Reviews From google play store

The biggest issue is the quality of maps. I bought the TomTom maps and the maps within the city when there is traffic look horrible!! Its like a 10 year old did his best to draw a city map with colors that have gone out of the boundaries!! The roads underneath the overpass hide the purple guidelines!! Then despite setting up the vehicle parameters it has led me to such narrow and hilly roads. Choosing bus profile makes it to turn 10 min route into 20 min route along the freeways. I regret buying

Annoying when it crashes on exit and the next time it starts a check of maps must be done. That takes ages. The check should be optional. Impossible to use without a human navigator next to the driver interpreting the instructions, which are often woefully inaccurate. Instead of instructions such as "turn right in 500 metres" it would be better to have "in 500 metres turn right". I have never used a commercial product so cannot compare.

I installed Map Factor (designated "Navigator" in the app drawer), and purchased the maps for Canada (all provinces). When I entered my brother's rural address in Springbrook, Ontario, in SIX different GPS Navigation apps, Map Factor was the only one of the six that returned No Results. Each of the other five found the address and, when shortest driving time was specified, all five provided the same route to there for me. Based on this single negative experience, I am not impressed.

Well it's ok really.... I can't say prices are all that fantastic, more info would be nice. Like if I upgraded to the tomtom maps will the updates then be free when they roll out? Can't seem to find a volume control? Even though paid for a few of the extras the app doesn't delete the option rather just changes them to say purchased.. and always seems to ask for a google rating and option to donate when closing.

Very fast customer support, allowed me to transfer my paid maps to a new phone (android), and I honestly didn't have to really do anything myself. GPS works best with the offline, multi line search. One line doesn't really like to work though, and google search doesn't work at all (NOT the developer's fault). Really nice, very useful app!!! Changed from 2-star to 5.

At beginning this was great app tested over 30000km all over Europe with no map or POI mistake. With last update from 20 July, app crashes every 1 hour.. Now, despite Google problems, you cannot search offline multistep..App started constantly to crush every minute. It is not good recommendation for buying the app. I would recommend clear uninstal..

Doesnt work. Paid for the premium version and its so slow to connect to gps, it always tells you it cant find a route even if you are on main roads. I want my money back. I stand by my review. I have done everything possible to make it work. For the money you charge it should be working the same as Google maps, Waze and Tomtom go apps. Refund still required.

Good app, used it for years. You can download one map and it covers a whole country, so you can use it offline anywhere in that country. Search capabilities are not so good, that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5

NEW update 15.09.19 and still same problem with other xiaomi phone too - How can I add my routes(gpx) created earlier on different phone with your app older version? It just Impossible even if I click on gpx file or try to add with different app from my system. Xiaomi mi max3, Global 10.2 stable. Couldn't find apps to open this file. Message received. I have updated Navigator - same, deleted Navigator still same, remove gpx and send it again via Bluetooth nothing helps. Thank you.

Great app and fantastic support. I love the layout of the navigation view as it's so clear and easy to read. The speed limit information is a good size and the fact that you can use tom tom maps is great. Add to that amazing support for a couple of questions I had. I thoroughly recommend this app.

Very good application. I use it by years without any issues. Unfortunately lately found impossible to choose an address in Bucharest. Once choosing the city applicattion is stopping. For all other cities I tried is working fine.

Looks promising but loses a star for not allowing tom tom maps purchased through play store. Developer provides timely and informative responses. Enjoy the features provided in free version. Will ultimately purchase map if those single use store bought credit cards will suffice as payment method... as I have no interest in PayPal or using my credit/bank cards of 20 years.

Keeps crashing. Since reporting these issues i have to say that the support i have received has been impressive. Hope this cures the problem after downloading update they sent me. Problem cured. The app works fine now. Well done.

I dont know whats wrong with you. Why cant I rotate map with fingers, circle rotation????????? Without this its all useless. Arrows which shows one point direction streets could be bolder. I dont know, such a good but useless navigation. You sad rotate phone??? Did you see any other navigation app? I want to rotate map with two fingers left and right a circle rotation. I dont want fixed map. Why fixed?? Whats the problem?????

Hopeless. I wanted a GPS navigator for my phone. All this app does is let you buy maps for which it provides no operating system. Either I'm really stupid an non tech savvy, or this app is a waste of time. Spent hours trying to work out what I'm missing!

Spy. BEWARE!!!! Why need to access to my photo, media, files. ..??? Why need to make and manage phone calls???? There are many GPS like :"Here" ..."Google"...."MapQuest".... never ask that permissions. All they need is only location. AVOID THIS APP.

Great! The only complain t i have is that I found it hard to exit. Thus only 4 stars

Off line one line look up is working great, thank you!!! I've used this for years on my motorcycle and in my car out of state, it's always got me where I go!

Maybe it seems too complicate on the beginning, but it's pretty user friendly when you use it frequently.

Google search option doesn't work. But this app has accompanied us over the last 6 years to all unknown places in Europe. Thanks a lot!!!

I like this navigator up until the tablet sleep option blanked the screen! This happened despite the screen always on option being ticked.

First impressions are, I think I'm going to like this... I need to replace Google maps..... Too slow and clunky.... This looks great. I'll test tomorrow.

I've found that the directions provided by this app are excellent, and the free maps keep getting better.

It requires to manage my phone calls and my files photos and others why you need that all you doing is maps that's all. I dont like it when when trying to manage my calls and check my files.

A few updates ago maybe 2, it gives too much detail about carrying on straight ahead, can you revert to the way it was before

Always or almost always up to date , maintained by the likes of you and me, this just has to be the best thing one can offer in the navigation world. I absolutely love it.

Nice navigation app, using for a few months and so far no issues. Thanks

Was good with Google search, not much use without. Used it for a few years for business travel.

Best experience ever. Easy to read entering in manual destinations is a breeze.

Although I have only just downloaded this application I am very impressed. My old Garmin nav. is now redundant!

Excellent and once used you find it very accurate be taking abroad to try out shortly Using it on free setting

Awesome app very useful, uses no mobile data/internet for navigation.

I don't have a data plan, so this works great for me! I've used it in eight different countries.

I didn't test it yet. 😁 my choice was based on a fact that this is a free offline app and maps.

Good app, especially when you do not have data.

Easy to us, good route planning facility, accurate and nice.

Used to work, after the latest update, not anymore. Keeps restarting

Please add voice features telling the speed when navigating on Bicycle and Motorcycle Profile.

"Can't find the route" - that's what I get after last update.

Good, but not perfect. For truck driving in the UK it is very good value for money, however you have to be careful, as will send you into roads not suitable for HGVs. This is expected, but well known makes of satnavs for truckers are not making so many mistakes. London is the worst, where sat new takes 44 tonner into residential roads... plenty of 7.5t restrictions not taken into consideration as well. For me, it is 3 stars out of 5, but due to the price, I will give 4 stars.

Returning 5 stars. It looks like problem was solved.

So far, so good! Just started to use, maps render great on my Samsung tablet. Keep you posted.

Not shortest / more practical navigation most time (open street maps version).

It is a wonderful app ,and very easy to use , i recommend

Good, solid for GPS only offline navigation.

OnAndroid6. It actually was better a year ago. Easier to search and plot addresses. But it is still a very good app. I am more satsfied with free maps than I was with tom tom. Works better on my phone than google.maps. Possible to use maps offline. Also works on gps without WiFi. Works on your downloaded maps also if you don't update. Strongly recommend updating still.Haven't found any better.

Wow, this is so frustrating after Google maps. The interface seems not updated in the last 12 years. I used to have Garmin app for the short while they supported it. I thought Garmin was bad. This Mapfactor is SOOO much worse ( i have a paid version with tomtom maps) . Save yourself frustratration and splurge on roaming. Another dissent option - Maps.Me app. In 2 minutes i was able to plan a trip in Europe. The same trip which took me 20 minutes to give up in Mapfactor.

Replaces the terrible app that came with my phone very nicely. Battery hungry, as sat nav always is. Easy to see the route overview. There is no help so it's a matter of guessing what the icons mean. There are many options - I think?! - but without help I cannot work them out. But it is easy to use as is (I did download local maps first.) And then I found the instruction manual on the website - no more guessing, it's easy to understand! Certainly it's way better than the old app.

When I first gave feedback I was fully negative because it simply didn't work for me. After a lot of trialing and several download attempts I found the maps were corrupt due to network problems. Now I'm happy to eat humble pie. The maps are nearly but not quite close to perfect. The interface works well overall but is not as intuitive as it might be. I need to think that through; I'll communicate directly with the developer in due course.

Very solid app and will suit most users needs. However I have a lot of favourite locations and while you can group them into folders there is no way to search favourites or nest folders to organize them better. Also it would be nice to be able to see the distance until the turn after next so I can choose the lane to get into. Often times I have to make a tight manuever if it's closer than expected or switch back and forth between lanes if the next turn is further than expected.

Not automatic and the app is too slow, going through pages before you actually navigate No route recalculation. Cannot detect postcode readily. Could take you to the wrong address or take you but state different location. To make for easier view move the information on the lower left of the screen to the top left corner.

This is the absolute BEST navigation app for Android. As a long time user, it's helped me many times and is great for various reasons. The company is first rate for customer care to, as they sorted out a query I wanted help with recently whilst I was setting up a new tablet. A quick email to them and they sorted out my problem. You have the option to either use the maps for free that come with it, or buy to Tom maps. There are a great many features for customising.100% score!!!

I was quite impressed by this app and was about to buy the full version. However, I tested it between 2 local postcodes and it tried to take me down a footpath. Not even a track, a footpath. I have tried it on the various vehicle settings and it still routes the footpath.

App is okay.. As a new driver i decided to purchase the full version for £19.99. The main reason for this being is so i can clearly see through thr Navigation mode what the speed limits are on this road as i travel all over for work. However it dosen't seem to show me accurate speed limits it only shows me the numbers "49" "67" and another low number. i am disappointed by this and feels it needs fixing otherwise ill be emailing regarding a refund.

Concern about maps. A road near me is dead ended from both entrances yet mapfactors map indicates you can drive from one end to the other. Other maps corrected this at least 5 years ago. How old are these maps? Once you set a waypoint it will also apply to a new destination. A simple warning would fix this when entering a new destination. I really like it except for these issues. The support team quickly advised me how to contribute to maps. The waypoint issue has been fixed. I've upgraded!

The app has all functions required. I like the fact that you can work out routes with intermediate points and save them for later use. The current versions have a marked speed improvement over earlier versions. The map display used to be rather slow, now it is much faster. Maybe you don't notice the difference, if you use a high end phone.

I love the fact that you can define the roads that it will NOT take you down. This is a must for those of us that don't like being sent down farm tracks. Only looses a point because you can see features that you can't change... but I can't recommend this any more than, even given that.

Mapfactor GPS free installed perfectly, the maps & sounds downloaded quickly as well. After a minor bit of software familiarisation, especially vehicle setup, Never crashed once on a Galaxy S5. Then dragged the map over to France, & used the map to add a couple of favourites. We use French National roads a lot. It's directions are spot on. Added one way point & we got our preferred route, with no errors, unlike Navfree ! Tomas many thanks for prompt reply to the no toll roads option question

Sorry but doesn't load just crashes on load up.

Since Google Search was removed, latest version navigation seems less reliable. Not sure if both are connected. Had to revert to a printed map today as Mapfactor kept cutting toutes short and sending to completely different destination to the one searched for and found. Luckily we had a rough idea of the route, so just ignored Mapfactor instructions and went by AA printed map.

I really like this app. I know to look for cross streets now before trying to enter address. Seems to be getting more Street Numbers. When this happens...solid 5 stars. I would like to adjust or disable speed warning. Any way to do so?

Interface not that easy to understand. Otherwise quite Ok.

one-line search is not able to find anything until I click it on the map. thats quite useless. if I still need internet connection for proper search why would I need offline navigator? you need to make dozen of moves while switching between different screens to build a route with 3 points again I was using stepped search

Free, reliable without using internet

I've been using this app for many years now and can't say a single bad thing about it. Great GUI and just a beautiful rendered 3D map view, extremely user-friendly, thought through features, fair in-app purchases. Not much else to say, really. Way better than all the other free (and not so free) navigation apps imho...and I've tried many of those before I found MapFactor's Navigator.

Many thank for your help. All. Sorted and working again. 5 stars given. Brilliant app. Thanks .

navigator has saved me on more than one occasion when i had no data, and i find it useful for walking routes also. once or twice I've no idea why it has taken me on a long detour somewhere. I'd like it to be more obvious what mode (car or foot) I'm in. Also exit should mean exit. Instead the app goes to the background and continues to drain battery, unless you close the background task.

Hard work... sometimes it will talk, sometimes not, sometimes it will say a bit then shut up. Like "roundabout" or "200 yards". some days it is fine. Great app if you have a passenger to read it for you... Needs lots of improvements, sorry. Not my phone, others work fine. EDIT...NOW it has stopped talking to me altogether, won't send anything via bluetooth. I'll give it another go then probably go back to sygic..

I really like this app. I use it extensively while driving around Europe. It has a hiccup every now and then or GPS signal is not always great, but that could be because of my phone itself. A word of warning, when upgrading Android to 5.1 or higher, I was unable to use the app properly. I couldn't even download or delete maps as they were stored on the SD card. I don't know why the developers do that. It became very frustrating, as I then had to delete the app and reinstall it.

4 months on Pixel 3, MapFactor Navigator version 5.0.57: this review addresses navigation interface defects in version 5+ only. A status bar now appears at the bottom of the screen, below the row of Info Panels. Two problems here — (1) All text is cut off at the bottom of this bar; there is no evident option to reduce the size of the text, possibly to make it fit properly. (2) Underway the text scrolls, which I, at least, find deeply distracting. There should be an option to turn off this animation. The Info Panels are an excellent feature, but two problems here as well. (1) The 'Time' panel displays seconds, which substantially reduces the size of hour and minutes, making 'Time' significantly less legible. Are seconds really necessary in this display? And (2), 'Time to Destination' simply does not work. 'Time in Destination', however, does. I would find the former preferable. Here's hoping future updates remedy all these shortcomings. To close on a positive note, the implementation of the optional integral Compass is brilliant.

i would rate the free version as 5 out of 5 but! after several years i decided to buy the bundle pack which means it will work out 3 different routes for you to choose. trouble is that it uses so much memory that my phone freezes every time. all i want is to go back to the free version which works out 1 route and works brilliantly. i emailed and was told it was the gps of my (brand new) phone. i uninstall the app, delete app history, reinstall and it reinstalls with the paid for bundle still

Excellent app. The developers have vastly improved this app over the years. I much prefer it over Google Maps since you can precisely control which streets you would like to drive on, thus avoiding being led on a small country road as Google Maps likes to do.

Alert "you have selected pedestrian mode, but your speed showing that you're moving on transport" is very nice feature. But why you don't suggest proper mode? And there's no indication of current mode.

Take a while to set up the vehicle profile then you will experience the BEST offline navigation. Edit, with the Google search function now removed it's totally useless. Until this is resolved look elsewhere.

It could be a very useful app, but when you update the maps if you lose the internet or you use any other app during the download, you lose everything that you have downloaded so far. You go back to it and you have to start all over again. It does not seem to keep anything on a temporary file. So from a 3, 4, star I feel it to be more a 1 star. ANSWER TO MAPFACTOR : my conclusion is not incorrect. My data usage is clear.

So far easy to use and has been a good app

Having tried many navigation apps, this one beats them all. It has all the features of my dedicated satnav device (which I no longer bother using) and is free, although you do have the option of buying TomTom maps if you wish. It now has its own search engine which is really easy to use, although you can choose to use others if you prefer. A HUGE plus for me is the developer's technical support, which is always very helpful and very fast. Overall the best app I have used, satnav or otherwise!

I've had this app a while. It's a bit fiddly to set up at first but a fab app otherwise. You dont need to have data on to use, as the maps are on your phone. A few ads but not intrusive. Recommend using the google search to get your destination as its easier... especially if you want to go to a park, museum or shop etc. rather than an address. RECOMMENDED.

With TomTom maps the best app and I tested a lot of others, so I know what I am talking about. I bought 2 licences for my 2 phones. Perfect service, no problem transfering the old licence to a new phone. Thank you for this perfect app!

This used to be a great application. Now it takes forever to plan a trip. The application freezes and sometimes to get out of the application, the phone has to be restarted. Often receive a notification, "Waiting for Valid GPS Signal". I have no GPS Signal issues when using Google Maps. Too bad about the glitches. It could be a super app. . . . . . . . The developer quickly responded . . . . . I did what was suggested. . . . . . .It made no difference

Ruined the app with the new update removing Google support, offline one step has never worked, offline multistep is utterly and totally incomplete, all Google options disabled. Throw this garbage app in the trash, it no longer has a purpose. Uninstall it and demand refunds for anything you bought.

Had another go to download maps. Successful this time. Now seems to work well when tried out locally. One odd route arose when I picked Wightlink ferry terminal Portsmouth from the list in the app. The proposed route went from Gloucester to Southampton ferry port then by ferry to Isle of Wight followed by a drive across the island and on to another ferry into Portsmouth. I then started again and put in the road address in Portsmouth, this produced the expected route by road all the way..

I hate sat nav, I use maps. old school. but cities are becoming too hard so gave this a go. my stress levels dropped dramatically riding motorbikes round new cities. save yourself the money and give a try before you shell out for an expensive unit. it may not have all the bells and whistles but it's free, what ya expect! I love it

cant get it to work, it wont let me input any destinations/address. I may be doing something wrong but I've tried numerous ways but I don't think it likes me!😓 After the developer gave me some help, it appears I had not properly installed the UK map, I did as they said and now it loves me, i haven't properly used it yet, but from what I've seen it's going to be very good!

App suddenly stopped working when it switched from day color to night color. Device Lenovo Tab M10. Had to stop vehicle and restart application. If that would happen when looking for directions while driving, it would not be safe. This bug needs fixing.

Used it on many occasions and in at least 4 different countries and never had any problems navigating. Some versions were prone to crashing or freezing, but it always worked out in the end. Best free navigation app I've seen so far, the search-function could definitely be improved though.

app is really nice, only complaint goes to missing / wrong speed limits ,I know that that cant be addressed to nav.maker than to osm map vendor but in the end that affect the app itself, would be nice to enlarge data fields at the bottom with eventual possibility to place larger speed number in separate space on the map (removed from the bottom data fields), you know not all of us are young to see small numbers while driving and its not convinient to put glasses while driving too. thank you

it's really too much work using this app. While the features are nice, I find it almost impossible to download map updates without having to try half a dozen times. Usually the update just never starts and eventually the app will freeze. Three stars because it works smoothly, and I made the mistake of purchasing it own my own before I really gave it a good test.

views navigating fine as are voice commands. interface about 50:50 good : non-intuitive. routes need to be checked before you actually use it. I can look for routes to somewhere I know and it takes me on ludicrous routes miles out of the way. have to put in way points to go sensible route. I tested the way back from a destination and it added about 15 minutes extra to a 25 min trip by taking me down tiny lanes instead of 5 min to main road. routing is TERRIBLE

This Navigator used to be very reliable. But I had a problem using it after the last update. I entered a new destination. It found the address. I clicked on the new destination to navigate to. I started driving and realised it was taking me to the wrong address. It was taking me to a saved destination. I tried 3 times and 3 times it took me to the wrong destination. 3 times it chose a saved destination instead of the new one I entered. I had to use Google Maps to navigate to the destination.

An excellent mapping app. The routes, setting them up, using them, is an easy feature to use, colour contrast is good, stability is well above average compared to other navigation apps I've tried and so always I return to this one. Occasionally it gets something wrong but so does my Garmin. Occasionally it can't find a route whereas my Garmin does, using the same coordinates but this usually only happens in carparks and once on the main highway, it recalculates quickly. Thanks.

Probably one of the best free navigation apps that I used. Never got lost with it, like the night mode and the long list of supported languages for the voice directions. The only thing I don't like is that it randomly crashes no matter which device or Android version I use.

Downoaded this to test before travelling to Iceland as it is the only free app where you can set coordinates which are needed for some of the locations. I managed to set 2 and then I tried to set the airport by name but it couldn't find it. I also set a location on the map by accident but could not find a way to delete it. Not very easy to use and it keeps saying at the bottom that it can't find a valid GPS which is strange as I live in the south of the Uk. I will attempt to use it in Iceland.

I'm a software creator myself and i have to say this is a great app with almost no bugs, there is one but I'm in conversation with the developers to look at it. there are faults in the free maps that you come across occasionally but they are the public domain maps and not the developers fault (hey a proportion of the middle of Liverpool has a 70 limit, err no). for the vast majority of trips it's great. i suspect some scousers are messing about over the speed limits

So far, so good does everything I could want but after use and closing the app it continues to run in the background, eating battery/memory/data(?) not good. Force Stop seems the only solution at the moment. Other than this failure to behave after use, it's great.

Crippled by limited search capability as it no longer allows Google searches. This is especially annoying as I paid for the premium features. Shame really, it was a nice app to use previously.

Seems to be great for navigation but... trying to enter the location / destination is unnecessarily difficult. It's a shame because the rest of the app is superb!

I have been using MapFactor for a few years. Using it off line is a bonus. The free maps could also be used with Google maps. Good app.

The Philippine map has bug cant use it

Search function not well implemented. Example: Searching a POI in Spain, choose country, choose city, choose type POI, etc. But when not found, one step back takes you back to the beginning. Again choose country..., etc. BAD! Navigation is OK, 5 stars and payment if search function improved. Other point is that OSM map downloads are huge. Too much superfluous info on them I guess, not your fault. Cheers!
