Graffiti™ is a replacement for the built-in on-screen keyboard, also called an input method. With Graffiti, you no longer type but you draw Graffiti characters with your finger or a compatible stylus. Graffiti characters are mostly single-stroke drawings that closely match the usual alphabet, but are simplified to make entry faster and easier. For example, the letter "A" is entered with a stroke that looks like an upside-down "V", saving time that you do not need to cross the "A" in the middle. Same for the letter "T", which is entered almost like a "7".

There are text and numeric input areas, improving the recognition of your input. Strokes drawn in the text area will only be interpreted as letters; strokes in the numeric area will be interpreted as numbers .

If you were a user of a PalmOS based PDA in the past, this will all be very familiar to you as the input method used by those devices was a stylus drawing Graffiti strokes in an input area at the bottom of the display. But even if you were not a Graffiti user before, you should give it a try now if you find that the on-screen keyboard doesn't suit your input style.

Don't know the Graffiti alphabet? After installing and enabling Graffiti, just draw a stroke up from the Graffiti input area into the main display area and the help screen appears. Tap to switch between the six stroke help screens.

Has been an amazing app and my exclusive choice of input for the last 5 years. Unfortunatey it is just beginning to get a bit flaky with the latest version of android. Gets stuck on producing full stops when you backspace. So needs a bit of an update for which I'd be happy to pay

I absolutely love this. Combine this with PHEM, and you've turned your device into the ultimate Palm computing platform.

Been using this app on Android for several years. Recently, on a new phone, I'm finding that long paths, particularly when drawing 'R', it loses the tail, and registers a 'p'. It's like the tracking buffer fills up, and does not see the end of the path drawn. Also can affect 'm' and 'w', but not as frequently. Not bad enough to stop using it, but it can be annoying. Otherwise excellent.

Compared to regular Grafitti, the surface area of the writing area is much larger. I dont know whether it would be practical on a small phone. You would need to get the regular Grafitti. Grafitti is one of the great input inventions of tech. It's up there with the keyboard. It might be a little slower than gboard, but youll catch the errors faster. You can look at the words as you type, so you can correct them right away. You can look someone in the eye while you are taking notes. Fantastic.

DOES work with all the newest phones (Note 8, S9, Note 9, etc) though you still have to enable it, which most people forget about. Reasonably accurate. Has not been updated since Gingerbread, though it may not actually need it save for security updates. It used to be owned by the American company Access Solutions, which appears to be Chinese now.

A wonderful handwriting app which I have used for over 20 years on 3 palm pilots, four mobile phones and three tablets. I just installed it on my new Samsung Galaxy Tablet S5e and it works just fine. Yay!! Basically, you use a form of shorthand which soon becomes intuitive. Each letter consists of one simple unique stroke, much like a capital letter and you can do numbers, punctuation, symbols etc. You write with your finger on a black band at the bottom of the screen, in any app requiring text. I have NEVER used a keyboard on any of my devices.Thank you to the developers and those who keep this app going. .

I have been using Graffiti instead of the phone's keyboard since my years with my HP PDA. It doesn't suffer from the sometimes faulty, sometimes humerous guessing what word being typed, and it does offer suqgested complete word with reasonable success. Alas, I recently looked for an app update, but it may be that its developers have moved on ;=(

I have found this to be the best writing tool since my Palm days. Simple gestural recognition. I experience tremors that have always (with my big hands) made on screen keyboards a liability. This is a durable app, but it does show some of it's age. If some imagination could bring a bit more life & popularity, it could be a good thing. But "IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT!"

I miss my Palm Pilot! Graffiti Pro works great on a Note 8 and pretty good on a Tab e too. (The S Pen makes a big difference.) The lack of emojis kind of stinks FYI, but worth it for the speed of stylus vs. typing with my thumbs. (Hint: Gimmie an upgrade -- I would pay for emojis.) I also have to use Apple devices sometimes, and it sucks that I have to revert back to a keyboard. I only use Graffiti Pro intermittently only therefore on my Android devices because of the lack of consistency FYI. Better to use the same keyboard on all than to use stylus sometimes and keyboard other times when I have to switch back-and-forth often. (Why can't you port to iOS, please? Again, I would pay for it.)

It works, but... It isn't great for tablet use... I'd love to be able to reduce to 1/3 height with the shorthand help to the side, and to make it a floating pallet. Would also be nice to have graffiti 1 & 2 selectable. Still, it's almost as good as it was on my old pda. It also needs a switch keyboard button. Adding thorn [Þþ], eth [Đđ], oek (oe ligature), and being able to turn the trace on/off would also be wonderful... most of this post entered with it.
