• Book hotels, tours, activities and transportation all in one place seamlessly through our app.

Features of our Android travel guide
- Pick a country or major city and you can preview it right away. You can then dowload the full guide if interested.
- A downloaded guide works offline, without an internet connection.
- Each guide includes a country map and detailed city maps for the top cities.
- Each guide includes info about the major sights, great restaurants, different nightlife options and more.
- Currency converter.
- Phrasebooks for the non-English locations including text to speech, depending on the capabilities of the TTS system available on your phone.
- Weather forecast (updated when online).
- Extensive information about local wildlife, festivals, culture, food for major locations. Less so for the others.
Once installed you have access to country guides covering most of the world and ranging from old time european favorites like Italy, Spain and France to more exotic destinations like Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia.
If you only want a single city and don't want to download an entire country into this guide, we also provide city guides, covering the major tourist cities in Europe like Amsterdam, Rome, Paris and London, but also for slightly smaller places like Brussels, Oslo and Prague. Listing the full depth of our content would be a bit for this space, plus some would think it's spam!
About our guides:
We make awesome travel guides using smart algorithms. To do this, we crawl data from open content sources like World66, Wikivoyage, Wikipedia, Open Street Maps, TouristEye and Flickr. Once we have all the data, it’s time to parse. From each source, we extract all the information we can. Afterwards, we start identifying patterns and matching to come up with one complete record for each location. Now it’s time to determine what is most relevant to travelers. We use traveler’s photos and keyword density to analyze our content. Once we’ve got the most important data, we create the most comprehensive mobile travel guides.
Customizing the app
We setup the app according to your locale, but if you want otherwise, you can set your home currency (for the currency converter) if you tap the top bar and choose Account. There you can also switch between imperial and metric units (fahrenheit/celsius, feet/meters) for the weather forecast temperatures and for distances.
If you see any problem with the app, please write us an email at so we can figure out what’s wrong and fix it. Thanks!

I like the simplicity of the app and the fact that it offers free downloadable travel guide. But I've tried to download several time (my internet speed is good) but it's doesn't work.

  2. Sean P-avatar

Works okay for me. Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet (8"), standard o/s. Don't understand the low ratings. Just remember that this app is primarily a catalogue listing separate country or area specific location Triposo guides, so the actual information in this app is naturally going to be rather sparse. #WorksForMe - thanks. 🍻

  3. A Google user-avatar

Not good enough. Can't view individual items without downloading a whole, often quite large guides. Search within a guide is useless, just brings up paid tours and similar. Understand they need to make money, but I did pay for the app. Used to have an iPhone and the iOS so seemed to work much better. Interface here is pretty dated. I keep hoping for a good electronic travel guide but this just can't touch a book.

  4. Wei-Shan Chang-avatar

I loved this app quite a lot for its offline functions and awesome information including inside the guides. It was quite handy while I was traveling around solo in Europe. Recently I downloaded it for another trip planning yet it got super slow and crashed sometimes. It is a pity that the app is unable to deliver those amazing information smoothly as before.

  5. Lucky Ashnar-avatar

The ofline maps are very slow. The map loads as if it was downloaded from the internet every time. It is impossible to efficiently use it during a trip. It used to be 5star app, but it now gets remived from my mobile. Lost of time!

  6. Hunter Jones-avatar

The resources behind triposo are fantastic, but the app fails to handle basic things well, such as downloading guides. Unless i keep the app active and the screen on, downloads fail. This is not a problem in the iPad version.

  7. John Dowe-avatar

Lot's of information, but there are many many bugs. The "walk" feature to walk the saved places doesn't seem to work. I can't create day plans and assign the saved places to several days etc. So it's quite useless for travel plans.

  8. Etienne Laperle-avatar

    Etienne Laperle

Love this app when I travel. It gives you so much information about everything that you need or want even the one you didn't know you wanted. I highly recommend to download the country you are going to visit. The app will do the rest.

very nice information is very good

  20. Arthur Cardone-avatar

    this app is great

  21. A Google user-avatar

Very handy as an offline guide. Love it ! But needs some basic improvements. The location markers in the maps are very small, white, and very hard to see. They need to be more conspicuous, either by making them bigger or using some more prominent colors. Also, when browsing the list of attractions, it is not clear which have been bookmarked and which haven't. This should be made obvious so that I can tell at a glance which items are bookmarked without having to open each item to check. Docked 1 star for these.

  22. A Google user-avatar

Great app packed with loads of useful information and helpful tips. I would only like it if there was details about the opening hours and entrance fees for more museums, instead of just a wiki article. Edit: does not show favourites on the map anymore.

  23. Александра Капралова-avatar

    Александра Капралова

Awful! Spent several hours and still couldn't make it work from SD. Other ways it's useless because of large data.

  24. Greg Stewart-avatar

Great application which has the best information about so many locations and countries!!

  25. A Google user-avatar

Battery Drain, running in background,,, should have a option to disable it

  26. Mariano-avatar

Offline maps not working since last year. You really ruined a great app for which I paid.

  27. Ghaya Almerree-avatar

The app is great but needs interface face lift because it looks really old

  33. awesomevampireling-avatar

This use to be great and very helpful now it doesn't even work, just blank white screen & keeps crashing

  34. Vojtech Fried-avatar

Helpful. But the new maps lack "details" like public transportation in cities. And accented characters are missing in map labels.

  35. Jilles van Gurp-avatar

    Jilles van Gurp

This app is a wonderful travel companion. I've been using it for a couple of years and I typically load up a guide when I'm traveling. It's not perfect of course but it provides well organized access to tons of information on sights, museums, and other things of interest. I'm currently using it to plan my trip around northern Spain and it's a great help selecting destinations and things to do.

  36. Eric Guillaume-avatar

Triposo used to be great. Not anymore. In the early days, the business model was non existant and it was 100% about the content. Now it's all about tours and the content is 20% of the app, reaching the threshold of uselessness and therefore usage. Triposo is killing its revenue stream... Sad.

  37. Elliott Hale-avatar

Installed the latest version when viewing maps on Galaxy 6 it crashes... deleted and reinstalled and noted when you download a guide some cities or regions are left out....of full download.. you have to check... or risk not having them. Central region of Portugal for instance... bit annoying tbh because I use it for it's offline capabilities.

  38. Rodri Tanoto-avatar

I think Triposo is really useful, and user-friendly. We need more walking guide though. Information on Indonesia is very minimal, probably because most sources used by Triposo contain little info about it. Is it possible for Triposo to mine information from trusted travel blogs, etc?

  39. A Google user-avatar

Was great before the map update now the maps feature doesn't work property. No longer shows which way your facing. No longer changes the marker size of yourself or the marked sights as you zoom in or out. No longer shows your distance from the sight. Maps function was previously the most useful feature of the app now I hardly use Triposo anymore and I am a long term traveler ( 5 years so far) please bring back the previous version of the maps.

  40. Agnessa Spanellis-avatar

    Agnessa Spanellis

In the new version offline maps don't work. This defeats the whole purpose of using the app when you are travelling and don't have constant access to internet.

  41. Sergyu Cent-avatar

I installed last update today and all crash when I try to start it (version 4.3.1), fixed

  42. Kay-avatar

I have mixed feelings about this app, and it is probably down to how the app pulls information from across the Web. Some sections are comprehensive with detailed descriptions and reviews etc. Others are sparse. And I don't think that is because a particular attraction is unpopular. Few reviews are actually submitted by Triposo users but are taken from Facebook. This isn't problem as such, but Facebook reviews sometimes only display the star rating and nothing else. Also, there is no real way to tell if a particular attraction is worth visiting by simply glancing at the entry because there is no grading system. Everything just seems to be lumped under the "popular" tab. So you must go through each entry and hope that there is sufficient information in the description to enable you to decide if it's worth a visit or not (but see my complaint above about inconsistent information). There is a severe lack of photographs on many of the descriptions and those that do have them take ages to load. Actually, the whole app is rather sluggish and there is a noticeable pause each time you tap on something. The look of the app is rather uninspiring and bland. Pages could do with a bit of colour and better formatting of text is required. Often, there is a wall of tiny text (why can't we increase the font size?) that can be difficult to see. I barely used the app for the reasons cited above and have just uninstalled it.

  43. Nik Karbaum-avatar

Denied the location requests and now the app won't work

  44. Paula Rizea-avatar

Is very useful. You download the map and then you have all you need to know, offline.

  45. A Google user-avatar

the best so far, very reliable 😄

An offline guide that forces you to update an outdated guide in order to view it... When you are offline, LOL?

  47. Jaroslav Tabaček-avatar

    Jaroslav Tabaček

This app has ruined my trip. I have downloaded several offline guides, but when I wanted to use the map, the app crashed every time after I try to move the map. The app is therefore useless. Its best feature seems to be to make you lose your mind at your vacation. Thank you, and never again. I have ended up using TripAdvisor with online access, which I highly recommend.

Totally broken. New comment: 4.4.1 World works, thank you. And, I can access the cities I want from there. BUT, unable to successfully open the individual city Tripoli guides on Play Store. All good now, thank you!

  52. A Google user-avatar

Facebook pop ups have disappeared.looks like things are ba k to normal.Used to be fun and easy. Now under sightseeing, any location with facebook post keeps popping up on browser. Its annoying to keep cancelling it everytime.

  53. Peter Spencer-avatar

An excellent application for anyone wanting to travel or do some sight seeing, even in their own country. I think there will be something new even for the experienced travellers. I have recommended this to many people who have returned from a trip and commented that they saw and did much more than they expected because they had this app with them.

  54. Jacob Adirachmat-avatar

This app is the best for my job for the past 6 years. As an Outbound Tour Leader, I have to visit so many foreign countries which often it must be a "first time" exploring. I use it as my sources of many attractions, places, food areas, entertainments, etc. I am very satisfied using this very valuable information on this great application. Bravo, and keep the progress dudes. Respect.

  55. Matt Onu-avatar

I downloaded some country guides on to my phone, but now I can't find the downloaded guides. Whenever I open a country I downloaded the app prompts me to download it again. What I don't get is that when I check the size of the Triposo app on my phone I see 500+mb out of which 400+ is the data I downloaded, which is supposed to be the country guides. What is going on!?

  56. Ian Wong-avatar

I love the app which i had first downloaded a few years back. But it seems to be that almost little activity going on with this guide. I would like to support by premiums but the guide offered are very limited. I hope something new and exiting are coming for such a great app

  57. A Google user-avatar

Please make possible the download of a single city, not the whole region, containing it (in Germany, just for visiting a small city like Monschau, one has to download like 500 MB)

  58. Briana McCloud-avatar

The app no longer works. I used this app for SE Asia travels last September & it worked however I've reinstalled 3xs and it longer works. It will allow you to download but will not open anything on the home page. Please fix or communicate the app is no longer available.

  59. Chris Bennett-avatar

The best app if it's type. Would be even better if guides could be easily moved to SD storage.

  60. A Google user-avatar

Very useful app - I enjoy the built-in dictionary and currency converter. Not sure how up-to-date and comprehensive the restaurant & bar list is, however.

  61. Kevin Saunders-avatar

  82. Sean Piercy-avatar

I was having some issues with it but believe it was due to a bad MicroSD card. It works great when I download the guides to my internal storage. I would recommend adding Google login to the app though. Having a Facebook login is nice but the majority of people that use Android definitely have a Google account. The same can't be said for Facebook. Basically, if your only going to have one login option it should be Google, especially on an Android app.

  83. IAPD PZ-avatar

It's a great guide for travelers who has no plans but wants to travel. Just one thing, can you add Pokestop and Gym to the places in your guide? A lot of pokemon trainers wants to travel, hang out and activate Lure Modules.

  84. Leonie Pacini-avatar

I had not been able to access the app when I last downloaded it as it kept crashing & my previous review reflected my disappointment. After receiving feedback from the app developers I have now re - installed an updated version & it seems to be working quite well now. Looks like a great little app & I am now looking forward to putting it to use.
