Doesn't track hotspot data usage, as far as I can tell. That was the sole purpose of me downloading the app. Who cares about wifi usage? And the mobile network data can already be easily tracked from phone settings. I'll keep looking for a hotspot data counter..

I tried about two dozen data apps. Mostly trash. Three made it to the 'finals'. This one is the winner. very comprehensive data, nice UI, No obtrusive ads (like most of the others). Also, for my needs it is the most accurate when comparing the usage per my service provider, Comcast. For a certain period of time, Comcast shows that I have used 0.83 GB of data. The other finalists showed 0.74 GB (of course if I followed their data, it could be very costly as I could easily go beyond the plan limit). And this app shows my data usage at 0.84 GB. Excellent! UPDATE: unfortunately, the widget does not monitor anything on my Samsung phone. The above is all true, however, if I can't monitor data usage in real time, all this is useless. FOLLOW UP: Thank you for your reply. I read with interest the article you suggested and will try these steps to see if it will change the behavior of the widget. I am changing my rating back to 5 stars.

I've only used the app a few minutes, but I already think it deserves five stars. The design is excellent. Gives you detailed info, but it's still very easy to digest at a glance. The privacy policy is also excellent. I was worried about the permissions needed. But the policy and app design appears robust. I would not use this app without such a good stance on privacy. Get the app, then give these talented developers some 💰!

I meant here the fact that If you install the widget, it won't let you pass through the installation wizard ("I need your permission"), which requires to set permissions for the phone state, to eventually get to the widget customization screen. My suggestion is to make the read phone state permission optional for the use case when a user wants to monitor mobile internet usage only. I actually set the second permission option, changed the style, and unset it in the android settings later, which confirms that there is no need to make the permission mandatory.

I am updating my review here. Before I said I loved it with no problems and I thought about going with the pro version. I had an issue and I contacted support and support responded back to me the next day and solved the problem immediately. Very inclined to help, this app is simple biut with plenty of features at the same time and it just works! By far the best data counter I've ever used and I just bought the pro! Love the app and look forward to anything else you put out!

I'm traveling a lot now so need to track my data usage, this app does the trick. I created a widget and configured it to show just data used, so just by unlocking my phone I can see where I'm at in the month. Perfect! Then with a single tap I can open it up and see two arcs indicating progress through the month and progress through my data allotment. Perfect! I wouldn't mind seeing a similar two bar indicator on the widget.
