Snapcast is a multi-room client-server audio player, where all clients are time synchronized with the server to play perfectly synced audio. It's not a standalone player, but an extension that turns your existing audio player into a Sonos-like multi-room solution. The server's audio input is a named pipe /tmp/snapfifo. All data that is fed into this file will be send to the connected clients. One of the most generic ways to use Snapcast is in conjunction with the music player daemon (MPD) or Mopidy, which can be configured to use a named pipe as audio output.

Great app. The snapcast software is very impressive, and has worked fantastically. This app is rough on the battery of my phone for some reason. If I have a setting wrong, maybe that's causing it. I might switch to the webui version.

Very useful app. I'm setting up a snapserver network with a Intel NUC box with Debian 10, and a raspberry pi as the first remote client. This so got me going quickly, allowing me to correct some snapserver / mopidy configuration errors on my part. The four stars instead of 5 is just that I haven't been using it long enough to say 5 stars, but it's great. Nothing bad to say at this point. 👍 Update 2020-9-10 Been using the app to control 4 snapchat clients. Rock solid. Done what I need. 👍

Very cool to have this option along with ths multiroom system Snap Server/Client. App however incidentally crashes and needs a very stable wifi - something I experience issues with due to BT/2.4GHz WiFi interference.

Just plain awesome! This is by far the quickest and easiest method out there to achieve a SONOS-like multiroom-synced audio solution for a fraction of the price. But it does not end there, as this app and its companion server software (which happens to be available for all sorts of platforms; including but not limited to Docker and the popular PiMusicBox OS) boast a ton of other features that prove to be highly valuable to both newbies in this field and advanced users and use cases alike. 5/5 ✅
