voice)...... WHAT THE FK HAPPENED!

  37. mike mikedoskwis-avatar

When "currents" was still "currents" it was a great app, with ease of access to every function and every magazine. Since the update happend my icon disappeared and I was not able to find it anywhere.....once I did it was quite horrible. Google need to update that what is not broken....the name was good, the functionaly was great and people liked it, focus on getting more magaZines in there instead of ways to change it. Horrrible update, though a great app kill indeed.

  38. Chris N-avatar

Newsstand is horrible. Google going the way of Amazon, Apple, cable and telephone co's or worse. Moving to a world of only connectivity you have to pay for. I was fine not having connection and downloading when out. You will pay for content you do not want. Privacy, maybe someday we will offer it but you will pay. Some day Google will monetize me leaving Android and make me pay for that to.

  39. Sam Wood-avatar

Google I admit there have been times when you were right and I was wrong, but this isn't one of them. Currents was an essential part of my day. I could hop between sources with ease and customize my news experience. Now all I see are countless adds to "customize my Olympic experience", and magazine offers to which I'll never subscribe. Please bring back currents, or incorporate its functionality into newsstand. Sincerely, Avid yet disappointed Google fan

  40. George Smith-avatar

Usually I wouldn't comment on an app like this especially one from Google a company which I think is brilliant. Currents was a fantastic app that I used for hours a day every day and now it would seem that this great app is gone only to be replaced by an unfortunate and poor attempt at fixing an app that wasn't broken.

  41. Florian Wulfert-avatar

    Florian Wulfert

Newsstand does not do the job of Currents :-( Currents showed me exactly what I wanted, in the order I chose. Newsstand does it all "so helpfully" for me that I have to read what I'm not interested in and miss out on the stories I wanted to read. Bad choice, just to force you more in the direction of paid e-magazines.

  42. Raj Meister-avatar

You have two apps now combined into one. These two apps work better when alone. Now that these are together, it makes google currents look bad, unprofessional & complicated to get used to. If there's no fault or flaws with this app, don't go ahead & make stupid decisions we [the user] don't want.

  43. Abhishek Ghag-avatar

Would love to see curated news. Offline sync is a life saver in subway. Great features. Would love to see comments though if possible. Also gesture for left navigation is difficult to use. Definitely needs a better ui for widget or atleast make it smoother. BlinkFeed is much better widget.

  44. Adam Milward-avatar

Only thing holding my devotion to android, was the old currents. Please make it available again I feel extremely uncomfortable and frustrated with news stand. It doesn't have the same beautiful flow. Have lost quite a few feeds.

  45. stanley bass-avatar

You could restore your Google currents with these easy steps. Go to Settings>Manage Apps, and then uninstall updates to the Google Currents app. This will replace the app to its initial state (factory version) and the app icon is restored. But as of Mar 20 they Google are no longer updating Currents. :(

  46. Blue Riley-avatar

You took away my favorite app and this newsstand doesn't work like currents did! WHY? ! Why would you take away something that worked great and replace with something that you have to pay for everything. You really screwed this one Google!

  47. Andrew Burgess-avatar

Now those of us who dared not to allow the sneaky uninstalling of Currents through a supposed "update" are being forced to stop using it because Google have blocked all feeds. (My most up to date stories were 8th March, resetting app results in "no results available" for all subjects. Dead.) What is going on at Google? Stop destroying your own apps for lesser functioning ones. Have you been invaded by undercover Apple devs? Or do you really simply just not care about your customer's opinions any longer?

  48. Victor Georgiev-avatar

    Victor Georgiev

Pales in comparison to Flipboard. There is no way to get rid of the ugly colored pictures that the app chooses as icons for my feeds. Further - scrolling through those huge images to find an article once you are inside the feed takes forever. One of the worst Google-made apps

  49. shaun rico-avatar

I dont like Newsstand. I prefer the page turning style of current. Kind of irritating that Google is not listening to what the mass is asking for, kind of like Apple of doing thing. Force feed stuff.

  50. Dan Rowe-avatar

The screen with the icons of news sources is stupid. Otherwise it's OK but I prefer the old sidebar for sources. Definitely a downgrade. I think the whole point of rolling it into one app was to trick me into buying a dumb magazine.

  51. Paul-avatar

Currents was a polished app I used more than 5 times a day. New stand claims to have moved my content over except it missed the part where its lobbed it in amongst every other feed. Hopeless move Google. The new app is not needed, not wanted and if its supposed to be an improvement its a massive failure

  52. Hans N-avatar

Plain and simple. Why does google have to screw up something good with a lousy piece like newsstand? Because they are out of touch with the consumers. Uninstalling this worthless piece.

  53. A Google user-avatar

Urgh. I love you Google but man the new update to force us into the news stand app just sucks... It does not function anywhere near as good as Google currents did, not only that, all of my feeds I had signed up to disappeared. Oh well, the steamroller keeps moving forward.

  54. Jonathan Behling-avatar

    Jonathan Behling

Hate the new version! This and Pulse news readers both killed.. Why can't we have option to read stories only from one of our sources? Instead they're all jumbled together.. Ughh

  55. Elie Assous-avatar

Please allow to select language for breaking stories. My phone is in English and propose only US and Japan editions. I'd like to add the one for France also...

  56. Joseph Monti-avatar

This USED to be the best news reader now it is trash HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. The lay out is the worst can see article summaries. The update is a major major embracement. And to make it even more bad you cant read articles when using wifi

  57. Joan Lucia-avatar

Cannot access current issue of Time even though you gave me a message that it was now available! I was directed to Currents, uninstalled, updated, tried to access, took me to same message! Has me going in circles! What do I do now? I have other magazines I can't access.

  58. Sara Volk de Garcia-avatar

    Sara Volk de Garcia

I loved currents, and used it many times a day. It was intuitive. This new app is hard to understand, and I can't find my favorite "breaking news" section. Please bring currents back!

  59. Nightcrawler Black-avatar

    Nightcrawler Black

This is God aweful. Why go changing a perfectly good app. Not everything needs to evolve into something new periodically. Currents was the ideal all in one news reader, and now I have a piece of Crap replacing it. For goodness sake Google... Bring back currents..

  60. Jerry Hernandez-avatar

    Jerry Hernandez

Currents used to be my number one go to for news articles. Now with the new update its pretty much unusable. I need to have a smooth interface between feeds but most importantly I need to have the ability to hide articles I have already read.

  61. Will Sherman-avatar

My news/read it now feed is full of stories from WSJ, which you have to pay for, other sources I don't read, and stories about sports, Hollywood types, and political bickering. NONE of these are areas I'm interested in or have ever been interested in and the few sources/topics I do want that are available in their limited selections in the feed are buried in a sea of noise from their sponsored crap.

  62. Guido Insigne-avatar

Worst update ever. Went from an easy to use streamlined interface to a complete mess. Sorry google, I understand wanting to make money by throwing magazine subscriptions in peoples faces but this is a complete fail, all its going to bring is a loss of active currents users.

  63. A Google user-avatar

I have used currents since moving to android 2 years ago. This recent downgrade to newsstand must be the worst decision Google have made recently. Now trying to find a good 3rd party replacement

  64. J Young-avatar

Currents used to be a good reliable and easy to use ap that I used on a daily basis. The update is rubbish, why can't you just leave things as they were.....if it ain't broke why fix it! You could have created a new ap instead

  65. Keith Mitchell-avatar

Currents was a much simpler set up, easy to navigate for a quick catch up of news. I'm not enjoying the replacement. I really hope Google read the comments here because they've messed up a very good app.

  66. S C-avatar

It's crazy to me that I bought my Nexus 7 2 in late 2013, which came with the newest of the new by Google. "Currents" was Google's exciting new take on an aggregate news reader. They wanted what Flipboard had. New users purchasing a nexus 7 would have no idea such a great app existed before this monstrosity came along. In short Google is once again diminishing itself, by copying Apple when it was fine doing its own thing. Boo

  67. Else Davidson-avatar

So mad right now! Loved my currents! Hate this reader setup! The doesn't have even half the features currents had. This sucks! Stupid idea. Looking for another app that doesn't suck!

  68. Mario Gravina-avatar

Can't really say I am shocked. Google grabbed a simple news reader and turned into a maze of washed up news. Not the same by far, uninstalling for good, like others said... RIP Currents.

  69. Alain de Pierres-avatar

    Alain de Pierres

Big mistake updating. This is going backward, no organization just a babble, really disappointed. What moron decided this was better than the old currents. Wish I new how to give it a negative rating

  70. Bret Clark-avatar

Bring back Currents!!! It's a lot easier to use than this stupid app, I've yet to find my subscriptions that were supposed to be transferred over. Google you're starting to turn into a Microsoft where you think you're improving the software but instead you're doing the exact opposite!

  71. Dre Michael-avatar

I'm sorry... So sorry... That I was such a fool. I was straight up belligerent when they changed "currents" to newsstand... But I was wrong. It's even better now. Best news app in the biz... Take it from me... A guy that you've never met.

  72. Maggie Russell-avatar

Newstand is nowhere near as good as Currents. It's a pain to try and actually read full articles. There's too much truncated information. It's too hard to actually find the publishers you like and the articles you are interested in. Will need to start looking for a replacement for something that was really good but replaced by something really mediocre...

  73. Alex Loke-avatar

Wow! That's the WORST kind of update by far. You should've let users keep Google Current and not FORCING users to migrate to a different app.

  74. Four Candles-avatar

Currents is far more useful as a reading app than Newsstand. Whoever thought Newsstand was better needs their wages docked for sheer incompetence and bad decision making. Surely a poll could have been conducted to see what features could have been brought over to Newsstand from Currents?

  75. James New-avatar

My favorite news reader killed? My number one favorite app removed? The replacement for Currents sucks. Now all I view are spinning wheels. If it's not broken don't fix it! RIP CURRENTS :-(

Google just doesn't get it, do they? We don't like your updates! First they destroy YouTube's entity by stripping it from most, if not all of its old features. Now they ruin currents. STOP Google. God d*mn... If it's not broken, Google, PLEASE do not attempt to fix it. YOUR "FIXES" SUCK!!!

It wasn't broken but some boardroom genius had to stroke his ego and employ some people to change it. The replacement is weak and will be uninstalled. So much for trying to get concise BS reduced custom news.

This was a wonderful go-to app for catching up on my various RSS feeds and subscriptions. Now it does nothing but push to Play Newsstand which doesn't come close to offering the functionality Currents gave me. RIP Currents - you were great while you lasted.

  79. Marcelo Marcos-avatar

The widget has a lot issues. News dont upgrade and widget mixes news from random sources, not the favorite sources... trully 1 step back.

  80. Mike P-avatar

The new design is bad. I can no longer flip thru pages on the widget. Its got this tiny little arrow you have to tap. Old review follows: Only certain feeds available with vast majority being more liberal and soho oriented. Sometimes pics will completely stop loading for any feed. Have to wait a while for it to start working again. Silly. Update june 10 crappy thing barely loads anything while rest of the net zooms. What a buggy app.

  81. Pat Banks-avatar

Never reviewed in at before, this one is the worst. Currents was organized and fast. News reader is confusing and slow and can't be organized. I do not want to read magazines on my phone nor do I want to subscribe to digital magazines being shoved down my throat by Google.

  82. Corey Challis-avatar

Currents is clearly not Newstand's predecessor. Newsstand doesn't offer what this app did, which was news sourced from different locations. Whereas Newsstand expects you to subscribe to one biased paper offering limited, pointless news.

  83. Russell Horn-avatar

Google took gold and turned it to lead. Shocking to lose the previously useful widget functionality. You could scroll quickly, backwards and forward and find an interesting read. Now you're faced with a clunky unappealing interface. In the widget you can go only in one direction and need to tap a tiny icon. It simply takes far too long to get through the available news.

No idea how to get around and easily find my topics in new stand. Now I have to install paper on my iPad and my handy Nexus will be resting.

Why change the old current when it worked just fine. It is now cumbersome and not as user friendly. I don't know why they would change something that worked quite well.

Google Newsstand's organizational structure is much weaker than Currents. The sidebar in Currents enabled me to seamlessly move through different news sources, which is the number one reason why I got the app. Newsstand took that away from me.

A said from the poor name choice of Google play newsstand, why remove such a great app? Currents did everything and then some. Just another way google loves forcing it's users on Google plus.

  88. George Major-avatar

It has no flow or logic! Just thrown together...what a mess! Google keeps trying to "make it better". First Reader and now Currents...what a shame! Time to delete.....

I too was somewhat disappointed with the loss of Currents. But that just forced to me to look for a better solution. So I tried Flipboard and now I'm glad Currents went down the river. Thing is, I probably would have never changed if you hadn't got rid of Currents. So thanks for that...

  90. Ryan Blackburn-avatar

I'm missing my currents. Last seen when I updated my app. If found please call me to claim your reward. On a professional note I'm sure Google didn't get the customer response from currents which is why they changed it :(

  91. Calvin Lee-avatar

I read my news according to its source. Now newstand just jumbles everything into a (perhaps chronological) heap. That's not how people read news. What happened to swipe between feeds??

  92. Michael McD.-avatar

The app is now gone. Completely replaced with Play Newsstand? I mean c'mon, Google. This is why big business should scare us all. Disclaimer to all: maybe the reason you favored Currents was offline content; you can still view everything offline by My News>action overflow next to thumbnail>keep on device. Not totally useless, but Currents will be missed. Sigh. Via Galaxy Note 2

I was very pleased with Currents, it was a place I visited few times a day. The replacement is too dense and I am confused. Too bad Google found a replacement for something that actually worked.

  94. Rob Cole-avatar

Newsstand is terrible you've taken currents (free) and merged it with magazines (paid) in hope people will start spending money by putting this all in one place. By doing so you've sacrificed a good app in currents where people can read only those subscriptions they want in a quick, easy and visual way. Granted the newsstand app is quick and smart looking but I now have to filter through the crap and magazines I do not care about to find the articles I do want to see. Not impressed going to flipboard. :-(

  95. Aarjav Jain-avatar

The SHITIEST THING THAT YOU COULD HAVE EVER DONE WAS REPLACE GOOGLE CURRENTS WITH GOOGLE PLAY NEWSTAND. Google play newsstand takes a lot of data compared to Google CURRENTS. And you don't get multiple news together. In current, you could see multiple news and it was so user friendly. But newsplaystand is so irritating and useless. Google currents WAS the best news app.

  96. Ms Me-avatar

This horribleness prompted me into my first review. This is the most awful, atrocious, convoluted, WASTE. Currents is no longer. Current WAS wonderful, simple, easy to get your news app. Now literally makes me want to punch my screen or vomit. I do NOT want to have to wade through garbage and forced buy options of magazines and news from a 1,000 sources. BRING BACK CURRENTS. THIS IS HORRIBLE!

  97. Chris Joyce-avatar

Newsstand makes for a much more convoluted way of reading the news than currents does. I'll now have to look for an alternative news reader or hope Google makes this app open source.

This app was brilliant for someone not having mobile data and Wi-Fi isn't always around where I am. But forcing users to Newsstand is stupid, please bring back Currents! Thank you

  99. Daniel Probst-avatar

A prime example how to turn a wonderful useful app into an horrible steaming pile of Microsoft/facebook dung. Horrible interface, crap GUI and ergonomics - currents was efficient and fast - newsstand is mindbogglingly inefficient and slow.

  100. A Google user-avatar

Currents was one of my fav apps. The thing that "replaces" it (Newsstand) has a very poor functionality compared to currents. The widget is a sorry excuse. Bring it back. It is not a better way to enjoy all the news, I suspect that it is a better way for google play to sell its news subscriptions.
