Great app, easy to use. Changes that are absolutely needed are borders around the clickable areas to prevent people from changing life total when trying to apply commander damage and vice-versa (could be optional, would save so many mistaps), as well as extending the bar that picks a random player to start so it's much more clear who is being selected.

  2. K rog-avatar

Needs major updates feels like abandon ware now. And with the newest set out there the in app dice roller needs to be updated to include d4 d8 d10 d12 d20

I love the app. It works really well and is easy to use. One issue I really have is that the app drains battery power like nothing else. It's kind of insane. My biggest suggestion is to have the commander damage link to the life total so we don't have to do the damage twice each time (just for convenience), and maybe also make it easier to click.

I use this app on an older ipad with my playgroup every time we play. It's great - except for a couple of small things... 1. I wish you could set the layout yourself - sometimes the way we set up at a table is a bit unconventional and being able to move our "scorepads" around to match our table layout would be amazing. 2. Commander damage. No option for partners and no way to track your own commander's damage against you (if it gets stolen, etc.) Please? PLEASE?????? Other than that, it's great.

Close to amazing. Two minor issues: First, if you want to use it as your personal life tracker (instead of having folks manhandle your phone), there's no way to track other players' commander damage separately. Second, this app will eat your battery alive. I can run YouTube Music for hours on my phone, but this app will drop it from full to 5% during a 45 minute commander game.

  6. Steven Lyons-avatar

The app fails to load sometimes, so it takes longer to get started occasionally. The plus and minus buttons are really small and placed too close to the edge of the screen. They are also hard to see against the dark background. Consequently, the buttons to change life are hard to find and hard to use.

  7. Rebecca Stewart-avatar

Love the app and the fact I can load backgrounds of my favorite podcasts. I would give it 5 stars if the app had a game history (other than the game you are currently in). I've had the app close on me mid game and had to start over at 40 life because we could not accurately remember everyone's life.

  8. Rick Donnelly-avatar

The fact that this is one of the lowest rated life trackers says a lot. The app uses a ton of battery and recently we can't use the player start randomizer because it is now off center. It is far too difficult to get to the commander damage page without accidentally changing your life total, this app is in serious need of a UI update. Many users have said that when they Uninstalled the app they were charged again to get it back. Why have none of these issues have been addressed in a year?

  9. Mythica-avatar

    Mythica

Pros: The layout is clean, being able to save profiles is nice, collaboration backgrounds are cool. Cons: -The commander damage button is so easy to miss-tap that we constantly have to readjust health that we accidentally added. (Same issue on Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Tab s2) -Rolling for first does not seem to scale in 3 player games. Whomever has the larger space wins most rolls. Not a big deal, we just use dice. Just a small gripe. Suggestions: More backgrounds. Not amazing, but good app.

I really enjoy Game Knights, but I'm not impressed with their app. At least on my phone (Galaxy S8+, Android 9) it's very slow to respond to touch input, often causing mistakes in tracking changes in life totals. Also, blocking basic functionality such as putting names in behind a paywall is not cool. I'll just keep using MTG Familiar - it's free and has a ton more functionality, both as a life counter and beyond.
