Worked on very first start-up but then will not reconnect no matter what is tried. Front pannel light flashes and phone can see unit - but it just fails repeatedly to connect. Zero ability to control unit via Android app on Samsung S21 phone. Update: pairs OK with Apple app so problem seems restricted to Android app / inability to enter pairing code.

For latest update: app doesnt open. Keeps on crashing when trying to open. Before update: App sometimes a bit glitchy, but overall is really good and helps the lazyness in me.

Failed to detect either heater on Bluetooth even though I was able to manually detect and connect to them directly with Bluetooth!!! Without that it's useless.

Quite simply, the app doesn't work properly at all. However, I went to a third party site that hosts apk files and downloaded version 1.0.3 and now it works just fine. I have two of these heaters and the app now lets me control both of them. Sometimes the IT wizards ought to just leave things alone once they are working properly. Just another case of sloppy programming it appears, but it is quite disappointing that Dimplex are not reading these reviews and doing something about it. Typical disregard for customers as usual in this time we now live I'm afraid. Regardless, if you are having problems with the app, I would try this method, as it worked well for me. You'll have to allow access for the app to install, but I did a security scan and it is safe. I hope it helps some of the many who have complained about this app.

It has the potential to be awesome but is so temperamental that I no longer trust it to accurately pre-set the heater. I only use it now to remotely start & stop the appliance. To be truly useful it has to be wi-fi based, the Bluetooth is far, far too limited in range. Visually very good, but practically very poor. See the Amazon Alexa app for how it should be done... But good effort.

Yes it times out after a while and disconnects the Bluetooth remote and so you have to tap on the heater you want and reconnect again. But this doesn't warrant a bad rating. It's actually saving your phone battery by not remaining connected indefinitely. This app works great for me. You can easily turn on and off the heater and adjust the temperature and other settings. Using on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

To enable remote bluetooth operation you need to press/hold a button on the heater. If you switch the heater off by the mains you will need to repeat this process. Hence you need to leave the heater switched on via mains at all times in order to control it remotely. App functionality is pretty good but let down by it's instability; crashes often. Still usable but not the nice, polished experience I would expect from Dimplex.
