I would have rated it higher but I don't like it as much as I used to. I used to be able to login to different sites directly from my password page in Dashlane but now it only takes me to the login pages but doesn't fill in any information. It's a terrible inconvenience to have to flip back and forth on my phone to enter the password or I have to write it down so I can enter it.

review Update: I'm sad to say Dashlane is no longer auto-filling as fluently. It seems to pick and choose which sites it will show up in. I can't get Dashlane to fill in any personal info, like name and address. I've also had some problems with Dashlane filling in old passwords that had been changed. I want to get a way from Google for filling passwords, yet that's the only one that seems to comes up every time.

chrome extension it doesnt always work like its supposed to. whenever i put in a new password and it says "save to dashlane" i hit save and it doesnt change the password. i have to manually fix it myself which kind of sucks. i could just have a notekeeping app with a pin on it for the same effect Updated review: I dig it and I was mostly just being dumb and saving to chrome passwords that were different than the dashlane ones. I would recommend Dashlane for sure. Sorry it took so long to get that 5 star!

login 04/09/2021 . Dashlane is not fully functional on my Samsung tab A7. I am being forced to do most tasks on my PC. 03/24/2021. Something was changed with the current version. Won't auto fill on Android tablet. Constantly asks for admin password. I think we are reaching the point that perfect security is NOT using devices and software. The iPad interface is also dumbed down or "made more secure", and fettered. It works on my Windows PC, but mobile devices are severely hampered.

cost It doesn’t work with Kiwi browser, where Bitwarden and LastPass work smoothly. If you want Dashlane to work, you must use a browser chosen by them. I asked for a refund, as they promise in their website, but I just got no answer.

app Worth the money, but hey if you don't need the vpn and all extra features or never use them; change passwordmanager. Plus I'm not sure I fully trust auto-change-password, with such complexety something must go wrong eventually

download Saves passwords flawlessly and generates very long and secure ones for new accounts. If you use the same password for every account this app is for you. It makes having different passwords for everything easy.

free Only way to change plan is to cancel then you restricted to 1 device anc 50 passwords until renew. Also VPN does not work, just stuck on connecting. Looks like switch to 1password or bitwarden and take yearly payment as a lesson to be learned.

Not bad at all works as advertised, but I do wish that you could have your account synced up to two devices without the subscription. That's really my only problem with it though.

I could see putting up with it if it was free, but as a paying premium member I can't stand that it rarely ever works to autofills forms. I'd say on a good day it autofills about 1 out of every 6 forms.

The support team's response need to be faster. Please have more sense of urgency, because it is an app for storing my login/payment info. If I can't open it, I can't access other service that needs my login/payment info.

Was a perfect manager, worked well and really helped de clutter my online space. But after the recent update it crashes every time it tries to open. Even in the backgroumd when I'm not trying to access it it freezes my phone and crashes.

Used to be a solid app, but has gotten worse over time. Even dropping a desktop app so it's a thousand times more annoying to use on the computer. The browser add on is clucky and breaks some websites if it ever gets the password wrong, also the pop-ups are giant and annoying when you don't need them. On mobile it's wildly inconsistent and slow, sometimes suggesting passwords and sometimes not. Just a flaky, ever worsening app. Look elsewhere until they can get their act together.

Overall this app has fresh and good-looking UI and easy to manage vault, but I have some problems in the first month: 1. Sometimes autofill wrong input other account's password in some websites. So, please fix this. 2. This password generator has not-too-much character symbols. So, please add more character symbols to increase password strength. 3. There's still no security prompt for copying or viewing password. Why did you apply this only on Debit/credit cards?

  20. CrammishWav-avatar

And alert or alarm sound for someone access account and also alert sound for email breaches. Please give the options for floating button on screen always , its quickly add note, email id, password etc. Please consider my suggestion and give the best. The VPN disconnects itself constantly and within a very short amount of time. The other features of the app are good, especially on desktop. Unfortunately they aren't enough to redeem the VPN that performs so poorly I'd get a refund if I could.

Used to be great, now it's broken. Autofill used to work flawlessly but for about a month or two, it never works. I have to go in to the app, turn Autofill off, then back on. Then if works for one Autofill. Then it never works again until I go in and turn it off and back on. Pointless. I haven't seen an update to the dashlane app for weeks so either they don't care, or a big hefty fix is taking a long time to push out.

  43. Christopher Prince-avatar

Works well using Windows 10 on pc. Very poor and VERY FRUSTRATING in Android. It is virtually impossible to change a password using Android Dashlane. The help facility will suggest 207 articles if you have the patience to scroll through them looking for your exact problem. The 'contact us' is long and awkward to use and there is no chat option. Be prepared to have to sign back in to the dashlane app 4 or 5 times when trying to change a single password. Great for PC .... Sucks for Android.

Wouldn't pay for last pass, not paying for a worse app. 50 password limit and a SINGLE device limit after trial. Then they make it almost impossible to export your passwords to another service by encrypting them on export. Like ransomware. I can't believe this is still on the play store. Edit. Ya. I waited days for your help instead of finally figuring out your intentionally obscure way of getting my passwords back. Gfy losers.

Great app. I would like to be able to get the app opened and the first tab to appear to be "passwords" or whatever we choose, and not "home". It would be very convenient. Also I think the option to copy instantly the note within the password card would be helpful (right now I have to press the edit button and select the note that I have in order to copy it.) Thanks

App reliability has gone down the drain lately. I'd say less than half of the time auto fill actually works in Chrome. I'd really like for the devs to work on auto fill detection, it just doesn't work and is the primary reason I have it installed. I have already opened tickets with support, and the response I get is boilerplate, and the agents don't even read the information that I provide. I'll be switching products once my premium membership is up.

  49. Dávid G.-avatar

    Dávid G.

Bank account item has a bug, account holder cannot be typed in, if I type something in there, it's typed elsewhere, in the name (I could send a screen recording). Bank cannot be filled in at all. Also, autofill doesn't seem to work with Opera, nothing shows up. If used with Chrome, it's nice. The performance overall is great, very little lag.

  50. TNinja0-avatar

The sync and web monitoring was kind of nice. And I suppose having a VPN included to Premium is a good incentive. But look, if I have to open my e-mail for an authentication code every time I want to log into the app, the experience becomes cumbersome. The device list has registered my phone like 5 times now. That just ain't it chief. That just ain't it.

  51. Dezerey Acevedo-avatar

Insanely inconsistent. Have bought the premium the past 2 years and I'll be looking for another app to store my passwords. Or use Google for free, since that consistently pops up instead of the app I pay for. More specific for developer: The app does not pop-up when it's supposed to, i.e. putting in a password to a site that's been saved in the app for literal years. But what consistently pops up? Google. And it's free.

There is an issue where, if biometrics fail, the app requires your master pass code to retrieve login information. But then, it doesn't enter the information, and loops back to asking for biometrics. Needs to be fixed as this is a huge frustration and basically prevents me using dash lane whenever my fingerprint scan fails.

  54. Leon-avatar

Bad updates and always have bugs, support claimed its a chrome update issue, I don't understand what Google Chrome has to do with installed Android dashlane app doesn't open? 🤔 I have been using your app for a year and it was only a disappointment after another, and you don't even has the morals to admit any of the app errors. Rubbish

  55. Proxima Centauri-avatar

    Proxima Centauri

The TL;DR version is that using Dashlane is frustrating. The app lags, autofill suddenly freezes. The Mac app doesn't work properly. VPN on Mac is a sham. Password persistence on desktop is a hit or miss. Sometimes, authentication is using a key and sometimes a password. Biometrics are again problematic. All of this, for a premium membership. Are you kidding me?

  56. Morgan S-avatar

    Morgan S

Used to be great, however the last update broke autofill, as many have pointed out. They seem to have no plans to fix it and give no response to support requests beyond automated bot replys telling you to read an FAQ that doesn't solve your issue. No human responses dispite them stating if you reply you will get one. Unfortunate because it used to be such a great app.

Unreliable. Autofill doesn't work, and the FAQ is no help. Won't be renewing in the coming months. Response to below: I have already sent a request to support but have not yet heard back. Update: still heard nothing back - it has now been several weeks - I'm seriously disappointed. Fully intending to leave and cancel my subscription.

The free version quickly renders itself useless. Limited number of passwords on local storage, really? Some people don't have money to blow on things that aren't entirely necessary. Those people should still be taken care of for the sake of reputation and mass adoption, right? Not according to Dashlane apparently. It's like they forgot what the purpose of the app is. Secure. Passwords. Keep all the other features locked behind a paywall, that's fine, just let me have more passwords.

  61. Bill Knopp-avatar

    Bill Knopp

App is good. Support is the worst. My subscription renewed on Google play 3 days ago but app moved me to free level. I contacted their "support" but it is just a bot. It emailed me a useless solution and said to reply if it did not work. I did that 2 days ago and have heard nothing back. 3 days with a crippled password manager and I will now be cancelling my subscription. Don't give them your cash. Support number is 1425278, buy your support experts should have responded to my request on your site, using the official Dashlane support channels. Why do I have to post a bad review in order to get a response?

Sync-ing across devices (android/PC) no longer works. I've had a premium subscription for a couple of years, and recently autofill has become glitchy and sync-ing a complete failure. FAQ articles give a couple of basic things to check, then say to contact customer support as it's complicated and risky to do anything else. Customer support is non-existent, other than from a bot called Trashy, which refers me to the same article which told me to contact customer support. I'm cancelling my service

Was working fine the last 2 years but now on Android 11 it doesn't let you autofill on browsers. I checked the article and followed it opened a support ticket who told me to change browsers. Lastpass can suck it. Switched out of spite, and pleasantly surprised by it's reliability and ease of use. There are a few features it's missing as it can be unreliable sometimes on various sites I use on mobile and desktop, but overall it is a far better experience

Love the app, both on my laptop (web app) and on my phone. BUT, the android app says that we can use face unlock or fingerprint biometrics to unlock it. The face unlock doesn't work on my Nokia C1 (2020) for some reason. It just pops up errors. This is my only issue and I still love the app altogether. Checked the support link the developer provided. The help guide makes it clear that the android app doesn't support facial recognition. Not a complete turn off, but feel a bit disappointed though.

Was a great desktop app for years. Now ruined by forced switch to browser only app as no further support or security patches will be offered for the desktop app. I use many non-browser programs and now have to access all my passwords in a browser. On top of that the browser app is much slower to use. Would have given it 5 stars previuosly, but will now be switching away after my premium sub ends.

Love using Dashlane on my phone and with my webrowser. Especially anyone with a partner that you need to share passwords with for share bank accounts or bills you need to log in to pay. So nice and convenient that we can have it saved and synced across each of our devices and has helped us be better about using different passwords for each account instead of using the same password for everything, which can leave your information vulnerable.

I've used Dashlane Premium for years, and while I've been able to adapt to the browser only change (desktop app was the reason I picked dashlane), the new changes to the mobile app has autofilling being inconsistent. It barely autofills on mobile browsers anymore and app logins are spotty too. I will most likely be switching to another password manager if things aren't resolved by the time I'm up for renewal.

  70. Graham Moodie-avatar

Great in concept but clumsy in execution. It's not Dashlane's fault but it clashes with other password managers such as Google's password manager. This results in more than one password prompt/help when logging on. Security means you need to keep logging on to Dashlane, which is a pain when you just want to access one regular website. Dashlane also stores a long list of duplicate sites and pwords that don't synchronise and you need to go in and delete them. Sometimes more of a pain than help.

Sick of It! - Screen opens to Recents so you have to dig through menus to find anything else. - Won't let you save a password without a login, which is unneeded for something like the unlock screen of a kindle, even if I name the entry. - Search function ignores the Notes: can't find things, then I create dups They sent me a support request, like I don't understand something. They won't fix their software. Really deceitful and fossilized...

Had to go from a 5 star to a 1 star due to issues with the new web browser policy. My wife and I got Dashlane for her business because we wanted a good one stop password manager, which the desktop and Android app versions did. Unfortunately, the decision by Dashlane to go browser only means we can no longer use fingerprint authentication and we cannot use our Yubikeys. That means 100's of dollars of investment in security on our end is down the drain. Dashlane needs to get us back the ability to use Windows Hello for fingerprint logon and Yubikey for authentication or we will have to switch to Lastpass.

4.5/5 Amazing app! Best password manager for sure. •Bad things: Limit of how many password can we add. It should have a keyboard integration for Android 10 too. The existing system of password-website detection is bit clunky. Some websites are not supported. Other than biometrics, there is only 4 digit pin security to access app. We need 6 digit too. •Good things: Other than that everything. No ads. Most websites are supported.

Used to be an amazing app until my account gets reset to the free version every month and I have to contact support to get it set back to premium leaving me unable to access my account info on other devices, making this manage useless. There should be live support available when stuff like this happens. I contacted support 3 days ago and still no response...how can you leave your customers without access to their account info even for a day, nevermind 3!

Do not believe the great now outdated reviews. Since "they" converted it to a web app, it is more trouble than it is worth. I spend way too much time trying to work around hangs in the web browser. Additionally it never autofills apps on my phone. They ruined a very effective app. I will be converting to a replacement.

Easier to use than N##d. It's excellent for keeping track of all my passwords, credit cards and other information. Logs in directly on most websites and others are as simple as clicking on the "D" in the user or password field. I don't know why I waited so long to try it. Great for mom and dad who tend to use the same password over and over again.

Been using dashlane for a year now, simple and easy. For the past year auto fill has not been working due to Google's change in the way it works. But glad to say as of writing this review autofill is now working perfectly in Google Chrome on Android. For those who quit because of it, I'm happy to say it's working.

Lastest update in Jan 2021 made the browser password pop-up disappear. I don't get prompted for my dashlane passwords anymore. Customer service has no answers either. Many users are having this same issue with autofill being broken in the browser. It used to work. Please just revert back to your previous version! Tell your developers to rollback the update.

ORIGINAL, trimmed: Frustrating when it comes to browsers. Been trying to switch from Firefox to something else for a while, but every other browser I've tried never works with DL autofill. UPDATE per DL response: That article was not helpful in this case. What was informative was reading about Android's API for autofill. Seems browsers/apps have to implement the API in order for the OS to trigger autofill services. So DL might not be able to autofill if the browser doesn't tap the native API.

Absolutely great stuff. The UI is great, the password managing aspect is however you expect it to be. I previously used LastPass for almost 3 years now but ever since they introduced the policy of only allowing one device type on a free account, this has been my goto manager of choice.

Great password manager for me it does everything I want, the only issue 5 times I tried to upgrade to the premium plan, and it was having none of it when I got to putting my 3 digit Code on my card to pay for the premium plan the screen just went back to the start. Shame really.

Used correctly and with Yubikey this is by far the best and most secure password manager around. As with any robust, complex application the user will need to actually learn something about the features and limitations as well as understand that given the many different websites and apps we users use, it's a challenge for any company to keep up with let alone anticipate or second guess all software updates and random changes that occur on a daily basis. Dashlane does a remarkable job! Thanks DL

Terrible customer service. Since now browser based app doesn't work well at all. I have been a "Preimium" customer from day 1. I have tried 2-3 password managers like Bitwarden, Lastpass, there was another one which I can't seem to remember the name. This one works the best for me. Since I use it on both Android and iOS, I needed something that worked seemlessly on both platforms, this one does that for me. Their app is quite consistent and I rarely have to worry about Autofill not working. I am using it right now, hoping it doesn't screw up like Lastpass did for me.

Even on desktop there were a few sites that were quirky - even after changing password. on the desktop it anted to autofill every field that was available with passwords / emails. I left 1Password after using it for around 2 years. The main reason is that the auto-fill in the Microsoft Edge mobile browser was extremely inconsistent and had to use the accessibility service, making it less integrated and battery efficient. Overall, I love Dashlane for its ease of use and super polished UI. It may be feature-lacking still, such as the inability to add custom fields to items, but I am confident in the potential to come.
