TouchDAW is a full-featured DAW controller plus some general purpose MIDI tools and options to create your own custom controllers. This is a MIDI controller! The app does not itself play or record audio! Supports Cubase / Nuendo, Live, Logic, Pro Tools, Sonar, FL Studio, REAPER, Reason, Studio One, Samplitude, SAWStudio Digital Performer (7.2+), Vegas / Acid, Tracktion, Bitwig, Ardour & Mixbus workstations. Standard functionality like mixer and transport operation will be accessible in other applications with basic control surface support as well. As of version 1.1 the app can also send MIDI Machine Control (MMC) in parallel with or alternatively to standard DAW control. Besides control surface emulation, the app brings a number of general purpose MIDI controllers, such as a multitouch MIDI keyboard, multitouch launchpads, a MIDI mixer, configureable xy-controller pads and the possibility to link a phone's sensors to MIDI controllers. TouchDAW works with RTP or multicast MIDI over WiFi and is directly compatible with Apple's Network MIDI implementation in Mac OS X, Tobias Erichsen's rtpMIDI driver for Windows and ipMIDI (resp. multimidicast or qmidinet on Linux). There is no computer side server or protocol conversion software other than the driver required. Class compliant MIDI interfaces are supported on devices with Usb host mode. Direct device to PC Usb connectivity is available both via the Android 6 MIDI Api as well as over tethered USB connections or ADB. A free driver, available from our website, is required for some of the proprietary solutions. The apk contains both tablet and phone versions. Most recent phones will let you alternatively use the tablet layout. The app needs some initial PC-side configuration. Please see website for help. This is the feature-limited free version. Differences compared to paid version: DAW controller: - randomly disables 3 channels on tablet interface time limited: - recording, automation, saving, marker setting - plugin, instrument and routing editors - channel flipping on mixer MIDI controllers: - multitouch operation time-limited - no floating transport controls - sensors, MIDI mode and MMC time-limited - limited octave range on keyboard - only one standing note on launchpads Apart from these limitations the full version is identical. If you have issues with the demo, buying the full version is NOT going to fix them! (Reading the manual or contacting me via the developer email address given below eventually will) Why doesn't this come as an unlockable freemium model? When the app was first released Android did not support in-app-purchases. Unfortunately it is not possible to change that in retrospect so the somewhat inconvenient demo / full version split will have to stay in place. Problems, questions, suggestions? Please use website or email. The Play Store's comments section is not a support channel and help calls you leave here will not be answered.

Garbage. The free version set up fine, so then I bought the full version, and it just refuses to connect 95% of the time. If I randomly switch the connection types for an hour, there's a chance it'll work, but until it does, it's just nonsense where, e.g., it'll not display any connections or just one and not the other or force the midi controller connection to connect to the daw controller port. Also, switching between different control boards is awkward. It's a gamble. Avoid it.

It will work for the first couple days then won't. Don't be fooled into buying the paid version to fix this, since it won't. Instead get the Google Remote Desktop on your phone and computer and get full access to your DAW via this method. It's free and extremely user friendly. Google even walks you through each step to ensure connectivity. DO NOT PURCHASE THE FULL VERSION.

This is a brilliant app!! Just search YouTube for TouchDAW and the name of your preferred DAW and voila, you should have some easy to follow instructions to make this app work smoothly. Perhaps I'm just lucky, but I've had no problems, it was effortless to get it working, and it works without any noticeable lag for me.

I have a Pixel 3a xl and I was trying to connect to Cakewalk and Kontakt. I was able to control console faders but I couldn't get the keyboard working. Very glad I tried the demo before sinking money into something that doesn't work.

Doesn't work well with win 10 and cakewalk by bandlab. Very laggy and can only get half the stuff to work using rtpmidi. Would have been the bees knees if it worked right. Oh well, can't win them all.

All connected works only once with cakewalk then midi only not works others ok explain why???

I bought the paid version. It's sooo hard to use. I got it working once but you have to set it up every time and I can't get it working again. The manual is extremely badly written and not much help. If you have Reaper just use the free web remote control instead. This app is R Kelly: sounds great but is actually awful! Don't buy it until they make it user friendly.

Edit:In the previous comment I refused to buy the premium due to some unconsistencies of working through a wifi connection, now It works through USB. Only one channel... so through wifi doesnt work properly, sometimes I have the controls working, sometimes I've only midi key/pad with no controls, and even if im an "user guide maniac" I didn't get the problem, and then suddenly stuck notes.IlKeep editing this review for the developer sake if I manage to get more juice from it. I'll probably buy.

For people who think this records audio or magically connects to your daw well wake up. This app requires basic midi knowledge to setup and does exactly what it says it does. My suggestion for those who can't get it working is to school up on midi control on your daw. This has been super handy to control my daw when I am in the vocal booth or the drum room. A few buttons dont work but again if you sit down and actually learn an app you will figure out how it will work best for you.

I have been wrestling with Logic Pro x and found there was a Logic Remote for iPad.... well .... this is the android version. I am loving it. Had to set up a midi WiFi network on the Mac but now very happy to have sliders and knobs on a touch screen. Got the free version and as it says, a few moves in and it stops. It's just to see if it works for you, so I have bought the paid version and works a treat. Thank You
