How to always have the mesh under the thumb?
Public: all those who practice fishing at sea in France, North Sea, Channel, Atlantic, Mediterranean, and are concerned by the legislation in force, whatever the mode of practice: surf-casting and fishing by the sea , fishing on foot, boat or lure.
The information contained in LaMaille is:
- List of all species of fish, shellfish, crustaceans concerned by French or European national legislation, or having been the subject of an article on www.opalesurfcasting.net - in alphabetical order - Spiny dogfish at Atlantic sailboat.
It is accessed in one click.
The list scrolls by simply sliding the thumb and allows to select the species with a second click.
- For each species, the European and French legislative provisions applicable in the framework of the regulation of fishing at sea are indicated.
- Legal size, mesh - if this provision exists
- Quota for fish - if this provision exists
- Specific management - if it exists
- Group for seashells
- Prohibition of fishing - if this provision exists at national or European level
- other special provisions for a species at national or European level
- Display of a photograph in the species sheet (if activated in the preferences of the application). An internet connection or WIFI is required for the first display. The photograph is then kept in cache.
Updates information in LaMaille:
- This information will be updated at the same rate as that posted on opalesurfcasting.net. That is to say as soon as possible after their publication.
- Ultimately, the objective is to obtain the quickest way to inform coastal users and fishermen about changes in the context of ecosystem management, D + 1, management orders ...
Operation:
Apart from the time of installation, application updates, the first download of images, LaMaille works without the need for 3G, 4G or WIFI connection. It is therefore usable on the ground anytime and anywhere, even by those who prefer economic telephone subscriptions, or do not have any.
LaMaille works on all versions of Android, since version 2.3, Android Gingerbread, or on all Android smartphones and tablets released since May 2010 (more than 14000 models). This allows, if you wish, to reconvert your old smartphone, or an old tablet. LaMaille will follow the evolution of Android versions.
Future or current developments:
- implementation of an aid for the identification of listed species in line with the ergonomics of the application - to make visual, simple, intuitive
- implementation of a tool for centralization and geolocation to stick to local legislation, particularly in the context of fishing on foot (shellfish zone classification, nature reserves, management orders ...)
- dissemination of health alerts
- and of course the usual small alterations to get the "Tricorder" rights and duties of the recreational fisherman. This will be limited to that, for fishing, the fisherman prefers his instinct, his knowledge and his curiosity.
- Release of a paid version, LaMaille - 1 euro, to support and accelerate the development. There will be, if possible, no difference between the free version and the paid version, if you are satisfied you can signify it.
