Uses a crazy amount of mobile data! I only have the minimum permissions enabled but it is still sending huge amounts of data somewhere. Like I used it for a few minutes and just got a data spike of 500mb. I'm going to try disabling mobile data before using it again and see what happens. Great device. Super shady app. But there is no way I know to use the device camera without this app. Sucks.

Super sketchy VPN. The otoscope works well but the app is definitely doing shady stuff with your network. The device connects with wifi, so there is 0 need for a VPN. If you disconnect the device, the VPN runs in the background and uses a crazy amount of bandwidth. Honestly, google should tell them to remove the spyware or they will delist the app. Stinks because the camera part actually works pretty well.

Not sure why there is all these VPN reviews! You can decline the VPN at least with my galaxy s20+ I could it asked me while connecting if I was okay with the VPN if you push cancel it will just connect to the scope with out the VPN. Overall a good scope!

Affects android performance. It works well with the otoscope hardware, but when you close the app, something still hangs in the background and slows your phone to a grinding halt almost. When I force stop the app, I get my speed and performance back. Fix this bug and it should be 4 even 5 star worthy.

Great otoscope but after seeing reviews regarding the VPN, idk but it is a little worrisome. Still, the item was really great and work great as well.

It opens and installs its own vpn. They actively re-route your data to their servers. This thing opens a tunnel from your phone to their servers that all your traffic goes through.

Wants you to use there VPN for some reason why you need a VPN to connect to a camera is beyond me if I was you don't give it access. As for the actual device I can't fault it

Used 5 gigs of my mobile data... I used this app for 5 minutes but somehow used up so much throughout the day.. I force stopped the app and didn't let any background data. Don't know how this app still drained my data.
