Thumbtack is one of the better freelancer sites or lead gen. Previous I gave them a 5 start rating. The problem is they keep raising there raters during the pandemic. 4 years ago when I started with them I was paying around $4-$6 a lead. Now I pay anything from $12-$35. Somedays I have 3 - 4 leads come in a day with most of them being $30+ and sometimes none of them meet the criteria that I select inside thumbtack. If rates keep going up I will keep dropping my rating and leave thumbta

Awful. I didn't try the actual process of claiming a job, because my card was charged 8 times without my knowledge. The first four, I requested a refund and explicitly said I DON'T WANT MY CARD AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED, because I was not ready to start working with Thumbtack just yet but I wanted to set up my account. They declined the refund. My card declined the next charge and said I needed to update it before I could claim anything else. I didn't update. They still took my money.

So far this app has been worth the time it takes to setup. The process is pretty straight forward and there's not a ton of people hounding you for marketing money. You setup a profile, they get you leads, then it's up to you to close to deal. The pricing for a lead seems a little high on some jobs, but other times it's fair. Overall the app works and provides what it should provide.

It was great. But since last week. I see that the customer that request Cleaning houses they added falsely phone number. Or deactivated phone number. When we contact them they don't answer or they do not check their messages. But we the company that provide the service pay immediately. Or they contact other company. But we paid per each lead ??? Sadly!!!!!!!! I will contact other App

Not great. The leads are put out on a table for too many pros to fight for. Will keep service for now. They say you get the phone number to communicate, bit fine print says "after the customer responds from your quote. The problem with that is you should be looking at a job before you quote it!!!

This service is predatory for professionals, they say they want to give you "quality assurances" for your leads but if you request a refund it's almost always denied even if what you are requesting a refund for falls in the guidelines they provide. And if you do get a refund they will add it to your "thumbtack balance" not real money so some customer can make ridiculous requests after selecting a "high value job" you offer and you won't see that money back. I could go on but character limit....

Thumbtack is great for those pros needing a professional platform to gather leads for them. Simple process in which once you have your review you can gather leads for any types of jobs you have. I received my first lead the next day I was able to be seen by customers.

Bad. They just take money from you. Seems like at times it's just a scam. You pair your card info. They pair you with "customers" they automatically charge you at times and when the customers don't respond nor when the job description doesn't entail what you do. They still charge you and play dumb on refunding your money back. This app is just a scam for anyone that's actually want to provide a good service. Don't waste your time.

The one thing you don't have is an easy fix. If I'm already booked on a direct lead, I'm basically paying for a lead I can't use. It's already happened to the tune of over a hundred dollars.
