DocSearch is a Fulltext Search application to search the filename and files contents on your mobile phone. (similar to Docfetchr or Google Desktop Search on windows) This application was designed to focus on searching file contents and filename. It doesn't search phone numbers, contacts, apps, etc. So it is very simple and easy to use, and there is no other useless information in the searching results. It's very helpful to someone who only concern about searching file on the phone. When you first use DocSearch, it requires that you create indexes for the folders you want to search in. These indexes allow DocSearch to quickly look up files by keyword. In order to create an index, click on the main menu on this application and select Document Folders->Add. Then choose a folder to be indexed. You have to wait until indexing the documents has been finished. Enter one or more keywords to search for in the text field on the top and press the search icon on the right side of the text field. The search results will be displayed in the result pane. Features *Support both filename and files content full-text searching. *Support file extension searching. Update 23Apr2019 : Just found that special characters/symbols can't be used in searching. Search for "A-B" wouldn't bring text that has this string as-is but shows up either A or B or Both. Need a fix. Nevertheless, it did life easy. ****** works same as desktops search feature, looking for search criteria in the files of selected locations. Been using since a year. hello, good the app. I think, however, that I am doing something wrong with the search for proximity (~), I cannot present any results. the sign ~ understands that the distance is exact or would be up to N words for example, "wooden table" ~ 10, the application looks for intervals 1, 2, 3, 4, ... 10 (up to 10), or is it exactly 10?

Works almost perfectly for what I need. 5 stars if you fix a glitch. I use it to search part numbers and every part number has two hyphens. When I put the part number in quotes, the hyphens disappear. Even if I correct it, it still won't search for the part number as a whole. Example part number: FM0-3465-030. I'll even buy it if you can fix this.

if you want to search inside all your files and ebooks on your computer/phone for that lost note or mention of "whatever" this is the one you want. not Astrosearch. just amazingly good! a lifesaver! this displays all the found snippets of text from the book or doc inside the app! Astrosearch makes you open the file in another app and then search for the mention again! dwveloper: but please add ability to search within zip and 7z files and doc files.

Excellent app, but is it possible you can implement a way to open the page of the "found" content in another app instead of starting of always starting from page 1. Let say I find some content I search for on page 90, but when I open with another app(becuase some characters are not able to display correctly, which is cool), it start from first page instead of the page I found the content. Thanks.

Wonderful app that gives results fast. I have indexed 60gigs of pdfs in the form or parts, instruction and shop manuals and I am able to search for part numbers, words or phrases and have results instantly upon clicking "search".

very useful but: 1. cannot open file at search result match. 2. cannot search persian words by part. e.g. "خان" doesn't find "خانه" while "hous" finds "house" too. 3. rtl words go under the ~ and " buttons on search field. I tested it with epub.

Great app. I wanna know if u can add this feature which is to search words in files accessed by the app, only by clicking on these words not writing them on the search area. Now this feature exists but only limited to the word written on the search area.
