Absolutely brilliant app when it connects. Unfortunately it doesn't often manage to connect. I am trying to connect on a Samsung J6 phone, and last week, when I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled it, it worked perfectly for about 24-48 hours. Then it would say it was "connecting", and would get to 100%, would say "fetching data", and then start at 1% "connecting" status again. Over and over and over. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app again yesterday, but it was still not working afterwards.

Nice app. Helps me monitor my solar power on my motorhome. But... In the history tab it would be much more useful if it didn't say "Today", "Yesterday", "2 days ago", etc, as it is easier to remember the weather conditions and where I was on a particular date if you put the day and date in the header box. Nobody goes "I remember the weather and where I was 13 days ago...."

The app UI is much better than the market average (i.e. apps written by non-IT companies, usually to control physical products), the options are logically organized and the control flow is easy to understand. I use it with a BlueSmart Charger and it paired, updated firmware and generally worked just fine with no issues. I was especially positively impressed by the "Warning, you're still using the default BT PIN!" prompt: it's rare to see any kind of security awareness in the industry and I'm happy Victron surprises like that. I was also impressed by the very clear prompts which explain what's happening with the necessary level of detail for you, the users, to be made well aware of the current state of the software and/or of the connected device. Once again, it's rare to see such attention to detail in the industry.

The Bluetooth sucks. Range is bad. I have to literally be in , or standing next to my vehicle for connection. I also have to continuously reboot my phone for the app to pick up the MPPT via Bluetooth. It seems to loose connection over time. Toggling the flight mode does not help. Only a reboot of the phone. All other Bluetooth devices connect without a problem.

Try updating firmware... 95% and crash 10000x won't let me charge my batteries without the update.. boat anchor at this point!! so this is strange.. the Battery monitor works no issues connects just fine while all the other apps don't.. so to your question, I'm running lots of your devices all with this terrible connecting app.. phone literally laying on top of the devices.. MPPT 100/50.. Orion DC/DC 12/12 - 30 charger, Blue Smart IP67 charger.. BMV-712 Smart (last one is the only one that actually works).. I'm still shocked.. these are all new and I can't even use them without updating a firmware that never updates!! its an infernal loop, I get to 93 - 95% and if says failed update!! proximity is literally touching the damned product case!!

Disappointed. Smartsolar connected ok when I installed it. Then it disappears from the app. If I pair then move away, it doesn't show up in the app but does in the BT settings. The manual says to clear that - then the OS doesn't detect it either, even after restarting phone. The only way seems to be to disconnect pv & battery cables, which is a pain as they're not accessible, somewhat risky & just plain unacceptable. There are myriad posts online about poor BT connectivity

Firstly, with a score of 3.3 and +2,000 reviews it's pretty clear your app needs some work. Secondly, my Lenovo Chromebook can be flipped and used as a Tablet. I'm waiting for the '"It's not designed to work on Tablets"" reply next. That said, I'm happy that Victron has found so many users prepared to spend their own valuable time attempting to fix your problems for free and get it working on their Android devices. Please consider releasing a product that works with Android devices out-of-the-box.

Update, something changed, app no longer crashes with Android, took a long time but got there in the end. The victron product is great but unfortunately this app crashes my Victron everytime I try to use the Android app. Says I have to update the firmware, and this causes the inverter to crash. The only way to reset the unit is by using an Apple device. Blue solar mppt 100/30 v1.39 dongle v2.23 BL 1.10 android wants v2.26

App is nice when it works. Doesn't seem to work on android 10 devices. Works on older android phones but on newer version the app doesn't detect the ve.direct bluetooth device. Edit: Have checked location is on and permission has been granted, no luck - not scanning Edit2: So app can't scan if you have a smartwatch connected even though my phone supports multiple bluetooth devices. I have a polar smartwatch, same happens with fitbit versa watches.

Update: the latest update fixed the issue. I just wish it wasn't ever an issue. Otherwise it's great. Original: Has been working great until the latest update v5.43 and now now longer connects correctly to multiples inverter after it updated the firmware on all devices. It now says "Fault" or "Unknown".
