In addition to the normal application, widget is available. *** CAUTION *** Unfortunately some devices stop the accelerometer in the device when the screen is OFF, the app doesn't run well on such devices. About Permissions SYSTEM TOOLS: needed for running when the screen is off. STORAGE: needed for saving backup of logs in the SDCARD. NETWORK COMMUNICATION: needed for Ads.

I've used this app for a long time and until the most recent update it worked fine. Favorite features are the trip-meter and daily log. But since the update it has missed up to half the actual steps. I see 2 new settings - save battery and decrease the sensitivity. Both were on by default. I turned both off but did not fix the problem. Now I am trying other apps. Two that I have tried seem to be accurate but don't have the features I am looking for. Still looking unless a fix for Walkroid comes. Followup to my original review: The app developer has published an updated version of Walkroid that fixed the problem I described. It now works correctly (at least for me) and so it deserves five stars.

I tried many other step counter apps. This is the only one I found that isn't boated with other features. I compared to Samsung Health and Google Fit for accuracy, and I found this app is more sensitive; tracking steps even when you are holding the phone steady (e.g. on a phone call) rather than only picking up the swinging motion of your hands.

Love this simple app. My only complaint is new update that changed the current steps to the top and Trip1 to cumulative steps (correlating with the Log) instead of being a trip I could reset when I wanted to count certain steps from point A to point B.

For some reason this app now defaults to how many Inches I have moved daily. Unless I'm in a mood to crawl, why inches? Nowhere in the settings can I change it to just simple steps and miles/km. Dear google, If it ain't broke, don't fix it....

On my Samsung S9+ it won't run or track activity for weeks. Just missed 5 days at a conference in las vegas... Guess I'm done with it. Android 9, kernel 4.9.112. Who knows how long it's been broken though? G'bye old trusty pedometer...

Sad my Android not 10 or higher. Stopped counting again today. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Been using forever. App months ago. Thanks to the developers. August 5, 2019 Update Walkroid now displays time spent walking. Thank you for that Walkroid. Your App is the bomb! Simple to use.
