SDF found a ton of duplicates in my WhatsApp media folders and did the job. I liked how it has multiple layers of confirmations to ensure files aren't deleted by mistake.

Ignore the negative reviews. It does exactly what is says. If you want to search a specific folder in the file folder tree, you have to uncheck the root folder first. I figured that out on my own after my first try. The best part is being able to find similar images as duplicates.

EDIT: still the best I've found, but I can't understand why this can't accomplish what similar Windows apps can do (find similar files better, etc.). And do need to be cautious using it: WILL delete items that aren't exact dupes if don't set correctly. just tried out 4 different apps of this type, and this is the only one that does a thorough/accurate search. There are a ton of ways to customize it, from file type to folder to method of match.

Downloaded this app specifically for the filetree option but it does not work. Tried several different folders, it acts like it is working, gives me the choice of which app to open text file, but then always says "file not found". Am I doing something wrong here? Please help.

I must have gone through at least 15 duplicate finder apps and was about to lose my mind until I found this one. Most of them get in their own way trying to do everything but this one here has what I would call Advanced searching options. To the other apps, once in a while it's okay to have the same file in two different folders.

Searched for a file manager that can read USB OTG drives. Said this one could but it can't. What the hell is the point of a file manager that can't see USB drives? These days, any file manager that can't see USB drives is pointless and useless

Reviews specifically say it works for OTG drives. That's all I wanted it for and it simply doesn't do it. OTG doesn't show up . Don't get me wrong, it doesn't say it does OTG in the app description here in playstore, but I specifically searched for OTG duplicate file finder in play store and on chrome and this app came up twice on two reviews that it works for OTG. No offence to the developer, this app works fine, but my phone already has a native duplicate file finder. The native app on my LG just doesn't work for OTG. Apparently neither does anything else. And don't start with "blah blah blah with your PC" , I don't have a damn computer. Phone, tablet, and a God damn rock I'm gonna throw at the next jack ass that says an app does something it doesn't. Idiots. KEEP IN MIND! The developer never claimed it worked for OTG. So no disrespect to him intended. I did use the app just to check it out, it's average, it works, except on a OTG drive. So if your here needing a duplicate otg file remover, move a long people, there's nothing to see here.

FINALLY. I must have downloaded eight to ten of these apps in the last day, but this is the one that has the best "similar files" type search function. It even lets you check your results and exclude some of them according to any of several criteria. Don't waste time with the other apps like this. What a relief.
