This app is workable as a sort of tuning aid for short distances. So for instance, setting up a portable backdrop. This doesn't work all that well as a remote, though, since the remote function relies on the ability to spend a moment downloading the image. For the good: will connect with the camera through device wifi, will show live action on sensor (though choppy, but good enough), will act as a remote. For the bad: phone's auto-rotate does not coordinate with the camera if the camera is in vertical (i.e., portrait) orientation, is configured to download images after each shot, and is just a smidge clunky. Overall, I'd just say get a remote shutter trigger. This app really doesn't come anywhere *near* blowing my mind.

Dismal. Connection unstable. Kills every button and knob on the camera, so not only can you not change any controls from the app (which I dont mind), you can't change ANY control on your actual camera! Including focus points. So I finally got it to take one picture, of whatever was in focus in centre, it then spent a couple of minutes downloading it...then said "Download failed". It's like a comedy of errors. But not funny

It does not work at any distance out 10 yards. We try to use this as a triggering device for family pictures. After every picture it tries to download the picture and you have to wait 30 seconds for it to download. I need something that will let me make the choice take picture after picture rapid fire. I dont need it to download to my phone I can look at the SD card later..

This app is terrible, compketely useless. I managed to connect my phone to the camera only a handful of times by chance. When connected, it's working very slowly. Once it disconnects, good luck conmecting it again...

Totally useless. Does not work. Will not connect to Samsung S8+...not under any circumstances. The app is free, but the WU-1a adapter cost me $50 to find this out. DON'T be like me!

Very unprofessional product from nikon. I cannot see the images in full clarity when it is connected, while other camera manufactures give that option even in the entry level cameras. Also wifi connection is very unstable and shows error most time.

Fantastic, don't know why the ratings are so low. Works perfectly with no ads and no lag. (Used with my Nikon d750)

I find it very useful because i can download pictures from my D5300 easily and i can use my phone as a remote to take pictures. My only problem is that the display doesnt show up on my phone but it does for my friend's phone. If any of you have had this problem and managed to solve it, then please share :)

Absolute garbage! Exactly how much of my life am I supposed to spend going around in circles trying to get this worthless app to function? This is insane! Maybe I'm not a Nikon fan after all. Not a fan of any company that lets me spend $1000 on their product that doesn't even have the features I paid for! It really seems this was developed by someone who doesn't speak our language & has never used a freakin app before in their life (& certainly hasn't ever buit 1!)

Absolutely rubbish. No effort to improve this app even after a long time of 5 years. Every year I try it with hope but it is that same unstable, unreliable useless app.
