Reviews From google play store

At the moment in japanese the last 10 lvls or so the translations are really bad, it's like movie subtitles, regretably I can relay on what I 've learn here in the last sections, also there is the stories sections, do you have to use so much language that you don't teach.... I would like to hear seki kun, there is not enough practice to memorize things in the long term, plus should be included, and the review section is either useless or I don't know how to use it. I like the app still.

링고디어 사랑해요! Very fun and simple to use. I've used LingoDeer for the past 3.5 months and it has kept me motivated in learning the Korean language. DuoLingo is not a great app for Asian languages at the moment, as it leaves a lot to be desired. LingoDeer explains grammar and sentence structure in much more depth and the voice recordings are superb. If you're learning Korean, Chinese, or Japanese, LingoDeer is the best. No questions! 감사합니다! ^^

I use the app to learn some Korean before the first trip to South Korea and I have to say, that the app gives useful words and structures right from the very beginning with good grammar and usage explanations. But I took one star out because some of the audios seem wrong and sometimes I have to check the prononciation in a dictionary to be sure I'm not making things up. But overall, great app.

Used to be amazing. Now you get 1 intro lesson and everything is behind a paywall. There's no warning either. I'd be happy to continue using the app if there's paid subscription for things like downloading lessons for offline use, hints, expert assistance etc. I get that ads don't help with revenue however a paywall won't attract people to the app. The devs quickly respond to reviews but care more about money than user retention. Memrise has premium but don't hide courses behind a paywall.

It is a really great app with great design, nice and slow explanations and thanks to it, I managed to learn the Korean alphabet within only an hour. It really motivated me to learn Korean, until it told me to pay as soon as I started to enjoy this app. As much as I would like to support this app, I'm only a student and don't have the money to afford this as a hobby. Still, I can really recommend it to anyone who is able to pay. It's a great app and I might get it again when I have a job!

This app is great. I had trouble with daily reminder notifications at first but now they seem to be working. Not sure Jo's far this app can take you to learning a language to fluency but I'm enjoying it so far and taking it st my own pace which is great!

The different types of questions make it a bit more interesting than other language learning apps and I really like how you can toggle romaji and hiragana in the kanji. In my opinion each lesson is too long and repetitive making everything feel slow and not allowing you to go at your own pace, though. It also does not recognize some kanji and cannot recognize the spaced out numbers (1,2,3 etc.) at all which can be frustrating. Also, testing out has only worked 1/3 times I tried it.

Best language learning app ever!. 한국어、日本語、中文! Tried all 3 of them and I'm amazed. I bought one-time multipass without hesitated. Other apps only give you a month subscription for the price of a year in LingoDeer. Exercises are perfect for beginners to intermediates (I don't have opinion on fluent learners since I havn't got to the level yet). Also, adjustable learning interface. A must have for language learners. Well done!

I've been using this app for a WHILE. I took a short break and came back and saw that there is a membership, and I thought I was getting addition help/info for the languages of choice, so I used my credits to purchase a month to help me with studies, but I couldn't find any differences from what was already there. Is the membership for something else? I see folks saying this is now a paid app. Does that mean after my month is up I won't be able to access my progress at all? Did I miss an email?

I really like this app and it makes learning new languages entertaining and I like that. I'd definitely recommend it. I understand that you need to make money out of it and have to make people pay in order to keep it going, but it's sad when someone like me, who their parents are against them learning Korean and stuff so they learn it secretly but can't pay for it.. unfortunately I'll have to delete this app since I can't pay for it yet..

Pronunciation and explanation is so clear, The study guide is so systematic, study flash cards is provided,so it is definitely a good tool for you to learn any language from zero.

I feel this app does so much more to explain grammar points and explanations on how sentences are broken down and helps you memorize words!! Definitely I learned more with this than Duolingo or Memrise.

It really is a great learning plat form l. My only problem was some off the lessons not loading dispite me being connected to internet. I uninstalled and redownloaded it again with the hopes that it was just a temp problem but its still there

Really great app! Gives grammar, sentence structure and vocab and a lot of other apps lack at least one of these. Thanks for the great app!!

It is very good. But it doesn't respond when i want to hear the audio of the words.I'll give 5 stars if you will fix the audio problem now.please hurry.

I'm doing this late at night, because I'm rating it before bed. I'm learning Japanese relatively quickly, after I've had almost no luck with language in the past. Maybe it'll work for you too, IDK try it.

This is a really great app to use if you're looking to learn a new language, however with the language I'm learning at the moment won't let me continue further unless I pay for a membership thing so I would appreciate if you made it a bit more accessible without having to pay for anything

(Learning German) Very thorough and fairly priced compared to other language learning apps. The in-depth explanations about grammar and sentence structure are very helpful.

Excellent app! Goes into a lot of detail and reinforcement learning the phrases and explaining the content rather than just skimming over it all. Highly recommend for learning a new language

Very good and useful app! I usually never feel motivated to learn Korean for more than two days, but it's my third day with the app and I'm still going. Very cute and enjoyable, I love the mascot and the "review" tab is great.

Really like their style and methodology of teaching Korean. Easy, fun and efficient. Would love to see Hebrew added to the roster of languages.

It was great i have managed to expand my knowledge in korean by ten folds. I love the app. People should consider getting the app if they plan to learn a next language.

Guys, it's very cool that the app has "disable all audio" function. So many places and circumstances where it comes in handy... But it's a shame that it does not disable ALL audio, so every now and then there'll be a "listen and choose" exercise which you just can't skip. And choosing between breaking the silence and forfeiting review progress makes you feel... you know. Still 5*, but if you could introduce a proper silent mode, that would be great.

Where's the Kanji in new update? I started with Japanese 1 course which was free and was enjoying the learning and suddenly all the chapters have become paid. Disappointed with this move!

Due to advertisements I cannot continue my lessons. This is highly disappointing. I've updated the app and still no changes have been made.

The content is really good ! Speech is done by a human and there grammar lessons and explanation. Sadly, the interface is difficult to use, buttons are too small, there should be colors and bold/italic to emphasize what is expected from me and what is the exercise. Also, users nowadays try different apps so having a way to "jump" to the appropniate level would be a competitive advantage. But the quality is here ! An anti-duolingo.

I just love this app. It's a totally different app which gives each and every information about a language. The animations are beautiful but sometimes may confuse. The features of revision is very good and which help in improving the weak points. I like the way it connects the vocabulary words with grammar. It teaches different words and grammar at the same time.

Really awesome! I love that they actually have you type out the Japanese on your own! Would highly recommend!! =D

Extremely expensive and competitive apps offer the same experience for free. While I understand the reasoning seeing in other reviews, I don't think it adds up. How is it that Duolingo can offer the same for free? Not to mention a much cleaner and simple UI. I also feel one lesson isn't enough to get a feel for the app. Maybe consider making lessons free but extras (the entire review section) paid. Along with the other features. Or even limiting you to a lesson a day.

I get it, you have to make money to pay the bills. I don't have a problem with you needing people to pay a fee to access your lessons but you could have at least made it clear from the get go that pretty much all of your content is behind a subscription wall. It's easy, just gray out or add a lock symbol to what isn't accessible. Otherwise, the system seems decent to me. Record and playback was very useful to hear how you sound. Not many other apps have that.

It seems good though the full paid is extremely expensive (yes I already know there are the cheaper monthly subscriptions.) Yes I've already read you can't survive off of ads (please don't post that copy paste, I've read it on the other reviews.) But it would be nice if there was a way to pay for the one language you are learning in full. If I'm not going to use the other languages I don't see why I should buy them all when I only want to learn one. I still think it's good despite price.

Why does the app ask for subscription suddenly? The app was great and i could learn so much. But now i had to switch to another app.

Great app and has taught me loads but I'm disappointed that you have to pay loads for 95% of the app

Downloaded and bought the full package for Japanese 1 and 2 Japanese 1 is pretty good; Japanese 2 needs a little work. It is rather good compared to Duolingo. They do a somewhat good job at teaching the "why and how" and doesn't just shove words in your face and expects you to just figure it out. However, the pronunciation is "eh". The "way" and speed at which the speaker talks is ridiculous sometimes. Real japanese people don't speak like how this app does. When you tap on a word, it gives you a definition, but, sometimes, it doesn't tell you enough and only gives you a one word definition. For example, it tells you that [せりふ] means "lines", but it doesn't explain what the context is: a queue? a drawing? a path? No, it means written lines, as in a script. This is especially an issue in Japanese 2. Japanese 2 introduces waaay too many words per lesson and my retention rate plummeted after Japanese 1. The module names are also kind of dumb, sometimes. Like in Japanese 2, there is one called "objects". A more appropriate name would have been "Descriptive Clauses" or "Subordinate Clauses", because that was what the topic was. I downloaded this as an already intermediate student of JP. I wanted it as reinforcement. It is okay as supplementary material. Not sure if I would have liked it as a beginner. On a technical level, the app was okay. Kind of annoying to use sometimes; being able to choose question types would have been neat. Though, the ability to choose romaji, kana, and kanji, or some combination, is really cool.

Excellent! The best app, hands down. It has the perfect balance of teaching and practice, with native voices. Lessons are cut into appropriate-size sections (which I find a problem with Genki - the chapters have too much material, and no clear way of chunkifying it). The free material gets you through approximately a semester of Japanese. I finished Japanese1 six months ago, and coming back for a review, I find I've retained a lot because of the amount of practice incorporated into the app.

It is an exquisite app. However, it really isn't 'free learning'. Everytime I try to just start a lesson, it just shows the premium ads and I couldn't even learn. My suggestion is that instead of making pay $30 after they've settled with the app, you should just make the app $30 so that those who really want to pay that amount if money to learn a new language will buy the app the the ones who aren't willing to, to download another app.

I had an account before (but I can't seem to recover my account or anuthing) so I had to start over. When I did, I can't go passed the "first year 30% off" subscription, and I was only able to pass the nationality portion. Is this something new bc I didn't have go deal with this before when I was on the negation and this didnt happen before. I didnt have to have the premium thingy before, but now I do and I can't go past the nationality without paying. Is this a new feature where I have to pay?

i am only learning japanese on this app. foundation for my japanese was laid by Duolingo, therefore i knew to read the kana. form there this app provides much material to grasp japanese at a higher pace. it is well planned and helps in learning the language fast. it will be good if they could provide us an opportunity to type our answers in the kana. the app is a superb opportunity to learn japanese and it is fully free too. what more one can expect? keep it up lingodeer. Hey,I am learning chines

I thought japanese would be impossible, but im picking up on everything pretty quickly. once you learn to read the characters lingodeer does a great job introducing the language. the little grammar lessons at the beginning of each mini lesson remind me of learning english when i was a kid and keeps everything in bite sized chunks.

Love it. Feature-packed, better than many premium language learning apps (and I've tried several). I love that you could practice pronunciation by recording your own voice and comparing it to the lesson's pronunciation, and you could download exercises for offline practice. There's also script writing exercises built-in. I know they're pushing for the adoption of Lingodeer Plus but I still prefer this one! Download Lingodeer if you're serious about learning and practicing languages on your own.

So far the best language learning app I've found. It doesn't go too fast, it teaches entire sentences as opposed to just words (I'm looking at Drops here), and doesn't ask you to create an acid t every two seconds. Although having an account makes it easier to use the app on different devices. I also like the clean layout and design. Would definitely recommend.

I studied French 25 years ago and wanted a refresher. This app was more enjoyable than duolingo, and I really enjoyed the grammar content. But I hit the paywall before I could really decide if the app was worth paying for to me (especially the expensive $90 lifetime membership) so I think I'll be moving on to other language apps. It's too bad; I think I may have really liked this one.

I downloaded the app without having any real expectations and was pleasantly surprised. One of the things that stood out to me was the user friendly interface. I only just started using the app, but I have yet to run into any problems with it. The lessons themselves are very informative and the little info cards that show up when you inspect a new word are very detailed and help a lot with understanding why you use the words, and not just how to pronounce and write them. Great app so far!

I have been using for Spanish tutorials now. it is pretty useful, the only opportunity I see for the developers is that the Spanish taught is European Spanish and may differ in a lot of lessons from New World Spanish. It would be nice to be able to select New World vs Old or something like that. ***updated*** Had to 6 drop down a star because I have speed using this so much because I am not trying to learn Castilian Spanish and it was actually disrupting some of my learning (vosotros vs uds).

When they say best Korean,Japanese learning they mean it!If you're trying to learn Korean,Japanese or Chinese this is best app. It actually uses voices of Native speakers and don't sound like robots as much as Duolingo and it actually teaches you relevant language lessons. However, one thing I'm really disappointed about is some of the vocab used like 당신(A way of saying "you" that should never be used in real life.)

Great app for learning Asian languages. I have tried other apps to learn Japanese, but this one really breaks down the grammar and sentence structure. The European languages are somewhat lacking however, and there should be more content for them. For that reason, I must sadly take away a star.

Excellent for learning languages like japanese, korean or chinese, but being french and decent in english, I can say it's definitely not the best app for these ones. Translations are sometimes a bit off and the sentences don't always make sense. But I'm currently learning korean and checked a bit the japanese and chinese lessons, and I find them really good. You can easily learn to read, you can practice your listening and even your oral skills, and I find the course structure really well done.

I know, I understand and I support that you need the money and you should have it, it's just that now I can't enter anywhere, the add won't let me open anything apart of the first lesson "nationality" and I don't know if its because some new app managment or a bug? This app is good, really good, and that's why I'm so concerned about it, maybe I sounded a bit off but I really like this app.

Was a wonderful app, much better than Duolingo, but now I can't get to the next part of the basic because of a paywall.

I have been learning Japanese for nearly 4 year's, and have struggled to find a learning app that actually teaches you Japanese. Duolingo though free, never gave me the skills to understand Japanese grammar and to be able read kanji. Once I found Lingo Deer a year ago and started using it daily, I've seen my Japanese improve immensely. The grammer explanation cards in Lingo Deer are incredible. I would never go back to Duolingo and will gladly pay for Lingo Deers top quality courses.

Fun app and easy to use. But why would I pay 40 dollars a year when there are many other apps that teach the same things for free?

if i make any mistake there is no second chance. you shoul add it cause sometime we know the answer but we tap on tte wrong thing on accident and then it shows we are weak at the progress report.

I've always wanted to learn Japanese and this app offers a great mix of self and guided learning! With the way the courses are grouped makes the learning experience streamlined and easy to pick up. But there are some issues I have run across. For certain questions I prefer to type my own answers to help familiarize with the characters, but there is nothing more fustarating than getting marked wrong because I used kanji rather than kana. It would be the perfect app if that were fixed otherwise!

This is an excellent way to learn Korean - I haven't tried the other languages offered. The price is reasonable and I feel like I'm really retaining a lot. The reviews and flash cards are super helpful and I like the customisation available for practising grammar and vocabulary.

A great beginner app at a very reasonable price. As a language student who really believes in taking the language seriously and isn't content with five minutes on duolingo every day this app is a wonderful introduction to the languages it offers. I definitely see this as the best beginner course, better than Babbel or Memrise or Duolingo. It won't take you to fluency, but it has given a good grounding in a new language and really supplemented my knowledge in a language I'm already familiar with.

This app is honestly great. I've been learning German on and off for about two years as I don't have too much free time to dedicate but LingoDeer is amazing on recapping vocab and grammar through revision activities. There's a few grammar issues here and there but nothing that's too bothersome in my opinion. It's quite simplistic, it doesn't over complicate and so is easier for beginners. I've been wanting to learn German for years and now I've managed to get into the swing of it. So thank you!

Perfect in all ways..excellent app for language learning..recommended 100% for all

It's easy to learn with this, but I wish there were way more writing practices. A lot of them are far too easy (like drag & drop the word or choose which word doesn't belong) so I wish I could do a lot more writing practices. Right now there are only 2 at the end and it's not enough.

It is just awesome! They teach you step by step like a child which is really essential when you're learning something like a new language. Firstly they teach you the basics like alphabets then after mastering the basics you're ready to learn phrases and sentences and stuff.. I really like the way they teach it helps. Thanks lingo deer! Regards -Ukasha

Great app. Best for Japanese that I have seen. They could fix a few gramatical errors with the English translations though, which become more common the further along you go. It would also be great if they added innovative features such as saving custom vocabulary lists to export to AnkiDroid, and a hold to reveal hiragana feature.

It has a really great learning courses. I find this app to be really amusing. I was shooked when I saw that there were a course to learn the alphabet. Since majority of apps learning language always started off with learning sentences. It does teach us alphabet but it does not teach us how to write it correctly though. And the membership, is it for all the course you wanted to take or only on of the course you paid for? Great app btw ♥

Having difficulty dragging わたし in front of は. It won' t drag. Keeps returning to original position. Android. Would have been nice, but just not working. Will try to re-install again another time. Maybe will work then.

To be honest this app was totally great but the recent update made is like other apps. It was free but now you have to pay for learning.

If you're learning Japanese or Korean, Lingodeer is the way to go. I tried out the first free lessons and was convinced right away to commit to a membership, lingo has all the features I was hoping a free app like duolingo would have for Japanese and Korean: voice recording, kanji and hangul practice right on my phone, detailed grammar and vocab explanations, review lessons, lingo deer has so much! Thank you for this app!

Love this app! Easy interface but in depth language lessons in fun ways!

"This seems to be a good language learning app that locks other lessons before you really get a chance to see how useful the app really is. Prices go for $20-$30 depending on the day. I don't know if my casual use of the app justifies this price at least it isn't a subscription. I feel they should have gone the ad route though, because I will likely continue to use Duolingo now which has better community features." Is above the update unlocked which seems brilliant so far!

Amazing! I would've gien a five star but nothing in life is perfect. I love how you can back up your progress and you can practice vocabulary with short stories and all. Highly recommended for quick and efficient learning of various languages. Learning a language has never been more fun than this.

Their Korean module is amazing and worth paying the premium to get a solid understanding of the core language concepts

It's the best app for learning Chinese, Japanese or Korean. However in case of Korean I'd prefer stronger pressure on alphabet part because without that is hard to follow rest of the course. Even though, it's the best choice if u like to learn Asian languages without being demotivated

It says that it has a lot of asian languages, but it doesn't have philipines language (Tagalog) please make a Tagalog version!!

The development with this app is incredable. For the sure amount of content to learn for, including the asian content they have for thus app. This app is incredible for learning some asian languages, because of how it is setup, to how the native talk clearly and effectively. Also for the asian content provided, it beats using duolingo for how effective learning a asian language should be. However one should use a supplement for lingo deer as it can go so far. Happy Learning :).

I've been searching through so many language learning apps, and each one left me confused and I wanted to give up on learning Korean, but then I found this app and this is the best by far! It teaches me everything that I need to know and it's very clear. I love it so much and would reccomend this to people who want to learn a new language, or continue learning.

At first, this app was great. It uad amazing lessons, and i learned one or two things. Keep in mind, i ONLY learned one or two things. After i completed one lesson, i tried moving nto the other. Turns out, you need a full subscription to the app to move on. Not happy with that. You dont need to pay money to learn japanese.

LingoDeer is the best language learning app I have come across. It has great grammar points included and graphics make it more interesting to learn. I would like to add that I wish I had access to the LingoDeer game app, especially after having paid for LingoDeer. The order in which one learns topics is a bit unstructured. The app was also supposed to mark your pronounciation when I first got it, but it doesn't seem to do that. I still think it's a great app, but it could use some improvements.

Really happy with this app, I've tried others but they haven't given enough grammar support or decent listening practice. This one is properly tailored to Japanese and the bite size lessons make it easy to build on what you just learnt or just do a small amount at a time.

I just started out, but I feel like it will be really helpful as far as starting out learning a few basic words, or getting a hang of learning a new language is concerned. Plus the presentation of lessons are pretty fun and pleasing to look at. 😊

Very calm and nice! Love it! It has a nice way of separating subjects like fruit and occupations instead of other apps where they give you random words that don't fit in. And it makes me feel less stressed about learning other languages.

Great way to learn a new language. Can only recommend this🧡👍

Really cool app for learning or brushing up on a variety of languages. Definitely recommend this app

This app is amazing! You must install it! It's very easy to learn with it. It's fun. This app explains everything in detail. It makes the basic concepts clear, which are very important. I am learning Korean, and I am having a great time learning with this app❤

I've tried several language learning apps - this one is, by far, my favorite. You'll learn grammar and vocabulary at the same time... You'll also learn to read the language - which is especially useful if you're, for example, English speaking and trying to learn Korean.

The best app if you want to learn a new language. Got good tips, good exercises, excelent layout, easy to use. The one thing I didn't find so easily was the currency of the payment method. I want to pay in reais but only appears in dollars for me

THIS APP IS AMAZING. . I have used all the big name apps . Like Memrise and mondly, which are good don't get me wrong. But both had strengths and weaknesses. . Thats why I used both. But Lingo deer takes what works in both and combines them. And it teachers hangul.. I was so IMPRESSED that I got the life time subscribe. Which is fairly priced. .. and cheaper then both mondly and memrise. .. The Development team deserves every dollar. .. and teamed up with deer plus, it's all I use now. ..

I love this app soo much. It's been helping me a lot with korean language. Everything is dynamic, which makes it easier to learn and remember vocabulary. I just wish you guys add more explanation texts, I got really confused with 잔, 장, 명...

The best app for language learning i've used so for and i've gone through over 20 different sites and apps by now. So many ways to learn, super easy to navigate, and very detailed explanations in the tips section that are in the perfect format for those who like to take notes like me! Amazing!!

Very good app that teaches you also the grammar parts. Runs very smooth on Android 8.0.0 / LG V20. Moreoever the price is very affordable since there is not just a monthly subbscription option but a life time offer for all languages. Can also be accessed on a Desktop browser.

I've been using this for a longer period, and I am satisfied with it! Fully offline, no "watch this ad to continue", no timeout for lessons, no BS; just the pure learning experience. Worth it!

It used to be free, now you have subscription? That is beyond disappointing.

I've always wanted to learn Korean and have tried many other language apps for it but lingodeer is the best by far. A lot of apps advertise themselves as quick and easy shortcuts to learning a language - which doesn't really achieve much from my experience. Lingodeer takes a more thorough and in depth approach to teaching which I really appreciate.

Super nice and helpful app to me. i usually use it on my free time to learn it. I'm still young though. but still so cool. i cab learn korean too! edit:Ummm can you please add other asian languages such as thai, or filipino language as well... To make the app much useful! It is already useful, but pls. Add more it's so exiting!

It's such a fun way to learn. Whenever I stumble on a word or wonder why a certain particle is being used, I get a complete explanation by tapping the word or phrase. Great learning too imo.

I think the only missing thing is like a text-to-read function, in which you can write sentences and the app read it aloud, cause right now i am learning here, but this is not the only thing i use

Its Not free anymore. Back then, once you complete the previous unit, you can open the next unit for free. But now, when you open the next unit, they will just show their premium subscription offer

Best learning app ever, really, it's super simple to use, you can train your memory, review the exercises you did, and even lessons in case you didn't really understand, honestly the only app I use to learn Korean is this one, it went beyond my expectations. Great work developers ❤️❤️

Last update for now: the Vietnamese lessons have lots of errors at the time of this writing. I wrote to LingoDeer and they've given me a refund. So here is what I think: the pronunciations throughout the app were extremely valuable and never wrong, even if the questions/answers were. With a tonal language like Vietnamese this is so important that, given the LingoDeer folks seem to have their hearts in the right place, so I've changed the rating to 3 stars. I think they'll fix bài one day sắp.

Excellent options to vary how much verbal and written practice students get, and a sensible progression of the order you learn vocabulary in. The pronunciation references at the beginning are key, and I haven't noticed other apps having those available.

There's endless things that you can do on this app and it's amazing for self learning. The app makes learning languages fun which motivates me to use it everyday. I used this app to study Japanese for my Leaving Certificate and to help prepare me for the JLPT exam. I also study Korean as a hobby and have been able to pick up the language really quickly thanks to this app. I am able to teach myself Korean through Japanese to challenge myself also. I actually love this app so much lol

Fantastic app.. very informative and interesting specially for beginners from various countries.. I can understand very well..this includes many courses of languages..this is not just for fun but it helps further much..as nowadays there is a demand of multilingual speakers..so just loved it and amazing app...

It is a great app it gives you the alphabet of the language you're learning, it gives you tips and it gives you a better understanding on specific word like "topic marking particles" which can be hard to understand

I understand that you have to have paying to support the app, but you could at least say this. It is false advertisement. Also could you fix the sound sometimes it doesnt work, even when my internet connection is good.
