I'm in hospital for cardiac related ailments all the time, and I've put a lot of these apps to the test against actual hospital equipment in real-time to see how accurate they are. This app is by far the most accurate, and it is totally in sync with the Philips Intellivue and Welch Allyn monitoring machines in hospitals. You simply can't beat that level of accuracy, and this is what I rely on to monitor my heart health if I'm ever in rural areas and out camping. I won't trust any of the others.

  2. Bradley S-avatar

    Bradley S

apk Works great and actually is super accurate. I went to the cardiologist for a regular checkup and waited 45 minutes in the room for the doctor whole hooked up to the EKG with a ton of wires on me. I tried this app while looking at the BPM screen of the EKG 3 or 4 times out of boredom and it was within 1 beat per minute or exact every time. You just have to remain still and calm while doing the reading. Im impressed.

  3. Monica Begay-avatar

    Monica Begay

Not a very good app it don't detect my finger right away on my phone or Ipad. I did the test on my iPad and didn't even have my finger on the ipad but it was measuring something. So Itried both devices one said 69 on phone and 151 on ipad. I don't know which one to trust.

  4. Christoph Bergmann-avatar

    Christoph Bergmann

They really have no shame in placing full screen ads after basically each single measurement, on top of ad banners while not measuring. The push to their pricey premium version appears at every corner, which is a shame, because the measurement itself seems to work halfway decently.

  5. Melanie Searle-avatar

    Melanie Searle

Fantastic App 👍🏻, I use this regularly due to having a heart defect. I'm able to take all my recorded readings to my doctor & any other specialists.

  6. Glen Carroll-avatar

    Glen Carroll

Very ineffective. I have a Samsung galaxy s20 plus with 4 cameras I've tried placing my index finger on each camera. It fails. Also on the sensors and it fails to scan anything.

  7. The Rogue-avatar

    The Rogue

It's not super accurate. It's about 10 heartbeats lower than your actual heart rate meaning if you have your heart rate at 80 on here it's really 90 but in a pinch it's a really good tool to use and it's super easy

  8. welches72-avatar

I've used this app for ten years on different phones. I still test it against my BP minitor and the numbers are the same or plus/minus a couple off digits.

  9. Mark Ingebretsen-avatar

Immediate pressure to go premium on a very expensive product. Heavy-handedness was very off-putting. Also, it didn't work!

  10. Julie Meza-avatar

This app tracks your heart rate and is very accurate. My cardiologist had me download this app about ten years ago. I still use it everyday.

  11. Ed Gregson-Barnes-avatar

Was good (after shelling out for premium) but now refuses to stay connected to Google fit. Have switched to a (free) competitor.

It was very good. But now the app is aggresively pushy with its subscription ad that pops up every few seconds.

Useless, took ages to detect finger, ages to report and gave ridiculous result of 1 40 at rest.

  27. Linda Henigin-avatar

    Linda Henigin

So disappointed in the changes made to this app. I've used it for years now and it's been the best, until recently. Besides having to log in, the most recent update has made the app inaccurate and now takes ages to find a rhythm. The little heart icon that used to blink in sync with yours, which was convenient because it gave a visual to show accuracy, was helpful if you were checking your pulse along with the app is gone. The auto start is kind of annoying too. Cardiograph>Instant Heart Rate.

  28. Dan L-avatar

    Dan L

Ok it works but I bought a pro version years ago when they had 2 versions but then they got rid of the paid version, merged it, whittled away any benefits, put back intrusive ads, badgers you to set up a subscription and the app works more slowly. They certainly are trying to make this app worse and want to charge us another subscription. I need another subscription like I need another hole in my body. I don't. How and why I lost the paid version is beyond me.

Been using this app for a couple years now but since the recent update half the time i cant even start the measurement. (LGQ60)

  34. Bill Cote-avatar

    Bill Cote

The last update seems to have affected the performance of this app. It takes forever to detect that my finger is on the lense, let alone find the pulse. I also didn't like having to enter my email address to use it nor the push for the paid option. And why does this app need access to my contacts? Certainly not any functional purpose.

  35. Dale Rhodes-avatar

    Dale Rhodes

Flash cooks my finger on ThinQ phone I used it twice and deleted it. Also really pushy upgrade adds.

  36. Antoinette Hicks-avatar

    Antoinette Hicks

I haven't been able to use this once I noticed using the app burns my fingertip. I have a galaxy s10... I have to put my finger across all three cameras and the light gets too hot before I can complete the reading.

  37. Suzanne Youngblood-avatar

    Suzanne Youngblood

Thought this would be a simple free heart rate measuring app but it keeps popping up confusing membership popups that seem to be suggesting that I *already* signed up for a free trial... for which I'll be charged $29.99 in the end... the permission for which was the simple act of giving them my email address? Now I'm going to have to be vigilant for charges. I don't have the mental bandwidth for this. Uninstalling.

  38. Lucas 'Ktulu789'-avatar

    Lucas 'Ktulu789'

I need to login to whaaaat?? F you! The app was useful without login. I don't need to contribute my personal data to your marketing database (users: that's why everything asks for login nowadays). And let's not look at the permissions this app need which are pretty invasive. Except for the camera, they don't need anything else. At all. Zero stars if I could. I was reading all your other reviews... It's amazing how the devs effed up! Everyone hates the new version! Such a bad taste.

  39. Chris Barton-avatar

    Chris Barton

Linked my social to the app, then was told I had signed up for premium $29.99 charge. I did nothing of the sort! This is either confusing or deceptive. Not sure how to check this charge won't go through. So upset my heart rate must have increased, but now I will need a new app to check!

  40. P-avatar

Now we have to sign up with all our personal details?!?!?! I really liked using this app until your last update. Now you want my personal details and I have to also create an account using my Google, Facebook or email giving you access to even more personal information, likely so you can sell it to other companies to make money. No thanks. This is the end of it for me, no longer using your once fantastic app now it's so intrusive!👎

  41. Chris Legee-avatar

    Chris Legee

I shelled out the money for the yearly premium subscription, and I just can't get it to work. Every time I try to use any of the premium features, it just gives me the pop up to subscribe, even though I already was subscribed. The actual monitoring function works well, for what that's worth.

  42. Nicholas Fernandez-avatar

    Nicholas Fernandez

This app was great before you needed to register or login to use it. I have no idea why they changed it. Why do they suddenly need login information when for years before they did not?? (I'm suspicious of how they intend to use the data they collect)

  43. John Salim-avatar

    John Salim

Been happily using this app for years, and accepted the growing number of ads as the cost of doing business with a free app. Now all of a sudden it wants an email address or sign in with one of my accounts. No thanks. Guess I'll be looking for a different app.

  44. Jason Vogt-avatar

    Jason Vogt

Unhappy with invasive changes to app. Requires log in now but does not give anything in return. Just lots of pressure to upgrade to paid. Used to love it. Uninstalling. I started getting very fishy spam after connecting with my email on this app. Buyer beware.

  45. Shirley Garcia-avatar

Purchased premium, but the app never updates to the premium service, it continues to say upgrade. When I click upgrade i get an error message that I already purchased the item. I got a refund, and tried a second time and got same issue.

    Small Dream Arts

Just started a week's trial for this app but I may as well not have as its still the same with ads and I cannot see what this app has to offer as I would need to pay a months subscription to see it. So what's the point in one week's free trial if it doesn't work?!

  47. Tom Hutcheson-avatar

    Tom Hutcheson

I want to make this 5 star but cannot until my issue is fixed I've bought a yearly subscription already paid for but the app still says I've got basic and not premium $50 I've spent and can't access my premium features can this please be a mended ASAP

This is the app I used to use but unless you pay it's horrible now... Not likely to get someone interested in a paid version. There are far better heart rate apps, I'm glad this one started to remove free features because the other ones are also better when paid.

I spotted the familiar icon in the Playstore and installed the trust heart rate monitor app.. I've never ever uninstalled ANYTHING that fast... what a disappointment! This app gives you less than 24 hours of any "free" functionality (with ads). Then it locks down unless you sign up for more. Apparently, it's not supposed to do this, but I couldn't get it to work after I declined to upgrade to premium.

  90. V12BigBlock-avatar

Why the hell would a heart rate app need you to log in to anything, to be able to use it?! Whoever thought this was a good ideea to implement, should be fired on the spot, this is the shadiest buisness practice i've ever seen, never touching this again ever, would give 0 stars if i could!

It took my pulse once, and the figure seemed reasonable. But then the app wanted me to (a) Sign up (b) Sign in with Facebook / Google. I don't do Google or Facebook, and don't want my heart rate tracked by anyone but me.

  98. claire Sales-avatar

    claire Sales

I used to rate this app a 5star, but then they got rid of continuous monitoring and anytime my finger moved a bit I had to start it up again. I use this app to help with my anxiety, but now these ads pop up and I have to wait before I can use it again. Absolutely the worst thing to happen during a panic attack! So sadly, after many years of use, I'm going to have to uninstall and find an alternative.

Used app for one day. After that I had to pay in order to use the app. Honestly, for that price a year I can just save some money and invest on a Fitbit. It is a shame since the app interphase is nice, but the truth is it becomes worthless almost instantly. Not worth it. Oh and I had to make an account which now mean they can track me. Hope I can get rid of my account.

  101. s-avatar

I've used this app for years. It was perfect until now. I never minded the ads because I know they need them to make money with a free app, but requiring a log in? This app doesn't need to access my data to function. And I don't want to share my heart rate information with anyone. I uninstalled it and searched for a new app.

  102. Andrew Nico-avatar

Instant Heart Rate ain't all that bad, really. I only used it like three times. I think if I remember, I went to this hospital with my mom to check my heart, and this woman told me to install this app to check my heart every now and then. It is really useful. You put your finger on your camera lens, then breathe. Then the app tells you your heart rate. It also does other things, but I didn't mess with that. Still a really helpful app nonetheless.

This app used to be 5 star worthy until the lastest patches. Now you have to pay for a monthly subscription, rampant ads, limited amount of heart rate measurements unless you pay, the app and measurements run slower and you now have to sign in. It turned into a Data and Money collecting scheme. Don't waste your money or your time downloading this. Look for a different app. Would give Zero stars if I could

  106. Asia Mohamed-avatar

Well well well, it took me quite a while to catch on the devious scams of this app, it's absolutely fake, it's not measuring anything and gives a random number, it also makes you pay, I have realised they have been scamming me because I put my hands over the camera lens WITHOUT touching it and immediately started doing a reading, definitely would rate a zero if I could, uninstall immediately. Thanks for reading

Fake app one time it showed 100 then 12 seconds later it was 60 my pulse oxymeter showed it to be around 70 when the app said otherwise. You don't need the age of someone to accurately measure the heart rate, unless you are lying and using an age resting heart rate chart.

Waste of time. Instant shouldnt be in the name. I tried 2 times and it never finished. It would say 10 seconds left then 2 minutes and one really hot finger later it still said 10 sec left. 2nd try started quicker I was down to 6 seconds to go and after a minute said 10 seconds left to go and another minute and another fried finger got nothing. Extremely unreliable. I would recommend a different app if you want actual results. Definitely uninstalling

Used to be sweet and lite at 28MB. After update, it's way too bulky! Such simple functionality to measure heart rate, why 68Mb? Bigger than Google Calendar or Meet!

A bunch of scammers trying to defraud people by popping up the premium subscription randomly. They're hoping for people to subscribe by a misclick! What a bunch of turds!

I love the fact that the app is close, if not, very accurate but I don't appreciate the fact that you can only scan a few times before it locks the function and forces you to buy the premium.

This app is not at all accurate. Previously believed it was accurate when it showed my bpm to be around 85 to 90.Then today when it took rhr of my bed also. I realised this app is totally worthless. And the flash of the camera just burns my finger. So instantly uninstalled the app.

I paid for a higher level of membership but now wants to force me to "sign up". 1 star because it has ignored previous memberships and wants to force me to spend more money on it. If I could make it 0 or less I would.

Warning! Remote Access Tool In This App. Have been using this app for a few years. Recent downloads somehow included RAT Malware. Caused a few Apps to shut down with no reason on my phone. After removing this app, my other banking apps now function as normal. Google Play should look into this.

Stop stealing personal data. I'll look for the old apk online. Any older version will be better than this. It's sad that I came to the store, LOYALLY looking for the old app that WORKED and was fantastic... And I was BETRAYED in this way. I used this account for the 500 character limit on mobile reviews was short. Yes, this is my other account, this app is so bad it DESERVES a second bad rating. Not only that, it BEGS for another bad review.

It's not ever finishing the test. Literally sat that for like two minutes waiting for it and it's jumping between 70 something bpm and 140 something. My heart rate is almost always between 90-110, so that doesn't even make any sense even if my finger was slipping off.

You used to be able to use this app without signing up for an account if all you wanted was a quick read of your heart rate. Not any more. They also have some iffy permission requests like you contacts and you location. What do those have to do with your heart rate?

This app is a game changer for my workouts! Yesterday I was searching for an app to check my heart rate, and came across this one! Not only does it check my BPM, but if you subscribe to it, it gives you daily workouts (20, 30, or 40 min.), a diet plan to fit your needs, and give you monthly reports of your BPM. It's cool that it also syncs to Google Fit. I am hurting physically, but there's no stopping me! 💪

Readings would change dramatically , takes to long to read and the pop up for the premium comes up so much that I hit the purchase button by mistake and ended up charging me the app. Cancel the subscription but the only option is for the end of the billing cycle. Trying to get a refund but only way to communicate is by email. No phone number to call. Emailed them and get an email response that the email address is not found.

It hangs frequently on my Android 7 device. In opening the app, it sometimes just display a black or blank screen and nothing happens. When it works, it is not responsive. In measure mode, sometimes it will start to give readings on it's own even when I did not have my finger in the camera lens. I will be uninstalling. Thanks

once i got a smart watch, no longer needed the app. I got a notice of the auto renewal was coming up. I could not find any link on how to stop payment. I noticed the app had the download button for install so I assumed they developer knew I no longer have the app on my phone and so he/they would not charge me. They did. Still can't get rid of the possibility of being charge in the future and want a refund, but that to is not on the web site. At 80 years of age, we get frustrated with trying to search sites for information that should be there. Even access to help is not available. So I blocked my google account and will no longer use it to pay for anything.

I was considering paying for this app, but while measuring my heart rate, it was accelerating, breaking the 100 bpm mark, when "INVADERS FROM PLANET MOONLAND" obnoxious add interrupted my measurement and startled me. I get how ads work. I know they need to be kinda obnoxious to support themselves. It already advertises itself incessantly, like, before I'd successfully used it once. This was the second time. I can't support this.

I tried this after reading a very favourable report on it, but what a disappointment. It started brilliantly, although the readings seem lower than the other two I have. And then, after a week or so, it became a useless piece of junk, practically. It took a long while to get a reading - had to reboot it several times. Now, it doesn't do anything at all. It turns on the flash, consuming battery, and not reading. The other two apps work fine. It was as though it tries to hook you (working fabulously in the beginning) then when it fails to convince you to fork up for a subscription, it stops working.

Absolutely appalling behaviour by the company that made this app, initially the pro version you could buy one off payment which I did, then they removed that from the store and have replaced it with this garbage, they can kiss my a.s.s as far as I’m concern taking my money then screwing me over.

I had a paid version of this app when it wasn't subscription-based. And now it says I am on some free version and the only way to use it properly is by premium subscription. Wow! Talk about getting greedy. They could have come up with a new app with more features instead of crippling it for earlier paid users! It is useless now. Uninstalling it.

The ease of use is just not there. Super interrupting to a workout. Had the same heart rate after one mile in and after an uphill sprint?? Takes minutes to get a measurement to the point where my finger starts to hurt from the heat of the flash! Crazy. But hey, it's free and you get what you pay for.

This app is very accurate. I checked my heart rate 3 ways, by taking my pulse, by using my wrist heart rate/blood pressure monitor and this app. all 3 were almost exactly the same. They were only off by 1 or 2 points each. So I would say, given how easy this is to use, you can't go wrong.

First few measurements are free and accurate but pretty soon the app becomes unusable due to the constant intrusive ads and constant requests for you to subscribe.(£9.48 a month!). A quick look at the reviews will show that they are mainly 1 star ⭐ people who have used it for a few days and realised it's not free. Or 5 star by people who have only used it a couple of times and haven't yet activated the constant subscription requests.

The startup was very slow, even slower than other apps, I suggest only load the most required components first, and load others after UI has loaded. I always used this after jogging with rapid heartbeats, when this was app fully started, my rapid heartbeat was already restored to normal, so I wasn't able to know how fast the rapid heartbeat was. MIUI, ViperOS or whatever, but result was still the same. Your UI design was already impressive, but for me, startup duration also important.
