Oct 2, 2018 update. DO NOT pay for this app. I paid for it on Feb 26, 2016 and the ads have NEVER been removed. I have tried emailing the developer and the email no longer works. I see from the reviews that many people have had this same experience. Feb 29th update .. Thank you for your response. The last couple of days it has been working correctly so hopefully the issue is fixed. Often when I go to use it none of the sounds will work. I tried emailing the developer but the email was returned. I just purchased this app so would like to figure out why it's not working. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4.

Update 2 years later: having bought the pro version STILL hasn't unlocked the locked items, and I get an error when I try to submit feedback within the app to ask about it. --- I also bought the full version; locked items are still locked, ads are still there, and for some reason there's no option in Play to get a refund for this app as there is with most.
