WHY
No one's got time to swipe, click or stare at a device in the middle of a sailing regatta, Tack-Tastic is designed to display all the useful data you can get from the GPS at a glance without changing views. Use for Racing, Tuning and Practice
BOAT SPEED
Because of the small inaccuracies in GPS, yacht speeds displayed can be of poor quality and limited use. Tack-Tastic uses an advanced Kalman filter, specifically tuned for yachts, to provide a accurate and smooth speed reading. Two minutes of speed history are displayed in an auto-scaling trend line so that the effect of a change in trim can be seen, with one look.
COURSE
Accurate and smooth course over ground data is also calculated using the Kalman Filter. Tack-Tastic displays this using an intuitive compass display, showing not only your yachts course but also how your course has been changing over time. Lifts and Knocks are easy to see and easy to interpret while sailing.
TACK DETECTION
Tack-Tastic will detect when your boat has tacked and make an estimate of the current wind direction. Tack-Tastic can use this to provide the compass in "wind up" mode to make tactical decisions easier while sailing upwind
