The all-new Ford Performance App® brings track-based data logging, advanced analytics and video recording to enthusiast customers. The app allows users to broadcast their achievements on social media almost immediately after completing a run at the track.

The app features multiple recording modes and provides a host of car performance data –throttle and brake input, engine rpm, vehicle speed, steering wheel angle, etc. The Ford Performance App communicates with the latest SYNC 3® technology – overlaying performance data on the video being captured.

Recording modes
Each of the three modes has a unique display for recording, plus a distinct video overlay. After selecting a mode, the user has three options – video with overlay, video without overlay or no video.

Touring mode - gives a user the freedom to create a starting point anywhere, and a breadcrumb trail follows until an end point is selected.

Track mode - allows the user to select a track that they created or one that was created by a friend. Tracks can be a simple point A to point B, with separate start and finish lines, or a closed circuit with a single combined start/finish line. Track mode provides real-time lap time comparisons between current results and previous best results. This mode features a map with a ghost car, lap counter and timer.

Drag mode - is focused on capturing pure acceleration runs. This mode provides the following estimated times: 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph, 0-100-0 mph and ¼ mile.

Time slips and sharing
The Ford Performance App focuses on sharing recorded video and data. Time slips can be generated from every recording and are easily shared via email, text or social media channels. Sharing a run or track allows other users of the app to import that data so they can easily run the same course and compare data. Runs can be reviewed on a user’s smartphone and data can also be exported to a user’s computer for detailed analysis in CSV or VBO format.

The Ford Performance App – intended for track, closed course or off-road use – has been developed to give customers an easy-to-use way to capture video footage and performance data of their own experiences.
