    I tried it with my kitchen cable box and it Worked for like 1 hour than kept saying "There was a problem that has occurred" everytime I tried to press a button going to the living room. Tried uninstalling and signing out and signing in but it still gave the same message. The app can work with my big kitchen cable box but can't work with the living room which is what i use most. If you have a big x1 cable box, i recommend getting it.

    My problem: I couldn't find my remote fora TV in the downstairs half of my house So I thought this would be helpful. HAHAHA no! I signed into my x1 acct, also have excellent internet (Thru Xfinity as well) and still wouldn't work. I read the FAQ's; no help.I'll just go get a new remote.This app might work for others but judging from the reviews I read..I'm thinking they are also not too impressed. Tighten up Xfinity. People count on your products to HELP THEM! Not do the opposite.. Uninstalled!

    Crashes upon opening and login. Nonfunctional Every time: get started... (already logged in so) continue anyway... pop up saying xfinity remote has stopped so I close... looped back to get started screen automatically... repeat ad nauseum. Uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect. Very frustrated because this was the only possible control pending the provision of a new remote from XFinity.

    I used to love this app but now can't change to on demand from it. My toddlers like to sleep in the living room and I was able to put on Starz or whatever movie from my phone no matter where I was in the house. There's no movie section under the guide.

    Used to work great, now it can't connect when I am at home on WiFi. Turn it off and it immediately works again. I'm using YOUR internet service and nothing with my WiFi changed before it broke. C'mon Comcast

    Edit: App won't even start anymore. It just errors out. Don't know why the low stars, it doses what it should. I pick a show and it plays on my TV. Easy edit of my favorite list. I use it daily.

    Just received new pkg of 100 channels today and installed this app to check out my new feature. Will only use old remote for on demand viewing now. This app is my new remote. Love it! So much more info, color, pictures, its SO much easier to select *FAVORITES by channels/networks and sort/filter programs, movies, networks. This app controls all the TVs! It's fun to change channels on people watching TV in the living room while I'm watching my TV! They don't know what's happening!!!😆

    Having 3 small kids one being an 18 month old who is obsessed with all electronics she isn't allowed to have my remotes tend to go missing regardless of her having 3 play remotes. (I swear she just wants the xfinity one because I don't want her to have it) so having the remote app has been a lifesaver! I have never had any issues with it and the app works quickly and is incredibly convenient.

    Error when launching app is gone. Can finally view guide, only problem is it shows 4 TV boxes when I only have 3. Still shows old box I returned. Also cannot name change non X1 box. Increased to 3 stars til everything fixed.

    Very useful but NEEDS improvement!!! First it's flakey, when setting favorite channels it kept going back even though there was an ok box. Second on the All Channels view with the favorite filter on, if a favorite Star is touched the channel vanishes with an ok to turn it off you have to take the filter off find the missing channel & add it back to favorites. Third you can setup recordings (useful if away from home and you forgot to preprogram) but not turn off a recording.

    Called support a month ago when this app stopped working. 45 minutes later and a little bit of bugging they finally did some research and discovered that there was a problem with the android version. Now it's a month later and it still hasn't been fixed. As a software developer - I think this is insane, are they stupid? Why can't they just republish the old version until they fixed the bug in this version? I use this app almost daily. I am getting so close to no longer paying $150+ a month!

    I can see the channel list and it won't let me do anything else all of a sudden! I deleted several times and it's doing the same thing! I have just noticed lots of ppl are having the same issue. I don't mean to be rude, but you have no problem disconnecting our service when our payments are late, shouldn't you work properly, when we are paying!! Please fix this, as I am now paying $150+/month to stare at a black screen!

    I really like this App, not only is a good channel guide but like the name says it's also a cable remote. Additionally, it also let's you set your DVR remotely from anywhere (as does the Streaming App), so if you remember while you're at work or somewhere that you forgot to record the game, you can set right from your phone. This app did have some technical issues that kept you from logging in, but at least in my case those issues have been cleared up, so I changed my rating back to a 5.

    Hey Xfinity, this is a great app! I have been using it for a while and I have yet to encounter any major bugs. I especially like the feature for DVR recordings and how it simplifies the process. The Filters feature is most useful for keeping favorite channels organized. I also enjoy this app's simplicity and minimalism. But, just one thing though... it needs a "Dark Mode Option." Yes Xfinity, that would be rather nice. Thanks!

    Update If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. After latest update app will no longer log in at all. Gives an error message that it incurred a problem and to retry or cancel. Incredibly frustrating. Used to work ok now I can see the guide but not change the channel. It just says "there is a problem tuning master bedroom. Please try again later. It's been this way for at least 3 days. I was already unhappy with the Android app now I'm disgusted with it. 1000% better on Apple.

    This is a case in point example of what happens when a company has very few, if any competitors. The app works occasionally, and has been a perpetual failure for most... as you can see by the ratings. However if you're at all late on a single bill payment, top priority immediately becomes disconnecting your service.

    It's very convinent, it has the remote functions and TV guide. However, it's very confusing at the fact that it doesn't immediately indicate that it has all the functions of the remote. When you open the app, you immediately see a TV guide, microphone icon, and settings on the top left corner. It gives off the impression that you are only able to select from the TV guide and speak through the microphone to find something. I suggest Xfinity replace the microphone icon with a remote icon.

    Worst app ever, Xfinity / Comcast will not even support this app, it will not work at all, do not bother downloading it, just another useless app that is put out by a major conglomerate business that does not care about their customers, but only how much money they can squeeze out of them. Already looking for other alternatives to Comcast, which is an overpriced service with nothing on their schedule of shows but reruns, & poor customer service !!!

    Good enough for what it is, as a guide/channel changer. The voice control being contingent on the type of subscription you have is laughable, though, and the text for the guide glitches when you try to swipe ahead to see what's coming up later in the day. Generous three stars.

    Need IR blaster for this to work at all in the slightest. The remote for my box broke somehow, idk nothing's physically wrong with it, it just don't work for some reason. I was stuck downloading this app and for the amount we pay for Comcast I expected something from this company to work. Why doesn't it go off of wifi? Why IR? Its a thing that doesn't exist in smart phones or tablets anymore, so why use it? Dumb dumb dumb f*** Comcast man.

    Works, but… please check out at&t uverse remote app for ideas on improving this app. At&t Remote app does everything the physical Remote does - on/off for box & tv, volume, channel guide w episode description, record, play dvr & on demand. This xfinity app is light-years behind. Uninstalling as it is just taking up space. 😔

    I have only used this app one time & it was an awesome experience!! While visiting my mom, we were looking at a very interesting program on a cable channel. It was getting late (after 11pm); I wanted to see how the program ended & I had to get home. Sooo, I pulled out my cellphone, downloaded the remote app & set my cable box (at home) to record that program. When I got home -- I was able to see the rest of the program! Isn't technology grand???!!!

    6/15/19 Show details stoped a while ago. tried to uninst all and reinstall, didn't help. No longer able to see if the show is new or what episode is on. 11/18/19 Just want to point out that there is STILL no fix for this and now all devices fail to load details. I love how service gets worse but cost goes up.

    This app is horrible. The guide doesn't ever work for me. It comes up in the app, but when I click on any channel or program, I get an error message every time. The voice prompt is hit or miss for functionality as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and it isn't very accurate with what it picks up.

    Just downloaded since our regular Xfinity remote is having issues (voice control works fine) but the buttons themselves have decided to no longer respond to touch, hence we're unable to "select" options or "exit" from any screen -____- Now to this remote app >> idk what type of crack it got its hands on, but I cant even get pass the tv guide screen. I just want to be great, but Xfinity really has been working my last everloving nerve today.

    Haven't tried this app for awhile. Used to work, now it doesn't. I can run system checks for other xfinity app, no issues. This one gives "An unknown error occurred during this request. Please try again later." Later made no difference!

    The app has never allowed me to select a tv station via guide so I had just been using the voice recorder to change channels. Now that no longer works. At this point it's completely useless. Please fix. Update: voice recorder is now functional again. Thank you!

    The only function that works for me is changing channels and even as embarrassing as it sounds I couldn't figure it out on my own I had to read another user's review to figure out that I have to click on the channel name itself and not the show name in order to be able to change channels because every time I clicked on the show name it would say all content unavailable please try again later no matter what show I would click on it would give me the same error message over and over

    Updated - They finally brought back the record feature, so updated stars. Works better than it did before. ----- Removing the record feature made this app almost pointless. Now that it continues to give nothing but error messages when trying to change channels, it is worthless.

    It used to work acceptably well. Now, it starts to open, but it fails when trying to find the tv and dvr. Clearing cache, forcing stop, and/or reinstalling the app doesn't fix the issue. Totally useless.

    This app constantly freezes and needs to be restarted. It doesn't have the ability to return to the previous channel, like I can with a remote. It doesn't display all the show info available, like when using the remote. I could do better, give me a call.

    Often has connectivity issues. Nice being able to see channel lists. The layout logic is bizarre at best. To get to the remote option you need to click on the microphone icon on the bottom tight.

    Missing a couple buttons that are on the remote. Adds the ability to type text in which is nice. For Xfinity garbage this is the best of the worst. Stay away from Xfinity and everything associated with them.

    Just like many others, the app NO LONGER WORKS. I keep getting "ERROR: An unknown error occurred during this request. Please try again." Hope the developers get the app fixed. I found it useful WHEN it worked. Update -12/04/2019 Yay!!! It's working again.
