Kebijakan pelaksanaan AMDAL ini, berpedoman kepada Undang Undang Republik Indonesia No. 32 tahun 2009 tentang pengelolaan lingkungan Hidup dan Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. Kep 05 tahun 2012 tentang Jenis dan Usaha atau Kegiatan Yang Wajib Dilengkapi Dengan AMDAL.
AMDAL adalah kajian mengenai dampak besar dan penting suatu usaha dan/atau kegiatan yang direncanakan pada lingkungan hidup yang diperlukan bagi proses pengambilan keputusan tentang penyelenggaraan usaha dan/atau kegiatan. Dalam pelaksanaannya, AMDAL merupakan proses pengkajian terpadu yang mempertimbangkan aspek ekologi, sosial ekonomi, dan sosial budaya sebagai pelengkap studi kelayakan suatu rencana usaha dan/atau kegiatan. Sedangkan Dasar hukum pelaksanaan AMDAL adalah undang-undang nomor 32 tahun 2009 tentang pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup dan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 27 Tahun 2012 tentang Izin Lingkungan.
